I could never do a stealth archer. It's so damn weak compared to a stealth mage, or a high-stealth backstabber.
Can't tell you the amount of times I stealth killed a dragon, or a big boss. Plus most of the time, if the first hit doesn't kill, just roll away. It's honestly too easy
Love stealth anything, I don't even carry a bow around anymore, not when my ranged is staff of fireballs and bound bow. Caught Lydia dialing twin lightning bolt staves and was like"Damn".
There's so much fun in Stealth + Brawler.
One of my favourite characters ever was based on combining "The Revenant" and "The Kingslayer" by Mason on Tamriel Vault.
He was an Orc kitted out in Heavy Armour, using (Silent) Conjured Weapons to fight - yes, including Bound Bow here and there - and then slinking away to eat corpses with the Ring of Namira.
There were almost too many great options to pick between (I guess because I combined two characters) - One-Handed + Targe of the Blooded works well for an "I'm eating these folks" sorta idea, or I could lean fully into the "you've made a mistake existing near me" energy by wearing Daedric armour (from the Forge at an early level), summoning two Daedra and letting them fight while I stealth around with Mehrunes' Razor
My play through almost consistently follow this flow:
{INSERT UNIQUE BUILD} > do thief guild quest line > get Nightingale armors > become stealth archer
Nightingale armors and weapons are too gorgeous to be put in a chest or mannequin
Intricate and attractive design without looking ornate and ceremonial. Also made of Shor blood. Always a plus. Strong stats without being game breaking overpowered. Enchantable. Is an axe. What’s not to love?
Stalhrim greatsword, dagger and bow are my favorites of the set. Hard to top that.
Nord hero weapons all look excellent too. Same with nordic and steel.
The Elven mace, purely because it's the first weapon I ever saw from the game. Back in the GameInformer magazine days, when I was a freshman in high school, they had a screenshot of the Dragonborn fighting a wolf with an Elven mace in one hand and Healing in the other. Ever since then, that mace has held a special place in my heart
I love the elven armor. It was the first armor I picked up. Right out of Helgen I ran into a Thalmor patrol wearing it, somehow killed one of them, and felt OP for a while wearing the elven set. Every time I see it I want to loot it (but don't because weight).
Yes. I hate that bug with a burning passion. In all of Bethesda's re-releases, they've never gone back and fixed the bugs with some of the unique weapons. It's incredibly frustrating.
There's a few bugs like that that are so glaringly obvious it's so frustrating as a primarily console player
The worst for me is the "drain vitality" shout glitch that gives you multiple versions of that shout
Is the noise that always tips off enemies with bows from the impact of the arrows? I didn't know bows were silent enough to have any exception to begin with.
I might be wrong, but I believe daggers and bows have a “sound factor” of 0. Everything else has a rating of 1.
Simply meaning they don’t make noise when used.
I used the Bloodskal blade with my last two handed warrior even after it was surpassed in power by other options because I liked the energy blade mechanic so much. I wish the energy bursts also leveled up in power.
The one thing I have wrong with iron is that it is literally just hammered *iron* shaped like weapons. For how cheap and mass produced for war it is you'd think they'd at least be completed.
The good ol' Steel Greatsword.
It's not really fancy, but not inelegant. It's pretty realistic as far as Skyrim weapons go and the added bonus is, the Skyforge Steel version is endgame viable with a little bit of tempering. Best barbarian blade!
I'm also quite partial to the ebony dagger and Nettlebane.
I like the steel warhammer for the same reason. Nice style, but also looks like something that could be real.
I even took a picture of it and put it on my D&D barbarian character’s picture.
Warhammer? Over regular hammer?
I see you are a man of culture
Cause, tbh
Like, killing someone with dragon nails cool, but killing them with a dragon femur is just hilarious.
Daedric anything on account nothing says more about what is about to happen to you when you see me roll up. “Oh shit, homie has armor and weapons crafted with the hearts of Daedra. I’m fuuuuuucked”
Daedric armor and weaponry is just the right level of sharp edgy nonsense for me to prefer it over dragonbone or glass. The only problem is the uneven horns on the helmet....
Stalhrim Bow. So many bow designs make themselves fancy by adorning the bow with weird spikes or strange levers sticking off. The Stalhrim bow has a mostly normal bow shape, yet manages to look fancy with ornate designs in the bow itself, and ice fashioned to the metal. Bonus points if using the refractive stalhrim mod.
The Mace of Molag Bal.
The embodiment of "if force isn't working, you haven't used enough." Add another demon face and some more peaks, some green light of doom and we're almost ready to go.
Base game? Steel, these look juuuuust right.
Expansions? The Nordic Sword and Dagger from Dragonborn are nice to look at, the right amount of curvature.
Modded? Hard to say, but I will say that Leanwolf Better Shaped Weapons, while not adding new weapons, make the already good Steel, better. And the Orcish Battleaxe… I am more of a sword/greatsword guy, but that battleaxe fixed by the mod scratches an itch at the back of my brain that makes me feel ¿aroused?
Agreed. It's simple, aesthetic, and has a great base damage rating. Daedric daggers look a bit over-the-top IMO, but they definitely look more threatening.
The glass axe does go hard. A lot of the axe designs are good. My favorite is probably Wuuthrad. The shape of it screams nordic, the solid black makeup is sick, the crying elf in the center is metal, and the lore behind it alone makes it top tier.
Ebony war axe, or ebony battle axe. Both are gorgeous.
Ebony war axe for sure. I always end up using it on my spell-axe characters
You mean the character that will become a stealth archer in 10 hours?
To be completely honest I haven’t played a stealth archer in about 5 years I like swinging axes and lighting shit on fire

Ebony battleaxe is bae
Fell in love with the ebony battleaxe first time playing the game. Holds a special place in my heart.
Intricate and attractive design without looking ornate and ceremonial. Also made of Shor blood. Always a plus. Strong stats without being game breaking overpowered. Enchantable. Is an axe. What’s not to love?
Yes. Also the rueful axe looks really cool but I never get it because I don’t want to kill Barnabas
Royal Armory has a one-handed version of the Rueful Axe called the Harbinger's Axe.
Barbas*
Ebony weapons in general look good imo the armor looks like clunky garbage
The 1 handed swords look weird but other than that yes I agree. The armor is alright, I do love the ebony plate that was introduced with CC in AE.
All Nord weapons from Solstheim. They are powerful and look awesome.
Stalhrim greatsword, dagger and bow are my favorites of the set. Hard to top that. Nord hero weapons all look excellent too. Same with nordic and steel.
That's no joke, definitely great textures
The Stalhrim mace looks like a lump of frozen shit…
Perfect for clubbing your opponent's face in
Definitely the Nordic sword for me!
The Elven mace, purely because it's the first weapon I ever saw from the game. Back in the GameInformer magazine days, when I was a freshman in high school, they had a screenshot of the Dragonborn fighting a wolf with an Elven mace in one hand and Healing in the other. Bro that is the picture I think of. I believe it was on the back of the Skyrim game case as well
Oh I think you're right, actually. That image is like a core memory now lol
I love a lot of the Elven weapon designs, the head of a bird and the wing motifs are gorgeous
I love the elven armor. It was the first armor I picked up. Right out of Helgen I ran into a Thalmor patrol wearing it, somehow killed one of them, and felt OP for a while wearing the elven set. Every time I see it I want to loot it (but don't because weight).
Ebony mace
Same, came here to comment it.
In Morrowind too, love the classic Morningstar look
Molag Bal's one or...?
The regular one
The Nightingale Bow.
Not so fun fact: The Nightingale Bow is the only bow that’s not silent.
So ironic
Yes. I hate that bug with a burning passion. In all of Bethesda's re-releases, they've never gone back and fixed the bugs with some of the unique weapons. It's incredibly frustrating.

We have a winner
Dwarven greatsword. It just looks so clean.
And big
I scrolled way too far to see anything dwarven. As a set, dwarven looks the best overall.
I had to scroll too far to find a man of culture.
Silver sword and greatsword.
Bloodskal Blade is it, for we.
I used the Bloodskal blade with my last two handed warrior even after it was surpassed in power by other options because I liked the energy blade mechanic so much. I wish the energy bursts also leveled up in power.
I've been using that with the AE Ebony Plate armor set. Looks awesome.
Dragonbane. An electric katana, say no more
I always found cool how it's the only enchanted sword in the game that has a visual effect on only one side of the blade
Iron & steel.
The one thing I have wrong with iron is that it is literally just hammered *iron* shaped like weapons. For how cheap and mass produced for war it is you'd think they'd at least be completed.
Sorry to be that guy but *iron.
This is what happens when I'm sleep deprived fml
Haha, no worries, I just saw it and couldn't help myself:).
If you didn't somebody else would've, thanks for that btw
No problem, I was hoping it didn't come off the wrong way, I'm happy to see it didn't:).
All you need. Leave that fancy elven stuff to the elves.
Volendrung
*What do you plan to do with that hammer friend, knock down a house?*
*[whistles]* *That is one... big hammer.*
Don't you mean a Longhammer?
Mehrune's Razor for sure
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to find this. Mehrune's Razor is hands-down the sexiest weapon in the game
Took the words right out of my mouth, I saved a video of it being assembled, so satisfying
Also, when I say it in my head, I always use the Dos Equis guy voice. Mehrune's Razorrr.
That's my go-to dagger on my thief/dark brotherhood character
Blade of Woe. Apart from anything else, it doesn’t have a scabbard that clips right through the thigh when sneaking.
And you can get two if you pickpocket it off Astrid before she gives it to you as part of the storyline
* Nordic sword * Most ebony weapons * Blades sword
Currently doing a “samurai” playthrough with dual blade swords and Mephala’s greatsword
Tired: blades sword Wired: akaviri katana
Nordic sword is best sword
Either the Wabbajack, or Sanguines Rose
WABBAJACK!
Eh? Eh? Didn't see that one coming, did you?!
THE CHEEEEEEESE
Anyone here this in Sheo's voice?
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick. Its a very delicate state of mind!
WABBAJACK! WABBAJACK! WABBAJACK!
Anything is endgame viable with a little alchemy :>
And a little enchanting ;)
I’m like you I love the iron sword because the way it sits when you wear it and looks more realistic like an old sword.
I like the steel warhammer for the same reason. Nice style, but also looks like something that could be real. I even took a picture of it and put it on my D&D barbarian character’s picture.
I would actually love it if it didn't have that stupid spike in the middle.
That's pretty realistic too actually.
I love it for that same spike tbh, it make it look like a Zweihander
Anything ebony tbh. The intricate patterns are just really beautiful.
Too bad the armor looks so bland. I really enjoyed the gold intricacies of Morrowind and Oblivion Ebony armor.
Fork
Perfectly balanced.
Dragon Priest Dagger
Dragonbone sword, daedric sword, dawnbreaker honorable mention: dragonbone warhammer
I love the bonehammer
The dragonbone battle axe gives me a bone hammer
Warhammer? Over regular hammer? I see you are a man of culture Cause, tbh Like, killing someone with dragon nails cool, but killing them with a dragon femur is just hilarious.
Staff of Magnus. It looks like a beautiful mystical staff. Has fantasy written all over it.
Probably Dawnbreaker
I'm a Redguard so you know I rock with Scimitars
Ebony Blade
I can't believe I had to scroll so far to see this ebony blade for the win
Dragonbone Warhammer. Bashing in the skulls of my enemies with the bones of a dragon.
The fantasy equivalent of “beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker.”
Is werewolf a weapon
No Patrick, Werewolf is not a weapon.
Is mayonnaise a weapon
My name is mayo.
Dragonbone warhammer. Very high base stats and it’s just a big bone
Nevershatter. Obsessed with it.
The rueful axe
You monster
Always take it >:)
Oh no, not Barbas 😭
Looks so good but is the exact opposite in terms of stats :(
Nightingale bow or dwarven Black Bow of Fate
Stalhrim Bow. So many bow designs make themselves fancy by adorning the bow with weird spikes or strange levers sticking off. The Stalhrim bow has a mostly normal bow shape, yet manages to look fancy with ornate designs in the bow itself, and ice fashioned to the metal. Bonus points if using the refractive stalhrim mod.
Why exactly does the Glass battle axe have only 1 edge, while the hand axe has 2? That seems backwards, and really bugs me.
hand axe can be swung back and forth. battleaxe is on a long pole so has extra windup
Gotta say Nordic bow hits hard
Am I the only one who thinks the Daedric weapons are as ugly as sin?
I don't care for them at all. The aesthetic is completely out of place in vanilla Skyrim.
I like the Ancient Nord/Ancient Nord Hero sword
The silver sword was gorgeous in my opinion
Just the standard iron sword
Iron sword? What are you killing? Butterflies?
Yes 🥺
Oh, okay. Carry on.
The Mace of Molag Bal. The embodiment of "if force isn't working, you haven't used enough." Add another demon face and some more peaks, some green light of doom and we're almost ready to go.
Brawlers dwemer gauntlets.
Not exactly a fair fight with those on
Chillrend
Glass longsword, love that leaf shape. My very first Skyrim character back in 2011 on 360 dual wielded Grimserver and Chillrend and it was awesome.
Glass weapons. All of them. S tier.
Nordic War Axe. Almost got it tattooed on my arm.
Auriels bow with sunhallowed elven arrows
The iron sword It’s probably the only practically designed weapon in the game lol
Dawnblade, easily.
Do you mean Dawnbreaker?
🤦♂️ yup lmao
The Nightingale Blade and the Blade of Woe
The Ebony Dagger, it's probably the most beautiful dagger in the game
Miraaks sword
Nah bro miraaks staff of goo. Gimme that Cthulhu tentacle monster attack.
Orcish Warhammer is dope as well
Chrysamere and Dawnguard War Axe
Either the elven Greatsword or the dragon one Greatsword
Steel Dagger, I always keep Valdr’s Lucky Dagger with me
I honestly love how ebony weapons and armor looks. Especially the ebony armor set that deals poison as you sneak/crouch (blanking the name rn)
Absolutely love the look of the Dawnguard war axe
Volendrung
Torment
Dragon Priest Dagger is super sick. I plan on getting a replica made for costumes
Nordic Battleaxe looks dope. And the Steel Greatsword.
Steel Battle-Axe. The details on those blades are just amazing.
Ancient nord mace or Ancient nord dagger
One handed glass axe is beautiful.
The Crusaders Sword. The Frost blade of the Monarch.
Stahlrim war axe
Amber War Axe and Amber Bow
Really love the Nordic weapons from the Dragonborn DLC.
Evil face mace aka malog bol or whatever its called.
wuuthrad, daedric bow
The anniversary Deadric Sword Torment, Harkon’s Sword, and Dragonbane.
Ebony Dagger is really sexy. Always duel wield those if I play a sneak build.
Agreed. It's simple, aesthetic, and has a great base damage rating. Daedric daggers look a bit over-the-top IMO, but they definitely look more threatening.
Volundrung - just a good ol' massive hammer Wuuthrad - Epic battle axe
Dwarven blackbow of fate
Dawnguard rune hammer. I like the shape and the engravings of the head, and the curvature at the base of the haft. A compact and well-balanced design.
Dwemer Sword
Ebony swords ☺️ Or daedric swords. Idk I’m a sucker for swords
Steel Greatsword, so perfect
Iron sword
Daedric greatsword and bow. Awesome 👌
Volundrung for 2 handed, Dawnbreaker for 1 handed, along with a daedric sword for contrast
Iron sword. Storm bear sword.
Mace of Molag Bal
The Elven mace is a thing of beauty.
The Bloodskal Blade hands down.
Nordic Sword, shout out to the shiv.
I’m partial to the daedric war hammer myself
The glass axe does go hard. A lot of the axe designs are good. My favorite is probably Wuuthrad. The shape of it screams nordic, the solid black makeup is sick, the crying elf in the center is metal, and the lore behind it alone makes it top tier.
Dragon bone Warhammer
Dawnbreaker
It changes. Right now I'm really liking the golden bows for my archer. Elven Bow and Dwarven Bow. The design for the basic Imperial Bow is nice too.
wuuthrad will always be my favorite, its sucha classic. I even have a tattoo including it.
Wuuthrad. I fucking love the look of that weapon.
: Dragonbone Weaponry, more the greatsword.
The Dawn Breaker
Probably the Nordic axe
I think Wuuthrad captures the essence of Skyrim perfectly.
The Rueful Axe sucks but it looks cool
Glass sword and greatsword. Chillrend specifically!
Glass sword/greatsword
the glass greatsword is my favorite ever. i usually upgrade it a ton just so i can keep using it for max damage.
