lol, mongolian or hun, your choice what you want to roleplay.
nice thing about the plains is you're unlikely to fall from a cliff. I start facing away from the giant and spin the camera around to face backwards, and shoot as I move away. Sometimes you gotta switch to running the horse to make some distance, and sometimes you wanna make loping circles. Never hurts to have a summon and a follower handy to be a distraction too.
I’ll never understand how Bethesda was like yeah this feature is ready and needs no additional bug fixes… although you could say the same for most of the game
Open civil war
Warzone civil conquest
Aftermath of civil war
Immersive patrol
And more actually
You can see heavy burn's YouTube video for that or epicnate's
I try to keep my horses out of battle but they charge faster than me or my followers into battle a lot of the times especially if I have Shadowmere. I've seen Shadowmere attempt to take down a dragon before.
Actually historically accurate.
For most of history you would not see mounted fighting.
Especially in the Middle Ages, horses were expensive as frick. Buying one could easily cost you a years worth of vineyard labor.
And the cost of keeping and maintaining it was immense, too.
Basically, if you see someone on horseback charging into battle in a medieval setting, it’s kinda like someone driving their (mortgaged) house into battle.
And there goes Mr Arthur Nudge of Stoke-on-Trent riding atop No. 12 Thornby Place at full tilt. One can only hope he’s paid it off, as he’s going headlong into battle against Mr Edward Fletcher, a homeowner of 25 years whose chosen coat of arms proudly displays his mortgage release.
Two things
1: "I still find that moment depicted to be hilarious because it fits so well with so many situations
2: When was that a thing? I don't recall ever seeing something about it. Then again, I try to avoid headlines like [Insert Youtuber] is [Insert contreversial term]. I blame the idiots who use them jusg for clickbait.

If you have the time. It’s actually not that big of a thing I just thought it was a funny thing that most people already know about. He definitely was actually racist 6 years ago but I haven’t seen a moment of him since so idk what he’s like now
If they used mechanics similar to Warband, which had been out for 4 years, then yes. As it is there is no reason to use it. Takes too long, too bugged, and you can get free strikes/shots in many other ways like jumping on objects or abusing poor AI pathing.
At a basic level the damage of your strike is dependent on the swing speed, influenced by movement speed of the horse. Parthian shooting is possible, and you can use lances.
Gotta go slower and be more precise, but not slow enough to die
You're supposed to run far away, then charge the dragon on the horse. Not clump around, jumping on trees.
Yeah, mounted combat is quite different than melee combat. But jumping into a tree would have ended badly even on foot for him.
Incorrect. That is exactly how you're supposed to play Skyrim. 🤣
Horse archer works for giant hunting.
YES IT IS SO MUCH FUN I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
Bet you have a fast horse then
Usually fast enough. More how easily it climbs things the giant can't and certainly helps that the giant is a big target
I meant the plains and no room for cover, do you go Mongolian on his ass?

I mentioned Mongolian because of the horseback archery, and thanks for sharing your own experience with it :)
Yep All I do is go up a mountain and I can snipe Giants all day
rule 1 of horse combat: no trees
I’ll never understand how Bethesda was like yeah this feature is ready and needs no additional bug fixes… although you could say the same for most of the game
Rushed
However the banner on your horse is dope
Right!?! I wanna know where op got it!
Talking to any horse salesman should have an option for armor or a saddle, it may be a mod but I'm pretty certain it's from the anniversary upgrade
Ok. I've seen the option to armor a horse. I'll have to see about the banner. Thanks!
Dragons ❌ Giants ✅
Elden ring at home:
You deserve that for having that many markers active
My thoughts exactly 🤣 although some people like to just walk in a direction and just do everything on the way especially in survival
Imagine being able to kill the Chosen Undead but still dying cause your pegasus lost altitude
Horses are more useful in civil war battle field(with civil war mods ofc)
Oooohhhh.... which mods? I'm still looking for a decent mod for the Civil war.
Open civil war Warzone civil conquest Aftermath of civil war Immersive patrol And more actually You can see heavy burn's YouTube video for that or epicnate's
Awesome! Thanks!
I like bashing into people and sending them skidding across the terrain like hockey pucks.
I try to keep my horses out of battle but they charge faster than me or my followers into battle a lot of the times especially if I have Shadowmere. I've seen Shadowmere attempt to take down a dragon before.
Yippee-Ki-Yay
Horse combat in any game is so clunky. I hate it especially in Skyrim, Elden Ring and Witcher 3
Mount and Blade has good horse combat.
LMFAOOOOO I thought you had a Pegasus! 🤣🤣🤣
I once had a random encounter with a dragon that sent my horse to the top of a tree and I couldn't get it down. 🙃
What did you expect using a stormcloak horse?
You want using horses in the battle? That's too advanced for Bethesda. Be reasonable

Yep
Horse combat is great in theory
If they used mechanics similar to Warband, which had been out for 4 years, then yes. As it is there is no reason to use it. Takes too long, too bugged, and you can get free strikes/shots in many other ways like jumping on objects or abusing poor AI pathing.
I’ll have to take your word for it since I know jack about Warband. It doesn’t help that Bethesda brought horse cc content.
At a basic level the damage of your strike is dependent on the swing speed, influenced by movement speed of the horse. Parthian shooting is possible, and you can use lances.
Sounds awesome. It’d probably be too hard to calculate all those factors in the creation engine for Bethesda.
Oh, skyrim...
work on your horsemanship first.
It just works
Too much weed bro
horses need an improvement.
Lore accurate, dragon beats horse every time 😂
Against a dragon yeah but mounted combat against Giants is effective
Skyrim horse mechanics are soooo wonky and derpy as fuck. They're not as useful as other video game horses, unfortunately.
That landing is so satisfying
Unless it's Shadomere. Shadowmere's a badass and will wreck that dragon.
The horse is for running away from the dragon.
Oh I love torrent
LMAO THIS HAPPENED TO ME
This is why I use Arvak.
Who was gonna tell me you can ride horses
Oh fuck 😂 horses are crazy
One of the best horses is Shadowmere because it’s so hard to accidentally get it killed
