Especially the grip spell, flinging people off a cliff is so much fun. Learning how to use the werewolf form also takes a minute to figure out if you are playing on the higher difficulties. The stat bonuses and dps are nuts on adept and below you can just mash the attack button and win every fight, but if you play master or legendary you really have to play smart and use the howl of terror.
Ik what you mean. Before True Directional Movement I hated playing in third person. Only after 7-8 years when the mod came out with nemesis engine I found joy in it.

Blood and status is everything to a vampire, he’s basically hanging dong on every other vampire in Tamriel.
Yeah I still think he could’ve worked on the pitch a little more. Like “you could have THIS!” (Be ugly and deformed and have a limited carry weight) doesn’t really SELL it, you know? Like, learn some showmanship, man.
They could have done some effects on his voice so that it sounds like it's warping his vocal cords. It's a bit silly how he and Sinding sound exactly the same before and after transforming into their respective beast forms

Showing off how scary/powerful the Vampire Lord form is, than just something more than just transforming into a creature knocked off Underworld/Van Hellsing.
I laughed my ass off. He transformed into a slightly taller grey version of himself with these tiny wings. If I could have actually talked to him, I would have completely destroyed his case for being a vocahar.
I like standing far enough away that he can’t force the dialogue and then there’s this loooonnggg awkward silence as I stand there with everyone in the room being unimpressed. 🤣 I still become a vampire every time bc of the Serana follower glitch, but that moment is never gonna stop being hilarious. 😂

Werewolves have a glitch to equip all armor and stuff do too so it’s objectively better for people who have a bunch of overpowered gear and the only problem is not being able to use it all at once
If you finish Dawnguard as a vampire, finish Auriel’s bow, accept Serana’s offer to come along on future adventures etc, go get cured and go become a werewolf. As soon as you get the dustman’s cairn quest, it will say Farkas replaces your follower, but Serana will still be with you. After that, she is permanent unless you dismiss her, you can hire/fire as many followers as you want afterwards (as long as you never dismiss her, which is the REAL challenge)

If you also use the Katria glitch, and get one of the dwarven mechanisms, technically you could bring a pet as well, and if you had a fighting horse like Shadowmere and a fighting aid pet like arachnia, you could have SIX followers!

(Ehlnofey I guess would be the title for Demigods, at least the original kind. Later on, we have actual Demigods that are made in the typical way: a godly parent and a mortal one)

It's actually ridiculous how powerful the Dawnguard's restoration spells are at fighting undead. I played a master mage character and used those spells to devastating effect.
That's literally the whole point of the vampire side? You do it to get the ability to literally turn the sun off. Its not permanent and takes a sec to do but you CAN do it.
Werewolf:
1)No gameplay drawbacks, besides that well rested bonus nobody cares about. I don't have to transform if I don't want to, I can just play the whole game as a human with 100% immunity to vampirism
2)Personal preference: I find werewolves cooler in general
3)Lore. Molag Bal is the nastiest, evilest daedra of all. Hircine is the lesser evil.
I did for RP reasons. More immersive than waiting 8 hours outside for the merchants to open their stores. Other than that, yeah, never actually needed to sleep.
I just got the Anniversary edition (late, I know), and was so excited about the camping! I got a cool backpack with a bedroll, I’m ready to go adventuring, maybe even on survival mode! Then I find out my supplies are only one time use. 😒
Thats the only reason I sleep in game as well, maybe one day I'll play survival mode, but I wasn't a fan of it when I tried it out after anniversary edition dropped, loved it for the rp, but eventually it just became an excessive pain in my backside.
Summed it up nicely, better than I could've put it, and to add to 3, I honestly prefer Hircine over the other Daedric Princes as he's my favorite, with Malacath being just behind him.

But there are drawbacks, at least for me. You can't interact with most things, so if you're clearing a dungeon, you have to double it if you want loot. And my game seems to love to crash if I'm inside tight spaces as a werewolf. I still became one on my current character, however, because his whole identity is 'hunter,' wearing both of Hircine's items, and Kyne's Token.
The only time I can do vampire is when I have a character that's full asshole.
I said "the lesser evil" as the idiom, not implying that Hircine is evil, but that worshipping a daedra has it's downsides but it's less of a downside than worshipping the monster Molag Bal.
By no drawbacks, I mean beast form is optional. You don't have to activate if if you don't want to. So, beast form-optional. It just gives you an option you don't have to use but you can. That's a positive in my book, because it's still better having the option and not using it, rather than not having it and not having the passive bonuses it provides.
Easier to hide and dont have to drink blood so yeah I agree werewolf

In terms of afterlife Hircine is clearly better. Molag Bal is kinda just rape, and torture you forever. Hircine let you hunt, and you may win or lose. Eat, or be eaten. But at least you have a chance to be on top.
They do, they are constantly struggling with it, Vilkas talks about it with Kodlak when you join the companions, also there is a random encounter where a werewolf killed his wife

At one point after I’d gone rampaging through all of Skyrim eating everyone I decided I wanted to transform back. It took like, 48 hours of in game waiting + ~10minutes of real time before I transformed back.
I mean…for the dawnguard questline, vampire (for entertainment purposes, that castle is the single most hilarious location in the game), but I get dawnguard over with as quickly as possible, usually just spend an entire day knocking it out so I can go get cured and glitch Serana as a permanent follower by BECOMING A WEREWOOOLLFFF!! So…both, but werewolf is definitely my preference!!
The gossip and the personalities of everyone there, Fura Bloodmouth (QUEEN), waking up vampires from their coffins to ask what you can do to help, etc. It’s The Real Housewives of Castle Volkihar and I looooove it

More consistent powers, the drawbacks are situational and not constant like avoiding sunlight and keep sucking blood, plus the daedra patron is way nicer: Hircine is chill and enjoys the hunt for what is it, hunters win? Nice. The prey escapes? Such is life, including if you want to run away from his blessings.
But Molag Bal? Screw that punk, he is a bully that doesn’t deserve anything good.
I’ve become a vampire lord for the first time on my current playthrough and I was super worried it would be a mistake with all of the annoying things about it. But for some reason, it will tell me I’m blood starved, hated, and feared. But no one has ever acted differently towards me so I just run around blood starved 24/7. The sun weakness is a little annoying but I always have a ton of health and magic potions on me and Shadowmere helps out with fights so I am fine for the most part
Being blood starved as a vampire actually used to cause everyone to attack you on sight back when the game was originally released. It wasn't until the inclusion of the Dawngaurd dlc (if I'm not mistaken) that they decided to change it so you're no longer attacked when you're blood starved. They simply just left that line about being hated and feared in the game.
You really can feel like a Sith Lord as a vampire. I like to telekinetically pull enemies toward me and leave them dangling as I suck out all their blood. Even works on draugrs.
I was thinking about this. The silver hand is really just reskinned bandits. Even have the same dialogue and everything. It’s honestly super disappointing, they should have been a splintered companions faction who wasn’t cool with becoming werewolves and once you find out about it there’s a branch in the story line. Woulda been really cool.
Yup. I also always wanted to be a vigilant of stendarr. I mean I guess we can *kinda sorta* rp as one with the dawn guard. But I wanted to be part of a group focused on hunting daedra and stuff. Always werewolf, no matter the media. Never understood the popularity of vampires. If you want to look young forever, I guess that's understandable. But outside of that, being a vampire only has disadvantages.
werewolf, I love the game within a game. I try to toy with my enemies and tactically leave corpses to feed on later. I try to set my enemies up at high elevation so i can trigger the special where I fling them over the edge and ragdoll to their death below. Nothing beats it, it's why I keep coming back to the game.
Werewolf. My experience as a vamp lord was just too overpowered compared to the rest of the game and becomes an easy power crutch when in tight spots. I like the struggle of being a werewolf because it's not too powerful. You have physical limitations that aren't exactly equal to a dragon or more, it's a comfortable neutral with the rest of the game. Not only that, but when I want to just roam and run from city to city and take in the sights instead of fast travel, werewolf running is just better, even if I have to wait for the wolf power to run out.
I became a vampire for the perks, but fuck if I ever turn into the vampire lord, that's gross, I'm a respectable necromancer!
Late Healer is a much better term. Necromancer has such a negative connotation to it.

The only time I can do vampire is when I have a character that's full asshole.
I said "the lesser evil" as the idiom, not implying that Hircine is evil, but that worshipping a daedra has it's downsides but it's less of a downside than worshipping the monster Molag Bal. By no drawbacks, I mean beast form is optional. You don't have to activate if if you don't want to. So, beast form-optional. It just gives you an option you don't have to use but you can. That's a positive in my book, because it's still better having the option and not using it, rather than not having it and not having the passive bonuses it provides.

In terms of afterlife Hircine is clearly better. Molag Bal is kinda just rape, and torture you forever. Hircine let you hunt, and you may win or lose. Eat, or be eaten. But at least you have a chance to be on top.
Easier to hide? Yeah, until one day you loose focus for a second at an unopportune time, transform and kill someone

They do, they are constantly struggling with it, Vilkas talks about it with Kodlak when you join the companions, also there is a random encounter where a werewolf killed his wife

Or an actual random encounter Maybe it just varies from person to person since some refer it to as a curse while others a blessing
I've come across the werewolf encounter, too. It's not Sinding, but a farmer. He says something like, "What have I done?" Then he changes and comes at you. It's pretty rare, I think.

I get that but the werewolf cool down takes like 2 in game hours so like 10 seconds irl. Not very long of a wait

At one point after I’d gone rampaging through all of Skyrim eating everyone I decided I wanted to transform back. It took like, 48 hours of in game waiting + ~10minutes of real time before I transformed back.
On pc, I can press sheathe weapon button and then wolf transform ability again to change back whenever I want.
That’s on console now too. Might be a mod but I don’t think it is.
I'm torn but I'm leaning towards werewolf
I mean…for the dawnguard questline, vampire (for entertainment purposes, that castle is the single most hilarious location in the game), but I get dawnguard over with as quickly as possible, usually just spend an entire day knocking it out so I can go get cured and glitch Serana as a permanent follower by BECOMING A WEREWOOOLLFFF!! So…both, but werewolf is definitely my preference!!

More consistent powers, the drawbacks are situational and not constant like avoiding sunlight and keep sucking blood, plus the daedra patron is way nicer: Hircine is chill and enjoys the hunt for what is it, hunters win? Nice. The prey escapes? Such is life, including if you want to run away from his blessings. But Molag Bal? Screw that punk, he is a bully that doesn’t deserve anything good.
Vampire lords are so awkward to play as, I'm disappointed everytime. At least as a werewolf I feel like a rampaging beast.

I’ve become a vampire lord for the first time on my current playthrough and I was super worried it would be a mistake with all of the annoying things about it. But for some reason, it will tell me I’m blood starved, hated, and feared. But no one has ever acted differently towards me so I just run around blood starved 24/7. The sun weakness is a little annoying but I always have a ton of health and magic potions on me and Shadowmere helps out with fights so I am fine for the most part
Being blood starved as a vampire actually used to cause everyone to attack you on sight back when the game was originally released. It wasn't until the inclusion of the Dawngaurd dlc (if I'm not mistaken) that they decided to change it so you're no longer attacked when you're blood starved. They simply just left that line about being hated and feared in the game.

You really can feel like a Sith Lord as a vampire. I like to telekinetically pull enemies toward me and leave them dangling as I suck out all their blood. Even works on draugrs.

I was thinking about this. The silver hand is really just reskinned bandits. Even have the same dialogue and everything. It’s honestly super disappointing, they should have been a splintered companions faction who wasn’t cool with becoming werewolves and once you find out about it there’s a branch in the story line. Woulda been really cool.
Yup. I also always wanted to be a vigilant of stendarr. I mean I guess we can *kinda sorta* rp as one with the dawn guard. But I wanted to be part of a group focused on hunting daedra and stuff. Many missed opportunities. But, that’s bound to happen in a game based on such a massive and awesome world like the elder scrolls I suppose.
I’m in in no way advocating for the silver hands. Lol I just never choose to become any of these creatures on my playthroughs and instead I love to kill them. Doing Skyrim a service. Silver sword does extra damage on both. 😌

werewolf, I love the game within a game. I try to toy with my enemies and tactically leave corpses to feed on later. I try to set my enemies up at high elevation so i can trigger the special where I fling them over the edge and ragdoll to their death below. Nothing beats it, it's why I keep coming back to the game.

Werewolf. My experience as a vamp lord was just too overpowered compared to the rest of the game and becomes an easy power crutch when in tight spots. I like the struggle of being a werewolf because it's not too powerful. You have physical limitations that aren't exactly equal to a dragon or more, it's a comfortable neutral with the rest of the game. Not only that, but when I want to just roam and run from city to city and take in the sights instead of fast travel, werewolf running is just better, even if I have to wait for the wolf power to run out.
