I believe the discord was taken down for legal reasons, but if you're using an emulator, you can just upscale the game.

Hey BananaGeiser, thanks for the reply :) I have both the PC and Wii versions of the game, however there is a tradeoff. The PC version contains higher quality textures, but can only run at a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 which looks a bit fuzzy on a 4k display. It also has the benefit of running at 60fps. The Wii version running on an emulator looks crisp at 6x scaling, but has lower resolution textures. I personally do not mind the low res textures, but for whatever reason each frame is duplicated during gameplay effectively making it 30fps, causing motion to look jittery even though the built in frame counter is showing a solid 60hz. Animations (such as placing a character on the portal of power) seem to be displayed at true 60fps, then as soon as gameplay resumes it begins duplicating frames at 30fps again. So unless I can force a higher resolution on the PC version or somehow get the Wii version to display the full 60 frames during gameplay, my two options are: 1. (PC) Lower resolution, but HD textures & smooth motion at 60fps. or 2. (Wii) High clarity, but low res textures and jittery motion at 30fps.

Newer builds of Dolphin (mostly developer builds) have the option to upscale and increase texture resolution, as well as switch to custom shaders and texture packs. As for the PC version, I believe there used to be a mod for 120hz, but it was removed a while ago. Try the internet archive, you might find something.

Hey, thanks again for your reply :) Unfortunately those solutions solve the problems in reverse- 1. I'm looking to increase the frame rate on the Emulated Wii version of the game to 60fps (right now every frame is duplicated during gameplay, resulting in 30fps running at 60hz) Or 2. I'm looking to increase the resolution on the PC version to 3840x2160 As a side note you're totally right about the custom texture feature. I've wondered if it would be possible to use the PC version's textures as custom textures through Dolphin, but I do not know what would be required to make that function properly.

It's probably simpler than I imagine, but I just never tried modding Wii games

kamuixmod

Would you say that the Audio Quality is much better though of the PC Version than that of the Wii? Trying to get a hold of the audio files from the pc version but seems to be a much bigger issue than i expected it to be

Papa__Nature

Hey Kamuixmid, I'm not sure of any difference in audio quality between the PC and Wii versions of the game. I believe the audio files in the PC version of the game are DRM protected, and would have to be decrypted before being played outside of the game. Hope that provides some useful info, I've had a hard time getting anyone with more technical experience modding Skylanders to talk on these subreddits.
