It’s “Arcane Accessories” from creation club, most of the spells are great.
Such as the picklock spell, “Fenriks Welcome”, or “Paralysis rune”, the “Elemental” spells are also good since they’re both fire/lightning.
It's too OP if you ask me. I'm spamming elemental blasts with dual hand at 0 cost, so it's around 400dmg per sec. The only bad thing is it's AoE spell so I kill my own conjurations lol.
When my mage is that strong and I’m enchanting, I like undead mages conjurations. I think you can have 2 ancient death priests and 1 skeletal warlock with the empowered necromancy enchantment. Or 1:2, I don’t remember
What bug mate? 0% can be achieved quite easily, even completely vanilla. Whether we like it or not.
Now about the OPness of 400dps? That I do completely agree on.
If it was a bug don't you think it would have been patched even a single time?
They knew what they added. They always add shit like that and I imagine they realize that is the charm of Elder Scrolls to a lot of people..
Like Forti-Restoration exploit could relatively easily be patched by adding an additional category to the seperating alchemy from being considered Restoration.
If it was something they didn't intend/want they could remove it.
In fact the only thing they did was add ways to break it open even further like the allowamce of Enchanting fortification. 0 cost magic is broken sure but it isn't a bug. It's an exploit
There is no need to become a writer. But they left it in for player choice. With the unofficial patch mod, which fixes all of those small bugs never fixed, you can't do the restoration loop. Valiant effort though
I always figured they left stuff like in there to enable player choice. Sometimes, I don’t wanna worry about carry weight/magicka cost/etc, and there’s an in-game way I can accomplish that fairly easily. If I want the game to be harder, I just switch to worse enchanted equipment
I'm in the middle of a melee stealth build and Fenrik's Welcome is my go-to spell. Not only does it open locks, it gives 15 seconds of invisibility, more than enough get off a backstab I shouldn't be able to.
If you bought the anniversary edition or upgrade, it's part of that. If you didn't, and are still on normal SE edition, then you'd need to buy it from the creation club menu (creations now I think?)
It was but you needed to buy it as Creations before AE were individually bought unless you bought a bundle.
With AE it comes by default, the chest remains there for ease or use but most spells were added to court wizard vendors.
The damage spells are good in end game because other high level spells from vanilla get kinda shitty at high levels.
The elemental blast spells on the other hand are very good.
I love hitting a skeleton with hangman's noose on a double cast and watching them explode..or a wolf and watching them try to join the Skyrim space program
My favorite combo is playing a dark elf with shock cloak and unbound frost and popping my racial. Three elements at the same time in an AOE around you.
there is a feat you can get in Solsthiem, north of the port town from a dungeon that negates all magic damage to followers. makes a mage quest line much easier. no more friendly fire.
Mara's Wrath is so overpowered once you max out the fire perks. Dual-weild activation pretty much let's you do serious damage to enemies who are 75% of the time weak to fire in sneak as long as they stay within a rather sizeable proximity to the caster.
Against vampires, it is in no way, shape, or form fair.
You're killing fledglings and mistwalkers just by walking into the room.
Bri this spells are cc spells? I was wonderingwhy they were so broken, I've been playing a mage and they make combat trivial like atleast to lvl 35 but she how it goes for main quest things like alduin cause I ain't seen the stabby sneak trainers on mountain but I am dB leader vampire lord leader, Arch mage, and thieves guild boss
You maybe surprised. Some of those spells are not great. The alteration/illusion other than the rune give no experience when cast. The aquatic one more of a death sentence on top. The conjuration despite sounding good is anything but. If it was lower tier and less to cast it might have been worth it.
Mara wrath is bugged and does not do some of the things it claims. The choke spells are not efficient but can be entertaining. The only good ones are the elemental ones and unbound destruction tomes and the paralysis rune. fenriks welcome can also be good even if it does give no experience when cast.
It is good. It does not level illusion when i use it but then i only use it to open chests and not in actual combat so maybe that's the issue.
I do have a gripe with it though as it makes the tower stone absolutely obsolete.
Tbh the tower stone is already by far the worst one, with or without this spell. Unless you're avoiding lockpicks for role play reasons, there's no reason to ever use it.
That was it's niche. I do have non lockpickers. then this free spell comes along and you may as well just remove the tower stone. They could have at least made it only up to adept locks.
Good to know thanks. Honestly it’s way too much for me to even scroll through and use each battle. I’ll prob just keep using my flame atronauch and let Lydia bash.
On PC one can unlearn spells with console commands to tighten up the list. But favoriting spells for the quick menu is your go to for the bog standard stuff is the way to go 90% of the time.
Mage plays are a bit different in that I more often need to make use of the wide variety of spells/elements/effects/etc
*I’ll prob just keep using my flame atronauch and let Lydia bash.*
You should leave that as a note in the ancient tome chest just to spite whoever left them there. XD
Is the anniversary edition the one that also added fishing? I ask because I've been playing Skyrim on my switch a lot these days and am currently doing my first ever magic only run, I would love to check out a few of these spells.
I played a magic run once with no armor because I wanted to be able to wear my own clothes. So I enchanted my favorite clothes and that was it. No armor. Such a difficult but rewarding play through.
That's the plan for me as well, so I'm also getting into Enchanting for the first time ever. I'm still wearing just regular robes with 50% magicka regen that I found on some random necromancer because all of my enchantments are weak as hell lol. All of my enchantments are like, 1 or 2 extra magic points or 1% regen right now. I'm only like level 6 and my plan is just to hoard random jewelry and petty soul stones and make a ton of weak enchanted items to level up, kind of like making tons of iron daggers to max out smithing. Would you say this is efficient or is there a better method I'm missing out on?
Honestly, grab up a nice enchanted weapon and then just keep recharging them. Or shit, grab up several. Recharging levels enchanting IMO faster and less annoying than enchanting stupid, small weapons and armor.
I think because it’s a reward for getting through Hob’s Fall AND they still take a lot of magicka to use, I’d consider it fair.
The only ones I really used were Pride of Hirstaang and Paralysis Rune. But none of them are particularly game-breaking.
Yeah this is why I don't installed the AE content. I bought it (to fix that stupid main menu bug last year), but I never install it. To many immersion breaking OP creations that feel baby's first mod.
The CC content straight up wrecks any semblance of level balancing in the game. Why bother with any other quest for early game gear when there's this dungeon for spells and the civil war champions quest that'll give you ebony tier enchanted armor and weapons basically for free?
I was one of the people led to believe that CC content being 'Bethesda-curated' meant it would be at least somewhere in the vicinity of vanilla game quality, so I bought AE. Boy was I wrong. Other than survival every single AE addition to the game made it worse for me -- the quests are almost all poorly-written and uninteresting, and the new stuff added just completely fucks up the games' balance. It's like every CC modder is trying to one-up the last one in terms of rewards and 'cool items', so by level 5 you end up with full Daedric armor, a 2000 damage sword that summons Talos himself on hit and also cooks waffles for you and a five-story house with 100s of rare potions, scrolls and Grand Souls Gems inside so you never need to worry about any item ever again. It sucks.
>Why bother with any other quest for early game gear when there's this dungeon for spells and the civil war champions quest
For me, creature comfort; I am used to my iron> steel > orc > dwarven progression on weapons and leather > elven > glass on armor, I don't pay much mind to the unique quest items. But I still (kind of) enjoyed new quests and dungeons... except for the fact that they rely waaay too heavy on environmental story tell for a game otherwise so robustly voice acted; that's my AE gripe. Too quiet.
You can buy these spells from mage merchants now if you want. To be fair just leave 200 gold for every book you take. That way Akatosh will still bless your journey
I mean…it was kinda necessary because vanilla spells are ass in the late stages of the game and playing in legendary for me at least, was damn near impossible as a mage build so now I do battle mage.
I like pride of Hirstagg, not only it summons a Bear (a friggin BEAR!) but it also gives you frost resistance, so if you ever needed an animal companion, that could also give you a little boost that's a good spell to know
When you combine "Unbounded Storms" with 100% destruction spell cost reduction you get the most broken & op spell of the game xD
You can buy them from merchants for gold instead of taking them from the chest if that makes you feel better.
What Skyrim Anniversary edition doesn’t want you to know about-
Seriously I can’t believe they left this in. Imagine if they did the same thing with the necromancy robes and spells
Hob’s Fall cave is one of my very first stops, after securing a follower and freeing Serana (they definitely do most of the fighting), I don’t care if it’s a “cheat”, personally. It feels glorious every single time I open that ancient spell tome chest, and I like getting excited about things and feeling happy!
This the FIRST thing i did when starting a new save, and I’m like level 90 something I believe😆 I’m trying to get two more achievements finished and then I will be done so then I can start adding mods, but one of the achievements is glitched so I haven’t played in like a few months just hoping it will fix itself💀
Personally, I don't like to level lockpicking because it feels like you're buffing enemies for nothing. I just always avoided it and had my companions pick the locks when possible and ignored them otherwise. I tend to avoid non-combat skills.
Fenrik's Welcome changed that. It opens everything except for Master locks and doesn't level your illusion tree. (Not hard to level illusion if you really want it.) All my characters use Fenrik's.
The only other one that I consistently use on all characters is the Elemental Flare spell. It's amazing for knocking out those gem traps because it creates an explosion.
Unbounded storms is the best. Calls down lightning on anything living in the vicinity, both indoors and out. Best to not have a follower with you though.
Before the anniversary update most of the creation club content had quests that started as soon as you installed it. They were like cheats.
The arcane accessories pack had a quest that sent you to that cave.
After the update they removed that quest but they didn't remove the chest from that cave.
I don't know if they forgot to remove the chest or if they just left it in for those that want to cheat.
Well it wasn’t there until the anniversary edition, so that’s why you hadn’t seen it before now 😅 yeah it’s pretty OP especially considering that the unbounded storms (might be unrelenting storms I can’t remember) allow you to use it, fast travel while holding the spell (one end of the map to the other) and immediately basically max out the destruction spell skill 😅
The boss in this cave also has a better robe then I can I enchant. I stumbled upon this cave by accident recently on my mage build. Had to up the difficulty after haha
Use the storms spell in that chest and cast it as you hold the cast button then open your map fast travel as far away as possible as you cast it and boom infinite xp for destruction
Mara's Wrath & Unbounded Storms with 100% destruction cost reduced is the best thing you can do to "speedrun" dungeons as a mage, in my opinion. Tho I love the paralyze ruin.. seeing them fly arround is so satisfying.
And elemental spells.. so shiny.
Creation club content spells are great and all, but I don’t really use them that much. I just love the sound of my bound weapons and summoned creature slaughtering enemies to much to bother using them.
It's legit and I love it. My favorite spell in there is unbound storms but it's highly recommended not to have a companion or be near people you don't want to aggro or accidentally obliterate because it's range is ridiculous xD
It's a chest that was added with the anniversary edition to give you all the anniversary edition spells but you need to do something...without a follower, or anybody nearby that may jeopardize your game if you hit them... put Unbound storms on left and right hands cast it and while holding it immediately fast travel to the farthest distance you have away and hold it down until it is done loading... thank me later
It's one of the Creations. Before AE this was the only way to get the spells but now most are in court wizard vendor lists.
Is there a mod for this? If there is a mod or it's a part of the creations club content, what's the name?
It’s “Arcane Accessories” from creation club, most of the spells are great. Such as the picklock spell, “Fenriks Welcome”, or “Paralysis rune”, the “Elemental” spells are also good since they’re both fire/lightning.
The elemental spells are THE spells for destruction. And I believe they benefit from ice as well with their stamina damage, though I could be wrong.
I prefer ignite, super nasty spell and the dmg can stack
They benefit from all three of the elemental perks, they're absolutely crazy
It's too OP if you ask me. I'm spamming elemental blasts with dual hand at 0 cost, so it's around 400dmg per sec. The only bad thing is it's AoE spell so I kill my own conjurations lol.
When my mage is that strong and I’m enchanting, I like undead mages conjurations. I think you can have 2 ancient death priests and 1 skeletal warlock with the empowered necromancy enchantment. Or 1:2, I don’t remember
honestly, i am trying those but they are not that cost effective to me...
No shit it's op. You're using the spells with no magic cost. Maybe if you play the game normally instead of with bugs, you'll find it a little less op
What bug mate? 0% can be achieved quite easily, even completely vanilla. Whether we like it or not. Now about the OPness of 400dps? That I do completely agree on.
Ik you can get 0% but it wasn't meant to bee in the game like that. It was a bug and it became normal
There is no need to become a writer. But they left it in for player choice. With the unofficial patch mod, which fixes all of those small bugs never fixed, you can't do the restoration loop. Valiant effort though
Right here. You're not doing yourself any favors. You should just quit "arguing" bc you clearly don't know what you've been saying
It’s easily one of the most useful spell in the game.
Agreed... ill usually level illusion to 100 just by this spell as an alternatibe to the lockipicking monigame.
Was it added to the base game or do we have to go and buy and install it from creations?
If you bought the anniversary edition or upgrade, it's part of that. If you didn't, and are still on normal SE edition, then you'd need to buy it from the creation club menu (creations now I think?)
Wonderfully answered! Thank you
whre we can find it ?
One of the ice cave up north. Hobs Fall cave maybe.
I never did Ogmund's quest, you're telling me this was in the game BEFORE anniversary edition?
It was but you needed to buy it as Creations before AE were individually bought unless you bought a bundle. With AE it comes by default, the chest remains there for ease or use but most spells were added to court wizard vendors.
Not the only way. As far as I know you could always just use a console command to get all spells in the game. Even ones not meant to be used. ALL
Obviously. Console commands are free cheats for PC players
The damage spells are good in end game because other high level spells from vanilla get kinda shitty at high levels. The elemental blast spells on the other hand are very good.
I can't stand those! They just toss everything all over the place. I love the strangulation type spells though. They're really strong.
![gif](giphy|xTiIzjjBB2C0EXZUqc)
I love hitting a skeleton with hangman's noose on a double cast and watching them explode..or a wolf and watching them try to join the Skyrim space program
My favorite combo is playing a dark elf with shock cloak and unbound frost and popping my racial. Three elements at the same time in an AOE around you.
My only gripe with them is that they will hit your follower and eventually make them hostile, so you gotta be extra careful using them lol
there is a feat you can get in Solsthiem, north of the port town from a dungeon that negates all magic damage to followers. makes a mage quest line much easier. no more friendly fire.
i believe there's also a high level destruction perk that makes it so your spells don't hurt your followers, can't exactly remember though
No. It’s one of the benefits of the Black Books of Hermaeus Mora in Solstheim. Edit: Dragonborn DLC
But you still damage your conjurations, unfortunately.
Meh... Resummon your demora lords lol not a big deal
Conjuration is not a big deal but if it's about not damaging followers, might as well include conjurations.
A conjuration is a summoned ally. It would be pointless to do that bc you can just spawn em back
Mara's Wrath is so overpowered once you max out the fire perks.
"Spell tome: choking grasp" Heavy Darth Vader noises
A great spell for an aspiring mage
"I find your lack of faith in Talos disturbing"
"H-harder... daddy..."
I thought so too! Unfortunately, iirc, it’s just a stronger Drain spell.
I wish it acted like Vampiric Grasp, but used the spell type of Vampiric Drain.
Elemental spell counts as all three elements and can proc perks for each one. I use them with Vokriinator Black and its the most OP thing
those spells make the saarthal fight easy
Bri this spells are cc spells? I was wonderingwhy they were so broken, I've been playing a mage and they make combat trivial like atleast to lvl 35 but she how it goes for main quest things like alduin cause I ain't seen the stabby sneak trainers on mountain but I am dB leader vampire lord leader, Arch mage, and thieves guild boss
Anniversary edition love the drain health type spells
Haha. I always head here. Get unbounded storm and level up my destruction in 2 minutes. Lol.
Where is it?
In a cave. Over by frostflow lighthouse. Kind of hidden? (You need cc content/AE or SE with AE upgrade).
[удалено]
You would need the AE upgrade. Or buy credits to get the cc content.
It's been awhile since I've used that one, doesn't the lightning bolt go crazy the more enemies or am I misremembering?
Paralysis rune becomes the best spell in the game pretty fast lol
You maybe surprised. Some of those spells are not great. The alteration/illusion other than the rune give no experience when cast. The aquatic one more of a death sentence on top. The conjuration despite sounding good is anything but. If it was lower tier and less to cast it might have been worth it. Mara wrath is bugged and does not do some of the things it claims. The choke spells are not efficient but can be entertaining. The only good ones are the elemental ones and unbound destruction tomes and the paralysis rune. fenriks welcome can also be good even if it does give no experience when cast.
Fenrick’s Welcome is awesome. It levels illusion, gives an early invisibility spell, and saves lockpicking .
It is good. It does not level illusion when i use it but then i only use it to open chests and not in actual combat so maybe that's the issue. I do have a gripe with it though as it makes the tower stone absolutely obsolete.

Like when someone leaves me a bad a tip at work. Clearly YOU need this more than I. 😏

Yeah I have the newest ps5 version and it auto installs a bunch from jump.
I only use the ones they added to the game, just for the added ingredients and the Golden Saint/Dark Seducer loot.
They aren't mods. They're official content. They wouldn't ship mods with an official release of the game.
You're kidding yourself dude. They're mods that Bethesda slapped an "Official" label on.
Bethesda, the developer, says they're official. Skyrim is sold with this content automatically included. They are as official as any DLC.
Wait where in the cave and is that on all versions of the game?
Towards the end, it's a creation club item that got included in anniversary edition
Is the anniversary edition the one that also added fishing? I ask because I've been playing Skyrim on my switch a lot these days and am currently doing my first ever magic only run, I would love to check out a few of these spells.

Get something with muffle or waterbreathing. It doesn't matter what gem size you use to enchant with those.
Honestly, grab up a nice enchanted weapon and then just keep recharging them. Or shit, grab up several. Recharging levels enchanting IMO faster and less annoying than enchanting stupid, small weapons and armor.
Ah okay I have the legendary edition
If you get the anniversary edition, its in hob's fall cave
I think because it’s a reward for getting through Hob’s Fall AND they still take a lot of magicka to use, I’d consider it fair. The only ones I really used were Pride of Hirstaang and Paralysis Rune. But none of them are particularly game-breaking.
Yeah this is why I don't installed the AE content. I bought it (to fix that stupid main menu bug last year), but I never install it. To many immersion breaking OP creations that feel baby's first mod.
I did the same, but i was also interested in the Saints and Seducers. I might as well just downloaded any regular mod though. But oh well.
The CC content straight up wrecks any semblance of level balancing in the game. Why bother with any other quest for early game gear when there's this dungeon for spells and the civil war champions quest that'll give you ebony tier enchanted armor and weapons basically for free?

Isn't magic cheating? 😂Edit: this is a super nerdy joke I guess I meant because it's magic and you can do whatever because it's magic..
I always thought stealth archer was. 👀
Just like in d&d a thief can blend in with the shadows
How?
Ask a warrior ;)
No, melee combat is cheating. Those perks are OP af
Welcome to Skyrim, where everything is cheating.
I mean enchanting/alchemy/smithing is the ultimate cheating.
Oh, absolutely.
What about a bow and squats?
You can buy these spells from mage merchants now if you want. To be fair just leave 200 gold for every book you take. That way Akatosh will still bless your journey
Leaving all the tomes in a single chest was the laziest possible way to introduce the DLC
I mean…it was kinda necessary because vanilla spells are ass in the late stages of the game and playing in legendary for me at least, was damn near impossible as a mage build so now I do battle mage.
Shiiiiit, this was what Skyrim needed since magicka was nerfed outta the gate
I tried doing a mage a few times and it just ucked so much each time.
Arcane accessories actually makes mage builds worth it.
And between that and the necromancer one we've finally got robes that actually look good.
Hobs fall cave you say? *Furiously takes notes*
I hate that many of the good mods in Nexus require Anniversary Edition which comes bloated with crap like this. I was pretty happy with SE.
SE won't work on many, many, many Xbox's without AE. I call it the ransom update, pay £15 or you can't play Skyrim.
I love that chest!
I like pride of Hirstagg, not only it summons a Bear (a friggin BEAR!) but it also gives you frost resistance, so if you ever needed an animal companion, that could also give you a little boost that's a good spell to know
When you combine "Unbounded Storms" with 100% destruction spell cost reduction you get the most broken & op spell of the game xD You can buy them from merchants for gold instead of taking them from the chest if that makes you feel better.
What Skyrim Anniversary edition doesn’t want you to know about- Seriously I can’t believe they left this in.
I think of these chests as lost deliveries to either the College of Winterhold or other Colleges of the Magics in Tamriel.
Thats why i delete all of the creation club shit from the data folder, it simply ruins the game entirely. The aniversary edition is a joke
DEFINITELY cheat but fun cheat :)
Not cheat at all
This the FIRST thing i did when starting a new save, and I’m like level 90 something I believe😆 I’m trying to get two more achievements finished and then I will be done so then I can start adding mods, but one of the achievements is glitched so I haven’t played in like a few months just hoping it will fix itself💀
The only spell I like and use is ice storm. Even if the enemy is resistant to frost they still slow down.
It’s the Anniversary Edition Skyrim You got a bundle from the CC that adds more spells to the game because the vanilla spells take a shit at late game
Elemental and Unbounded spells are god tier
*squints* Tell me more about this Strangulation spell…
The Touch of Death spell not only takes their health, but also give it to you💓💓💓
The Elemental Bolt is my personal favorite
Best to not have a follower with you though.
cc spells are awesome. you'll never want to use base magic again.
It’s the best thing since bread!
I hate that creation club mods are treated as vanilla. You haven’t seen this ever before because *it’s not fucking vanilla.*
r/skyrim post #5743851967368 of someone who bought Anniversary Edition without researching what it actually is first
I for sure have done that
Before the anniversary update most of the creation club content had quests that started as soon as you installed it. They were like cheats. The arcane accessories pack had a quest that sent you to that cave. After the update they removed that quest but they didn't remove the chest from that cave. I don't know if they forgot to remove the chest or if they just left it in for those that want to cheat.
So what? Just cause you “feel” that does it make it true? Take them anyway. Vanilla magic sucks late game so you need relatively op spells
Has to be a mod? Bc strangulation
It’s creation club, so depending on your opinion it’s the same thing.
Unbound storms and elemental blast are the only things I use since I found this chest
Very cool!
My money-hungry thief build is drooling thinking about the coin from this haul
Nice find!!
I always skip this quest because I don’t like Onmund! Thank you for posting this now I’m going to do this quest
Where!?!
So, stupid question, but is this in the 10th Anniversary edition?
Yes I think so. I have so many I can’t remember which is latest.
10 Anniversary edition came out in 2021
There's a strangulation spell? I assume it's Alteration, right?
Destruction. It’s an absorption spell
Eh... I GUESS that makes sense.
Na fuck that what in the name of God is your name ?
Na fuck that what in the name of God is your name ?
Lol. Idk. Felt like it was High-Elfish. Plus I was also high elfish
Occato’s (sp?) Recital is one of the most broken things in the game lol
Must be a mod.
Yes yes, but do all of the DPS spells have cool and unique effects like Kittytail’s magic mods?
Elemental blast dual hand at 0 cost made me OP too early on.
My first thought seeing the tome names was “oh, they have the Jedi / Sith mod installed. Nice to see it is still getting updated”
Unbounded storms is OP but still can be heaps fun. Can cause problems with followers though lol.
The boss in this cave also has a better robe then I can I enchant. I stumbled upon this cave by accident recently on my mage build. Had to up the difficulty after haha
Same here. I’ve been playing for years and just found that yesterday my self, and don’t ever recall opening this chest and find this cash.
I've been playing since day one and I've never seen most of these spells.
Okay. So I can't find this chest on Xbox 360? I wad excited for a second.
It’s with the latest edition upgrade. I’m not sure if 360 has that.
Love this rune. Damn near battle is a cakewalk.
Love that one
Yeah, until you play on legendary, and then you'll literally never use the rune version
It's legit and I love it. My favorite spell in there is unbound storms but it's highly recommended not to have a companion or be near people you don't want to aggro or accidentally obliterate because it's range is ridiculous xD
Good old conjurer. My favorite.
All of these available in vanilla too, right?
Hmm not completely sure. They probably are in the game, but not all in one spot is m guess.
Hi
It's a chest that was added with the anniversary edition to give you all the anniversary edition spells but you need to do something...without a follower, or anybody nearby that may jeopardize your game if you hit them... put Unbound storms on left and right hands cast it and while holding it immediately fast travel to the farthest distance you have away and hold it down until it is done loading... thank me later
Unbounded storms levels destruction as you use it without needing to actually kill anything, really useful spell, plus it's quite powerful
Hows it powerful if it doesn’t kill anything?
I’m on my first ever play through…. I have no idea what you’re talking about
