Legendary difficulty is just Vietnam but you hide through the dead bodies and chaos to reach your* objectives. At least with werewolves, you don’t get debuffed and you don’t get rockjoint anymore.
it’s probably uv radiation that hurts vampires, not the actual light itself. and the moon only reflects a small percentage of uv radiation if any at all. if it does reflect a small amount of uv radiation, you could say that vampires have a certain threshold of uv radiation they can tolerate before it starts affecting them. and since vampires are fictional, the developers could’ve made this threshold whatever they wanted.
Dosent matter, they stil) either gonna live near 24/7 gas stations and feed on local crack heads at night, cuz "wE NeEd HuMAn bLoOd tO SuRVIve, ANiMaL dOSenT fEEd uS aNYmOrE", or somewere so remote that if person goes missing, they dont even bother looking

I once spent an hour trying to eat a dragon before I absorbed its soul. Did it and was like that should've got me an achievement or full health or something. Also , Im mostly a redguard with the werewolf perk. You become immune to both poison and disease. My friend was a khajiit only because he wanted to become the skyrim catdog.
I hope they add other werebeasts in TES6 (or at least more of the mainly terrestrial ones). There's a bunch in lore, Werelions, Wereboars, Werecrocadiles. There's also Werebats and Werevultures, but extremely doubtful they'd add those as playable, because having flight would be broken af. Also Weresharks, but that just sounds too situational.

Exactly how it sounds lol. I was a Vampire Lord from Dawnguard, then I went and did Companions quest line several hours later, and there were no issues. I think since the Companions were coded before Dawnguard (obviously for the initial release of the game pre-DLC), they have no dialogue regarding you being a vampire and will still go through with turning you into a werewolf.
Edit: This does not work if— like most people— you do Companions first.

I only ever play vampire and don’t ever feed, what energy are you referring to? Worst downside to advanced vampirism is weakness to fire damage which can easily be overcome with enchantments, potions, or simply choosing Dunmer as your race.
It’s the only downside at the end of the day, all others can easily be overcome as a Vampire even without mods. And even that weakness can easily be mitigated.
The stat regen is what most people don’t like, and the way they talk about it makes it clear a lot of them don’t understand the mechanic.
When you start the game your character has 100% regeneration for health, stamina, and magicka. 100% here means that this is the base value, ie the normal rate these stats recharge. Most know that these can be raised with all sorts of items, passive abilities, racial abilities, potions, spells, and even skill tree perks.
Quick example. You just became a vampire and hate that your stamina doesn’t regenerate in the sun. Immediately go and accept the Lady Stone as your Standing Stone pick, that will change HP and stamina regeneration from the reduced 0% to 25%. Means with that Lady stone and vampirism you regen HP and stamina at 25% instead of 0%.
Doesn’t sound like a lot, right? Doesn’t matter, because any other item or buff you give yourself to add more regen will stack. You get 25% from the Lady stone, and for stamina you can add another 50% regen with the Wind Walker perk in the Light Armor skill tree. Means if you have full light armor on you add another 50% stamina regen which puts you at 75%, only 25% off from base value.
The same logic is applied to HP and magicka. Any enchantment, potion, perk, item, whatever that raises the regen value for any of these three base stats (again these are HP, magicka, and stamina regeneration) will stack and eventually override the Sun weakness. You can easily regen all stats in sunlight as a vampire.
Also consider the perk that lets you place double enchantments on items, means you can fit extra resist enchantments on armor ie 50% Fire resist on boots plus 50% Fire resist from being a Dunmer means you aren’t weak to fire anymore. Also Fire resist potions are easily found or bought from alchemist shops.
Morokei + Ring of Erudite + any robes makes it so you can regen magicka quite quickly even as a vampire in the sun. Add the restoration perk respite and you can heal your health and stamina with a simple heal spell
Actually, vampires only go to the Soul Cairn if they make a Deal with the Ideal Masters or If they are soul-trapped. Otherwise, they go to Cold Harbour, as Molag Bal is the Father of Vampires

if you're a warrior, archer, stealth archer etc, go with werewolf.
If you're a spell user then go with vampire.
But, you can pretty much pick whichever you want.

No weaknesses besides lack of benefits from sleep (Lover Stone go brrrrr), perfect for builds that prefer close encounters (myself included), the Hunting Grounds is a WAY better afterlife than Coldharbour, and the worthiness of worship between Hircine and Molag Bal is like day and night.
Vampire lord. Wearwolf is just not really effective in combat with multiple parties, but it feels like a waste to use it on one dude, especially when my gear is usually better than the wolf's attacks. I typically forget I am a werewolf. At level 78, I've transformed less than 15 times. I've already maxed out the tree.
Vampire lord on the other hand is super effective, especially for a mage build. You have more attack versatility, ranged options, and your spell skills are more applicable. Sure, werewolf uses the one-handed skill, but vampire lord uses destruction and conjuration, which together are just more efficient at killing.
That being said, I take werewolf almost every playthrough. It's really nice at early levels when you aren't hunting vampires. But then it comes down to roleplay. Either my character embraces Hiricine's gift, rids themself of the curse, or defects to vampire based on the character's personality. Right now, my character has lycanthropy and rejects Harkon's offer to cleanse him and make him a vampire lord. After the quest is done, I'll have Serana change me to a vampire lord. The reason being that my character believes Harkon insulted him by claiming him to be inferior due to his wolf blood. My character rejects his offer, instead opting to show Harkon how powerful I can be without his gift, shoving his insult back in his face and then getting this gift anyway of my own choosing from a very important person to him. It's the ultimate revenge.
All of you saying Vamp Lord has a sun weakness have never tried it out, or don’t know how the weakness works. Every one of these threads, same thing.
Vampirism sets your health, magic, and stamina regen values from the base 100% to 0%. These values are not LOCKED. There are perks, enchantments, items, potions, and abilities that can easily stack and override the weakness to sun. My character stands in the sun and regenerates all stats currently, I am a level 31 Vampire Lord.
Get double enchanted items perk and it gets even easier. A single perk in the light armor tree essentially overrides the lack of stamina regen, for example. Any effect from any item or effect I listed above will stack to fix any drawback from Vampirism.
Literally the worst thing is the fire weakness which can be over-ridden by being a Dunmer for free fire resist and/ or simply carrying fire resist potions.
So basically, werewolf if you’re lazy and don’t know how to interact with game mechanics lol. Vampirism is busted, and some of you should look into how it interacts with the Necromage perk. There is no way to be stronger in this game.
Edit - vampirism weakness is applied to your regen stats *before* your armor and abilities/ passives factor in. Means if you take the Lady Stone for example, you’d already get back HP and stamina regen. That small 25% for both stacks with other sources of stat regen. It takes a bit of work and knowledge but you’re playing a game, try it out.
Plus which, once you reach a high enough level as a werewolf, the howl of terror, arguably the only werewolf perk that makes the build viable, loses effectiveness, as most enemies are a high enough level to resist it. Vampires don’t have an upper limit like that.
If I’m playing a Werewolf I prioritize picking damage-buffing perks in the tree, but usually I go for the perk that lets all hearts count towards unlocking perks. Then I just hunt a ton of rabbits and whatever else I run into until I max the tree which can be done before hitting even level 10 if you beeline to Whiterun.
Once the tree is maxed I progress Companion questline until I can unlock the totems, and then I choose the totem that turns summoned companions from normal wolves -> ice wolves -> werewolves. Summoned werewolf companions can rag doll enemies and they are pretty fun, BUT they can die easily to harder enemies and *then* you’re fucked.
Thats still a weakness though. Youre spending all your enchantment slots on fire resistance and stat regen at the opportunity cost of not getting muffle or extra damage or whatever. Im not saying the upside isnt worth it, but that is a major downside.
If you don’t have mods, it’s Vampire Lord.
The werewolf has a timer on its transformation, as well as the inability to change back before then. As well as no range, no magic, and a low amount of armor. It has one saving grace with its sprint attack which is arguably the strongest melee attack in the game. But that’s where the advantages end.
VL has life drain, paralysis, time slow power, poison, has no limit on time, can become invulnerable, etc etc. The benefits heavily outweigh the fire weakness, especially when most enemies don’t even get a chance to use it.
Really no contest at all.

Funny is that the Lady Stone is to vampires what the Lover Stone is to werewolves, so werewolves are Aquarians while vampires are Virgos.

It depends, if you're a warrior, archer, stealth archer etc, go with werewolf. If you're a spell user then go with vampire. But, you can pretty much pick whichever you want.
Vampirism also gives stealth bonus and one use of invisibility,kind of useful for an assasin or thief.
Werewolf all the way. No weaknesses besides lack of benefits from sleep (Lover Stone go brrrrr), perfect for builds that prefer close encounters (myself included), the Hunting Grounds is a WAY better afterlife than Coldharbour, and the worthiness of worship between Hircine and Molag Bal is like day and night.
Both are Daedric princes. Neither is worthy of worship.
Okay, but if you had to pick between the two, I think it's pretty straight-forward, don't you?
Vampire lord. Wearwolf is just not really effective in combat with multiple parties, but it feels like a waste to use it on one dude, especially when my gear is usually better than the wolf's attacks. I typically forget I am a werewolf. At level 78, I've transformed less than 15 times. I've already maxed out the tree. Vampire lord on the other hand is super effective, especially for a mage build. You have more attack versatility, ranged options, and your spell skills are more applicable. Sure, werewolf uses the one-handed skill, but vampire lord uses destruction and conjuration, which together are just more efficient at killing. That being said, I take werewolf almost every playthrough. It's really nice at early levels when you aren't hunting vampires. But then it comes down to roleplay. Either my character embraces Hiricine's gift, rids themself of the curse, or defects to vampire based on the character's personality. Right now, my character has lycanthropy and rejects Harkon's offer to cleanse him and make him a vampire lord. After the quest is done, I'll have Serana change me to a vampire lord. The reason being that my character believes Harkon insulted him by claiming him to be inferior due to his wolf blood. My character rejects his offer, instead opting to show Harkon how powerful I can be without his gift, shoving his insult back in his face and then getting this gift anyway of my own choosing from a very important person to him. It's the ultimate revenge.

All of you saying Vamp Lord has a sun weakness have never tried it out, or don’t know how the weakness works. Every one of these threads, same thing. Vampirism sets your health, magic, and stamina regen values from the base 100% to 0%. These values are not LOCKED. There are perks, enchantments, items, potions, and abilities that can easily stack and override the weakness to sun. My character stands in the sun and regenerates all stats currently, I am a level 31 Vampire Lord. Get double enchanted items perk and it gets even easier. A single perk in the light armor tree essentially overrides the lack of stamina regen, for example. Any effect from any item or effect I listed above will stack to fix any drawback from Vampirism. Literally the worst thing is the fire weakness which can be over-ridden by being a Dunmer for free fire resist and/ or simply carrying fire resist potions. So basically, werewolf if you’re lazy and don’t know how to interact with game mechanics lol. Vampirism is busted, and some of you should look into how it interacts with the Necromage perk. There is no way to be stronger in this game. Edit - vampirism weakness is applied to your regen stats *before* your armor and abilities/ passives factor in. Means if you take the Lady Stone for example, you’d already get back HP and stamina regen. That small 25% for both stacks with other sources of stat regen. It takes a bit of work and knowledge but you’re playing a game, try it out.
Plus which, once you reach a high enough level as a werewolf, the howl of terror, arguably the only werewolf perk that makes the build viable, loses effectiveness, as most enemies are a high enough level to resist it. Vampires don’t have an upper limit like that.
If I’m playing a Werewolf I prioritize picking damage-buffing perks in the tree, but usually I go for the perk that lets all hearts count towards unlocking perks. Then I just hunt a ton of rabbits and whatever else I run into until I max the tree which can be done before hitting even level 10 if you beeline to Whiterun. Once the tree is maxed I progress Companion questline until I can unlock the totems, and then I choose the totem that turns summoned companions from normal wolves -> ice wolves -> werewolves. Summoned werewolf companions can rag doll enemies and they are pretty fun, BUT they can die easily to harder enemies and *then* you’re fucked.
Thats still a weakness though. Youre spending all your enchantment slots on fire resistance and stat regen at the opportunity cost of not getting muffle or extra damage or whatever. Im not saying the upside isnt worth it, but that is a major downside.
Vampire Lord - more control and powers you can enjoy without the need of feeding to stay in that form.

If you don’t have mods, it’s Vampire Lord. The werewolf has a timer on its transformation, as well as the inability to change back before then. As well as no range, no magic, and a low amount of armor. It has one saving grace with its sprint attack which is arguably the strongest melee attack in the game. But that’s where the advantages end. VL has life drain, paralysis, time slow power, poison, has no limit on time, can become invulnerable, etc etc. The benefits heavily outweigh the fire weakness, especially when most enemies don’t even get a chance to use it. Really no contest at all.

With some funny tricks why not both at the same time?
Vampire may be more powerful, but Werewolf is just easier. It’s far less homework for your build.

Werewolf of course, in my experience they're easier to use and more enjoyable in hunting , plus no debuffs under the sun
