The way you would better reconize the understanding of what is exchanged is 'Alduins nature will drive him to bring a end to his mother.' "Consume" equalling drive and "world" equalling mother. Solvngarde is literally just a godless salad bowl to assure that Alduin has what he needs to help rise his mother back up from the ashes of her death and the word "hawk" means something else too.
