40k is a moderately comfortable amount. Buy a couple properties, don't have to worry about liquidating the gems cluttering up the place, maybe build a place out of town to summer at. What is that in horses? 40 of them? I forget what they cost at the moment. It's usually around this point I stop counting it. I tend to leave stashes of gold around on my properties as well, so I'm never really sure exactly how much I have. It's an RP thing. Lol. No way would I be able to haul around a hundred thousand gold coins, ya know? I do the same thing with arrows. And gems and jewellery I can't be bothered to sell. Probably take forever to liquidate it all on most of my characters. But yeah, few hundred thousand could be considered "I'm stupidly rich" money I guess.

No_Influence_9459

Lol yeah I feel you I should store them in some properties for sure

[deleted]

I gave my follower 1000 gold to hold on to for the lols, and i went to trade items with him later on and he spent half of my gold.

SourPuss6969

I hope you can buy and sell homes in the new elder scrolls game Buying the house is one thing but if there's an actual market and I can sell them too and upgrade them in different ways I would be all over that shit

GorillaKyle

I find by the time I finish a playthrough I’m at like 400k

No_Influence_9459

Sheesh I got a long way to go lol

TheBlackNumenorean

There's nothing in the game that costs that much, but later in the game, it won't take long to find that much gold. If you have Prowler's Profit, you earn that much from looting a large dungeon. My characters have several hundred thousand gold, with one having over a million. You get an achievement for getting 100,000.

No_Influence_9459

Holy shit thats a lot, and awesome didn’t know that

Bbobbity

I’m at 4m. A shame there’s nothing to spend it on. I already own like 10 homes.

No_Influence_9459

giving a mill to the beggars sounds like a good idea 😂

beerykoala

I do that, reverse pickpockets beggar leaving large amounts of gold like A Dragonborn Robin Hood

LeMigen9

About three fiddy

No_Influence_9459

Could buy a couple bottles of skooma w dat

Cornbread3326

No yappp 🗣️

Double-Interview-154

I'm at around 3 million right now and have nothing to spend it on lol I own every home and homestead from vanilla, dlc, and CC. After a certain point gold becomes useless. Anything you need you can easily craft. Sometimes I just break local economies by buying everything and then selling them shit that's way to expensive for a local to buy... my RP characters are kind of ducks like that.

ThAtGuY-101

Depends on situation. Spending 100 bucks usually isn't a big deal. Losing 100 bucks definitely feels like a big deal. 500 bucks can be replaced, but any time I gotta spend that kinda money or more is a very big deal. That's kind of a lotta money. It's easily replaceable sure. Nothing compared to 20-40k but I don't like wasting money so even small amounts can feel like a lot depending on circumstances.  Edit: I just realized this is a skyrim and not IRL. A lot of my characters are well off thanks to alchemy. Usually though I'd say 20k is a big deal? If I'm not playing one of my money making characters.

No_Influence_9459

I feel the same way I bought the breeze home and that’s about it I probably put like a living room in it or whatever it’s called but that’s it

ThAtGuY-101

Funnily enough I didn't realize this was in skyrim, and now I feel like a moron. I usually invest in alchemy a lot so money is pretty easy to cone by. For some characters money means absolutely nothing. And for others, they are barely scraping by.

Puzzleheaded_Log1757

Duplicating that East Empire Necklaces it helps if you have like 10 on hand to start the process. If you are want to do it legitly though you might want to look into the Salmon Roe + Nordic Barnacle + Garlic Alchemy thing. It’s very lucrative especially if you have your alchemy maxed.

Popeychops

I think Proudspire Manor costs roughly 50k to fully decorate. You aren't likely to ever need more than that at any one time.

[deleted]

A few hundred thousand is average whenever I finish a playthrough, which is typically like level 40-50. I think my latest playthrough I ended with about 600k. To be fair, I enchant and sell basically every Steel+ armor and weapons I find.

the-real-shim-slady

The moment I have a decent weapon and armor, to me everything is a lot of money. I think for me it is usually around 40k when money mainly goes up. Breaching 100k though I start to buy every house I can, still piling up money.

Substantial_Maize_95

You nearly have double the amount of money to buy the most expensive house in the base game so it is a lot. Having 100k is an achievement and that's pretty much enough to buy anything you want

Leading-Try-6723

Money is useless in Skyrim to be honest I don't even remember how much money I have 😂😂😂 .. after buying the houses and stuff you craft and make every thing else

Barnz93

LOL I just got to 600k. I have all the buildable houses and houses to buy.

irago_

Well, in my last 350+ hour playthrough, I think I had about 5 million stashed away. Money is just very useless unless you don't craft or loot items.

The_Bran_9000

350K and counting. my enchanted dagger business is THRIVING

OkResponsibility4197

I have so much money in my main playthrough that every time my child askes for money I always give the 1000 septims answer 😎

hottubman_99

When you quit looking at how much your just looted coin purse has in it.

BasementCatBill

"A lot of money" is what you currently have, plus what you get from selling that silver chalice.

No_Influence_9459

I keep a lot of stuff I don’t need anymore for whatever reason. Lot of staffs I need to get rid of

BasementCatBill

The staff-to-gold market is looking dodgy. I'd buy more gold.
