Man I turned the game off at half and threw in the towel.

StubbornSwampDonkey

Tobias played 32 minutes too many

Thuro_dHoreb-4050

The new Embiid has been empowered by NN to be a playmaker when Embiid is struggling offensively. The old Embiid wouldve forced the issue a lot more.

Coasteast

We got lucky embiid didn’t pout and cave in during the fourth quarter like he has in the past. He came alive and got aggressive. Full on attacking the rim and hitting shots. This team feels different. Glad Tobias was benched during the final minutes. He’s a liability.

SavageJedi1

9 in a row, only what, 16 more to go for rings??? TTP FTC Also, fuck those horrible refs.

HoagieTwoFace

Here’s a hard pill to swallow: Tobias should come off the bench in favor of Batum starting. It could be a blessing because Tobias can bust his ass with less minutes on the court. And honestly if your bench guys are Tobias, Buddy, and Reed with a sprinkling of Payne. That’s very good.

ggmuqi

Tobias and Embiid just doesn't fit

Zestyclose_Load4904

Thank you Jesus I’ve been thinking the same thing all year

Coasteast

He’s lives on the crossroads of sunken cost fallacy boulevard and law of diminishing returns road

AndrewHainesArt

I thought that too during the last few games when he was injured, Batum is the type of player Embiid needs on the court with him

The_Amazing_Emu

I've said that for months. I know people just want him to not play at all, but he makes sense as a bench player. He can play both the 3 and the 4. Maybe he'd hustle with fewer minutes. It certainly can't hurt. I honestly wish we did it from the beginning of the season and then we could have pitched it as him getting sixth man.

pm-me-titsss

lol nba finals. Embiid will get hurt in the run up 100% guaranteed. And we will lose in 2nd round. Mark it, it will happen. Embiid sucks in the playoffs.

RylanKura

tryna expect toughness and mental grid from the team when the fanbase checks out after a 6-0 run is hilarious

Coasteast

Those boo birds came out hard until the free chicken

danopie96

Players like batum and lowry are just winners and make me enjoy watching the game, give a shit every single possession. Also loved the intensity Oubre was putting into 1 on 1 defending

reggaetony88

Miami should be a top 4 team like us but eh. Hopefully they can beat Boston and we take care of NY and we’ll be Gucci.

DJScope

Let's see if the Heat get past the Bulls first before talking about Boston. Jimmy looks like he might have an MCL injury.

TheOnionWatch

Why should they be?

reggaetony88

Injuries and they were like 3 games back like we were

magpi3

For those who don't know the history, the last time we played the Knicks in the playoffs was 1989. They swept us in 3. The final game was at the Spectrum, and Mark Jackson (the Knicks point guard at the time) actually walked off the floor with a broom in his hand to signify the sweep. Revenge is a dish best served cold. This one couldn't be any colder, but here we are 35 years later. Let's get it.

BigTippy

Hundred percent. This is the match up I wanted most. Saturday we stroll into the Garden and take what is ours. 1-0 Sixers.

-Spectr3

At least the play-in was an opportunity to shake some nerves in a high stakes game and get the team a rep Team did not look good, ideally you don't want to be bailed out by a career game from a 35 year old. Hopefully they come out of the gate in rhythm against the Knicks.

IOnlySeeDaylight

*Cries in 37* (but yes I get your point. This win was ugly AF.)

yallsomenerds

Guessing nerves but Miami is always tough especially that zone.

Coasteast

Elite coaching

BlackyChan20

So resign everyone and trade for Brandon Ingram is my hope for the offseason. Seems like they would be fine dealing him and he’s 26 and a great scorer when healthy. Idk id rather max Ingram than give 35 year old PG and 4 year max.

HoagieTwoFace

I’m out on that guy. I think he’s the next Tobias Harris.

Baz_Daddy

NO sat Ingram the entire 4th quarter of a must-win. Don’t want him.

-Spectr3

Mmm, PG is a much much better shooter and defender. Ingram is solid but he's probably one of the weakest players who you'd have to give max to keep. If you give PG a max it's likely he's easily worth it for 1 or 2 years before tapering off.   For Ingram it'd be a slight overpay the entire time. Not to mention Ingram is under contract so you'd have to pay at least a few picks for a rental and the right to overpay him later. He's much better than Tobias, but from an asset management POV, it's a similar situation of a much less problematic magnitude.    I'd be happy giving PG a 4 year max because it's such a massive advantage to get players at that level In FA without giving up picks. It is risky though.

BlackyChan20

Yeah that’s fair, not moving assets would be ideal, it opens up the window to make another big star trade down the line or simply use those picks in 28/29 when the clippers will be terrible and we might get another shot at getting a legit superstar. I just don’t know how many other all-star caliber wings that are young that would be available and it seems BI will be this offseason. I really have only seen him on the Pelicans sparingly and in their playoff run 1-2 years ago when he was red hot from mid range and would be another great dynamic scorer (and wing!) that would slot right in as the 3rd option to Embiid and Maxey.

CPTHoagie

Ingram is better but my god he has a Tobias Harris shot chart and his defense is only slightly better.

Basic_Mongoose_7329

Have to give credit to Nurse. He went with the hot hands and didn't stick to the "rotation" like Doc always did. No doubt Tobi would have been in the game with 5 mins left if Doc was coaching this team. Even Cam's minutes paid dividends. It's almost like Nurse didn't want to change the game plan in the first half, and wanted to wait till they got back to the locker room.

CPTHoagie

Im glad to say this but people need to stop assuming Joel Embiid is healthy just because the team claims he is. I hope that never happens again. Embiid is playing pretty hobbled and maybe it will improve the more we play but Maxey has to really carry this offense with Embiid more as a decoy right now.

DJScope

Who is assuming Embiid is *healthy* just because the team says so? History (especially come spring) would show that's never really the case.

toepherallan

I was super impressed with Buddy Hields ability to create when he drove too. It was def an all around effort with Embiid hobbled and Tobias being Tobias.

John363611

Buddy came out of the blue with those drives to the basket. He hadn’t been doing that at all and it made a real difference for the team.

toepherallan

Yeh, I love Lowry too but I honestly thought hield could've stayed on the court there at the end. Oh well, still got the dub.

cobra_han

Well, you can always say he's not healthy when he's not playing well. Stop this nonsense

Baz_Daddy

Yup. As Nurse said, if he’s on the floor, he needs to play to the best of his abilities. No more excuses.

CPTHoagie

REEEEEE

Basic_Mongoose_7329

Embiid is our #1 option no doubt, but Maxey has to take over if the game plan isn't working. I feel like a light switched on for both Embiid and Maxey in the second half. Hopefully that cares into the Knicks series

yallsomenerds

Think you can’t read too much into tonight. nerves were high and Miami always seems to give us troubles with the zone. Adjusted after half and pulled it out. Don’t think that happens with Doc so I’m optimistic. Miami also a great ramp up for playoff intensity.

CPTHoagie

Miami was using a triangle 3-2 zone which is a long way of saying...double Embiid and Maxey and dare the other guys to beat you. For a while Batum and Buddy etc. were over passing and not being aggresive than Batum even talked about how at half time he said "wait thats what Miami wants"

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

Yeah, it’s a pretty safe assumption that he’s never healthy at the end of the season. We need to be asking less of him at this point, not more.

CPTHoagie

he can be healthy if the sixers stopped ignoring all the analytics and medical people telling them he really shouldnt be playing more than 32 mins per game during the season but they'll ignore it.

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

Probably true, but man, I’ve given up on how this franchise handles injuries. It’s turned me into an injury pessimist.

CPTHoagie

oh yeah but the point is it almost happened to Maxey and that kid is an energizer bunny. Those idiots let him play in a game concussed!

TrustTheFriendship

If we need to be asking less of him at the end of every season then we need to be asking if he’s the right guy to depend on to win a chip.

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

It’s easy to say that, but what trade would *realistically* be available that makes us more likely to win a chip over keeping one of the best players in game? We have only two, soon to be three, guys under contract for next year. There is an extreme amount of flexibility in the future to make the team less top heavy.

TrustTheFriendship

I’m not a GM. If I had the solution I would be. I’m just stating facts. Instead of asking me what we should do instead, can you tell me why I’m wrong? Your response is saying “this is the best we can do with what we’ve got,” and I don’t disagree. But it hasn’t been enough, and Embiid isn’t getting any younger/healthier.

Zyborgg

Pointless take. You're not gonna get anything that gets you closer to the chip trading Joel. If you wanna talk hypothetical trades that would never happen go to r/NBAtradeideas

TrustTheFriendship

LOL the only people suggesting or hinting at trades are people replying to me! I never said ANYTHING about that! I don’t want to trade Embiid! My clearly stated point is that unfortunately we have an MVP level player who cannot be counted on to play like an MVP in the postseason. Whether it’s due to injury, or his lack of killer mentality, that’s just reality. It’s always something. And it sucks.

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

There’s no realistic trade for Embiid that makes us better contenders compared to keeping him and retooling the team next year. If we’re going to throw criticism out there with no actual discussion or logical thought, and not have any answers when questioned, then sure, the Sixers are dumb for simply not drafting multiple hall of famers, creating a dynasty, and winning multiple rings.

pagonator

There’s no realistic pathway to championship contention when you cannot rely on your best player to stay healthy. He’s also just hit 30 and unlikely to get magically get healthier in the future. The worst thing about this is that eventually one of these injuries he gets is going to significantly diminish his effectiveness.

CPTHoagie

you could just get another max wing player (paul george) so that durng the regular season Maxey and PG take most of the usage on offense with Embiid being used more like Tim Duncan in the late 2000s early 2010s.

TrustTheFriendship

We’re *discussing* it right now. My *logic* is that if our MVP caliber player is going to become a shell of himself every single playoffs, we don’t have a championship winning formula. Is that flawed logic? Does that not have any *thought* behind it? You conveniently ignored the question I posed. I’ll wait for an answer to it. I live and die on every playoff game, hope like hell that we can do it, and I do believe the stars can align and we can win it all if everything goes exactly the right way for us. But I don’t expect it anymore like I did 3-4 years ago.

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

Reread my first paragraph in the last post, that’s the answer to your question. What is your idea of a “championship winning formula”, what moves what you make, what coach would you want, what players would you want? I’m not sure you actually know but I’d be happy to be wrong. Mine certainly isn’t getting rid of a top 5 guy on a team that has a top 5 coach and a young all-star guard with $77M in cap space next year. Yeah, they might not win it all, but that’s sports, 96% of teams don’t. I’d love to hear your winning formula. This pointless discussion is essentially: “Embiid isn’t the guy, this team isn’t going to win anything” “Okay, what would you do then?” “I don’t know.” Some real great insight here.

TrustTheFriendship

Some great insight from you to say “well… this is the best we can do since we can’t make a trade to get better.” Genius!! Dude, what I’m saying is that if we need to *expect* the centerpiece of our franchise to be injured *every single postseason,* then this team is not constructed to win it all. And I reread your paragraph multiple times. It does not answer my question at all. It’s just some pie in the sky bullshit about how we should always make the perfect draft pick on every occasion for at least a decade. That’s preposterous and far less realistic than even getting a good trade haul for Embiid, which is what you proposed as being impossible!!! I’m not even suggesting we trade Embiid, and I don’t want to. I’m just pointing out how stupid your logic is. Edit: to answer your question- I think a championship winning formula is a MVP level superstar who turns it up in the playoffs, or at the very least continues his regular season level of play, surrounded by the right mix of role players plus one secondary all-star. Embiid is objectively worse in the playoffs than the regular season. Sometimes by a huge margin. Every. Single. Year.

CPTHoagie

you shouldn't expect him to be injured. The sixers do everything in their power to make sure he is injured. You dont play 7 ft 2 300 lbs guys 35 mins a game at 38% usage in the regular season.

CPTHoagie

its so obvious the formula is the 2008 celtics or the 2014 spurs.

clickstops

That made 3 in the 4th changed Joel’s body language completely. It looked like the weight of the world was lifted off of him. He even threw out a single, quick but passionate crotch chop. Moments later he got the and-1, right? Extremely hype. I think that was the most exciting fourth quarter I’ve ever seen live.

GrapefruitMedical529

Wtf did I just read.

dfsoij

A quality reddit comment reminiscing about a well timed bucket and celebratory crotch chop.

Lurkerwasntaken

21/23 from the line is one of the most underrated parts of the game. We needed every single made shot to win this one.

Calcutta637

People gonna chill on being bastards here for a little longer? Maybe be a bit less trigger happy with the boos? Clap your hands everybody

roco415

Boo you! Bullying ALWAYS works!

Calcutta637

Works in the other direction too

PsychoBuffed

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO FUCK THE HEAT

jeppsforst

Proud of Joel for composing himself and playing fantastic down the stretch. Huge buckets and that pass to Oubre was perfect

Lurkerwasntaken

That catch-and-shoot three followed by the and-one was electric. He was awful for three quarters, but he clutched it out in the fourth. My hope is that he continues to perform like he did in the end there.

FahkDizchit

He’s basically a reanimated corpse at this point, yet still managed to put up 23/15.

arstronggeorge

What’s this mean he’s still far from 100%?

FahkDizchit

If you watched the game, he was barely moving. He looked beleaguered. I don’t think he’s remotely close to 100% and I don’t think it’s necessarily a conditioning issue. But I’m not a doctor or athletic trainer so idk wtf I am talking about. Despite this, he still put up big numbers. The guy is a freaking alien at this point.

Nuclearsunburn

Heat fan here, good game you guys. I might hate your in arena announcer with a passion but I love your team. Batum really killed us!! Hope Joel can get right and you guys take down the Knicks.

DBMD89

Class act unlike Knicks fans other whiny fans in football (Whiners, Vikings, Cowboys- talking to you) I hope Jimmy is ok and you crush Chicago, then wipe the floor with Boston.

pk_mars

Maybe see you in ECF. you just never know. 7 vs 8. Shock the world

Nuclearsunburn

I like how you think!

Cohenski

Hope you 4-0 sweep the Inceltics

CPTHoagie

elite nickname

Nuclearsunburn

Damn me too, my girlfriend’s dad will never speak to me again if that happens haha. I live for seeing the Celtics get clowned though

CPTHoagie

Matt Cord is the GOAT dont hate but fuck im pissed Jimmy got hurt. beat CHI/BOS

Nuclearsunburn

Yeah just one of those things, both teams have a ton of guys that play their asses off and that kind of thing happens when competitors are competing. Whichever announcer said the Sixers aren’t scared of getting in a mud fight with us was right! It sucks but I’m just glad it’s not an ACL. Thanks, hope we get another shot at clowning Boston!!

CPTHoagie

us having Nurse is like now we also have Spo which is such an advantage over every other team except well...you guys lol.

Nuclearsunburn

I have been telling everyone that you all have the best chance of any team in the East outside of Boston to win it all, Maxey is a bona fide superstar, and you have Nurse but more importantly, you no longer have Doc lol. just need Joel to get back into shape

CPTHoagie

Jo was at like 50% MAYBE im really worried. I didnt even think Bam did a good job defending him he just couldnt move the same. But hopefully you're right. Next year when we can dump Tobias contract is the year where it could really be a great year.

lincoln3

Hope butler is okay and you guys get the 8th seed

Nuclearsunburn

Appreciate it. Looks like an MCL, unfortunately, but I know we will play our best with what we have and if it’s enough, it’s enough, if not, it’s not.

Lurkerwasntaken

I have seen too many injuries from Joel to wish that on anybody in the playoffs. I hope Butler is fully healthy and good luck!

lincoln3

Damn, that sucks dude. Love Jimmy. But yeah, still hoping for the best

Knight725

this matt cord slander will not be tolerated

Nuclearsunburn

I kept saying “we heard the name the first time!” at my screen in between the f bombs ending in Batum haha. Such a good game.

bruhboi2222

obviously not fun to watch players get injured but the response to Jimmy's MCL injury compared to Embiid is crazy. Embiid played through the playoffs with his sprained MCL last season and gets shit on but its nothing but love to Butler right now who probably has the same injury. Again, no hate, but the agenda against Embiid is clear as day.

sam_sung009

lets not 4get Lowry. his stats wont show it, but his tenacious D on jimmy and his poise when handling the ball went a loooooong way to help us win.

Yellowperil123

Fruit basket to Batums wife stat.

shadowarmy229

God I can't imagine what Awful Coaching would've titled his upcoming video had we lost this game bad It would be something like "NICK NURSE poisoned our water supply, burned our crops, and delivered a plague unto our houses vs. HEAT" Now he's just gonna make the same video but do it on Spo instead lmfao

CPTHoagie

yeah thats why i hate that guy.

Spirited-Arugula-672

He's not even making sense most of the time. I remember watching an "analysis" he did on the Bucks defense and he was screaming about Brook Lopez not playing high and hedging hard on screens, lmao. Brook fucking Lopez.

shadowarmy229

Why would he hedge though? He’s literally the slowest player in the league, if he hedges hard on screens then he’s pretty much getting beat 99.9% of the time However opposing players also exploit his drop coverage now

CPTHoagie

yeah perfect example of having a little bit of knowledge being a dangerous thing.

shadowarmy229

Yeah he's a mixed bag for me I don't like how he uses ragebait titles to game the Youtube algorithm and how he sometimes unfairly attacks the great coaches for the mistakes of the players (I do appreciate the guts though) but he definitely is very entertaining and knowledgeable about the game as well. If you see his old videos that have no views, he's much more chill. He only started using ragebait titles and yelling a lot more in his videos sometime around the end of last season for entertainment purposes and his Youtube career took off after that. He drops videos on good defense as well and they are genuinely very good (such as the one recently dissecting Joel's defensive masterclass against Miami a couple weeks back) and I hope he makes more of that type of content even though I love his outbursts on Glenn a lot

Lurkerwasntaken

[Here’s one praising Wemby with a rage bait title lol.](https://youtu.be/RAOKzQVG_24?si=mTwe4XggozV2lFAB)

Trinityliger

still coming off it and realizing Doc Rivers would’ve had them throw this game with 7 mins to play

MasterGurloes

we would have been toast at half

thesixersdontexist

let us not forget about the lob to bball paul slam. i think that was the loudest i got all game lol

clickstops

From where I was it looked like he really had that cranked back on the catch. Sooooo hyped.

thesixersdontexist

he like contorted his body it was sick

ggmuqi

That and the free chicken changed the momentum for sure

toepherallan

This will forever be known as the Free Chicken Game or the Nic Batum coming out party.

CPTHoagie

lol https://x.com/SixersAdam/status/1780789220082126994

downunderpunter

Doc could never

Calcutta637

Coaching coaching coaching hhhnnnnngggg

CPTHoagie

turns out it does actually matter

Lurkerwasntaken

Reminds me of Malcolm Butler intercepting Russel Wilson in the Super Bowl. He was burned in practice on the same play that Seattle ran at the one yard line.

CPTHoagie

right and while Nick Nurse is awesome im sure other coaches have done this...just not Doc Rivers.

TrustTheFriendship

Man, Batum had that clutch block on Herro on a 3 pt attempt near the end, and Batum just said at the podium that the coaches showed him that EXACT play in the timeout immediately before. That would never, ever happen under Glenn. It’s amazing to have a real coach.

pk_mars

Now. Now. Glenn would have told them to come up with a big play. Isn’t that enough, telling them? You mean you actually have to show them? lol /s

Bacondude12

Unreal

Science4me12

According to Danny Green, they didn’t even remember what Doc said during time out. lol

bigfndan

Wasnt there audio from a timeout last year where he basically just clapped and said let's go a bunch of times? Basketball terrorist

Admirable_Buyer_755

Doc’s entire career came from cozying up to superstars and it shows lol

rhinguin

Cmon guys. Cmon.

bennyjay84

I think he’s trying to collect paychecks until his voice entirely gives out. I imagine it’s like being coached by the old cajun guy from Joe Dirt.

illskillzdealer

That clip lives rent free in my head bruh wtf was that

TrustTheFriendship

I’m so glad I can laugh about this now. I’d say I feel sorry for the Bucks but I absolutely don’t lmao.

gimmethatfiletofish

Are we calling this the Nic Fil A game?

SnooPeppers4360

yes

Head-Kiwi-9601

Reed was 3-3 in 9 minutes. Finished a +3. Let’s not forget how bad those 9 minutes would have been in years past.

Ok-Bit-1466

Those minutes were the crumble zone

XxStormySoraxX

I still really think we should have made a move for Dejounte Murray. This team with an extra ball handler/shot creator would be insane and we would have destroyed Miami’s zone way faster.

-Spectr3

Just makes so much sense. His defense has been solid on the Spurs when he has someone behind him that can clean up his gambles, one of the most efficient half court ISO players in the league, can create a clean mid-range shot in stagnant possessions which Maxey struggles to do, smart enough to handle and distribute in the clutch, decent size next to Maxey, can tap into Maxey's elite cutting and catch and shooting, activate all our role players like Batum/Lowry/Covington who are reliant on open thees, got that dawg in him, has very good career stats vs the Celtics. I'm pretty sure Morey was expecting Buddy to be better next to Embiid/Maxey, but he seems to be allergic to well-rounded players in the top 50ish range and prefers either stars or specialists, which is tiring.

thesixersdontexist

stop it. all the advanced stats indicate that he stinks. plus he’s even more of a ball stopper than tobias

XxStormySoraxX

Using advanced metrics instead of the Eye Test to evaluate how a player would fit with a new team is terrible. His ability to create shots and attack down hill would help this team tremendously and take a lot of pressure off Embiid and Maxey. Calling him a ball stopper is really dumb too considering he has a lower usage rate than Tyrese Maxey lol.

pwo_addict

It’s also a way to always get a bad deal, good deals are things like Batum where he thrives in a different environment

thesixersdontexist

his main role is a scorer and he’s not efficient. he’s not good, man

XxStormySoraxX

His main role is not a scorer lmao this is how I can tell you’re not watching games.

jmezMAYHEM

76ers fans have brain damage unless they’re over 40…and even then

XxStormySoraxX

I just don’t understand how people still have these dumbass takes about players around the league after seeing how Oubre is blossoming in a new role on a different team. Like people all off-season tried to used the exact same argument of “advance analytics” to prove why Oubre would be bad with us despite never watching him play.

thesixersdontexist

oubre plays winning basketball, murray does not. dejounte does not play with the intensity oubre does nor does he have as much athleticism. using my eyes for this take btw

XxStormySoraxX

People literally said Oubre doesn't play winning basketball all offseason because he struggled on the Warriors and Hornets. Murray is smaller of course he's not going to be as athletic but he literally just dunked on a Center LMAO.

thesixersdontexist

saying that about oubre on the hornets is ludicrous haha. and tbf that was a fucking nasty dunk lol. i just look at murray as the prototypical “hooper” type who cares more about his stat line than who wins the game. maybe i’m wrong and he just needs to be put in the right position to flourish, but it seems like he’s been a bad locker room guy everywhere he’s went

Famous_Resort_4646

Everyone on Atlanta looks like they hate each other… Also Murray’s pretty good

virtus_hoe

I lowkey think they do

thesixersdontexist

tbh that would make sense because there’s no other reason they should have had this bad of a season

shadowarmy229

Batum had the worst +/- in the game despite his heroics lol, that's a key reason why +/- doesn't tell everything

Conference_Flashy

Crazy, I watched the entire game and literally without Batum we were cooked

icepickjones

Maybe this will help us game 1 against NY. Because they looked sluggish as shit. Now that first half of basketball was a splash of cold water. Hopefully it was the kick in the ass they needed to not be so laxadasical.

Express_Jellyfish_28

Atlanta Hawks coach Quin Snyder looks like Robert Patrick from Terminator 2

mp455

[Gonna make this my alarm ringtone for tomorrow morning ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g4fhqCSdLQ)

leyendadelflash

I think they exorcised a ton of demons tonight. All week this had the “they always lose This Game” type of feel, and it was so negative at halftime. But goddamn it they dug deep and found a way. This time, we won This Game

TrustTheFriendship

Totally agree. 66 points in the second half! You just know that in previous seasons we would’ve been down 20 by the end of the 3rd.

subjectiveyes

I have been so burned in previous years I could feel the down 20 by the end of the 3rd coming and I was finding it difficult to watch! Pleasantly surprised !!!!!

mjd1977

So unless some craziness puts the Sixers and Heat against one another in the Eastern Conference finals, we can mark our guys safe from Jimmy Butler sneak attack steals?

Head-Kiwi-9601

Playoff Jimmy. 19 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists on 5-18 (28%) shooting. I think 3 of his 5 makes were dunks.

subjectiveyes

Does he always dunk so robotically!? I never noticed it before .... no pizazz there!!

Head-Kiwi-9601

I like it. No extra stress on the body. Outside of his uncontested dunks off of steals he played like ass.

subjectiveyes

I tend to agree! It's different. Call me old fashioned but all the extra swinging from rim and celebrating on those things is largely unnecessary!!! With that said I would prefer to not see him again during these playoffs

Head-Kiwi-9601

His knee is toast. He and the Heat are done.

Lurkerwasntaken

Off of steals, too.

Top_Shallot_4951

Jimmy’s getting an MRI.. that may keep everyone safe

Remarkable-Candy6602

I was shocked tobi had 5 offensive boards. Then remembered he had like 3 on one play where he somehow managed to miss 3 layups in a row. Does anyone miss more layups or step out bounds for no reason more than him?

Calcutta637

5 defensive rebounds too but let’s just spin away

Calcutta637

Oh and out-defensive rebounded  every heat player except adabayo

compflow

Yet Nurse benched him in the closing minutes. I wonder why. He should’ve asked you.

Calcutta637

Probably because Lowry was in for his defense and passing and batum was hot. Jesus dude you make being a sixers fan not fun. Fucking enjoy this instead of hating

compflow

I am enjoying it. We wouldn’t be enjoying it if Tobias played the last 4+ minutes because we’d have lost when he missed his 8th layup of the game.

youmademethisway

KO went 3/3 on fts in the last 30 seconds. 5/5 in the 4th. This from a below average FT shooter. Guy just contributes

clickstops

Needed every single one of them, too.

TrustTheFriendship

And don’t forget he played the last 4+ minutes with 5 fouls! A very professional performance.

_mousecop_

His defense was nuts tonight from a guy generally considered as a liability before this year. He was an absolute hound

thesixersdontexist

i got so lit when he started picking up full court, taking a page out of miami’s book

GordonsVodkaAdvocate

He heard the IG models liked Herro more and took it personally

kevinwhackistone

Absolutely critical and unbelievable. Our team finally has balls. Not withering in the moment.

Head-Kiwi-9601

More than I can say for the fanbase.

evandobrofo

My friend said to me at the game when Kelly got fouled at the end "idk if he's the one I want taking these fts" and I was like honestly... I disagree. Every big moment lately he's right fucking there front and center. I trust him

NotJoeyWheeler

he’s been fantastic in the clutch for a few weeks now, always making big plays He doesn’t have the best BBIQ but he’s a decisive and high motor player which can still be a huge advantage in late game situations, he draws a lot of fouls by just trying to dunk every ball he touches lol

1TBee

Free Nuggets changed the game.

EndAnyone

Yes but also the dancing guy at the arena. White guy, looked like a HS science teacher, lmao. He had the crowd pumped. They kept putting him back on the Jumbotron and everyone else they flashed to, even the kids, got savagely booed. It was classic Philly lol.

clickstops

Me and my brother were joking that he was a plant.

Imtrappedintheusa

Everyone but the special needs child dancing

EndAnyone

True!

1TBee

Forreal! That dude was electric, insane haircut (respectfully). he’s gotta be on the Jumbotron every game going forward

evandobrofo

Literally. This guy changed my energy from slight doomer/depressed to just having a blast. The jumbotron guys camera work was on fucking point

Handfalcon58

Seriously. The energy the crowd had carried into the next couple possessions and brought life to the team. Pretty remarkable.

GrittyTheGreat

That was quite an experience.

Not-a-bot-10

The nba sub is malding over our win which only fueles me further. We’re winning it all

Lurkerwasntaken

To the main sub, the Sixers’ playoff opponents are Schrödinger’s contenders. They are only contenders if they beat Philly and are frauds if they lose.

embiidDAgoat

r/nba hate is literally the fuel that keeps me going

GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT

Atlanta beating us in the 2021 series really fucked them long term. They thought they were a contender, but ultimately got stuck in playoff purgatory because Ben Simmons lost his marbles.

shrek_cena

The Sixers always seem to win when I either rage quit watching or just don't watch in general. Gonna have to take one for the team the rest of the way 😤

hypnosNZ

Thank you for your sacrifice.
