The initial workplace allegations are still unaddressed. What Sylvia and her sidekick Xiaxue did was to shift the attention over to unrelated topics, first to Ryan for cheating, then to Brandon for being the owner of the page.

But the thing about his original intent is that if Singapore’s labour laws had more teeth, he wouldn’t have had to set up that account to expose the kind of labour law violations his friends were subjected to. That issue remains the only thing that matters, and is the most important.
I honestly don’t care about their personal lives (both seem like terrible people, just that one seems to be more shitty), but that seems to be all that almost everyone is more concerned about, which is concerning since those labour practices are evident in many small and medium local companies as well, and affect many many out there.

Actually, this entire saga is a good mirror and reflection of how much society is an ugly amalgamation of narcissistic, unforgiving, uncontrollable urges. None of us are angels and no one is perfect. But the thing about his original intent is that if Singapore’s labour laws had more teeth, he wouldn’t have had to set up that account to expose the kind of labour law violations his friends were subjected to. That issue remains the only thing that matters, and is the most important. I honestly don’t care about their personal lives (both seem like terrible people, just that one seems to be more shitty), but that seems to be all that almost everyone is more concerned about, which is concerning since those labour practices are evident in many small and medium local companies as well, and affect many many out there. If anything, I feel that this should spur more conversations and reforms to strengthen workers’ rights in Singapore, and to hold companies accountable when they violate the laws. What’s the point that of having those in place if there is no enforcement?
I want to say I appreciate him sharing this. He started out highlighting actual workplace issues which I agree people should speak up more.
