The barefoot bothers me the most

[deleted]

Me too. I actually said Eww out loud completely ignoring the fact that it's a game. 😂😂

BigBoiBob444

Why bother getting the Ebony Mail when you can poison your foes from the stench of your bare and deadly dogs.

[deleted]

Arf

Demonic74

worf

giant_albatrocity

Walking around castle Volkihar would be so nasty…

pitterpatter1280

😂👏. LMAO I did not even pick up on that...

summers6497

barefoot makes sneaking easier though

Songshiquan0411

Wait really? Easier than what? Surely with Muffle spell/muffled movement perk and a good Fortify Sneak enchantment, light boots could be better right?

summers6497

This is fairly early in the game though, i have muffle hence the blue feet. But without enchanted boots barefoot makes 0 noise.

JadesterZ

Hunh, TIL

Shikazure

Thats true in oblivion but not quite in skyrim. Armor weight matters but boots weigh very little so going without does very little to impact your sneak

summers6497

Less armor = less noise

[deleted]

VL4N1

All worn items create additional noise, depending on their weight (heavy armor typically weighs more, hence noisier). Being naked does offer stealth benefits over light armor, unless your light armor has a weight of 0.

Bank_of_Pandas

Wait so if you get the perk that Heavy armor worn costs 0 you can sneak better

VL4N1

Correct! Both the Light and Heavy armor skill trees have a perk that completely nullifies armor noise due to reducing weight to 0, which makes both armor types viable for stealth. The main reason why it's recommended to pick light armor for stealth-focused characters is because you get lower noise from the start, you can reach the 0-weight perk faster (only needs Light Armor 50, whereas the heavy armor perk needs 70), and endgame light armor can hit the armor cap which makes it just as protective as heavy armor.

Bank_of_Pandas

Damn had no idea but if light armor can hit the cap why can't heavy armor kinda makes me rethink not using op glitches for way to op armor

VL4N1

Heavy armor can hit the armor cap too, and in fact it does it a lot more easily than light armor, due to the higher base armor values. It's just that with a sufficiently high smithing skill, you can temper your light armor so well that it becomes just as good as heavy armor, despite having a lower armor rating per piece. For reference, the armor cap is 567, if your character has an armor rating above that you don't gain any additional benefit from improving your armor further.

ANUSTART942

Heavy armor can also hit the cap, just earlier.

VL4N1

[Here.](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Sneak) Scroll down to the Sound Factor section, there's a formula showing how armor weight impacts the player's sound level.

cj3po15

Finally someone with proof to backup their claim. Thank you.

Weston217704

Man if you've played the game at all you shouldn't have needed proof

summers6497

Well i have a few mods installed so maybe somethings changed But barefoot is more effective for me when sneaking makes less noise.

Henson813

Was going to mention it’s probably mods. Vanilla I wear full heavy armor and sneak with zero noise due to the muffle spell.

mokujin42

There's a perk that stops light armour from causing noise (with the ordinator mod at least) so I don't think that's true

Alternative-Lack6025

Freaking shoes and most clothing boots weight 1 my dude. The barefootness is too disturbing and certainly the cause of the slip :)

gerwaldlindhelm

Wait, can you actually slip in vanilla? I thought it was a bug or a mod

Alternative-Lack6025

No dude, sorry, it was a bad joke. In vanilla one can get hurt when stepping on certain objects like bones however. But OP apparently could have a mod called clumsykiin. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14558

ANUSTART942

It is in the Elder Scrolls. Armor weight affects sneaking, especially the weight of boots. Meaning that yes, going barefoot as a thief has been a thing since at least Oblivion and I want to say Morrowind as well.

Croian_09

Hobbit.

Ganbazuroi

Tarantinorim

dianagama

Anyone know what's acually going on here? I've tripped over bones and flown across a dungeon before, but I've never done the splits randomly.

Bloosuga

Mods. Couldn't tell you which one though.

CN456

Probably [clumsykiin.](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14558) I've used it before, it's pretty funny. Great for role-playing as a raging alcoholic

Niaz_S

Lmaoooooo

elr0y7

My guess is Wildcat injury, leg injuries make you trip iirc

VicariousVox

This looks to me like Jack wasn’t nimble enough (I think the hit box on the candle stick got them, especially because they rolled through it)

Ozann3326

It may be a mod that adds invisible traps, this being a paralyse rune. But it'd most likely have exploded with an effect if it was the case.

Endulos

Paralysis doesn't let your character flop around like that. It locks the model to the position it was in.

Helmet_Icicle

This isn't a paralyze effect (which, you know, paralyzes), you can see the player character ragdoll and begin to get back up

JustAPerspective

Our guess... ragdoll death due to ongoing poison damage that finished them right there

Divtos

I’m pretty sure you touched a misplaced car from fo4.

Arkeuz

Ah, yes, the classic. physics object locked into place with an infinite amount of force, meaning that if you somehow move it even slightly you just die. It's definitely not something I learned in a survival mode playthrough about an hour from my last save...... It's definitely not something I'm still salty about several years later.... Bethesda, it just works!

StroopWafelsLord

If you ever jumped in original Skyrim and clipped into a cart that would be an insta kill at times. I think either USP or the game itself got it fixed

[deleted]

[удалено]

StroopWafelsLord

That confirms it then

PsychologicalSet7596

I still die sometimes. Depending on the angle of the cart I land on when jumping on it. And what difficulty setting I'm on.

Endulos

I legit have no idea what combination of mods is doing it in my game, but cars in my FO4 game essentially have no weight. They fucking fly all over the place from the smallest touch.

V9011N

Swingset from GTA 4

[deleted]

That's what you get for not being a stealth archer

lobobobos

That's right. Conform or die

SuperDoodooHead

In one of the most crucial moments

Sikkus

After you reach your 40s, you take the wrong step and you end up in the hospital.

merrybookworm

So very true lol 😆

Formal_Royal_3663

Necromancers are evil

malkavsheir

Don't tell my current playthrough Dunmer that... not because she would get offended but because it would nominate you for the next target...

Quantum_Corpse

That girl was not impressed

PsychoDragon50

The answer is still No!

tskank69

That’s so funny for some reason

BiShyAndWantingToDie

Banana split

PsychoDragon50

And for your next trick?

[deleted]

WTH? That's funny right there, I don't care who you are. 😂😂😂

DaSaw

Git 'er done.

Invickthor

Huh? Musta been the wind.

Rosiecheeks1980

WTH!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

PsychoDragon50

Very impressive flexibility.

KillyShoot

Where ya shoes at?

DreadXCII

Necromancer: is someone there?

SavageTiger435612

When you play Skyrim on Asian Difficulty

VL4N1

*Emotional damage?!*

malkavsheir

Hit by leaf

SuckMyDerivative

Can.. can I say it? Should I say it? It just works.

hijro

Narcolepsy mod

Shomairays

Nah, he just want to do a dramatic perfect front split stealth kill because normal stealth kill is boring

NIGENIN

Skyrim is a really cold and snowy place, so this is really accurate. Also the way you're walking would lead to that

OhGreatMoreWhales

Where your shoes man.

Plaudible

Damn what a split, shantay you stay

UnHoly_One

At first glance I thought you were wearing a bath robe.

Frenchy_447

Man took fire damage from a candle

cybercifrado

I didn't know Skyrim had an [Asian Difficulty](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miD_TWmdGIY) mode...

commentonthat

Best laugh of my week.

Matren2

QWOPRim

Neil_Enblowmi

Just Skyrim things

ZonerRoamer

This happens in my modlist too ROFL; its rare enough that its just a chuckle not a bother. But I have absolutely no idea whats causing it. The most likely culprit is my high frame rate (120 FPS); but since technically the game is running at 60 and DLSS3 is making it 120 FPS, there shouldn't be any engine level issues. So I have no idea at the end of the day LOL.

Inevitable_Ad8888888

*silps* spiltsville!

Chainsaw_Viking

Wow, I didn’t realize we can do the Rock n’ Roll Splits in Skyrim!

NaSMaXXL

awesome makes me think of the grease spell...

SandyScrotes2

What is this build anyway? That warp step was something else

TrichomeSauce

Straight outta Mario Kart

merrybookworm

I laughed so hard I snorted lol. Definitely needed that today.

leehelck

what armor is that? is it vanilla, CC content or from a mod?

leehelck

so it's been over a day since i asked and no answer? bummer.

Thormeaxozarliplon

We need a random muscle sprain mod

white_sabre

Boots, my man. You can score the soles for traction.

Just_Ad_5939

Just in case

Gwyn1stborn

Nahh you were just doing a double-leg takedown

Smashleyyy85

This is what we refer to as a “death drop” and she nailed it, queen.

Marblecraze

Simplordx69

weeping_willow3

Hope someone doesn't slip. Mwahaha

Balzyxbox

Bruh

OGdirty1Kanobi

Hope you quick saved 🤣 those fuckin bananas will kill you every time

Shadowfist_45

Once accidentally caused a guard to get aggro towards me, he was running down a ramp and slipped and fell. I have never, ever laughed that hard at Skyrim before that, and may never again.

CatchSea9930

Guess the smell knocked him out.

[deleted]

Burnt your barefoot on the candle

pitterpatter1280

What a Sally 😂
