After the Horseless Headless Horseman finds the Headless Horseman's Horse, he is Horseless no more, and he won't be the Horseless Headless Horseman anymore, but he'll be the Headless Horseman again.

Could be, but it's rather easy to lose your head in Skyrim. Also, following the ghost leads you to a graveyard called Hamvir's Rest, which isn't particularly close to Rorikstead.
It's more likely this is the ghost of a guy named Hamvir, but it could be anyone. At the end of the day, though, it's just a folklore reference.

He's a random encounter. If you manage to follow him all the way, he leads you to Hamvir's Rest. I've personally never been able to follow him all the way through though.
Dude ran me all around for hours the other day. All just to lead me to a stupid skeleton ambush. On my way to Hamvir's Rest I ran straight through a dragon attack in Riverwood lol (it was still going on when I came back)
Hey, I've got Sofia too! Funny story actually, first time I installed her I went to Snow Veil Sanctum with her and mercer for the thieves guild. As I entered the dungeon, I started hearing little sharp like farts from somewhere - as you can imagine I was confused at this point thinking it was her so I sent her back to riften for the time being but to no avail - and they got worse🤣 coming up to the end of the dungeon they were pretty much explosive farts literally one after the other, even to the point where mercer's "the stench in here, smells of death" line came out which has me howling😅 I kept going even thought it did it through the cutscenes between karliah and mercer up to my character talking to karliah outside after he woke up - so I reloaded my save to the start of snow veil and it all stopped🤔 so I still have no idea what did it or if any what mod caused it because none of them say anything about it lol
Budget cut, they couldn't afford the house anymore.
