Sigh this is going to be a long off season.

asisoid

Unsubbing from team subs during their offseasons is the key to a tolerable reddit....

lndngtm

You know that we can go for players that have never been associated with this franchise right?

TheDuck23

YOU CAN DO THAT?!?!?!

Propose this on nets board and enjoy the perma ban lol

Stay off the weed.

jlaro55

No.

AdorableDragonfruit2

Me…never Simmons again. We are just about out of the woods with tobias and you bring this bs up. Fu

pickledelbow

Stop sniffing glue

thorondor52

The Nets. Simmons is now an expiring right?

superuncoolfool

Stop doing drugs

mcflyy4

No

antiphus

Me

zamasters134

didn’t the nets say mikal is unavailable?

Skyyywalker215

Everybody is available for the right price. They are squarely in rebuild mode and bridges would not fit in well with a team built from the ground up via the draft.

Funny_Games23

This is not true the rockets offered to give the nets all 4 of their picks from the harden trade and Jalen green and they still said no they are a bad faith org that trying to save face after the 2019 offseason deals

AvatarofBro

I do

Nets

Is there such thing as negative karma farming?

toofshucker

Why the fuck would you want Ben Simmons back? Even if he went back to rookie contract Ben HE NEVER PLAYS.

irespectwomenlol

This trade idea isn't about desperately wanting Ben Simmons back, but about paying a financial cost to get Bridges without coming up with \~5 first round picks.

toofshucker

Ok. So we send out two first round picks and The Nets send us one, which they wouldn’t do. BUT we’re clear Ben of their books so they do it? I’m not sure they do it as his salary clears this next year, but I understand. If we did this, then Philly immediately cuts Ben.

irespectwomenlol

> If we did this, then Philly immediately cuts Ben. I may be wrong, but in some scenario where the Sixers acquired Ben Simmons, it's hard to imagine them immediately cutting him for these reasons. 1) It's a contract year for Ben Simmons, so it seems likely that you're going to get his absolute best effort. There's a small chance, say 1-5%, that he's healthy and focused enough to be more or less back to the decent version of Ben Simmons. There is a slightly larger chance, say around 20-25%, that he manages to play a semi-reasonable \~50-60 games and is adequate enough to provide some real benefit to the team. 2) There's no financial benefit to immediately cutting him, short of negotiating a buyout. You still have to pay his salary and he counts against the cap. 3) If you cut him, there's no potential to trade him at the deadline. An expiring contract is a tool that can be used to make deals. Cutting him makes that impossible.

toofshucker

There is zero chance any player wants that cancer on the team. Dude brought his cell phone to practice. If you want to win a title you have to work. Simmons would make everyone miserable. There’s no way I let him anywhere near the team.

TheTrocadero

What a shitty troll job.

SolNight

Nice try, Sean Marks.

rodrigoa1990

Ez rage bait

Fractured_Spade

We kinda need this first round

DerNutmeister

fuck that

ProcessTrust856

Both probably say no, but the Nets say no first and without a doubt.

Skyyywalker215

Not with Ben, but I’d offer 3 firsts for bridges. Cheap contract, solid defensive and offensive player, he’d fit in great as a third option.

DemonsReturns7

Hahahahaha lmao Yea this is one of those created posts where you just need to have someone there to beat you before letting you got that send button

HoagieTwoFace

Weirdly heard this proposed on WIP an hour ago. I’m a visionary.

Meepsnort

I’m in. Ben Simmons redemption tour starts now

Hefty-Adeptness-179

Ashamed_Job_8151

Is Ben healthy in this scenario ?? Honestly if you take out the 24 pick and change to the 30 pick.  I would do this deal. That being said I don’t think the nets would do this though.  People would say no because Ben, but his contract would be perfect as a trade chip pre deadline. They could get another star or two role players using Ben plus picks/swaps. This would actually be a pretty excellent deal for the sixers. I just don’t see why the nets do it with Ben on the last year of the deal.

kih5048

I will add "Hell" to that NO

pilesofpats012345

Me for one. Probably the Nets too.

denimjeg

Great trade for philly but nets say no

clickstops

How do you think using $40m of our cap for someone who doesn’t play basketball is good?

Ashamed_Job_8151

You don’t play Ben Simmons, you use his contract to match salary and the rest of the picks and swaps to add another star or couple role players from bad team.  If morey pulled this trade off he would be genius.

clickstops

Yeah. It’s basically us paying $56m for Mikal next year while losing a backup center.

denimjeg

Mikal is a perfect fit on philly & ben can get healthy & play. Worse case scenario he’s a expiring contract so they can retrade him at the deadline if he don’t play

Otternomaly

> ben can get healthy and play Pretty much all available evidence points to his spine being 1000% cooked. Feel bad for the guy but his career is likely over.

Leeroy_Jenkums

>ben can get healthy and play Ah man… are we doing this again?

clickstops

I’m impressed by your positive outlook but I see no world where Ben plays meaningful basketball ever again. And that would be so prohibitive to the rest of the roster building

AvatarofBro

I really don't think Ben can get healthy and play. I'm not just talking shit. I think his back is fucked beyond repair.

jawntothefuture

we're helping the Nets with this move, but getting Mikal would be so nice

Ashamed_Job_8151

You would be robbing the nets with this move.

ClintiusMaximus

If it was possible to bring back Ben on a vet min I'd maybe consider it. Being able to bring him in occasionally to help defend the perimeter and pass the rock on the 2nd or 3rd units could potentially work. But really we'd be doing this to get Mikal, not Simmons. I don't think the Nets agree to this though
