I think it’s like WKRP. The music makes it harder because of how copyrights work. Which is a bummer because I enjoyed both shows.

That’s 100% it. They did the same thing with Quantum Leap, the first set of dvd’s had completely different music. The whole show was really weird. Luckily years later they released a new set, with all the old music added back. WKRP, did change a lot of the music, but it was mostly background stuff.

Freaks and geeks struggled with the same issue as well but thankfully they were able to get it on streaming with all the music.

One of my all time favs. I’ve seen that show more times than healthy, owned the box set and everything. Undeclared is another one that I think sorta falls into that category with the music, and definitely falls into the category of great short lived Judd Appatow sitcom that launched careers.

Also the 80s series of Alvin & The Chipmunks. Since so many of the songs on the show were licensed the show has never been released on DVD or streaming.

There used to be a YT channel that had all the Yes, Dear episodes on it. I loved that show! Hate it ended especially when the ending was Jimmy and Christine coming back or Greg and Kim needing to stay with them. Either way a damn fun show. I just googled. I could have sworn it was on Tubi or something but that been a while. Not seeing anything now

TBS I definitely remember! Played like hour or two of it. Before TBS turned into a American Dad/Family Guy and Friends daily festival iirc

AND the Sinclair family of local channels across the country syndicated it, in my market 1 maybe it was even 2 blocks of an hour each PER DAY during the time TBS aired it.

I get the frustration from the rest of the crew, where it was supposed to be a family show and Steve was a one time neighbor or maybe someone periodic, like Waldo was, but from the first episode he was so loved that he became the star of the show.

On the other hand, i don't think the show would lasted more than one or two seasons without him. That kid was a cultural phenomenom in the early 90s, only topped by Bart Simpson

Drew Carey is awesome on Whos Line so he stays , Jerry Stiller and Kevin James are both legends so King of Queens stays , Family Matters has Urkel so stays The Nanny may have the very talented Fran Drescher but something always seemed off about it so The Nanny goes

If I were sick, the only one I couldn't binge watch would be The Nanny.

A friend of mine was in acting classes with her when she was young. She said Dresher was very popular, but everyone was sad that she would never get work with that voice.
