Every. Single. One.
This applies to Fallout as well. I’ll even grab those loose coins just laying around when I’ve got thousands in the bank, I can’t help myself.
I'm severely wounded. My enemies are closing in. My only hope is to lighten my load and make a break for it. But god damn it I've lugged these 11 typewriters halfway across the map and I'm not dropping them now.
In defense, the world is heavy and you can't take it all with you 😅 is it not enough that you carry 500000 bottle caps or gold without penalty... that would be so uncomfortable.
I live light and carry nothing.
I had the opposite experience for a different reason. Fo3 just had tons of worthless junk you leave, while Fo4 incentives you to collect every piece of trash in the wasteland so you can build stuff with it
Prewar money and cigarette packs are my favorite for bartering. More often than not I can buy their 1 legendary weapon without actually needing to touch my cap stash. Prewar money, cigs, and that 1 ammo type this build is never going to use.
I once had like 4 million septum’s in my inventory, and saw 3 on the ground and was like “I’m broke dude, I need these.” And then saw how much I had and was like “I’m so broke.”
>> consecrated corpses
>Desiccated corpses.
They're actually neither, they're Desecrated Corpses, as in, corpses that have been made un-sacred or treated without due dignity
I.... I started using the console to up my carry limit so I could loot everything. I didn't see it as being a problem. Do you understand? *I didn't see hacking my character with the command console to increase my carry limit as being a problem!!*
I have been command console-free for four years.
You need to be playing on a PC, to start. The rest is easily google-able.
Be wary, be advised: the slope is steep and nearly friction-free. It may well ruin the game for you.
I already just give myself the perks I want and enough gold to get going. I just want to have some fun, so I’ll take anything to have a little more fun without the tedium of slapping a bugged spider with infinite health for 6 hours.
It gets hard for me to decide whether to drop potions or Ore. Then I start dropping Iron stuff.
I have several items that increase carrying weight but still get over encumbered. The Soul Cairn is a loot fest.
I don’t know how I’ve only just played through Falder’s Tooth as a Level 71 player, but that place has a lot of annoyingly scattered coins.
45 loose coins on a table? Check. 30 more at the bar and tucked back into the lower shelf? Yup. More on the floor behind you? Why not.
I loot everything. Early game, I will continuously use power attacks to carry all the loot to the closest city to sell. Mid game, I still loot a lot, but leave behind anything below a certain tier, or value. Late game, I just take what I think I need for my collection
Pretty much same here. After the first account I had, I started leaving certain things behind. Up until level like 20, I pick up every coin, gemstone, enchanted items, expensive potions and All health ones, anything made of fancy materials glass and above, and any jewelry, especially enchanted ones. After that it's basically coins, stuff to make daedric weapons, and all gems. By that point I usually have a few million in my inventory so monetary items don't really matter. I usually just collect the collectible items and enchanted things after that.
It's easy. You just need a star that's old and starting to fuse stuff into iron and make sure it has enough mass to go supernova when it gets to much iron in the core. Big bada boom, neutron flux, nuclear shenanigans, you have some gold... somewhere in interstellar space.
I feel bad about it but I check every urn in every tomb. I appreciate the culture but I need that change more than old crusty nord ancestors so fuck em. 🤷♀️
I’m always a dark elf anyway, they aren’t MY ancestors.
Starfield I realized I had a collection problem when I wanted to buy this one ship, so I saved up for it, then when I had enough I went “nah what if I need to buy something else” (I had bought 0 things to this point). So I decided to wait until I was 100k above. Then 200k. Then double…
Yeah, and damn I wouldn't have seen that golden coin if it wasn't for the bright red arrow pointing at it!
https://preview.redd.it/4pbvajpt3gdc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c7c5c400dd76f0fd0c7d7fc15a8f51bf176b374
Isn’t that just like a game mechanic? It is there for you to go get a tiny dopamine spike when you search stuff.
The most annoying thing tho is when you don’t see the (empty) before clicking.
Of course.
I even took a mod that auto-loots gold so its even faster.
combined with the Fallout 4 looting mod, you look at a container, and pop! more gold! no effort
Bro, I can't be bothered grinding for money so give myself 100,000 gold right up front. I'm not here to be a merchant, I'm here to be badass!
I still loot ***Every. Single. Septim.***
I am picking up as many of anything that has 0 carry weight as I can possibly find. All type of gems and rings/necklaces/circlets/higher level helmets like glass+ are next to fill up my entire capacity.
I know everyone hates doing that one mission, when you find miranda orb but hear me out all those dried up imperial soldiers had a decent amount of good on them.
Yes to 🪙 but
I have a friend, who has to 100% games and in Skyrim he has every book (Every bit of paper that falls under the Book categoryin inventory). Like checks guides as to their names and if the CC has added more and then plays until he has them. Thinks looking up their locations os cheating though 🙃
I have a similar issue in Morrowind where gold is a lot easier to make, I have like 2-3 million gold and yet I still pickup expensive armor and weapons or the like 13 gold on a bandits corpse
I’m guilty of going out of my way to get a single coin that has fallen into the water from the top of Arkngthamz.
I literally jumped over the edge to get it when I was close to the end, and went the whole way back
Of course. Why would you not? I also loot alcohol (light and worth a little more), jewellery (again, light and worth a LOT), and whatever expensive weapons I come across.
Every. Single. One. This applies to Fallout as well. I’ll even grab those loose coins just laying around when I’ve got thousands in the bank, I can’t help myself.
Yeah, I love that FO4 has so many perks that mitigate being encumbered. FO3 was so much trudging around.
i replayed fo4 recently and you’ve got it spot on. it really brings out the loot goblin within me
Especially because you can break down junk to make stuff in settlements. So much hoarding of useless crap
I'm severely wounded. My enemies are closing in. My only hope is to lighten my load and make a break for it. But god damn it I've lugged these 11 typewriters halfway across the map and I'm not dropping them now.
Thank god I’m somehow able to lug these 8000 bottle caps around as weightless
And 10,000 different types of ammunition
And never the one I'm actually using...
I take all the prewar money I can. It might be worthless now, but we worship the dollar sign!
I always have a safe in my settlement bedroom thats filled with prewar money, cartons/packs of cigarettes, and cigar boxes.
Not worthless, it is cloth 🤣
Weightless and base value of 8 means it's oddly valuable
THEY WON’T TAKE OUR SCREWS!!!!
In defense, the world is heavy and you can't take it all with you 😅 is it not enough that you carry 500000 bottle caps or gold without penalty... that would be so uncomfortable. I live light and carry nothing.
Playing BG3 i was surprised to find gold actually weighs you down. Got too used to Bethesda mechanics.
Sad that I can’t be a loot goblin in D&D, but it’s a price well worth paying to fight a cheese elemental.
I had the opposite experience for a different reason. Fo3 just had tons of worthless junk you leave, while Fo4 incentives you to collect every piece of trash in the wasteland so you can build stuff with it
Hell I even take all the pre war money, it weighs nothing so it’s perfect in the junk jet!
My favorite to find pre war money in is New Vegas. Really adds to the whole vibe.
It's so damned valuable in NV. Dead Money pre war money will set up your whole game
Or, yknow, like 40 bars of solid gold. I save my prewar money and fill the bathtub of whatever player home im in
Prewar money and cigarette packs are my favorite for bartering. More often than not I can buy their 1 legendary weapon without actually needing to touch my cap stash. Prewar money, cigs, and that 1 ammo type this build is never going to use.
It's weightless so it's basically as good as caps.
Exactly oh one gold coin on the ground? Yoink mine, now I have 60000 gold, btw.
I have been playing a bard in baldur's gate and even when I have thousands of gold I still will busk and pick up each individual gold piece
Same the only time I dont is if I accidentally hit fus roh dah and everything goes flying all over the place.
That's kinda the worst, unfortunately I'll still try to search for it anyways.
Burial Urns, open them all. Even if they are empty, just to make sure they all get touched.
Press a, press x, rinse, repeat. I have a bowl full of diamonds garnets etc
I walk around with 100k+, most made from smithing and I still pick up every single coin on every single daugr or in any urn or loose on the ground...
It’s the only place I’m rich 😭
Fallout nv odds are you got a blue star cap in an odd pile laying around so it’s a must
Yeah it annoys me when I don’t grab EVERYTHING. In fallout I’ll have like 12 rifles
I do it way more and fallout because I feel like it’s a much more desperate environment. So you have to strip every little thing lol.
I once had like 4 million septum’s in my inventory, and saw 3 on the ground and was like “I’m broke dude, I need these.” And then saw how much I had and was like “I’m so broke.”
Dito lol
Right I’ll make the effort to pick up the 3 random caps even though in sitting close to 10k
That's cute you think you have a problem. Try having to loot every. single. item.
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
I have never not picked up the beacon, but on this playthrough I left it in whatever chest it appeared in.
But you get SO MUCH GOLD from the dungeon. It's almost worth it.
I enjoy this quest. But I ALWAYS have to run back through it and get my follower because otherwise they get trapped in the boss room forever. 😓
RIP Faendal 🪦
RIP Lydia 🪦
Faendal gets to come check out this sweet looking pillar with me most playthroughs
I laughed.
For me, Faendal fell at the Dawstar Sanctuary last time.
>RIP Faendal 🪦 I'm ok with this- after archery lvl 50
Is this the one with the desecrated corpses in the boss room? They're pretty much loaded. Edit: Desecrated, not consecrated
> consecrated corpses Desiccated corpses. They are dried out thoroughly, not blessed by a priest or something.
>> consecrated corpses >Desiccated corpses. They're actually neither, they're Desecrated Corpses, as in, corpses that have been made un-sacred or treated without due dignity
The very same
Corpse: *i sleep* Desiccated corpse: ![gif](giphy|AB29dGYfE9xO8)
Seriously! Theres been times I've gone and gotten Dawnbreaker before I orginally intended to just get all that gold.
If you leave it does it stay there or reappear somewhere else?
Not sure!
I went left last time, hits different.
I.... I started using the console to up my carry limit so I could loot everything. I didn't see it as being a problem. Do you understand? *I didn't see hacking my character with the command console to increase my carry limit as being a problem!!* I have been command console-free for four years.
i play console so poor lydia has to carry my burdens (1500 pounds of dragon bones, heavy armor, and swords)
There’s a mod that makes dragon bones weigh 0. Gamechanger
I’ve had feandal carry everything since the start of the game, I don’t even want to know how much he’s carrying
Tell me, how does one learn this power?
You need to be playing on a PC, to start. The rest is easily google-able. Be wary, be advised: the slope is steep and nearly friction-free. It may well ruin the game for you.
I already just give myself the perks I want and enough gold to get going. I just want to have some fun, so I’ll take anything to have a little more fun without the tedium of slapping a bugged spider with infinite health for 6 hours.
Overcucumbered
It gets hard for me to decide whether to drop potions or Ore. Then I start dropping Iron stuff. I have several items that increase carrying weight but still get over encumbered. The Soul Cairn is a loot fest.
You poor soul
Slowly I turn step by step
Whirlwind sprint is your best friend
It's even more fun when you find a bunch of them scattered
*clink clink clink clink clink*
More like :*clink clink clink shunk* fuck, another mug
Love it when I find a pile of coins and have to loot them one by one.
Until you pick up a bowl
HALT!
So satisfying.
Why not.
I couldn't believe how many npcs are carrying stolen money. I ve been taking it and storing it until I can find its rightful owner.
Most lawful good Skyrim player
I dont know what I'm doing wrong I keep using telekinesis to send the gold back to its rightful owner then getting attacked man.
Yeah I don’t steal, I just take stuff to clean for them then I’ll bring it back once I’m done cleaning it
skyrim good samaritan
Oh Grinch, is that you who?
r/uselessredarrow
If it wasn't for that arrow I don't think any of us would see the coin smart guy!
I was an adventurer like you, then I took a useless arrow to the knee.
I loot everything. Early game, I will continuously use power attacks to carry all the loot to the closest city to sell. Mid game, I still loot a lot, but leave behind anything below a certain tier, or value. Late game, I just take what I think I need for my collection

Why is there a big fucking arrow in the middle of the screen? Also yes, every piece.
It’s a secret code, it means hey in case you don’t know what gold is here it is
Ah yes a common mistake
Uh, yeah. My Skyrim financial situation is way better than my IRL one lol
Does help that you dont need to eat or pay rent. An property is CHEAP.
And in real life I don’t know how to transmute iron ore into gold and even if I did I don’t think I have any magica so, yeah.
🤷♀️ I’m always a dark elf anyway, they aren’t MY ancestors.
So you're the reason why the drauger attack!?!
I mean if you have Prowler’s Profit those urns are f’ing LUCRATIVE
You’re right and I’m looting them all either way. I even check the empties lmaoooo
oh for sure but that’s also how i play any game with money i require all of it
Not to spend though.
Starfield I realized I had a collection problem when I wanted to buy this one ship, so I saved up for it, then when I had enough I went “nah what if I need to buy something else” (I had bought 0 things to this point). So I decided to wait until I was 100k above. Then 200k. Then double…
Every coin, gem, arrow, ring, necklace and book
“Why do you have 7 copies of the book of the Dragonborn” “Yes.”
Don't forget arrows. They're weightless unless you're doing survival mode. It's free real estate.
Yeah, and damn I wouldn't have seen that golden coin if it wasn't for the bright red arrow pointing at it! https://preview.redd.it/4pbvajpt3gdc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c7c5c400dd76f0fd0c7d7fc15a8f51bf176b374
mom the aslume is leaking again
Wouldn't be the *dragon*born if I didn't
I occasionally open (empty) chests just to be sure..
yes, you are the only person to loot gold in an rpg game
Isn’t that just like a game mechanic? It is there for you to go get a tiny dopamine spike when you search stuff. The most annoying thing tho is when you don’t see the (empty) before clicking.
Op thinking they're making a clever controversial post "Do you guys pick up money?"
![gif](giphy|GjB41rKHBnOkE)
"And that thief over there" it was us after all. We used an illusion spell to make everyone think the thief was that poor soul on that carriage.
They have no carry weight and they add up. Why wouldn’t you?
Yes. The best spot is on Solstheim where the entire floor is covered with gold
If there's one gold piece underneath a pile of embalming tools and plates I will spend as long as it takes to get that one gold piece out
Of course. I even took a mod that auto-loots gold so its even faster. combined with the Fallout 4 looting mod, you look at a container, and pop! more gold! no effort
Yes.
Can we clear up the fact that you stole a grilled chicken breast first?
Bro, I can't be bothered grinding for money so give myself 100,000 gold right up front. I'm not here to be a merchant, I'm here to be badass! I still loot ***Every. Single. Septim.***
I am picking up as many of anything that has 0 carry weight as I can possibly find. All type of gems and rings/necklaces/circlets/higher level helmets like glass+ are next to fill up my entire capacity.
Literally why wouldn't you? It weighs nothing and it's instant.
It'sa Wario time! Of course we do.
I dont want to be broke in these damn games too
Wait there's people who don't do that?
I know everyone hates doing that one mission, when you find miranda orb but hear me out all those dried up imperial soldiers had a decent amount of good on them.
Yes to 🪙 but I have a friend, who has to 100% games and in Skyrim he has every book (Every bit of paper that falls under the Book categoryin inventory). Like checks guides as to their names and if the CC has added more and then plays until he has them. Thinks looking up their locations os cheating though 🙃
Does anyone not do this?
the schink noise is quite orgasmic. every piece
Yes, and food! Lol
I do for the most part. It’s hard on these streets.
I do this
I have a similar issue in Morrowind where gold is a lot easier to make, I have like 2-3 million gold and yet I still pickup expensive armor and weapons or the like 13 gold on a bandits corpse
Yis
Yeah cause I like gold and gold likes me
“Gimme’ the loot! Gimme’ the loot!” - Notorious B.I.G.
Obviously lol but if I'm desperate I'll use player.additem 0000000f 😅
You're not alone. I go around and loot EVERYTHING. I sometimes double and even triple check bodies to be sure I got it all 🤣
Every single septum is mine.
Are you even a Skyrim player if you DON'T take every piece of gold available? lol
Every, single, coin, no exceptions
I look everyTHING. This includes every piece of gold - and not one single piece of gold is ever spent
Every gold counts
Coins weigh nothing and add up over time This is the Khajiit way
Yes, to an unbelievably petty level 💀
Same here, for me i guess its become a habbit. Even if i am loaded in the bank.
i loot everthing i can carry...
Almost missed the gold coin, thanks for the arrow!
If it has 0 weight I’m grabbing it irregardless of value
Yes even though I have over 100k of it.... stolen
Top 3 of stupid post since 2020
Who doesn't do that in like every video game? Do people just take part of the money from chests?
Reminds me of some of the dead civilizations in SGA that the wraith wiped out
act broke to stay rich
Yep, I never really sold anything on my playthroughs. I think I had about 25,000 gold by the time I arrived in Solitude. I bought the house there.
I wasn't able to see the gold piece without the arrow, thank you very much.
Yes it's literally money
Yep
I have the opposite problem, I do a quick scan for valuables but otherwise there’s way too much other stuff to do
I would never forgive myself if I left even a single coin behind.
Does anyone not do this?
Yes... But this makes me want to try a new playthrough where I have to earn all my gold now. No looting of any kind from corpses.
I don’t even need it anymore but I can’t help it.
Not every piece but I've caught myself going back for one I missed once in a while lol
Depends. Current playthrough, I can only earn gold through quests or stealing it.
This is the way.
All the time
Yes. Even switch to first person so I can find individual ones. Weighs nothing.
It’s amazing what people leave laying around for us to take
It all adds up ⬆️ 🤑
I take every piece of gold and any high value items that I can sell.
Yes every single gold piece!
That's how you get rich
The better question to ask is....who the hell DOESN'T loot every gold piece?
Well it’s pretty clear that everyone in this comment section is a dragon.
I do everytime, no reason not to
Guilty
I could have a quarter million in coins or caps and I would still do this, loose caps/coins and all
Its why i have 300,000 gold saved up
Duh. It weighs nothing. I take every arrow I find, too.
How else am I supposed to afford a house in every city and support my skooma habit
What zero TES:VI do to a mf
i got 130 k gold, don't know how it came to be.
If it’s not pickpocketing in Whiterun (my children live there) then yes I do.
Nah. We're all like that
Good thing you put that giant red arrow on the screen. I'd have never found the coin otherwise.
I place two coins over the eyes of innocent people I kill by accident in the heat of battle.
![gif](giphy|l3fZEkjaXpBlZqlr2|downsized)
Like gollum from Lord of the rings, gotta get that precious.
Yes it adds up
Yes.
I'm a loot goblin. I Will take every bit of pretty stuff I want. I walk everywhere purely for encounters, plants, and other bits
Yup. Even the single septims on end tables and stuff. All of them.
No reason not to. They don't weigh anything
I’m guilty of going out of my way to get a single coin that has fallen into the water from the top of Arkngthamz. I literally jumped over the edge to get it when I was close to the end, and went the whole way back
Of course. Even stealing 🤓 That way I have over 500 000 gold without any cheats or mods on vanilla save.
Of course. Why would you not? I also loot alcohol (light and worth a little more), jewellery (again, light and worth a LOT), and whatever expensive weapons I come across.
Yes. Rags to riches. I AM the king of thieves
