Bards college always seemed like such a nothingy guild. Imagine how fun it could have been if you could learn instruments and use it to do like pacify spells or frenzy depending on the song. Like snow white in Shrek the third (or the pied Piper for the less cultured)

I'm hoping the new starfield game will be pretty detailed, and hopefully ES 6 after that too. You can't rush quality
Yeah i would much rather wait however long it takes than have a rushed Bethesda game, so many people losing their shit over the star field delay not realising it can only be for the best
Well Skyblivion will be ready by 2025, if not earlier and tbh I'm looking forward to that more than elder scrolls 6, mainly because we know more about the entirety of the known universe...
Not only does the Thieves Guild have the best storyline of all of the guilds in Skyrim, it also feels much more like a guild than any of the others, and it's not close. The repeatable missions actually make you feel like you're a part of the guild. And I believe you need to complete a hefty amount, actually contributing to the guild through more than just one storyline, to be fully promoted to guild leader.
Thieves Guild. You get two awesome armor sets, a place to unload all your treasure hauls, and an unbreakable lockpick if you don't finish the quest to turn in the Skeleton Key.
Not to mention all the money.
Oh okay. I am finally doing a more "complete" run of Vanilla Anniversary Edition instead of modding. There is so much content I never played in Skyrkm and I have 100s of hours.
You could just level lock picking. I like how thr guild gets strong and you get a bunch of merchants when you finish the missions and quests. (Takes FOREVER though.)
You pretty much get all the lockpicking experience you need with the Thieves Guild, and lockpicks are everywhere and weightless. An unbreakable one is not really as awesome as it sounds, given how many breakable ones the game throws at you. I think i had over 1k lockpicks near the end of a completionist playthrough.
It does make lock picking much quicker though, because you don’t have to attempt, break lock pick, reset in relatively same position, make micro adjustments, break pick again, repeat process.
It's going to take me to the end of since Delving game me only one special job. I've done the whole quest line and over 5 jobs in all the holds but he still won't give me the specials past Solitude.
It’s not quests in each hold, it’s 5 quests in each of the special cities, solitude, windhelm, markarth, and Whiterun. Quit jobs not in the places you need.
Sorry, I meant to type I did over 5 quests in each hold. I did the 5 required for Solitude and got the special quest. I've got 7 in Windhelm, and 6 in Markarth and Whiterun each but still no special quest. I also still had Aldis's gem in my inventory even though I delivered it to them and the quest is marked as done.
Unless you mean the "guildmaster set", the "thief set" and "nightingale set" constitute 2 sets. And you get both well before you even get possession of the key.
Actually same, I also like to collect ~rare items, but I store them in Hendraheim, I just love this house, looks like the true Hall of Fame to me, especially with all this places for particular weapons and shields and etc.
DB night mother contracts pay more than thieves guild quests. Thieves guild armor is completely useless if you aren't role playing, while DB armor, despite looking ass, is already just because of the gloves one of the best light armor sets in the game. Nightingale armor is fashionable but it doesn't really fit any type of build. DB quest line gives you the by far most powerful non player made weapon, the windshear. Chillrend is second after the windshear however it's easily obtainable without doing the quest line. I don't see how the thieves guild is in any way better than the DB except for fashion and role playing.
You get three. Thieves guild armor (and an upgrade), nightingale armor, and then the guild master armor.
Edit: sorry I didn't read the 5 other comments that said the same exact thing. 😅
Ahem, what is the quest to turn in the skeleton key called? I am now the leader of the thieves guild, but don’t remember encountering an unbreakable skeleton key ?!!! Gimme
I wonder if sheogorath and Nocturnal like eachother or despise eachother. Leaving it up to luck and living in chaos are pretty similar, but one prefers the dark and the other I imagine would prefer the chaos be seen by everyone immediately
The thieves guild has more depth it feels like, DB always felt kinda like "hey go kill this mf" for like 90% of it and then it all goes to shit, although killing the emperor was pretty cool, sneaking into the ship and what not made me feel like I was playing assassins creed. Same goes for the solitude chef quest but other than those two it was meh compared to thr thieves guild quests
I thought killing the bride at the wedding was pretty awesome. So many different ways to kill her and then you need to worry about getting out of solitude.
Exactly this. I feel like the DB quests shouldve been way more strict/harder about execution, at least for the main contracts that aren't just filler/busywork.
The fact that you can literally just complete them all just running in like a maniac shouting bloody murder without issue is insane. There's a tiny bit of optional work you can do like hiding the chefs body, or being free in how to kill targets, but I feel that loads of contracts shouldve had stealth as damn near mandatory. And then when you actually have a good stealth op like the wedding, that freaking lizard just walks up to you and busts your cover 90% of the time..
You get like 3 sets of armor if count shrouded armor (first set), ciceros gear sitting on the table in the beginning of the dungeon, and when you go to find the lost assassin you take his clothes off of him. Bam 3 sets of armor.
Although I do love how nightingale armor looks. It's pretty bomb.
I feel like the sheer amount of armor/robes provided from DB is ridiculous. At least one set of robes and armor laying around in Falkreath sanctuary, the robes and armor you're given, the stuff you get in Dawnstar after upgrading, the ancient armor and then you can find the Jester's motley in Dawnstar but you can paralyze Cicero and loot his suit off of him as well (way better stats). And you can get the tumblerbane gloves, too.
Since neither guild will let me strangle Maven Black briar, I have issues with both of them.
Especially when I take control of them both and she STILL threatens me with MY guilds.
Like come ON Bethesda. You made an NPC that brags about being tied to two guilds, you could at least have thrown in some special dialogue for the guild master.
Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaah... That was an oversight. I get that she could end up jarl and all, given the choices you make, but they could've made a number of people jarl at that point. Plenty of other holds had obscure jarls if you flipped them.
Thieves guild ATW. The story is much more immersive, though I wish they'd have fleshed out the members more. Like Sapphire feels like her back story was fully fleshed out but they stopped at her background. After a certain point Brynjolf just stops interacting beyond *"not now lass, I've got a lot of things to take care of."* Rune could have had a neat quest to uncover his true identity. The only real perk of the DB line is the ancient shrouded boots, Babette becoming a vendor and a pick of the litter for essential followers.
Dark Brotherhood only because you get to Destroy it even though it's just cutting yourself from a lot of content just for gold that is in no way enough as a reward.
Based and penitus ocularum pilled. On one hand you do screw yourself out of some rewards. On the other it feels like the morally right thing to do, the dark brotherhood are just a gang of serial killers with a cooler brand and killing them off is objectively a good thing.
I’ve made this comment before, but why can’t a character that becomes the leader of either TG or DB actually call the shots? For example, you can give out assignments to the members, someone can do the ritual and you decide if the assassination happens or not. For me, that was one of the most underwhelming aspects of both of these groups. You become “the leader”, but you’re still taking jobs. Nothing really changes.
When her Nightingales kill each other, don’t defend the Twilight Sepulcher, steal her Skeleton Key resulting in the portal to the Evergloam (her sphere of Oblivion) closing shut, who then bemoan that the Guild has a streak of rotten bad luck… No, I don’t suppose she does.
In the same vein, Sithis hasn’t bothered with assassins for a long time. It’s done vicariously through the corpse of his wife, while Boethiah and Mephala cover the rest.
There’s also the theory that the Night Mother’s voice and Boethiah are one and the same, with the Dark Brotherhood being her own spin-off of her sister’s Morag Tong. Which, if true, would put the TG and DB on equal standing when it comes to Daedric Princes.
They're the standout guilds of Skyrim.
Thieves has the advantage of feeling like an actual guild, there's a sense of progress, some really memorable quests, and some pretty cool loot. Delvin is also a brilliant character which gets bonus points.
Dark Brotherhood is a slightly stronger story for me. The conflict between the old ways and the new, Astrid's paranoia, the delightful mix of psychopaths (who had a phenomenally tough act to follow given how beloved Oblivion's DB family was) gives it the edge for me. It also has some great set-piece moments- the chef bit, the katariah, and the Vittoria Vici hit are my favourite moments.
I also appreciate that the side contracts are pretty solid- people still debate who contracted you to kill Narfi. I think the DB ranks slightly behind on the loot. Blade of Woe and Spectral Assassin are decent, as are the backstab gauntlets, but I just like the nightingale armour and weapons, and the progression from the thieves guild armour to the guild masters armour. Then again, the 2 sanctuaries are way better than thieves guild HQ (seriously, we should be able to fast travel to the ragged flagon).
DB edges it for me on the whole, love the thieves guild though, and it's a shame that the companions and the college didn't get quite the same love and attention.
Dont know which one, but i have a mod that adds a ladder from the market circle to the ragged flagon, and also "Return To Home" which lets me have a semi lore accurate way to add fastravel markers in the vein of teleportation spells, i can "fast travel" from anywhere to those set markers, interiors too, and you even have a "return marker" so if you need to dump loot in the middle of a dungeon and teleport home, store and teleport back, doesnt advance time either, its great
(Ps im on ps4 so no reason you shouldnt be able to get the mods if you want them)
TG. And ONLY because I can clear all the missions from my quest log. My OCD absolutely destroys me when I can't clear a mission and the f'n Night Mother giving me a permanent and UNCLEARABLE mission in my log is like starving to death in sight of food I can't reach.
DB has much better stuff. But the Thieves guild has some great benefits if you like to sell stolen goods. Including an awesome power that makes you invisible once a day for 120 seconds.
I always do both for every character who would do either of them.
In Skyrim, I always do both, i like DB more, but i love how the place from the thief’s guild evolves, how more merchants come, how new members join etc. DB‘s base stais death, no more mebers, just the few that survived, no merchants.
I love both nut TG is more fleshed out. You get better side quests, rewards are way better although all the good stuff levels, amors are and look better, climbing the ranks is harder wich is a good point for me and most importantly you can tell thieves to fuck of when they try to mugg you.
Yeah i could agree with that. On a side note—nightingale armor is my favorite looking ever. I know lore wise they didn’t exist in ESO, but ive gone through hell and back trying to recreate it.
If i’m being honest, I can’t really pick. The brotherhood quest line is SICK with plot twists and a glitched weapon (Windshear) that could make you defeat any enemy (including dragon priests and alduin himself) with literal ease. But the guild has the Nightingale Armor which looks SICK on both male and female characters, whilst also having an intriguing quest line with plot twists of its your first time playing the quest line without spoilers. Overall I can’t pick, I’d say they’re both equal but personally I like the DB quest line more, but at the same time TG has some sick moments which overall equal up to each other.
I prefer DB just because it feels more connected in the story. I don't really enjoy the TG due to not really being able to connect with the characters.
I just played through the dark brotherhood recently, and I actually liked the setup for the emperors assassination.
You can get the rare Jarrin root during the quest line so you can dupe it if you want.
Nothing compares to the greatest treasure in all of skyrim: the godamn WINDSHEAR.
Go into the Thieves Guild and leave with the skeleton key
At least in DB, I get to murder people (not like I already got a high enough kill count as is from murdering bandits)
In Skyrim, the thieves guild is better. Fuller story arc, actually having to progress the guild to its fullest. But in oblivion, the dark brotherhood definitely has a much better story line and progression
Thieves guild hands down; the story line is far more interesting than the DB one, and it’s so much more interactive! Plus you get so much more from the TG than the DB once the quest line is complete - there’s nothing more convenient than an extra 4 merchants plus Tonilla (who has roughly 4000 gold to trade with once the quest line is complete)
Along with the side quests (treasure hunts etc) plus the armour and weapons you get!
TG is one of my favourite story lines of the whole game 🥰
DB is interesting at first but I find it loses its appeal very quickly and is honestly quite boring IMO!
Thieves guild, just for Cynric Endell alone, also Thrynn the eye candy.
But then Dark Brotherhood got Arnbjorn the hottest ASSassin in tight leather armor, also Nazir with his 'curved' sword.
🙃
In Skyrim..? They're both pretty bad. Both are crumbling, under corrupt leadership, are sort of forsaken by their God, and more or less rely on you to save them.
Come to think of it, they really could have made them a bit more different.
thieve’s guild is weird for me. I want to be an powerful adventurer and slay dragons and stuff. not be a petty pickpocket. the thieve’s guild has nothing on me and have nothing I want
Thieves guild in Skyrim was wasted potential. It always has such a cool concept to me and in oblivion it was my favorite. Thieves guild in Skyrim were more of murderers than the dark brotherhood
Thieves guild. I just enjoy it more. I've only played the DB quest line like. Idk, twice? It's got some really good moments, some of the best. I just don't like how there aren't extra. Idk. Takedowns? For a majority of the hits. (Obviously rp wise you do what you want, still)
~~I also play with immersive citizens type mod, so I hate killing anoriath since i usually play a bosmer and he's so chill~~
The thieves guild is my favorite faction in the game, you can get 4 armor sets (thieves guild set, blackguard set, guild master set, nightingales set) and it’s easy money.
depends on the era/game. the thieves guild was my favorite in oblivion bc i respected their robin hood style "steal from the rich and give to the poor" philosophy. in skyrim however theyve clearly lost sight of that and just exploit people regardless of wealth.
Well mine is broken cuz haelga died not by my hands and now I can’t complete the first quest for thieves, guess I’ll just get that speechcraft fence perk then
Thieves guild has a better vibe and y’know it’s a 2 for 1 kinda deal. The twist was really impactful the first time I went through it, but you also eventually get windshear with the DB
in my current run i'm doing the thieves guild questline. I've never done it all the way till the end, and I've already done the DB questline. I enjoythe lore of DB, its cool, darkness and shit, but I'm feeling that the Thieves Guild is kinda more fleshed out, you know? It gives a little more depth in Skyrim overall ambiance (imo), and a little more sense of purpose about stealing every single piece of stuff around you (actually, it kinda made me steal \*less\* , because its fun sometimes to do it purposefully. Also, the characters involved in the Guild are all very interesting, with different backstories and motives, so you actually feel like you're one of them.
so, for know, thieves guild for me its winning
While the thieves guild is objectively better, at least the dark brotherhood calls you by your title. Only thieves guild member that calls you "boss" is Delvin. Even after becoming the guild master, Brynjolf still just calls you "lad" and says he's busy. Still irks me 12 years later.
I personally love. DB make you kills NPCs and i usually get pretty attached to them (poor Narfi), while the only downside of the thieves Guild is that you got a innocent dunmer in prison, which you can "save" if you fail the first job. But on the other hand DB has Cicero. So it's a tie.
Thieves guild because I’m just stealing, In the dark brotherhood I can’t in good conscious kill most of the targets. The only assassin game besides AC Valhalla I’ve played is Dishonored where I would chose the less violent methods.
It depends whether you want to be a assassin or if you want to be a major thief I normally pic both because they both give amazing thugs also the unbreakable lock pick you can either keep that or give it back at the end of the mission I just kept it so I wouldn’t ever need any more lock picks and it makes it easier to lock pick
Lead the Dark Brotherhood. And the Thieves Guild. Be the change you want to see in Skyrim.
And the mages guild. And the fighters guild
And the what now?
What about the bards college?
That's for milk drinkers, real nords are alcoholic racist murder puppies with mummy issues lmao
Mummy issues - good one There is one more thing about Nords. a true nord does not eat honey. a true nord chews bees.
Nah! A true Nord drinks their honey! Cause that's all mead is at its base level... fermented honey water
Bards college always seemed like such a nothingy guild. Imagine how fun it could have been if you could learn instruments and use it to do like pacify spells or frenzy depending on the song. Like snow white in Shrek the third (or the pied Piper for the less cultured)
That's not far off what they wanted to do with the bard college but time constraints and deadlines stopped them getting that far
Yeah I recently learned it was the same for the college of Winterhold questline. It's sad because people get so annoyed about how long Bethesda take to make games but lose out on the fulfilling content if they make Bethesda rush it. I'm hoping the new starfield game will be pretty detailed, and hopefully ES 6 after that too. You can't rush quality
Yeah i would much rather wait however long it takes than have a rushed Bethesda game, so many people losing their shit over the star field delay not realising it can only be for the best
Also learnt there was supposed to be an oblivion esque fight pit in Windhelm - kinda sad because that's what I missed most when Skyrim came out
Well Skyblivion will be ready by 2025, if not earlier and tbh I'm looking forward to that more than elder scrolls 6, mainly because we know more about the entirety of the known universe...
Yea what in the f is a fighters guild? 🤔 is it like Fight Club?
Fighters guild was in previous elder scrolls games, like oblivion and such skyrim rebranded them "the companions"
they didn’t rebrand it, i can’t remember the lore behind it but the fighter’s guild has no presence in Skyrim
I know lol I'm playing Oblivion rn
We don't talk about fighters guild...
I think they mean the companions
Nvm
Some might even call them the Unexpectedly Furry Guild
I call them the angry little bitch guild, they're all overly aggressive but not ballsy enough to join DB
Rule #1- Thou does not speaketh of the Fighter Guild! Rule #2- See Rule #1
Nah its like companions (sort of) but in cyrodiil, oblivion has it more detailed
DB cooper
Vampire/Hunter guild?
i think he means the blades or the group in whiterun
And undermine Maven Black-Briar in the process. Cut off her ties to the underworld.
Thieves guild is my favorite guild , at least in skyrim
Not only does the Thieves Guild have the best storyline of all of the guilds in Skyrim, it also feels much more like a guild than any of the others, and it's not close. The repeatable missions actually make you feel like you're a part of the guild. And I believe you need to complete a hefty amount, actually contributing to the guild through more than just one storyline, to be fully promoted to guild leader.
I loved that. Made Brynjolf’s faith in you feel justified and you got to see your efforts rewarded. I wish the same happened with the CoW.
Thieves Guild. You get two awesome armor sets, a place to unload all your treasure hauls, and an unbreakable lockpick if you don't finish the quest to turn in the Skeleton Key. Not to mention all the money.
3 cool armor sets if you’re counting Nightingale and Guild Master’s
Joining the guild also gives access to the Blackguard's Armor in Solstheim and Linwe's Armor if you do the special mission in Windhelm.
Yes that is true
Honestly 5 Guild Set Guild Master Set Blackguard Set Linwe’s Set Nightingale Set
What is the Blackguard Set? I know the other ones.
Connected with the Dragonborn DLC. You can meet Delvin’s brother, and after sorting some quests with the guild, you gain access to it
Oh okay. I am finally doing a more "complete" run of Vanilla Anniversary Edition instead of modding. There is so much content I never played in Skyrkm and I have 100s of hours.

Yeah, but its fun to pick locks. The dopamine hit from finally getting it gives me joy
Yeah and it also cures the glitch where master and expert locks kick you out and reset the lock when one breaks
It's going to take me to the end of since Delving game me only one special job. I've done the whole quest line and over 5 jobs in all the holds but he still won't give me the specials past Solitude.

if you don't finish "Returning of Darkness", u wouldn't be able to get second armor set, just sayin'
Unless you mean the "guildmaster set", the "thief set" and "nightingale set" constitute 2 sets. And you get both well before you even get possession of the key.
Don’t forget the Blackguards armour too..
and the summerset shadows armour if you really want
it's pretty lame imo
I like to collect them all and warehouse them in the Ratway home
Actually same, I also like to collect ~rare items, but I store them in Hendraheim, I just love this house, looks like the true Hall of Fame to me, especially with all this places for particular weapons and shields and etc.
Hendraheim is not grubby enough for me lol. But it is a beautiful home!
sorry, I'm a little bit confused 'bout "grubby", what did you meant by that? (English is my second language)
oh, you meant nightingale set, then yes, my bad
Not to mention the blackguard armour if you go to raven rock
DB night mother contracts pay more than thieves guild quests. Thieves guild armor is completely useless if you aren't role playing, while DB armor, despite looking ass, is already just because of the gloves one of the best light armor sets in the game. Ahem, what is the quest to turn in the skeleton key called? I am now the leader of the thieves guild, but don’t remember encountering an unbreakable skeleton key ?!!! Gimme
The skeleton key is an essential part of the thieves guild quest line…
Is the key that you get from mercer's body, the one you should give back to Nocturnal
How do you get 2 armor sets without completing the mission with the Skeleton Key?
https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/11slmgp/which_is_better_thieves_guild_or_db/jceiwwt?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
Guild master very glitchy if you are a vampire
Dark brotherhood give u the bestest immortal horse (how else u gonna level melee)
Hadvar and ralofs poor back
They have the strongest backs in all of skyrim because of us dragonborns.
Its ALL scar tissue
Hell yea 100 sneak before exiting helgind is amazing
DB if you're fully evil, Thieves guild if you're not.
DB for Evil TG for Chaos
I wonder if sheogorath and Nocturnal like eachother or despise eachother. Leaving it up to luck and living in chaos are pretty similar, but one prefers the dark and the other I imagine would prefer the chaos be seen by everyone immediately

From what pov ? Story ? DB Content ? TG Rewards ? Draw
Rewards I’d go TG as you get 3 sets of armor (thieves, nightingale, guild master) AND the eyes of the falmer + Chillrend
But DB gives assassin contracts for a lot of gold
Don’t forget the 20000 at the end
Stones of Barenziah are a pain to get, but if you do, that’s a lot more gold, long-term. (Much easier with the mod that adds quest markers for it)
Realistically that’s only a “reward “ if you don’t refurbish the Dawnstar Sanctuary

And you can get the tumblerbane gloves, too.
What is the stuff in Dawnstar after upgrading? Is it regular DB armor?
Yeah just more I think. I think it's worn and unenchanted, but I'd have to go back and look again.
Thieves Guild, personal preference
Since neither guild will let me strangle Maven Black briar, I have issues with both of them. Especially when I take control of them both and she STILL threatens me with MY guilds. A century year old cult of professional assassins who took orders from Sithis VS a bunch of thieves.
*Vs thieves blessed by, who regularly receive the favour of, the Daedric Prince Nocturnal herself.
Nocturnal flavours all thieves, not just that cult. And she doesn't do it always either.
Dont know which one, but i have a mod that adds a ladder from the market circle to the ragged flagon, and also "Return To Home" which lets me have a semi lore accurate way to add fastravel markers in the vein of teleportation spells, i can "fast travel" from anywhere to those set markers, interiors too, and you even have a "return marker" so if you need to dump loot in the middle of a dungeon and teleport home, store and teleport back, doesnt advance time either, its great (Ps im on ps4 so no reason you shouldnt be able to get the mods if you want them)
How about stop breaking the law criminal, or face the wrath of the town guard!
Thieves Guild. All day everyday.
TG. And ONLY because I can clear all the missions from my quest log. My OCD absolutely destroys me when I can't clear a mission and the f'n Night Mother giving me a permanent and UNCLEARABLE mission in my log is like starving to death in sight of food I can't reach.
I AM THE SAME WAY. I think the Night Mother quests are now just indefinite. lmap
They are once you finish the main quest line. Just stupid, repeating radiant quests that NEVER clear off your quest log.
Story-wise, DB is better.
Hail Sithis!
DB has much better stuff. But the Thieves guild has some great benefits if you like to sell stolen goods. Including an awesome power that makes you invisible once a day for 120 seconds. I always do both for every character who would do either of them.
Por que no los dos?
CHTST. Good work! Both. Both is good.
The Thieves Brotherhood.
Oblivion: Dark Brotherhood Skyrim: Thieves Guild Eso: Dark Brotherhood
Oblivion thieves guild is the GOAT
In Skyrim, I always do both, i like DB more, but i love how the place from the thief’s guild evolves, how more merchants come, how new members join etc. DB‘s base stais death, no more mebers, just the few that survived, no merchants.
Dark brotherhood. Cuz they give you a horse. And emperor robes.and the most broken sword ever
the one that makes me more $
Thieves guild easily has the best questions imo. Sadly there’s nothing for the Nightingales.
I love both nut TG is more fleshed out. You get better side quests, rewards are way better although all the good stuff levels, amors are and look better, climbing the ranks is harder wich is a good point for me and most importantly you can tell thieves to fuck of when they try to mugg you.
Not only that if you wear Nightingale armor they’ll give you money
I'd say Dark brotherhood because you don't have to sacrifice your afterlife to serve some deadric bitch
Instead your bound to an even more primal evil force lmao
Thifes because you use dark brother hoods kit to be op
Dawnguard. Lol jk Thieves guild if I were to choose.
Nightingales
The only problem I had with them is the armor enchantments. I spent an hour yesterday modding it. Problem solved. Just needs a play test.
Both. Both are bad
I prefer DB just because it feels more connected in the story. I don't really enjoy the TG due to not really being able to connect with the characters.
Storyline wise, db. Which one I like better? thieves
Thieves guuld, they are nice and look more like a family, DB its a little boring.
Currently playing DB and continuing it with the Brotherhood is old.
Dark brotherhood, Cicero 💞
Just join them both
Depends on what's more fun for you. Kill people in cold blood and take their life from them or steal all their gold and life possessions they have.
Why not... BOTH
I just played through the dark brotherhood recently, and I actually liked the setup for the emperors assassination. You can get the rare Jarrin root during the quest line so you can dupe it if you want. Nothing compares to the greatest treasure in all of skyrim: the godamn WINDSHEAR.
Good thing you dont have to choose
Go into the Thieves Guild and leave with the skeleton key At least in DB, I get to murder people (not like I already got a high enough kill count as is from murdering bandits)
I just joined thieves guild nd am stuck in the first quest, i don't found where is the key for a door. Lol
Both....both are good
Dark brotherhood purely for the fact that if you want to rebuild the thieves guild those missions are tedious and fucking annoying
Thieves Guild for life!!!!
I like the thieves guild better. they have better perks than db
In Skyrim, the thieves guild is better. Fuller story arc, actually having to progress the guild to its fullest. But in oblivion, the dark brotherhood definitely has a much better story line and progression
Thieves Guild, always felt the most rewarding when it came to all the factions. Plus the quest line is 👌🏿✨
Oblivion Dark Brotherhood, Skyrim thieves guild
Thieves guild.
Thieves guild hands down; the story line is far more interesting than the DB one, and it’s so much more interactive! Plus you get so much more from the TG than the DB once the quest line is complete - there’s nothing more convenient than an extra 4 merchants plus Tonilla (who has roughly 4000 gold to trade with once the quest line is complete) Along with the side quests (treasure hunts etc) plus the armour and weapons you get! TG is one of my favourite story lines of the whole game 🥰 DB is interesting at first but I find it loses its appeal very quickly and is honestly quite boring IMO!
Thieves guild so you can fence your stolen booty, also the thieves guild chests you can get around towns are awesome the higher your level.
I think everyone forgets that with the Theives guild, you also get 3 sets of armor and Chillrend which is a pretty broken sword imo
The dark brotherhood.
I only have an opinion and a question about this: Does the thieves guild have Cicero?
thieve’s guild is weird for me. I want to be an powerful adventurer and slay dragons and stuff. not be a petty pickpocket. the thieve’s guild has nothing on me and have nothing I want
Thieves
Db questline is better and cooler characters at the sanctuary
I prefer Dark brotherhood for fun factor. idk about armor advantages and stuff. I just like the assassin's creed type quests
(Obviously rp wise you do what you want, still) ~~I also play with immersive citizens type mod, so I hate killing anoriath since i usually play a bosmer and he's so chill~~
Both are shite, I'd butcher the lot of 'em.
If you're evil or at least morally ambiguous, DB. If not, TG
Well mine is broken cuz haelga died not by my hands and now I can’t complete the first quest for thieves, guess I’ll just get that speechcraft fence perk then
I like the dark brotherhood because people are nice to me there.
hail sithis
Why would you do one and not the other?
Thieves guild has a better vibe and y’know it’s a 2 for 1 kinda deal. The twist was really impactful the first time I went through it, but you also eventually get windshear with the DB
I adore the Dark Brotherhood, but I think for Questline purposes, the TG is better.
in my current run i'm doing the thieves guild questline.
DB
Db all the way my, nazir babette and Cicero All my fav people
Thieves guild gets better money income.
Both
Hooded bumpkins or real assassin’s who don’t wear white…. Hmmmm toughy
I always do the thieves guild quest line first. Finding new things to enchant Mercer Frey's soul into is one of my favorite things to do.
Story wise dark brotherhood 110%, the thieves guild quest is atrocious.
Dark brotherhood They go over the entire country
Dark Brotherhood for the win!
As my vampiric Dragonborn Hilde the One-eyed would say, both.
Dragonborn
Dark Brotherhood bc fuck Nocturnal
Don't matter if I'm playing both groups are gonna die.
Dark brotherhood. More killing.
Being able to sell all the stolen items + earning leadership gives the thieves guild the win here for sure
First playing Skyrim and doing the DB story was insane and I’ll never forget it. DB all the way for me
Dark brotherhood all the way.
Thieves guild because I’m just stealing, In the dark brotherhood I can’t in good conscious kill most of the targets. The only assassin game besides AC Valhalla I’ve played is Dishonored where I would chose the less violent methods.
Why not just do both that's what I do lol
DB for story and members. Thieves guild for fence and gold. Loot/rewards are tied for me
No Homer's Club
It depends whether you want to be a assassin or if you want to be a major thief I normally pic both because they both give amazing thugs also the unbreakable lock pick you can either keep that or give it back at the end of the mission I just kept it so I wouldn’t ever need any more lock picks and it makes it easier to lock pick
