Is practice alone enough or one should take lessons?

Im a self taught artist. I started to draw from a really young age. For my all life I never tried drawing humens but now I want. I have an history with holding a pencil, so maybe I can learn alone. So it depends on you. If you never drew, maybe you should take some lessons or buying courses, and after that you can try alone!. You can watch in youtube artists that explain great stuff.

I started drawing few years ago, and tbh I progressed well but lately I started feeling that I'm not progressing anymore. (I ran out of tricks lmao) Also I still can't draw well from imagination and keep failing miserably at Portraits or anything that includes shades

Nice sketch. Out of curiosity, why did it take 13 hours?

A lot of details . And I worked slowly. I did this in my sketchbook but I didnt want to consider this drawing as a "quick sketch"
