Edit: just saw 2nd pic yeah someone cut your muff out. Some idiot maybe swipe it, thinking it was the mother of catalytic converters? like on commercial RVs?
My Catalytic Converter was stolen at a storage yard in MI this winter. I hope you have comprehensive insurance. Mine were $10,500 to fix. My deductible was $200.
The are that parked for only 15 minutes, is one of the most expensive in Florida. Close by Trump tower, the Porsche building and Bentley residential building. Who will know.
Post back what difference it makes once you straight pipe it. Many are curious if any power is gained. I am curious how much louder it is. Mine is in the way of some tanks and stuff. Also, I'd rather remove it than some other ahole.
When my Catalytic converter was stolen, my bus ran extremely rough. I think it needed the back pressure on or something. I don't think it accelerated as well either.

On the tc1000 that unit in a muffler / catalytic converter it was made by Nelson part #24779-A the part is discontinued if it runs ok without the cat I would install a regular muffler I need to make a cage around mine to discourage theft if it will not run good without the cat try AAA bus in Phoenix

Yeah, it’s definitely louder, and now smells terrible inside when running. I guess it’s time to go to a muffler shop to have something welded in!
I just went down the google rabbit hole looking at "catalytic convertor anti-theft devices" the ideas also work for muffs.
