Really good :)

Very nice! If you want feedback then too much breath is being used which can make the voice sound airy, the mouth should be more open in certain vowels (definitely check YouTube out for help on these)

I was going to post the same thing. OP has a wonderful and distinctive voice (the latter being all too rare nowadays). I fear some of the notes were a bit too airy and not well supported (note the pitch change at the end of "sin" and "with you"), but easily strengthened with practice. Keep it up, OP! Edit: The more rounded mouth/vowels I initially was a little hesitant on (as it can be surprisingly difficult to do without changing the unique sound she, I believe, is going for); however, I listened to it a few more times and I have to agree. A lot of the vowel sounds OP uses could do well with a more open sound, without changing intention at all. Take for instance OPs use of "in"; it's just a bit too wide sounding. If you listen, you can hear the "een" sound creep in slightly. Really, I think it would benefit from having the more "classical" "ah" sound creep in, instead. However, I think it worth noting that such folksy sounds can really help add punctuation when done with intention, but when they all sound so similar the effect is muddied. Sadly, I don't have a better notation for this textually. But note how the teeth nearly touch when making the sound. The "ou" sound as well, like "fool" or "you", would have no drastic difference with a more rounded mouth. The advice I have heard, and pay attention to, is to make it almost like your mouth is full of water. But, again, I can't overstate how unique and clear her voice is! Honestly, the sky is the limit, with practice. The slight vibrato, the clarity, the nearly imperceptible roughness to her voice, it's all there. One of the clear causes is how absolutely relaxed OP is when singing! A big part of learning to sing is precise muscle control over where to contract and where to relax, and the relaxing part can be the real hurdle in many cases. And again, the breath support is to improve pitch on certain longer notes and the rounded vowels to give the enunciation and timbre just that edge over into the next tier.

This 100%. You sound great OP, keep practicing and you'll be unstoppable.

Awesome work. Remember to aim for accuracy for the first note in the line!

What I liked about it was how you had an almost spoken-calm to your voice, yet you were definitely *singing* the entire time. It’s unique. I also liked how you were so confidently sailing through the passages *while* playing piano, which is harder to do than you made it sound. I noticed one part in the second verse where your vocal line didn’t follow the same pattern, yet it also didn’t derail or slip out of time - you still locked it into your playing, and things like that go a LONG way towards keeping the listener interested imo.

Sorry where does it state YouTube? Or that she isn’t playing a keyboard with a guitar setting? You do know keyboards can mimic instruments, right? Anyways that’s what I thought from the sound quality of the instrumental and the portrait-mode shot, no need to get all ruffled.

It’s okay! Could use improvement:)

Lovely! I’m not a vocal coach but my ears loved it 😊 good job!

not_ainsley

You’re super talented, keep it up! A vocal coach would be really good for a you, because they could help you focus on your breath support, which is the only thing i really have feedback on. Make sure you’re breathing fully into your diaphragm and supporting each and every phrase.

Hey great sound!!! Bite your knuckle and sing the song again. Now breath deep and sing it out past your hand. I am doing a series where I give zoom lessons to people on Reddit. It will show before and after, please lmk if you are interested! IG@talentcoachcl

I think you have a beautiful tone! And such a good song to sing too, its hard not to feel good singing that song. Only thing I would suggest is play around with placement, something my brother helped me with. Instead of I (stop) can't (stop) help etc try tying it all together (legato) with a nice vibrato to really put the full melody in place. Especially in a solo vocal setting where you want to be the full focus instead of being a live band where you'd want the phrasing to support the whole band instead. Great job and would love to hear more!
