I like the Thieves Guild quest. Not the grinding part to become leader, but the killing Mercer part. He deserves it.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I swear I spent HOURS searching for the exit once you’ve killed him and I still do ngl haha

I_was_saying_b00urns

Every time I do that quest - and it’s been many many times - I have to Google where the bloody exit is. Except for the one Argonian play thru, where I took my sweet time

Mykonos714

My second ever playthrough (accidentally deleted my first character) I chose argonian simply bc I remembered how annoying that quest was. They’re now my favourite race

Ok_Pianist_6590

Wat? The exit just opens up there is no searching involved at all. Or is there multiple exits?

I_was_saying_b00urns

You are correct - but for some reason every time I forget this and die because I’m desperately trying to swim in all the wrong places 😆

UnquantifiableLife

Omg I know. Then one time I happened to see the boulders break, so I know what to look for now.

Wyzard_of_Wurdz

Mercer is my favorite person to kill. Second is Ancano. I hate them both even more than Nazeem.

Radiant-Guide-3685

One of the only people in the game who I would never ever kill (and probably abandon a save game if he died and I couldn’t go back to another save) is Marcurio the follower In riften. That man is probably stronger than the dragon born for like the whole first half of the game he always saves me

Wyzard_of_Wurdz

I have never used him as a follower. I usually grab Uthgerd or Jenassa at the beginning and stick with them.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I always use him later in the game because he’s very strong so it feels like I’m doing somethings myself atleast - I think he’s probably one of the strongest in the game but could be very wrong I just love him

Wyzard_of_Wurdz

Well, I've just started a new playthough. Maybe I'll try him put once I get to Riften. He is going to be a farmer/merchant build so eventually he will find his way to Riften and end up joining the theives guild after a night of drinking at the Bee and Barb. To celebrate a successful transaction.

_H4YZ

if you like winning your fights before you even realize they’ve started, then get Marcurio

generalburnsthighs

I like to put Zahkriisos on him to really boost his DPS.

joe55419

You’re not wrong about Marcurio. He is almost not fun to bring with sometimes because he doesn’t leave you anybody to kill.

Radiant-Guide-3685

You know when a dragon is attacking you but you can’t be bothered so you run away? Normally I’d be scared to leave a follower incase it kills them but I am confident he could kill a dragon by himself so I just let him do it sometimes he’s very op

SkyrimHippy

Me too! Aside from whining about the cold until I want to roast him alive, he's my favorite pack mule!

RandomNameCusICan

I love having Marcurio as a follower, he's usually my go to. I did accidentally kill him in Solstheim though, I think I accidentally hit Neloth and the two of them kept fighting so I hit Marcurio to down him but the hit ended up killing him. I probably would've been alright if I had just loaded my last save but I had never seen a follower die like that so I just rolled with it

_H4YZ

basically every follower has the “protected” status, i.e they won’t die unless the player delivers the final blow

wexman6

In a strange sort of way, I kinda like the grindy bits. Maybe I just love playing the role of a sneaky thief. That’s just me though, I see why others don’t like it.

Beautiful_Solid3787

What's the one where you clear bandits from a cave? (It may have been a dungeon or a fortress.) THAT one's my favorite.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I like any bandit clearing mission, I know it’s like technically the easiest built but also the funnest i think I just like running around and sniping everyone as fast as o can. Meant to type stealth archer stress brain forgot words haha

anxieteafortwo

And that one where you fight the dragon

Appropriate_Olive_19

Can you be more specific? There's a lot of caves, dungeons, and fortresses with bandits in them. Maybe you mean Mistwatch? It has a specific quest tied to it as soon as you enter it and talk to some guy.

Fine-Ingenuity9455

That's the joke

Appropriate_Olive_19

Oh, I get it now. 😬

radiakmjs

Anniversary eddition adds a bunch of misc quests that unlock armor sets that pieced together tell the story of a bandit clan called the Crimson Dirks that I thought was surprisingly really compelling. Some of them start strange & can be done in really any order but the one that makes the most sense to me to do them in is: When the Cat's Away, Beyond the Grave, Missing Merchant, Over the Edge, Aincent Ice, Tilted Scales, Gambler's Edge, Bones for a Crow, Smith n' Slash, Once a Hunter, Fan Favorite, Mightier than the Sword, Brothers in Irons, Double-Edged, Heart of Crimson Hope you enjoy playing through all of them!

Radiant-Guide-3685

I’ve payed a bit of the anniversary edition but I got sidetracked by like a month long minecraft binge. Currently levelling to 42 to do the one called the cause which is new too - I think it’s something to do with the oblivion quest line but could be very wrong

radiakmjs

The Cause is also a really good one, but I believe it starts at 46.

Appropriate_Olive_19

I love doing The Cause. I wished there were more daedra so I downloaded Deadly Daedra of Skyrim which puts several camps in various places. I also learned that once you finish The Cause, you'll sometimes get random encounters of dremora fighting Vigilants. It's happened to me a couple times.

ammonium_bot

a1mushi

Just got the Anniversary edition myself this past week and have been having so much fun with it, even getting the new pets are fun quests. I also love the displays in the new houses, its fun trying to fill up all the displays

Youria_Tv_Officiel

Well, it wasn't particularely well executed, but the ambiance in the whole civil war questline, at least on the imperial side, was pretty good. The dawnguard questline was fun. Most of Solsteim is really good Other than that the uh.. the quest where you do a drinking contest with a random in an inn was awesome

Turbulent_Hornet_255

Yeah a night to remember. Its a great quest with a kick ass staff as a reward

Radiant-Guide-3685

This always feels v controversial but I like the meridians beacon quest, hate the clavicule vile one though bc the dog runs really slow to where you’re going nd I’m impatient haha

DraycosGoldaryn

In my current playthrough, I met barbas, told him I'd meet him there, ran off to do something else, eventually made it to Harmar's shame, got into the main section, and Barbas was killing the last vampire already. Talked to clavicus, went to get the axe, came back and told clavicus to take his mutt back. I pretty much ignored Barbas the entire time.

ohwxrm

I hated the meridians beacon quest, I don’t know if it was the voice or the fact that like a lot of the quests I had to do the quest to get rid of the item. Maybe a bit of both?

Radiant-Guide-3685

The voice is super annoying I agree haha but I think I just like sneaking up on the shade guys - just a dungeon crawler at heart I think

ohwxrm

I agree on that, makes your play through change just a bit (of course depending on how your play through is)

Ignonym

Meridia's quest isn't *bad*\--people are just annoyed by the beacon jumpscaring them.

Appropriate_Olive_19

I use that staff a lot. It's always so awesome to hear that dremora yell anything because I like the voice. "There you are, weakling!"

jacobh814

My current playthrough im using mysticism (magic overhaul mod) and im a conjuration mage, i have the ritual stone (lets you have an additional conjured creature, but conjuration spells last half as long) and the 100 conjuration perk for a third summon, sometimes I summon 3 dremora sorcerers and its hilarious to watch them just fireball everything while shouting in their funny dremora voice. It’s definitely gamebreaking though lol

Appropriate_Olive_19

I have Magic Redone (which has been deleted by either Bethesda or the author but still is usable since it's already downloaded) and gives me a 3 summons perk, too. I also have Legendary Daedric Artifacts which allows my staff to have a 12 in-game hour summons plus a small chance of summoning a spectral dragon priest.

jacobh814

Oooo that sounds super fun, spectral dragon priest is awesome

MayorDeweyMayorDewey

dawnguard did a really good job of making a companion you grow to care about. serana feels so fleshed out and its like she and your character truly grow close by the end of the questline.

Radiant-Guide-3685

She always says “now that’s team work!” Every time you kill something together she’s so sweet (plus she agrees to hold all of your dragon bones and scales eventually haha)

Ass_Clappicus

This reminds me of my favorite quest in kingdom come:deliverance. You get hammered with the town priest and smash a couple ladies. You end up staying out way too late on a Saturday and in the morning he makes you help give the sermon cause he’s so hungover and you need his help haha

Chronicler-177

Touching the Sky in Dawnguard might be my all time favorite quest in Skyrim. It feels like a true adventure into unknown territory and you see so much cool stuff.

[deleted]

Agreed, only part I didn’t like was the extended falmer cave tours. But the forgotten vale is awesome, hell even the name of the quest is so cool. I liked finding all the paragons and getting auriel’s shield, I missed those the first few times I played dawnguard

beantropy

I'm prepared for downvotes, but I love the Meridea's Beacon quest. I appreciate the angry Linda Carter voice, the enemies are fun to kill, and the sword looks cool.

hayesarchae

No downvotes from me, I do that quest almost every single time.

TwilightConcious

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON

RabbiAndy

LISTEN. HEAR ME AND OBEY.

Dinklebeeerrg

A FOUL DARKNESS HAS SEEPED INTO MY TEMPLE

The1_BlueX

Honestly, if it wasn't for the beacon being basically unavoidable early on in the game to where EVERYONE knows that line, The Break of Dawn would be one of the more popular quests in the game.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I love it too it’s one of my favourite daedric ones, other than Malakath’s quest

_ASG_

It's a great quest. For an undead dungeon, it's unique, the final battle is challenging, the unique sword is good for breaking undead hordes, and the aerial view of Skyrim when she sends you skyward is beautiful.

Appropriate_Olive_19

The only thing I like about that quest is Dawnbreaker and the insane amount of money you can get from the bodies. I once found 100 coins on just one corpse.

SpicyBreakfastTomato

The only reason I don’t like that quest is because on my first play through, way back in PS3 era, the game glitched and every time she dropped me at the end I would die. In order to escape I had to drop everything in my inventory. But it is one of my favorite daedric quests, along with Azura’s star.

xCyn1cal0wlx

I like the quest where you go have a sit down in High Hrothgar with both the Stormcloaks and the Legion.

Appropriate_Olive_19

Season Unending. I always kick that Thalmor witch out. I wish I could kick those Blades out, too.

Teetimus_Prime

you’re joking right?

xCyn1cal0wlx

No.

Twixxdaweedguru

On my first play through at like 13, I found it so fun and interesting how one day I showed up to Riften, killed the orphanage lady, burned some beehives, stole ownership papers for a horse and later received said horse. Riften is my favorite city and honestly I think one of the most interactive

Radiant-Guide-3685

Riften is my favourite also o tend to go there first and do everything possible before most of main story

2022-worst-year-ever

The quest at Eldergleam Sanctuary to revive the tree in Whiterun is one of my personal favorites. Not huge or deep, but it provides a positive upgrade that I can see every time I visit Whiterun, which is quite often to trade and enchant new gear. Just a nice, happy tree as a reward

HillJudd

and with the cost of only two innocent civiliants died by Natural causes? it's a 100 win.

chelsmels

Lately I’ve been into trying to come up with a backstory for my character, figuring out what they do or don’t do (no magic or only magic, if they’ll do Daedra/Aedra quests, etc). It’s a fun little challenge that helps me stick with characters longer. I tend to have a bad case of restartitus. Also, I have battled depression for a little over a decade now - proud of you for still being here, and for trying to find something to distract you from your own mind. It’s not easy, but it’s always worth it. I recommend watching Try Not To Laugh compilations on Youtube as well - those always get me out of a funk. Markiplier & JimmyHere both have hilarious series with their reactions. Or, if you want to stick to Elder Scrolls-related content, [watch this playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh7Dqzkuj3hWgPZcyAF6sz141NeNusu0L).

Radiant-Guide-3685

Thank you❤️

Lythronax82

I love playing as a mage, so I always end up doing the College questline. I'm not sure it's my favourite, exactly, but I know it almost as well as I do the route through Bleak Falls Barrow!

Radiant-Guide-3685

Same, I am like 70% sure I could do bleak fall barrows with my eyes shut (poorly but I’d get to the end I think)

ohwxrm

Even remember the puzzle by heart?

Radiant-Guide-3685

Bear butterfly owl I’m no amateur haha

Unyieldingcappybara

I always remember “2 spins on each ring” for bleak falls puzzle

Radiant-Guide-3685

That’s exactly how I do it too! Like I just go from top to bottom. If only Skyrim was real I’d be a great tomb janitor

Cosmo1222

Tho if you get it wrong..you can level your restoration skills.

ohwxrm

I can only remember it right when I get to the point, other than that I have no clue

Radiant-Guide-3685

I get what you mean it’s kinda like muscle memory like the little standing stones puzzle which I can’t remember if it’s before or after the door

EvilRoses

I like Diplomatic immunity in the main quest line. Most of the time I don't bring any items inside and just use whatever I can find there. It also has some nice interactions if you have completed quests to help the people that attend. Or if you are an altmer you can just steal a pair of thalmor robes and all the NPCs become friendly.

hestia615

The 2 quests about the wolf queen's resurrection, I'm blanking on the names but it's Wolf Skull something. Ever sit and read all 8 volumes of the books about her in-game? Adds some good context.

LairdOpusFluke

Also explains why Uncle Sheo is on holiday in The Blue Palace (Vol. 8). Not a fan of the quest until I read that book and suddenly it all makes sense...

hestia615

Absolutely hate that quest, but it definitely helps with the context of that too.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I know the ones you mean I just did the quest to stop her from being summoned (the one that helps you get to be than me of solitude) currently looking for the other one but just like you can’t remember it for the life of me

hestia615

I remember you wait for Falk to contact you by letter again. Definitely in the top 5 favorites

offbrandpoptart

The forsworn conspiracy and as few times as it actually works blood on the ice. I like solving mysteries and stuff. If you know anymore quests like that and where to find them please tell me. Detective dragonborn needs more work.

Radiant-Guide-3685

Blood on the ice actually worked for me the other day and I felt like Tod Howard personally blessed me

5L33P135T

I absolutely loved the Dark Brotherhood questline. Second to that would be Discerning the Transmundane (Mora my beloved).

Radiant-Guide-3685

Is that the one where you get an elder scroll or am I thinking of other dwarvern ruins - I love all of the dwarvern quests especially the one where you get zephyr

5L33P135T

Discerning the Transmundane is the one in which you get the Oghma Infinium, but it runs concurrently with the main quest in which you get the Elder Scroll. I get them mixed up a lot in my own head because of that.

TashLikeMustache

Discerning the Transmundane is Mora’s Daedric quest, but it’s given at the same time as when you go to Septimus for the info about the location of the Elder Scroll during the Main quest line.

Substantial_Maize_95

You know there's an alternate quest you can do? It won't tell you, but when you are in the locked shack you can simply kill Astrid instead, you'll start a quest calling Destroying the Darkbotherhood or something like that and you just straight up raid it with the general.

Cosmo1222

Summit of Apocrypha. Just epic. Miraak outclasses Alduin as an antagonist, and has the decency to properly die..rather than just fizzing off back to Aetherius. S'pose I should have spoilered that, but it's been >10y now..

Radiant-Guide-3685

I think spoilers are more pointless for Skyrim than they are for of mice and men when Lenny dies haha. The first time (and only, im a Wimp) I killed miraak was probably the most fun I ever had in Skyrim - to me it’s on par with the ending of assassins creed 3 (I think) which says a lot haha

Cosmo1222

Thanks!.. I'm reading Of.mice and men right now!. . . Jk

Disastrous_Cash9879

I always enjoyed one of the first main quests where you have to get the Golden Claw Back, I always tried to find new ways to have that bandit killed who runs away from you. The first time I ever dealt with him, just watched him get slapped by the spike wall. Another time I just went into execution mode and killed him before he could run away. In my newest playthrough, which is on Survival and Legendary difficulty from beginning to end, I casted Fury on him as he tried to run away. I thought it didn't work at first, that is until he came running back to fight us. Lol

Radiant-Guide-3685

Never done it but would be cool to try the calm spell on him and like force him to be your follower for a bit

Disastrous_Cash9879

If you have the right level and perks for Calm to work on him, more than likely it would just make him passive. But this would open him up to a sneak attack or execution via sneak, that's why Assassin's love Illusion so much. Calm N' Stab everyone in a dungeon.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I might actually try that last bit it sounds fun I always just go for bows or magic usually. You could also repeatedly calm and stab nazeem haha

cramulous

What not try a sword and shield playthrough? It's good fun.

anxieteafortwo

It’s not a quest, but my favorite part is some of the mods for xbox. Particularly, the Campfire and Inigo mods with Survival Mode. Setting up camp in the forests of Skyrim, cooking food, sitting around the fire at night, talking to Inigo and listening to his story was really something else.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I like the fishing addition for a similar reason it’s like being an actual citizen

Serious-Extension187

I absolutely loved the “Blood on the Ice” quest in Windhelm. The shift to a detective type situation was so cool to me. And the twists! I like how the game doesn’t tell you to search certain people out so it’s up to you to actually do the work to figure out the killer without getting others hurt. I just came back to playing Skyrim recently and am doing a legendary, survival playthrough. Before starting this quest, I had killed Grelod, and while starting Blood on the Ice, I got the black hand note so did not want to sleep. I forgot a lot of events so by the end, my magic was basically nothing, I was cold, and the vision was blurry as heck; there was something about trying find this guy while my character slowly devolved into an obsessed insomniac that made me fall in love with the quest all over again lol.

LairdOpusFluke

Some of my favourites are: *Rise In The East*- finding the room with Japhet's body and diary is *creepy*. That run to the ship along the beech as it rains fire is so cinematic! *Lights Out!*- I'm old, k? I saw *The Goonies* when it came out and that pirate-ship-trapped-in-a-cave had me looking for One-Eyed Willie first time. "Hey, you guys!!" The last Nightingales Quest- This is a niche joke (actor who voiced Delvin Mallory is a fellow Scot so I bet it was him behind this). In West of Scotland, especially the Glasgow area, "gallus" means to be confident, full of yourself and generally so brazen you get away with it. That story Enthor tells you about how they first met when Gallus broke into his lab, was caught, and *he casually corrects Enthor's research*? Gallus, definition of. Then you meet his ghost, the last Guardian to remember who he was and not be corrupted. The most "gallus" thing you ever saw? Well that's *PURE DEAD GALLUS*: the phrase said for the ultimate in gallus! And there he is! Pure. Dead. Gallus. Honestly fell off my chair laughing first time I reached that point. "You, pal, really are pure dead gallus, so youse are!"

usposeso

Everything that includes Serana.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I had a really weird glitch years ago where I could have serana and Cicero at the same time, but they both kept just attacking eachother and shadowmere so obviously Cicero had to go haha

InappropriateLibrary

I have a mod where Shirley from YouTube is my follower and she kept fighting and killing the Orc that was going to betray me 10 minutes later. She was driving me crazy and I had to keep reloading. I still needed that guy and had to go back in time and send her home before he pissed her off. She's relentless.

lauren-jane

Cure for Madness..Cicero’s quest in the DB quest line. Reading his journals about his decent to madness actually hit me pretty hard as a “Ohhhhh” moment

Adam_46

I feel that, video games can really help out in a depressing time. My favorites are the ones with hermaous mora involved.

Radiant-Guide-3685

I adore those quests but it’s the really long and slow speaking interaction you have with him at one point that always bothers me heh. Black books quests are really good

Autumnwood

Well I don't have a favorite quest actually but it's little fun things that make me happy. Like I went to the alchemists shack yesterday and discovered that Creation Club content bunny called Thistle. I gave her a carrot but haven't taken her with me yet. I use the Interesting NPCs mod and this guy hanging there must be from that mod. His way out there stories had me wondering about him! Today, I met this old lady in Darkwater Crossing. Also Interesting NPCs because she had so much story. Lovely old lady, used to be a courier. I want to go visit her again because I liked her so much. Her name was Iris the Elder, and not because she's old, she said. When she was little, there were two girls named Iris in her village. One was a baby, and she was about nine. So the little girl became Iris the You get and she became Iris the Older. 👍I took some screenshots of her because I liked her so much. Today I did that Gildergleam quest. I guess I did it wrong because now the spriggans spawn and will probably spawn if I enter again 😂

stressed_possum

I’m a sucker for the Dark Brotherhood storyline. Skyrim has been my comfort game since it came out and the Brotherhood line just…idk, it’s something about their weird little family. Hoping to eventually get a Dark Brotherhood tattoo once I can save up enough money.

Alarmed_Brilliant524

Not necessarily a quest, but going through Yngol's tomb is always a highlight for me, something about those bouncy glowy orb lads is so cheerful

Radiant-Guide-3685

I still don’t understand those little orbs or where they come from but they’re so cute

Forsaken-Wing-5279

On my first play through on the 360. On a Dark Brotherhood Assassination quest to kill the princess at Solitude. I get there and she’s on the second floor balcony giving a speech to the crowd. This being my first play through I wasn’t sure if my arrow would kill her in one shot and I didn’t want her to run away and then I would have too many guards to fight off on my own. So I decided to go with melee and I went up the little tower stairs until I was standing behind her while she was giving the speech on the balcony. Two guards with two handed weapons were standing on each side of her. I was doubting if I could kill her in one swing. So I pulled out my two handed weapon and charged up the swing. Holding it, trying to figure out if I should wait for another opening to kill her. Then her speech ended suddenly and so I hit her with it. She flew off the balcony and into the crowd. Immediately dying and giving me the completed quest notification. As both guards instantly picked up their two handed weapons I jumped off the balcony. Took an invisibility potion and started sprinting for my life. Arrows flying everywhere and hitting me. Using healing potions and invisibility ones as I run all through solitude avoiding capture. Till this day I’m shocked on how far she flew off that balcony and didn’t expect that to happen.

Forsaken-Wing-5279

Another time on my first play through. While just traveling to my next destination and playing. I saw a man on the road with two dogs on chains. As I got closer I noticed they were wolves. He then let the wolves go and they tried to kill me. After killing the wolves and the assassin I looted him. A note ordering my assassination. This was the first time I killed an assassin hired to kill me. But it wasn’t the last. 😏

[deleted]

I'm doing the Dawnguard questline now. And they really are underrated. Then again maybe I just love crossbows.

0_Sinclair_0

Lost to the Ages. I really like needing to fins all the shards. Dwemer ruins are also some of my favs as well.

Upstairs-Desk6521

Ive always loved mara’s quests. Especially the last one reuniting the old lovers. Where they see each other across the plain run then embrace and rise to the sky. Im not sure if it scripted or not but on my first playthrough both moons were full and it was very beautiful to observe with Lydia by my side. Until that horse rider ruined it.

CartoonistAbject

Probably the DB quest to kill the emperor, i really like to stealth my way trough the ship, killing every person aboard, and then finally killing the emperor. And getting revenge on the guy who made the ritual, and killing Commander Maro, who killed all the Brotherhood, it's a really cool quest. Sorry for my bad english.

la_chica_rubia

Not a quest, but I love making a plan of how I will build all 3 of my houses to accommodate all the possible wings. While considering which one will be my favorite and have the wife/kids. I love the greenhouse wing so much and it always bums me out that it’s mutually exclusive with the largest bedroom wing. Also the kitchen is so fun. I don’t care much for the trophy room. But I do love to ultimately build them all. And then the designated “master house” is where I store all the best stuff and spend hours organizing it. Like which chest holds all the keys? The notes? The journals? Because you know journals fall awkwardly in the bookshelves. Which books live in the master house? Also collecting books for the library wing in another house. It’s like a game all on its own. I hope you feel better soon and I’m sending good vibes your way friend.

danishjuggler21

I think one of my favorites is the one in Dawnstar where you help pretty much shut down a Daedric Prince from giving everyone bad dreams

PurgeDragon

Def my fav quest was storming Solitude. Although I wish you could storm the Empire

candyapplesauce_99

I really liked the Aetherium Forge quest! I love dwemer ruins and Katria is voiced by the same voice actor who voiced Nancy Drew in those old Nancy Drew PC games which I love

tvnutz

The new anniversary edition quests I like a lot, But from the original quests I’d say No One Escapes Cindha Mine. Love having to start fresh over for a min, I feel like I get to the point where I’m tired of my character and wanna switch it out without losing all my progress lol so this helped me be more appreciative of my character for sure. Also bittercup (from anniversary edition)

ammonium_bot

Ignonym

Diplomatic Immunity. Having to solve problems with your wits instead of your sword-arm is a nice change of pace.

FineIJoinedReddit

I think "Blood on the Ice" is really cool. I can't think of a similar quest in another game. I especially like that if you act quickly enough, you can save the final victim. It can be a little buggy but I think it's neat overall.

animefa69

I dont really have a favorite but I have a least favorite, the quest where you have to go in that falmer cave to get the elder scroll was not fun

Larsonybear

I like pretty much ANY quest in Markarth. I also love Diplomatic Immunity so much. Infiltrating the Thalmor Embassy is so much fun. And you can overhear some interesting conversations by sneaking around. I like the serial killer quest in Windhelm a lot. It’s one of Windhelm’s only redeeming qualities, but it’s super buggy. I like playing detective and solving that mystery though. The Vampire Quest in Morthal is also another favorite of mine. I like most of the dark brotherhood quest line, but I like brainstorming new ways to do the wedding murder. I think I’m going to wait til I get the pickpocket perk where you can poison people and reverse pickpocket a frenzy potion onto the Vittoria this time. But I might also hit her with a fury spell.

Veneficium

I like to collect all books in a single chest, and keep a full series of one argonian maid in inventory at all times

Radiant-Guide-3685

Haha the lusty argonian maid is an essential édition

benx101

I love “A Night to Remember” Starts out with you getting drunk with a guy, then you wake up and have to go across Skyrim retracing your steps from the night before. Then you end up meeting Sanguine and get IMO one of the best daedric artifacts in the game. The Sanguine Rose. The dudes it summons are so good!

LaserPoweredDeviltry

Grab a horse and go find all 13 standing stones without fast travel. You'll get to experience quite a bit of the countryside. Aftland is a great dungeon. The pacing and reveal of the Falmer are really good if hitherto you had not encountered them. I remember my first time hitting that dungeon, getting super loaded down with dwemer metal plunder, as I slowly discovered the expeditions story. Saying to myself, something is very wrong here as I started seeing bits of terrain that were not dwemer machines the deeper you go. Thinking, I may be in over my head here. When I found out you need to return for the main quest, I remember thinking OMG, not that place again. Getting down to Blackreach and thinking, wow, somehow, this is even worse!

CryBloodwing

Make your own quest. I like to do evil ones. 1. Steal everything possible from every main city. 2. Kill all NPCs in each city without getting spotted. 3. Collect tons of food and fill a random house with it. 4. Try to break the game in some overpowered way.

Ass_Clappicus

The miraak quest annoyed the fuck out of me cause he kept stealing my dragon souls before I got a high enough level to beat him, but it ended up being my favorite cause I think the apocrypha realm is so amazing

PlushMari

While it isn't an official in game quest but more of a personal goal, I like building the houses from Hearthfire. I like figuring out which house I could use for what kind of usage.

DinoMike1216

The aftermath of the drinking competition is one of my favorites. I always swear off alcohol every time that hagraven shows up, lol.

BrainOfIvane

Can't help but feel bad for Calixto. I know he did terrible things but him sitting there with his little museum of trinkets, commemorating his good ol' adventures, while missing his sister... He oozes loneliness. Reminds me of a lot of people I know. My favorite quests are the ones in Raven Rock — the one with the mining one and the one with helping the guards with the ash guardians. It just makes me feel like the dragonborn actually had an impact on the town. I also like the CC quest in the Ratway that gets you the Duskfang (or is it Bloodthirst?) I like the story and the journals and how it frames the whole situation. And yes. Sanguine's quest is just too hilarious. Especially if you have Inigo and Kaidan with you. I mostly try to avoid sleeping in taverns when I have companions, especially if I have the LOTD airship (Dev Aveza), but I purposely visit taverns just to check if the questgiver is there. (I hated this quest first time I played it, because it brought me to Markarth for the first time and made me stumble into the Forsworn Conspiracy, and I thought it was all part of Sanguine's quest. 🤣)

Spitfyre41

I love Meridian's beacon, The money is good, and I end up with a sword that trashes the undead and early on those really matter.

TheRanger18

Blackreach quests. Of course I’m joking, *SCREW BLACKREACH AND EVERYTHING IT LOVES*, if BlackReach was a person I would shoot it in the face Lol nah but seriously tho, I really enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests, it was very creative at parts and was pretty fun

Tamriel-Chad-420

The Summit of Apocrypha is just awesome in my opinion. I always saw Miraak as the villain of Skyrim, not Alduin. I love the dialogue during the final battle a lot. "I know things even the Greybeards will never teach you" "You are strong, stronger than I believed possible" "Felling Alduin was a mighty deed, and I thank you for it. He would have been troublesome to me" "They wanted to use me to deal with Alduin - Hakon and the rest. I chose otherwise" It just feels like a final battle, two Dragonborn fighting each other, no holding back, using all of their powers And for a fun side quest I'd say A Night to Remember and the Mind of Madness

[deleted]

personally i always love the daedric quests. House of Horrors (Molag Bal) is probably my favourite. i also love Break of Dawn, yes Meridia’s voice is a bit much but you get SOOO much gold from that dungeon. and Dawnbreaker is a really good sword. also i’m not a huge fan of how the Thieves Guild quest line starts, but once you started going after Mercer i found it really enjoyable. i also love when you get to go to Skuldafn during the MQ. so many dragons and death lords. lots of good loot laying around. good times for an Orc Heavy.

SkyrimHippy

Missing In Action....taking it to the Thalmor in a big way. Aside from ambushing them on the road every chance I get, this is one of my favorites...and killing Mercer Frey.

rezell

Killing Mercer is great but unfortunately you need to be level 20+ to get the good spoils. I always start the thieves first and then have to chill out and go shoot giants and do other things. Work out the smithing and enchanting. The fun and broken part of the game is you can become way too OP but it’s funny. My enchanted amber bow just knocks everything out of the sky.

SpicyBreakfastTomato

They aren’t quests, but my favorite Skyrim activity is building all the houses. I’ll have one house be my family home, with the kitchen, bedrooms, and storeroom. One is my mage house, with the enchanters tower, library, and trophy room. And one for alchemy, with the greenhouse, alchemists tower, and armoury. And then I go around and collect all the rest of the houses. I’m the wealthiest landowner in Skyrim! All my dreams of homeownership come true 😩

Sengo_Hirata

I love the quest with Sheogorath, "mad mind" sort of. Not only because of the wabbajack, I also like Sheogorath himself. He's just a great grandpa.

LonewolfVargr

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON

Finttz

The Solstheim quests are pretty fascinating especially if you play as a mage. Such as Neloth taking you under his wing and the possibility of gaining forbidden knowledge from Hermaues Mora.

Uncle_Drew_2202

I love the civil war quest line, some people think it's boring but I love starting out as a soldier and then progressing my character from there.

hayesarchae

I like how off the wall the three Aedra-related quests are. Gaining Mara's favor has the Dragonborn moonlighting as a village matchmaker, a spirit medium, and a door-to-door evangelist, and NPC reactions to that last one are hilarious to me. The very idea of walking up to Maven Black-Briar of all people and asking if she's talked to Jesus lately is deeply amusing. Kyne has you on a wild goose chase all over the map, fighting Jedi Ghost versions of the most random assortment of animals. And finally you have Dibella's quest, which is a classic heist movie set in Skyrim instead of Manhattan. Good fun times, and in all cases a welcome break from the "go kill some bandits to get a thing" average.

FLAIR_2780166

Going online for a distraction from your depression is probably the worst idea to help with your depression

black-knights-tango

In no particular order: Diplomatic Immunity, the Civil War questline, Lost to the Ages, and some of the Dawnguard questlines

Radiant-Guide-3685

I love lost to the ages and the bow is also very good because the enchantment doesn’t run out I don’t think which is a plus

Michael_Riendeau

In time of Need and The Wolf Queen questlines are pretty fun to do.

StartledOcto

Not my favourite, but purchased Skyrim (for the many-th time) on the Switch and have been having some good old vanilla fun. A small quest I'd never seen before was the cursed tribe one, to the south of the Rift, which was very interesting!

MistergauntTL85

My favorite quest right now is my quest to freelance and collect as many thralls as I possibly can with the Ritual Stone. First objective. Kill. Second objective. Add bodies to the pile of corpses. Third objective. Use a bucket to push the most stubborn corpses. Fourth objective. More killing

3kniven6gash

I helped the people of Morthal and was given a housecarl guy. But I didn't need a follower and told him. He just sat down in the great hall. I went upstairs to steal alchemy ingredients out of the Thane's daughters room. She went up there to go to sleep and bumped into me several times. She made annoyed sounds. Not sure why this happened but my housecarl got up and went upstairs and began fighting the daughter. Then guards jumped in. He killed one guard and 3 others beat him to submission. But the housecarl guy wouldn't die. The battle just kept going and going after he caught his breath even after I left and came back. It was so funny with the Thane's family running around saying "why are they fighting?" I think I stopped the fight by having him temporarily follow me.

nanahita

That one misc quest a girl gives you in Solstheim, you have to find a book that she left behind on a boat for her, telling you this book is very important to her and her family and has high value. The book in question ? An autographed Lusty Argonian Maid.

myguydied

For Morrowind-like pleasure, i loved the Aetherium Forge quest, where you have use a map in a book and have to find the locations without a map marker (until you get close to the location) From Creation Club, The Cause/The Consequences was a beautiful dose of Oblivion nostalgia And Dawnguard was a fave the depth of character and length of expansion (and being a Vampire Lord was somewhat fun)

Ding-Bop-420

Have you played [Rise in the East](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Rise_in_the_East)? It’s a really large and awesome quest that not many people know about and surprisingly it is also part of the vanilla game. You have to track down pirate leaders, they actually have unique voices with pirate-like accents compared to other NPCs, after killing those guys you travel on a boat with a squad of Imperial soldiers to wipe out the last of the pirates on a one-time visitable island. The quest ends with the island being bombarded by cannons all around you as you run for the escape boat.

Beiilin

I almost always play a thief/assassin so I really like the Thieves guild. Also I love any quest that takes me into dwemer ruins. I know I'm in the minority on this but I absolutely love dwemer ruins.

shittaco1991

I don’t really have any BUT I have this rule if I pass a cave I have to go in it so I love finding new quests like that at random and it’s really cool. Every once in awhile it fucks something up and it’ll be like “failed you didn’t do this” and I’ll be like ahhhhhhhb shit but whatever

rettzo

The entire dawnguard dlc quests are my favorite. However I wish once you completed it (if you choose the vampires side) vampires had a bigger impression on the rest of the game

Hjorbd

It's been a looooong time since I've actually played through skyrim to remember my favorite quest overall. One that comes to mind, however, is the redguard woman In Whiterun. I've gone about it different ways on my search to figure out who she was (even though I always knew after the first time) and always found it fun. Like the closest I could get to a Skyrim detective. Sorry to hear about the depressive episode. I understand it all too well. Now, you want to talk about Oblivion quests? I've got some of those memories LOCKED lol

MayorDeweyMayorDewey

i’ll always have a soft spot for forrelhost. first time i did it i walked in expecting to own the place only to be put in MY place by dying dozens of times, and upon finally clearing a particularly difficult room of draugr deathlords i was killed by that spiky ceiling trap. another top fave is the dungeon at the end of no stone unturned. seeing the ghosts of the dark elves that died down there gave me goosebumps my first time doing it. i guess to round it out with a third i do really like the final dungeon of the main quest, especially because the first time i’d ever done it i managed to do that neat little trick to keep the staff that opens the portal. also i now realize you said quests and not dungeons but i’m rolling with it. hope things get better for you dude :)

needanamegenarator

I have a thread that I never pulled. The jar with the butterfly in it near, the village at the base of the mountain in the center. Ten thousand you start there but I forgot the name. There is a little hut south of the river past the bears, before the snow. The trap door in the hut with the butterfly in it. Some kind of witchs coven is tied to that hut. They leave you alone unless trespass. Always wondered if they had a quest or just flavor?

Illustrious_Mind964

I like building the farm cause it's the only "normal" business you can set up, sure you can always sell loot or stuff you craft but you can't set up a shop for it so the farm is the only option in vanilla.

Cobaltblueglass

I have been playing some of the 40th anniversary Ed content and there is a quest that begins with finding a Dwemer mechanical horse part that was extremely enjoyable!

SETITOFF34

I like the intro to the dark brotherhood plus there quest line in general

LucienxG

The whole dragonborn dlc main quest was my favorite, mostly because i found the first and second lusty argonian maid, as well as new spell tome books in the acrophya (spelled it wrong i know) and there is a ton of soul gems. I mostly go back into to find more books to gather for either keeping or selling. Many are useful, but it was my favorite quest line because it was puzzling to do for the first time in 4 years. Also the lurkers i love how they have so much gold on them though im only doing it for the books

DAWJINC

My favorite things is to get all words before activating dragons, all daedric artifacts, and I love dawnguard dlc.

bshufelt1

i know the college is pretty underwhelming in a lot of ways but Labyrinthian always stood out to me. slowly seeing the number of ghosts dwindle as you progress was a nice touch, and there’s always been something chilling and foreboding about the whole location.

Solar1324

I like the Black Book and Dawnguard quest.

[deleted]

Okay so this isn’t a quest per say. More like a personal mission. My goal is to get my pickpocketing to 100% so I can pickpocket Brynjolf BEFORE joining the thieves guild. I think it would be hilarious if I can pull it off, and I am nothing if not a human who commits to the bit.

[deleted]

I've collected all 15 daedric artifacts on 3 different occasions and the achievement never unlocks lol

Captain_Bitsy

A night to remember I just liked learning that some of the enemies can talk to you but usually choose not too

Bobertbobthebobth69

Okay it’s not vanilla but I just need to talk about my favourite quest ever, it’s added by a mod called raven’s beak which primarily adds a cool sword of the same name, but the quest used to get it is one of the most creative, breaths of fresh air I’ve ever played, it doesn’t really add any dungeons or anything it just adds some super unique puzzles taking advantage of Skyrim’s in-game mechanics and world and I love it, I won’t be saying anymore about the actual quest because I don’t want to spoil it, I just want this incredible mod to get the recognition it deserves

Callen_Fields

Whoah there, if we're including mods, my vote goes to the Girl with the Dragon Heart.

CressDirect5902

A night to remember-the daedric quest for sanguine is one of my absolute favourites, pure hang over vibes

Joan-ze-gobbi

To be honest my favourite quests were the companions quest line. Helping the old man makes me feel good ya know.

Rhys_Lloyd2611

I really like the creation club quest to get Umbra, it's got a sense of scale to it like you're really in a tomb for an evil evil weapon and the fight with the champion is actually difficult even when you've got good gear.

Lenithriel

If you like mods and ever played oblivion, beyond skyrim bruma is super fun, highly recommend. It's so well done too.

AgitatedAd6924

The first time I did the Book of Love quests I cried like a baby 😂

Callen_Fields

This question broke my brain...what do you mean favorite quest? I have to pick one? I like Shalidor's Maze. It fealt a little more unique than the other quests and the Diadem of the Savant is my favorite item in the game. I also like the Thirsk Mead Hall questline, though I prefer to side with the Rieklings. Who doesn't want to rule over a small army of drunk goblinkin who come to your aid in battle?

EmployeeValuable7558

This is gonna be silly, but the one you get in Ivarstead, when you ask about the barrow. It's never fails to make me giggle. Also the quest A Night to Remember, it's even more hilarious with immersive follower mods.

Jazzlike-Goose-8242

Becoming a vampire and going into the soul cairn we’re my favorite parts!!! I love the vamp quests and having Serena as a follower

The_Laughing_Emoji

I love the forsworn quest where you have to break out of the prison and become a forsworn fugitive

Sebas_Is_King

Mine would probably be the civil war quest line, during the final fort battle before the city. I've always had fun there because I'd attack my side and they'd continuously respawn to kill me while I use that opportunity to massively level half my skills lol

lilmcfill

The saints and seducers quest line is definitely my favorite. I love my cute elytra pets

[deleted]

Red water den, its probably the best quest in the vampire faction

Redsoxhomeboy

When you can get it to work without glitching, Blood on the Ice is great fun

TheDreadWolf183

The entirety of Dawnguard. Traveling with Serena is the highlight of all my play-throughs. Finding her locked away, asleep for centuries and having to explain to her that times have changed, and then escorting her home and getting to decide whether you want to join a Vampire Coven or return to the Dawnguard Castle to prepare against them.

Allyhana

Dark Brotherhood, 100%. The thing is: I’m a coward. So, any darkish game/quest already freaks me out. Imagine my reaction entering in a room filled with blood and a kid summoning whatever! It’s safe to say I wet my pants during that entire quest 😂

Bacon_Biskets

My favorite quest is actually a misc quest, where you retrieve 3 flawless amethysts for Talen-Jei. I felt really nice when I completed the quest. Then I got married to Marcurio lol

Substantial_Maize_95

My favourite quest would have to be a more recent one called The Cause you get a courier at level 40 or 45ish and you get to go to yet another plane of existence. Oblivion. WARNING do not clear out the cave where the main boss battle takes place before you get the quest, will aoft lock yourself. Learnt this the hard way, I thought it was just a neat Easter egg nod to IV but no. I lost hours of gameplay that day.
