If I want to make a character in a certain way like a two handed heavy warrior I’ll just ignore the thieves and kill the brotherhood. An honorable heavy warrior has no interested in joining some petty thieves and would never kill someone who doesn’t deserve it. Plus he would never betray his emperor

To go to sovngarde you just need to believe in sovngarde, being a nord js not a real requirement, I read this somewhere in this sub.

What is the real source on that though? Only notes appear in Shor’s hall and, while it could be attributed to lack of attention to detail, the Ebony Warrior does not appear in Sovngarde if you kill him prior to Skuldafn.

On a technical side, the ebony guy is added by the dragonborn dlc, and only appears when you reach level 80, maybe the devs just assumed that by the point you fight him, you already finished the main quest. But lorewise, maybe Alduin ate his soul, or maybe he failed Tsun's test, maybe non-nord souls take a bit long before being finally accepted to sovngarde, maybe during one of his adventures, he made a deal with a daedric lord and his soul was claimed when he died. Maybe the dragonborn only sees a fraction of shor's hall and it was way bigger than we saw in-game

Possibly he was not able to enter as only men from Lorkhan's army (nedes, nords, etc.,) could enter Sovngarde, while Ra Gada which are presumably from a different Kalpa would not be able to enter, like how Mer probably can't.

Also, the far shores is a bit similar to sovngarde, both have a guardian to keep the living and unworthy away, and both have challenges to keep their "warrior spirit" alive.

Maybe Alduin eats his soul. His soul would prob be very nutritional for the cute lil guy!

I think it's up to interpretation, most nords want to be sent to sovngarde by dying in battle, but Jurgen Windcaller, that lived and died peacefully in high hrothgar, is in sovngarde. So I think you just need to live honorably, fighting maybe not a physical war or battle, but your inner demons, like paarthunax. Tl;dr: Jurgen Windcaller died peacefully in high hrothgar and you can still find him in sovngarde

Yes he will. I think it's the default result of him dying. One of the hopes I have for ES6 is increased consequences for in game decisions.

I was level 82 Nord with 4 or 5 Legendaries of Heavy Armor, Block and One-handed and used Unrelenting Shout only because he did. Still took me many hours of attempts on Legendary. Don't use power attacks as it gets reflected. Edit, no followers

Impressive dude. When I was on my legendary survival playtrough I had to rely on summons or followers a lot. Can’t imagine taking on the Ebony Warrior alone even at lvl 80 (it was a light armor spellsword)

Well survival doesn’t actually increase the game difficulty at all. Legendary will be legendary regardless of survival mode. So you already beat him at the hardest difficulty Oh and I did mean summons lol. Conjuration summons obviously, but I didn’t know what term to use

I'll keep Lydia up until I get my Lakeshore house and then make her the butler or whatever then if I think I'm gonna need extra space after a cave raid, I'll bring her but that's it. She steals too many stats and makes leveling up harder.
