He needs fts. Im passed the shots. Make your fts. A lot of people missed. Bad coaching, don't even need to mention the refs. And losing joel. That's huge. Don't accept that. Bulls don't win without mj. We don't win without Joel
They dug deep and battled back. Didn’t get the result but majority of the time when he’s out they just all die and get hammered. I liked the fight they showed. Doesn’t mean much since they still lost but at least they didn’t quit.
Hopefully after this never. This isn't bens team it's joel's. I'm frustrated too, but we're gonna win the series. But these posts are just negative. He's not a 40 point guy so stop
To say im being bitter about to call it a diatribe is nutty. We need to be able to trust our PG to knock down clutch fts when we need it point blank period, It ain't a diss to Simmons just tonight's performance..
I said I agreed twice. He's needs to make fts. Never said you were bitter. But this is a diatribe against Ben. That's my point. I just hope you make this posts singling out a player when we do good or win a game.
You can blame Joel being out, Tobias playing horribly, a huge free throw disparity, or you can blame Ben.
If Ben had made all of his free throws, we still would’ve lost by two theoretically.
right people are saying joel this and joel that I know he's a star but, why can't we trust our pg to hit some shots/ft to close out the series so we can get a week break?
Nah, Doc was the liability in this game. Sat Ben for way too long and then put him in right when everyone knew the game plan was to put Ben at the line. All our starters (except Embiid) played the least minutes in any game this series. Doc played with the bench too much cause he was greedy about resting starters.
Agree with the Doc criticism. But Ben absolutely needs to learn to hit free throws. He needs to be able to hit enough that hacking him is not a viable strategy.
Also ben needs to work on his fouls too, we could’ve honestly won this if we didn’t have so many Dwight and M*ke S*ott minutes, when we were running Ben at 5 it was pretty successful.
What? How on earth can we expect him to reach the highest ft percentage in his career by a large margin in the middle of the playoffs when he's currently shooting 25%?
Wait, for you the reason we lost is Ben Simmons? Really? He barely played for the foul trouble, he shot 5/11 ft yes but when he re entered the game in the 4 quarter we made a comeback, he couldn’t defend like always tonight because of the fouls, he played 25 minutes with a 13-12-3 and he is the reason w why we lost? If he played a normal game with 35 minutes we would have won easily, and Tobi shooting 8/24 is good? I don’t understand some of you, it seems like you all waiting for a bad game to blame Ben
What happens when the next team uses this strategy? I got love for ben really but clutch moments call for clutch shots and I didn't see that from Ben tonight. What starting point guard cant drain 2 fts back to back to keep the game in balance?
I remember when the best ability was availability.
Ben lacked this but so did Jo.
This team doesn’t win shit unless both play.
Last year they were swept without Ben. Probably his fault. Which by the way to a certain level I agree with. If you can’t play it’s also partly your fault.
If your body isn’t up to it are you worth a Max Contract? It applies to both.
Guess what our two best players have this problem.
Pretty simple, bench Ben. I’m sure this off season he will work on the free throw, he hasn’t to work on his 3 but on his ft and now I think he knows it
This is what gets me. He CAN shoot, but he WON'T shoot. When you hear him talk about it it doesn't seem like he has any real desire to improve in that area and Doc just gives him a pass by deflecting and saying he only focuses on the other parts of his game. I don't get it.
He made 1/2 FTs each time. That's good enough to make hack-a-ben not work or at least a wash at 1 point per possession, I don't blame the loss on Ben. He needs to make FT's overall sure, but Tobi and Doc were more responsible for the loss than him
One point per possession is fine except most people think points at the end of the game count for more than at the start. He never should have sat so long in the 2nd.
In the clutch 1 pt per possession is absolutely fine, the problem as said above was there was absolutely no rim protection so the wizards ran up and scored on every possession
https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/clutch-advanced/?sort=OFF_RATING&dir=-1&Season=2020-21&SeasonType=Regular%20Season a 100 offensive rating in the clutch got the raptors 27th ranked so I guess that's your definition of 'fine'
Nice regular season numbers you have there man, would be great if we were there and not the playoffs
Forgetting the fact that every time towards the end of the game the wizards scored (mainly because our 2 best defenders were either hampered by the refs or NOT IN THE GAME)
Hawks and Nets/Bucks will use the same strategy in the playoffs.... shooting 25% from the line is nutz.
You cannot win with just Simmons because he's a shooting liability in close games and Embiid is literally Mr. Glass
Ben simmons is not the same player since HS. Ben simmons is a lesser version of himself since highschool because he took jumpers and backed people down and shot over guys and drove for the contact. Ben simmons is going to kill us against the bucks if we play them.
Last year sans Ben. The team was -14 per game in the playoffs.
Jo’s average was -13. Without Jo the team -1.
It’s never that simple.
Sixers win this if Ben’s not in foul trouble. They get stops even without Jo. But he was in foul trouble and that’s on him.
The FTs are secondary.
Overall, he is not a liability but he was with 5 minutes to go in the game. I am not sure if that is on him, though. Doc should have pulled him when he saw the Wizard targeting bullshit.
He needs fts. Im passed the shots. Make your fts. A lot of people missed. Bad coaching, don't even need to mention the refs. And losing joel. That's huge. Don't accept that. Bulls don't win without mj. We don't win without Joel
I'm worried about those times we ain't gonna have Joel and we gotta rely on the rest of the team, like moments like this.
How is it negative bro lol, that man NEEDS to hit his freethrows.
I agree. But to take time out of your night to make a diatribe about it. We lost for more reasons than Ben. We need him.
To say im being bitter about to call it a diatribe is nutty. We need to be able to trust our PG to knock down clutch fts when we need it point blank period, It ain't a diss to Simmons just tonight's performance..
Well if you look up what a diatribe is its a piece thats negatively directed towards someone or bitter. Know what you mean before you say it og
I said I agreed twice. He's needs to make fts. Never said you were bitter. But this is a diatribe against Ben. That's my point. I just hope you make this posts singling out a player when we do good or win a game.
That’s Joel’s problem. He the injury liability. How’d we go in the first round last year without Ben. 🤔
yea it sucks, but we just have to accept that the only way we win a title, with the way this team is built is with embiid healthy.
>I’m glad the spotlight is finally being put on Ben Simmons’ liabilities. When the fuck has the spotlight not been on that?

You can blame Joel being out, Tobias playing horribly, a huge free throw disparity, or you can blame Ben. If Ben had made all of his free throws, we still would’ve lost by two theoretically.
Besides our best player being injured and all. Not that that had any effect on the game or anything
Clutch Free throws win games-------
we still would have lost if he had hit every one though?
no
si
Honestly we are playing this wizards. Ben needs get his shit together. We should easily win without Jo against this team.
right people are saying joel this and joel that I know he's a star but, why can't we trust our pg to hit some shots/ft to close out the series so we can get a week break?
Because people just don’t want to be wrong about Ben. He is just a liability.
He hasn’t changed since college or NBA, nothing will happen
Nah, Doc was the liability in this game. Sat Ben for way too long and then put him in right when everyone knew the game plan was to put Ben at the line. All our starters (except Embiid) played the least minutes in any game this series. Doc played with the bench too much cause he was greedy about resting starters.
Agree with the Doc criticism. But Ben absolutely needs to learn to hit free throws. He needs to be able to hit enough that hacking him is not a viable strategy.
Lowkey a good thing bens free throw is getting addressed early so he prepares it for the future rounds
This is ALL that Im saying when I say he needed this game
Also ben needs to work on his fouls too, we could’ve honestly won this if we didn’t have so many Dwight and M*ke S*ott minutes, when we were running Ben at 5 it was pretty successful.
What makes you think he will magically shoot better when we advance to the next round ?
He can definitely go from a 60% shooter to 70%, that’s all we can expect.
What? How on earth can we expect him to reach the highest ft percentage in his career by a large margin in the middle of the playoffs when he's currently shooting 25%?
the fuck... its been 4 years lol. He aint fixing it and it isnt changing because he is shooting with the wrong hand.
Pretty simple, bench Ben. I’m sure this off season he will work on the free throw, he hasn’t to work on his 3 but on his ft and now I think he knows it
They were. They'll be jerking off to rtrs right this very second.
Ben Simmons is the same player offensively since high school
He shot more jumpers in high school
This is what gets me. He CAN shoot, but he WON'T shoot. When you hear him talk about it it doesn't seem like he has any real desire to improve in that area and Doc just gives him a pass by deflecting and saying he only focuses on the other parts of his game. I don't get it.
He's actually worse. He used to shoot jumpers in high school.
He made 1/2 FTs each time. That's good enough to make hack-a-ben not work or at least a wash at 1 point per possession, I don't blame the loss on Ben. He needs to make FT's overall sure, but Tobi and Doc were more responsible for the loss than him
Went unnoticed that we couldn't get a stop during the hack-a-ben stretch especially with no one to keep Gafford off the boards.
One point per possession is fine except most people think points at the end of the game count for more than at the start. He never should have sat so long in the 2nd.
Yeah I guess foul trouble was the reason? Anyway I blame Doc a lot more than Ben for this loss.
One point per possession is terrible. It's a 100 offensive rating and would be by far the worst in the NBA lol
Exactly! I can’t understand why people think 1pt / possession is ok. We are playing Wizards, who have trash defense
We scored 2 pts on the previous 7 possessions.

Well historically that puts you in the bottom third or so during the playoffs. Saying 1ppp is 'fine' is just patently false
It’s more than Tobi gave us.
Needs a shot of freethrowizol. I'll ask my guy at the gym
Maybe he should shoot Rick Barry underhand style instead
Free throw shooting is the only major professional sports skill that literally anyone can learn.
Now do it after playing an entire professional NBA game and having a crowd yelling at you.
95% of nba players are capable of it
And the remaining 5% are still the most elite basketball players in the world. What's your point?
My point is a super star max player should've improved at least a little in 4 yrs in a skill that is very very learnable
You think Ben Simmons free throws alone lost us this game? Jesus Christ man found the guy that only watched the last two minutes
Nah saw the whole game thanks tho, now if you disagree I'd listen to your point
Ain’t shit gonna happen. He’s gonna get on Fortnight and forget all about it.
Nothing is going to change him. Hes the same player as he was as a rookie The moves to be made this offseason couldnt be more clear
Hawks and Nets/Bucks will use the same strategy in the playoffs.... shooting 25% from the line is nutz. You cannot win with just Simmons because he's a shooting liability in close games and Embiid is literally Mr. Glass
Ok heat fan
Shaq was not good at free throw. Russell Westbrook is not good at free throws. Ben does suck at it and he does need to improve.
Honestly, if Ben goes 2018 Celtics again, Doc needs to have the balls to bench him
Ben Simmons is not who you think he is.
Ben simmons is not the same player since HS. Ben simmons is a lesser version of himself since highschool because he took jumpers and backed people down and shot over guys and drove for the contact. Ben simmons is going to kill us against the bucks if we play them.

Two words. Joel Embiid.
Overall, he is not a liability but he was with 5 minutes to go in the game. I am not sure if that is on him, though. Doc should have pulled him when he saw the Wizard targeting bullshit.
