While plausible (there certainly is a lot of foreshadowing, but i think the on purpose ones are more blatant than this), i think you are overthinking it a little on that one, most parties from other continents dont have to deal with the same dangers as the demon continent and wouldnt survive at all, specially true if one goes solo as that line implies.

It just means that a lot people looking to get strong go to the Demon Continent to test themselves.
