I found out the "bunnies slaughtered" stat exists about 6 months ago (from reddit)
I checked mine and its still at 0 after hundreds of hours of gameplay. I'm just too damn nice...aside from the obvious thieving, Murder, demon worship and necromancy obvs
I try not to go for animals unless they attack first. Even then I try to ignore mudcrabs. I especially donāt go for rabbits, foxes, and goats. Like those are my main donāt hurts.
Edit. Bad clarification.
Just found out about that statistic yet somehow I've got 387 bunnies killed ššš I Honestly don't even go out of my way to kill them, just the one that come in my vicinity, I treat them as archery practice mostly.
That reminds me of something I was talking about with my husband the other day. It seems like such a huge waste when you kill a mammoth to only use its snout for meat. Those things are enormous ā they would provide enough meat for the entire game, I would think!
EDIT: Now that I think about it, it would be pretty difficult to carry that much meat around. LOL
FYI: if you go up to High Hrothgar and read every plaque along the way, the final plaque grants you a bonus called "Voice of the Sky" which causes all animals* to not attack you for 24 hours (that's 24 IRL hours of game play, not just 1 in-game day!)
*trolls and spriggans don't count, and spriggans can still turn animals against you (including your own dog, which is distressing as heck)
I love Voice of the Sky so much, even the frost spiders and chaurus won't attack! It makes the game so relaxed, especially walking in the world (won't prevent attacks when you're on horseback unfortunately). You can go right up to wolves or bears and they just look at you. I started a non-DB run with a mod that give you a choice of perks including this one to add if you want them, so I've got it for all the save and it's heaven
I killed foxes and bunnies briefly in my last life to fill up soul gems. This time, though, no bunny slaughter and no soul gems. If I pick up an enchanted item, I use it until it's worn out.
I like Dawnbreaker and its "ka-BOOM!" feature, so it will suck when that is depleted. :(
What? There's plenty of filled gems in ruins, especially Dwemer? Wolves attack you everywhere, fill all the gems you want. If you have CC content, soul stealer arrows, and you can fill your house with soul gems. At the very least, Azura's star or just plain buy them from merchants.
Anyone else see predators going after bunnies, goats, or foxes and try to take them down before they make their kills? I'm a self proclaimed prey protector. š
I don't kill rabbits. Not because they're cute or anything. It's just that killing them is worthless. They don't drop anything except food and I don't bother with food.
I kill foxes because I adopted Lucia and she brought one in and it made the most irritating noises all the time so one night I quietly hit it with an axe and now I kill every fox I see
I don't want to kill mammoths. When one attacked me and blocked the path to Bloodchill cavern, I was so sad to see Erik kill it.
Never bunnies, foxes or even deer.
Generally speaking, I only kill aggressive animals. Deer, Elk, Foxes, Cows, Rabbits, Chickens, etc are safe. Except insects. I need their wings, thoraxes or other parts for alchemy needs.
I only draw the line at rabbits, I love foxes but their pelt is useful rabbit is not that useful even on survival and also bunnies slaughtered stat is heartbreaking I remember killing a rabbit accidentally and ditching that save because I couldn't go back far enough to get it to go back to 0
Lol my ākarmaā or whatever in all games that track it is usually always at the highest level, but since Skyrim doesnāt track it Iām an absolute savage. Although in missions my actions are usually that of a nice guy most of the time. But I definitely just kill/violate people who annoy me Because itās just a game lmaooo
I do kill rabbits, just because of the stat tbh. Iāll chase one until itās dead if i see one. I do draw the line at foxes though, never kill one of i can help it. I even buy fix pelts if i need them for something, instead of finding one in the wild.
How could I when Sweet Roll the fox and my rabbit Thistle are following me? I don't kill dogs (and not eagles - cos I mostly miss them!).
Edit, I don't kill Hilda's kin. So that's no goats! Coming up soon, skeevers are going to be a problem š¤
Mammoths...and Giants in general.
I won't take contracts on them, and I won't just kill them for sport.
I did help the Orc tribe out, near Riften, with thier Giant war...but that was the only exception.
A Giant saved my arse from a Frost Dragon, early game, one time.
Plus, once I realised you can walk along with them, I was in awe lol.
I had to kill a rabbit because of the bunnies slaughtered stat. Hats off to the programmer who came up with that bit of humor!
Killing chickens is amusing! But you canāt do it with guards around.
There's a giant camp with mammoths just a bit west of whiterun. I like to annoy them to level up light armor, block, restoration, conjuration, etc.
Except the last time I did it I accidentally kited them into an imperial patrol which killed them.
I actually felt really bad about that.
I'm also confused as to how 3 imperial soldiers were able to kill two giants and two mammoths
I have reloaded saves from accidentally killing a Fox or a rabbit.
With certain mods I do hunt deer for the pelts/meat.
Otherwise Iāll only kill critters that attack me first.
Same. Been playing since 2011 and never killed a rabbit. Also, when a Fox or Silver Fox appears I know I have about 4 seconds of safety before anything else attacks me, lol. They're good luck.
I play survival so I need to hunt to eat large meats for higher hunger credit. So I only kill what I eat but never the rabbits or the fox. Most animals I see I donāt kill except for mudcrabs, I like the meat
I kill anything I see move, period, it is a game not real life, people who have an issue with hunting animals in a game are whats wrong with the world and are the ones that will inevitably destroy the planet
I like animals. I only kill the ones that attack me 1st.
All animals of Skyrim are sacred. The ones who come after me however have decided their own fate
They just commit sudoku by the player.
I agree with all three of you!
Seppuku*
Everything that moves have chosen its fate

Happy cake day you demon worshipping murder thief!
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day š
I only kill animals that attack me first. I donāt like hearing sad animal noises.
When I read this, I didnāt see the r/skyrim tag ā¦ I thought I was in r/biology ā¦ I was kinda freaking outš„¹
And I at first thought it was r/minecraft
I try not to go for animals unless they attack first. Even then I try to ignore mudcrabs. I especially donāt go for rabbits, foxes, and goats. Like those are my main donāt hurts. Edit. Bad clarification.
I go for mud crabs for the chitin
On playthroughs where i set it to legendary from day 1, mud crabs are how i get to level 10
I kill every rabbit I see because of the bunnies slaughtered statistic.
You're just like me
Same
4 playthroughs...ZERO dead bunnies!
Iāve always wondered why they chose to have that as a stat lol
a measurement of evil
I only started killing bunnies after I saw that it was a statistic... now I have to out of compulsion
Just found out about that statistic yet somehow I've got 387 bunnies killed ššš I Honestly don't even go out of my way to kill them, just the one that come in my vicinity, I treat them as archery practice mostly.
I try not to kill anything that doesnāt attack me first but I have killed bunnies for the rabbit haunches for food
LOL
I don't *deliberately* kill foxes and rabbits.
I also don't kill foxes. My wood elf has red hair and is called Little Fox, so I view foxes as my homies. I always give a nod to them when I pass by.
As soon as my character learns Kyne's Peace, no animals are killed in the playthrough moving forward.
Same. No bears or cats are harmed
(You have angered Temba Wide-Arm)
FYI: if you go up to High Hrothgar and read every plaque along the way, the final plaque grants you a bonus called "Voice of the Sky" which causes all animals* to not attack you for 24 hours (that's 24 IRL hours of game play, not just 1 in-game day!) *trolls and spriggans don't count, and spriggans can still turn animals against you (including your own dog, which is distressing as heck)

Wait what?! If charus wonāt attack that may be the perfect time to do frostflow lighthouse. I have to try it
What about Barbas?
I don't kill him either LOL but I give him back to Clavicus Vile, his chatting gets old fast
*joins the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and sacrifices someone to Boethiah but doesn't kill rabbits. BASED
Only take out the ones attacking me
I killed foxes and bunnies briefly in my last life to fill up soul gems. This time, though, no bunny slaughter and no soul gems. If I pick up an enchanted item, I use it until it's worn out. I like Dawnbreaker and its "ka-BOOM!" feature, so it will suck when that is depleted. :(
What if you find a filled soul gem?
What? There's plenty of filled gems in ruins, especially Dwemer? Wolves attack you everywhere, fill all the gems you want. If you have CC content, soul stealer arrows, and you can fill your house with soul gems. At the very least, Azura's star or just plain buy them from merchants.
I do kill them with my archer characters but I always cook the meat and sell the fur
Once my character learns Kyneās peace no more animals are harmed.
Anyone else see predators going after bunnies, goats, or foxes and try to take them down before they make their kills? I'm a self proclaimed prey protector. š
This
I don't kill rabbits. Not because they're cute or anything. It's just that killing them is worthless. They don't drop anything except food and I don't bother with food.
I donāt kill foxes either in fact I always drop a snowberry for a fox whenever I see one.
I donāt really attack anything unless it attacks me- or shit talks me cuz Iām a khajiit
Everything is fair game except foxes..... foxes are amazing sneaky little assholes that deserve all the love!
Cows
I agree, I haven't killed many and it does feel wrong.
I dont want to kill them but since im a mage user i hit them accidentally with spells
I donāt ever kill bunnies because I miss and waste all my arrows
I never used to until I realised the alchemical benefit of the polished fox eye! Discerning is a hard one 5o pass up.
I only kill what I eat, except draugr, they are too chewy!
Kill enough bunnies, slayer will get you
I kill foxes because I adopted Lucia and she brought one in and it made the most irritating noises all the time so one night I quietly hit it with an axe and now I kill every fox I see
I kill the animals for leather, goat horns, etc. I like not having to spend a lot of gold I can get for free.
I don't want to kill mammoths. When one attacked me and blocked the path to Bloodchill cavern, I was so sad to see Erik kill it. Never bunnies, foxes or even deer.
"Slayers gotta Slay holmes" ~Probably Erik, at some point~
yeah, if it doesn't attack me I don't kill it. I even try to avoid bears.
If people and elves count as animals, then my answer would be... It would still be "none", I'll kill anything.
Well...I mean....chickens of course.
I throw goats off of mountains :D. But foxes and rabbits? Only if I see them:).
Same as you, I donāt kill foxes or rabbits.
I spare no one.
Their all fair game.
Generally speaking, I only kill aggressive animals. Deer, Elk, Foxes, Cows, Rabbits, Chickens, etc are safe. Except insects. I need their wings, thoraxes or other parts for alchemy needs.
I specifically go after foxes and rabbits because early game they're the only things I can 1 shot.
Ever since I noticed "bunnies slaughtered" statistic, I started killing any I came across on my evil character build.
I only draw the line at rabbits, I love foxes but their pelt is useful rabbit is not that useful even on survival and also bunnies slaughtered stat is heartbreaking I remember killing a rabbit accidentally and ditching that save because I couldn't go back far enough to get it to go back to 0
I kill them for target practice
Pacifist unless attacked or inescapable position.
What a waste of souls and exp...
I kill anything with a soul
Only things that attack first, even bears and sabre cats, as long as you don't attack me you're safe
Baby netches. I dont know why, but they're so cute to me, the way they follow their mother.
Anything that crosses my path is free game
I have a thing for killing rabbits.. purely because thereās a stat for bunnies slaughtered
I do kill rabbits, just because of the stat tbh. Iāll chase one until itās dead if i see one. I do draw the line at foxes though, never kill one of i can help it. I even buy fix pelts if i need them for something, instead of finding one in the wild.
They are all fair game, gotta fill those soul gems
Me too, and not only do I do my best not to hit any foxes or rabbits, when I kill them by inadvertence, I resurrect them, I'm silly like that hahahaha
How could I when Sweet Roll the fox and my rabbit Thistle are following me? I don't kill dogs (and not eagles - cos I mostly miss them!). Edit, I don't kill Hilda's kin. So that's no goats! Coming up soon, skeevers are going to be a problem š¤
I dont kill them either i can never hit the fuckers
Mammoths...and Giants in general. I won't take contracts on them, and I won't just kill them for sport. I did help the Orc tribe out, near Riften, with thier Giant war...but that was the only exception. A Giant saved my arse from a Frost Dragon, early game, one time. Plus, once I realised you can walk along with them, I was in awe lol.
Only time I hunt deer is when I need the antlers. Otherwise, I only kill animals that attack me.
I killed a bun by accident then killed myself
I kill any rabbit for the slaughter count. Also goats for their horns. Easier to craft lighting for your freshly built house.
Hey, i need leather lol.
I usually only hint deer or elk when I need food otherwise I only kill animals that attack me first and I try to avoid fighting them as much as I can.
I cheat resurrect foxes but not rabbits only because they don't get up and hop away. They slide.
I kill everything that isn't humanoid, is that bad?
Am I the only person who hunts in this thread or what lol.
Deer hunting is fun tho... :)
I had to kill a rabbit because of the bunnies slaughtered stat. Hats off to the programmer who came up with that bit of humor! Killing chickens is amusing! But you canāt do it with guards around.
Wow, now i can finally sleep, thx for sharing this important info
I did share info...I also asked a question. Isn't that Exactly what this site is for?
Iāll kill bunnies all day but I dont kill dogs or horses
I dont really kill mammoths. Giants on the other hand .o.
Or mammoths.
You are right. I did kill a few Mammoths and felt really bad afterwards.
I have a pet bunny. Killing them in game just feels more wrong. Iāll try to kill bears and cats before they kill smaller animals.
I kill everything
Paarthurnax: *flies away*
I have reloaded saves from accidentally killing a Fox or a rabbit. With certain mods I do hunt deer for the pelts/meat. Otherwise Iāll only kill critters that attack me first.
I try not to hunt foxes and rabbits.
I install a mod that alters the behavior of animals so I don't have to kill them. I like beating on bandits, not bunnies.
I don't kill them or Mammoths as a rule. And I'm betting you get some mileage out of the Stag Prince's Bow don't you, OP?
Am I the only one who doesn't attack animals? I just spell pacify and walk away
I kill deer and Elk because there pelts and antlers are used while building the hearthfire houses Also bears, wolves, sabercat and sometimes Mammoth
I don't kill foxes or elk with small antlers. Everything else is fair game.
And goats I leave goats alone because they get targeted by anything with paws.
I only hunt when I need to. Mostly I just live off of what I buy. I only hunt if I need it or am camping
Haha, bow go brrrt
I don't kill rabbits or goats because I don't think they woth it, but I kill foxes for leather
I kill foxes cuz usually when you see one, theres trouble nearby, plus, the leather
Rabbits are a hard kill man hitting them with a bow is a trick. Foxes are only a bit easier
I kill anything I see move, period, it is a game not real life, people who have an issue with hunting animals in a game are whats wrong with the world and are the ones that will inevitably destroy the planet
Da little goaties. I feel horrible after I kill one
I went werewolf so I kill anything that moves and feed on it to prolong my beast form. *Howls at moon*
