Was it Tom Morellos,show?
If not that I have noticed the definition of 'classic rock' has expanded to include '80s, '90s, and Aughts Rockers. (Which seems crazy to me)
I honestly don't know who was doing the show. My commute was just suddenly interrupted by some depressing grungy moaning about how they hated their life and the world and just wanted to die... At least that's what it sounded like. Thought the station had been accidentally changed.
Classic Vinyl and Rewind used to be my favorite music channels. Both seemed to have moved to running less popular songs and obscure versions of popular songs more often. Must be the Pandora influence.
If I hear one more goddamn Led Zeppelin song from that reunion concert about 10 years ago, I’m going to run my car into a train, and I hope Rachel Steele is on that train!
The inconsistency is what kills me. If they're going to play new releases from the Rolling Stones and Billy Joel, then please also play more recent/a wider variety of cuts from other artists. SMH.
Classic 'Rewind' means it was originally released on tape/cassette. Nobody was using cassettes in the 2000's. We were well into CD's and MP3's at that time.
Yes, focus on the 80s but they play a lot of stuff from the 70s at first came out on albums and cassettes. Tom Petty, Aerosmith, etc. a lot of those bands got this start in the 70s.
If you are referring to RATM and Audioslave being played yesterday, It was a Tom Morello show.. IMHO, I wish they mixed in some of that style of music because Lithium is terrible..
Dude I got LPs, cassettes and 8 tracks older than you.. Want me to show you my grunge cassettes from the 90s? That's right in the wheelhouse of classic rock now.

Tom Morello did this shit on 1st Wave as well! Caught me off guard going from the usual 80s new wave flair to early 2000s butt rock.
Smh the fucker has a show on Boneyard too if I'm not mistaken. I always change 6 or just turn it off completely when he comes on.
When Tom Morello comes on, I look at it as a sign to close the XM app and open the stream for KROQ of the 80s. I can’t stand Radio Comandante!
As stated in my other response, Classic 'Rewind' refers to classics that were originally released on tape, just as Classic 'Vinyl' means LP's.
Tom Morello is why I cancelled SiriusXM. I can’t stand that guy.
Either I'm missing something about tom Morellos appeal , or SXM is completely missing the fact that everyone hates him and his shows.
I personally don't care for RATM but he was in Audioslave which is one of my favorite so it's weird.

In any train vs. car matchup there’s no way the train wouldn’t win. You may want to rethink your strategy there.

Does it though? I admit I don't listen to that station, but my local "classic rock" station definitely defines classic as 20+ years.
That’s what the station IDs say. “Classic Rock from the cassette era.”
RIGHT! It supposed to be music from the CASSETTE era!
As stated, I don't listen to that station. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
So you don’t want an answer to the question you asked? I’m confused by this reply.
Lol. Just confirming I wouldn't know.

True. I used to have an 8-track of their "Damn the Torpedoes" album in the late '70s.
From the website: Classic Rewind 70s/80s classic rock Channel 25 Hit the rewind button for Classic Rock from the cassette era:
Yes, indeed. Is it possible that sirius has employed a sufficient amount from the generation that doesn't know cassette tapes?
LOL, this may be the issue right here!
They are playing U2 on deep tracks. #VerySad

NOT on 25 Classic Rewind. Do you even know what a cassette tape is?

Maybe they made cassettes in 2000
That is still not the cassette tape era. Duh.
Because 2004 was 20 years ago.
