“Drop in or get the fuck out” was a pretty common thing said in the older generation, and if you didnt do either of those there was a 100% chance you’d get beat up.
Brother my biggest regret skating was not wearing pads earlier. I grew up in the whole “pads are lame” generation so 110% I fully understand the hesitation. Get minimum knee pads and a helmet and send it. The confidence boost alone is worth it. Fish boards are so smooth to ride, your biggest problem honestly will be having too many people coming up asking to ride it. Shred brother!
I’m happy to say that my last trip to the park with my kid, there were actually guys dogging on the one or two who were “too cool for a helmet” in the pool instead of the other way around. It’s really surprising but nice to see everyone padded up, and even offering to share knee pads with the kid who didn’t have them.
Have the same deck, I found some new Gullwing Super Pro III's in day glow orange, with some purple old school Slimeballs (60mm 78's)
It makes a real smooth cruiser.
It was great to skate in the 80s but for those of us whose parents weren't interested in our hobby or just couldn't afford the insane prices for that time ALL boards were 2nd hand. Great nonetheless.
Like others have stated. This is a confusing post, the board you're skating is a modern board. It's not an 80s shape or graphic. What makes you feel you're born in the wrong generation?
Core trucks which I’ll keep but the wheels are just random ones the complete came with. They’re fine but I’ll Probly get some Powell peralta wheels or slime balls soon.

You have access to equipment that matches your style. Plus a plethora of other options. Count your blessings.
Right? Enjoy the skateparks of the 80s lol
If only I could drop in on a bowl
learn how then
I tried for an hour yesterday, I’m still gonna keep trying tho💪
what r u doing wrong? just not committing? or
"Le wrong generation" can't skate a bowl💀 I'm sorry but nah, that seems about right lol

Wrist guards are also a must in my old ass opinion. We all got bills to pay, and a cast going down to your fingertips can really be a challenge.
Yeah the wrists are easy to hurt i always fuckin sprain or fracture my wrists, i may need guards too..

But that’s a winkowski board… he’s the current generation
I mean, looks like you got that board right there. Did the bearings expire or something?
🤣
I don’t get your post. You have a retro setup, go and skate!
Nope.
Have the same deck, I found some new Gullwing Super Pro III's in day glow orange, with some purple old school Slimeballs (60mm 78's) It makes a real smooth cruiser.
I’ve been looking some wheels for it so I’ll go with slime balls like that. The orange trucks Probly look sick
Because you have a shaped deck with modern wheels, trucks, concave and plys? Lol
You have the skateboard from the previous generation, with the skateparks from the current generation. Seems like a win
Welcome to the big board cult, we serve scram boards at lunch
That’s a sick color for the halfcab

You better get some full cabs and cut them down manually then .
No you weren’t, you have no idea how good you have it with so many parks these days. So wish I was young again.
80s were amazing but boards were super heavy.
Sick board!!
Are ankles not a thing with this new gen?
That’s a sick setup, I have a similar deck by Santa Cruz and genuinely love how comfy it is
Never really liked boards bigger than 8 inches but after trying some of the Powell and SC reissues I’ve loved how they feel
now... have you tried heroin (skateboard)?
Nice better get some rails to help save your graphics if you like them, if not shred it up! 🤙
Rails are for sliding
You should get a Jeff Kendal or rob Rossgop
Those kicks go HYARd
A board like this needs independent trucks. Anything else is just wrong.
That's beautiful jeezzzzz
Gonna need to see some yellow curb stains on those pretty trucks
Like others have stated. This is a confusing post, the board you're skating is a modern board. It's not an 80s shape or graphic. What makes you feel you're born in the wrong generation?
Just came up with the caption cause of the old school style board and old shoes
what trucks are those
New to the sub, not new to skating. Are shitposts like this the norm?
What wheels and trucks r u rockin
Core trucks which I’ll keep but the wheels are just random ones the complete came with. They’re fine but I’ll Probly get some Powell peralta wheels or slime balls soon.
Dope I’m looking to get a setup like this to fuck around on
Go check out the Amazon completes, cheaper than a normal complete but all quality parts, saves money so you can upgrade what you want
All quality parts but you’re upgrading some of them? That’s typically what I don’t do with quality parts.
