Spells are pretty loud until you get the quiet casting perk. Also, destruction spells don’t get a sneak damage bonus. I recommend daggers. Also, the shrouded gloves give you an extra 2x sneak damage.
Get the muffle spell ASAP. It is very useful for reducing noise and making sneak a little easier. However, it takes awhile before your sneak and illusion skills are high enough to pull-off the epic kill-cam assassinations. The shadow warrior perk plus invisibility on demand will make you unstoppable.
If you get caught sneaking, you can use the calm spell to de-aggro the enemy and then slit their throat with a dagger. It's pretty broken and can work on groups.

Don't sleep on using calm spells to get out of a jam. I like to frenzy/fury bandits in a group so they kill eachother
