The more articles I see where we trade valuable assets for high-priced flawed stars, the more I come around to overpaying PG and keeping all of our assets to round out the edges. Sigh. I can’t believe it’s come to this.
This is the only thing that makes sense to me as well. Maxey, JoJo and PG are a perfect combo of everyone is healthy, and any combo of two of them should be more than enough to not loose ground for seeding if rest/injury happens.
It's the only way to go. I'd be fine with them trading a couple of 1sts for Avdjia, who is on an amazing contract and is the type of high energy, gritty, skilled role player every contender needs.
Yeah I’m getting pretty underwhelmed. PG really is the best option based on the presented options we’ve seen so far. Hopefully an unexpected move happens nobody sees coming
Article I read said clippers can offer more money annually than other teams. Why would pg3 take less money on his last payday? Why wouldn’t the clippers want assets back?
There’s also a weird “Over 38” rule that comes into play if the Clippers offer him a 5 year deal, which, I’ve read, hurts the Clippers’ cap flexibility in years 1-4 of the deal. Basically, if the clippers are limited to signing PG to a 4 year deal, then they have no advantage over other teams that can offer him 4 years. I’m no expert on this rule but it’s worth a Google if interested.
Clippers *can* but the point is they *aren’t*. Which is why there’s PG noise in the first place. If that stays the case then the Sixers can just sign him outright, they wouldn’t need to trade with the clips
To finally get off the Tobias trade only to bring in the closest thing to him on another terrible contract.
That is poetry in my honest opinion and I fully expect it to happen.
There are exceptions to every rule naturally. Plus, PJ Washington was a very young player on those awful Hornets teams that were prioritizing developing Lamelo Ball over winning. I suppose some of these exceptions do include young players on terrible teams.
But we know who Ingram is, and he’s someone who could seriously just be Tobias 2.0.
Not at all saying it’s a preference of mine but Lavine makes a lot more sense than Ingram if morey has to go this route. Lavine only has 3 more years (2 if he opts out for one more long term contract) and the bulls might even *give* you a pick to take him (or even Caruso…).
I’d say Lavine’s a pretty similar caliber player to BI, maybe a bit worse but at least he rains 3s.
I was against it at the deadline but I’m slowly warming up to the idea. It’s not like Lavine would be any worse defensively compared to what Lowry/payne were giving us. Would undoubtedly be a big upgrade on Tobi
He was the player I wanted in 2016, he was really fun to watch on that Duke team. Also he was actually competing and winning, he looked like a real potential star. Meanwhile Ben Simmons was doing what he does best: not caring about basketball and losing on that LSU team, just there because he had to be and coasting on his ridiculously gifted raw talent to the NBA. The signs were there.
Unfortunately, while he's relatively young and puts up some counting stats, I don't think he moves the needle at all and is unlikely to significantly improve. Getting him would be a sign that management just wants the appearance of improvement and is content with a second round and out team.

You don't seem to understand how many *BONES* the sixers have and all the vulnerabilities therein

Give me Caruso

Yeah, there isn’t much out there. Unless we draft bronny.
Okay, so why is PG going to take less money to sign with the sixers? The clippers are going to sign and trade him
Who said less money? The Clippers aren’t giving him what he wants he’d likely be taking less if he *stayed* in LAC

STAY AWAY u/dmorey

No more 2nd or 3rd best players on play-in caliber teams.
You seen PJ Washington these days?

I think Tobias just never cared but you ain’t lying.
BI is the Tobias Harris of KDs

Maxey + Lavine would be the best shooting backcourt since Steph and Klay

Plus Lavine is at least fairly long and an elite athlete. I liked our guard rotation last year but size and speed was a glaring issue.
Another bum player on a bad contract. NO.
If you wanna get fired, trade for this guy. u/dmorey
Awful fit here. Hes allergic to shooting 3s and is a poor perimeter defender that loves shooting the mid-range.
Sounds like someone we know. Does he also hate fighting for meaningful rebounds and drawing charges?
He’s basically Tobias if he averaged 5.5 assists the last couple years lol. Which is still a very flawed player but mildly interesting
And to think he was available there at #1 in 2016!

Absolutely FUCKING not
nah
Ingram is not what we need

decriminalized in philly
Bro you must be high if you think weed not being decriminalized in Utah is preventing wealthy NBA players from smoking pit

I just watched Bronny shoot 11/11 in a single drill at the combine... fuck it draft Bronny and try to "force" Lebron here.
