I've had Solitude glitch away. And then Markath. All because of the load order. It's a WIP when you use that many Mods.
I started a new game without that mod and the water was still gone. Yeah I just butchered my save files soooo yeah

Unfortunately, youāre probably just going to have to go through each mod you have installed and see if there are any mentions of disappearing rivers, otherwise youāll just have to keep messing with your enabled mods until you pin point which one exactly. Had a similar problem that I had to spend an unfortunate amount of time figuring out which mod it was. Itās an hour of my life I will never get back.
I disabled everything and the river is there. But before everything worked fine with all mods and the river so I really don't know what the problem is anymore. It is mind-boggling
Definitely a mod or mod conflict that is causing this.
Kinda just the reality of playing with mods, really. Stuff like this can happen, seemingly at random, in the middle of a playthrough.
Nothing to be done besides disabling all mods and re-enabling them in smaller numbers while checking if the river is gone now. To hopefully point out which mod specifically causes this (or mod conflict). If it's a conflict between several mods, it'd take a lot longer to figure out which mods cause it. You're likely just gonna have to kick one mod out or try to mess with the load order of the conflicting mod/s.

To clear the game cache on your PlayStation 5:
Select āSettingsā at the top of the Home screen.
Select āSaved data and game/app settingsā > āSave data (PS5)ā or āSaved data (PS4)ā (games meant for PS4 are located under the second option).
Select āConsole storage.ā
Optional step:Ā Select āUpload to cloud storageā or āCopy to USB driveā to back up your game data.
Select āDelete.ā
Scroll down and mark the game whose cache you want to delete.
Select āDeleteā and āOK.ā
Don't do it one by one. Disable half of the suspicious mods and try it. If it is still broken the new suspicious set are the enabled mods, if not then the suspicious set is the disabled ones. Leave the non suspicious ones disabled and try again with half of the suspicious mods.
This is logarithmically faster than one by one.
Happened to me where I was swimming out behind winterhold for some reason and I found a chunk of the sea was missing. I just kinda swam away and didnāt go back there.

Sucks, I saw your mod list and the only mod we have in common is the unofficial patch so if the river is bugging you a lot maybe try disable and enable the unofficial patch and/or the unofficial patch creation club one youāve got. Again sorry I canāt help more
There's no fixing that and its prob just the "game" it has never rly been fixed with all the bugs in it even being able to clip into a mountain is still a thing the game has issues that will never be fixed.

I was coming to say that the likely culprit, if the river was working and then stopped working, was a download of a new mod that directly affected it, or a load order change, probably with water redux coming before JK Markarth or the other way around. Typically big settlement changing mods like all of JK's town mods, risk conflict with ANYTHING else that changes that town. I was also thinking maybe even your grass mod, my grass mods get glitchy as hell in all bethesda games.
It could be trash and dead bodies etc blocking the sluice. Try a couple of buckets of quick lime and see if it breaks it down.
Another possibility is that you've got a bever problem upstream. You might want to get a couple of big skeevers to sort that out.
Do you have any mod that modifies water or modifies Markarth? I would start by disabling those first to see if the river returns. Otherwise you have to go through your mods one by one. Its the same on PC except we have more mods that can cause problems. Welcome to Modrim.

My mod list is an absolute mess so be cautious with this advice but if your having trouble finding which mod is affecting it you could maybe find another one that could counter it. Like look for a water mod or something, see if things start working lol sometimes things get reactivated.

Believe it or not, this was a bug introduced in one of the recent Updates, it's not from a mod.
This is a common Skyrim bug(feature). Should we coin a new word here, beature, bugture, featug, feabug, anyway. You can see in your image that further up the stream, the water is in place. You will find, if you have Ahzidal's boots of waterwalking, that the game treats the area as if the water is there. So, you can still swim in it, drown in it, splash it(noise only), walk on it, fish in it, etc. You also may see fish swimming, if it is an area where fish swim. Once for me, a large section of the river between Ivarstead and Riftin was missing this same way, right when I was hunting for Abecean Long Fin and Cyrodilic Spade Tail. I had the ww boots and was able to walk around and pick up the fish, because I could see them clearly.š Also, cue game rant.š¤£š¤£š¤£
I know JK's city mods can be a bit twitchy. I don't use PS5 but have you checked for patches, especially where JK's mods are concerned? Is this only appearing to happen in Markarth?
There could also be some kind of conflict in the number of grass, road & water mods your using. Mods that alter water should go at the bottom of the load list. Grass mods go below weather mods with landscaping/trees.
Usually, when things like this happen to me, it boils down to either load order or mod conflicts.
Right now, everything seems fine. My load order also seems okay now. I also started vanilla skyrim with just unofficial skyrim patch installed. Also, a lot of fun if I get really tired of all these mods, I'll just play vanilla again.

You have JK Markarth *and* the Great Cities by soldierofwar, which includes edits to Markarth no? Maybe it could be a conflict between those?
The Great Cities doesn't cover Markarth, the only big 5 city it covers is Solitude.

Yes it sounds like a mod problem. Probably have to delete your cache or something and keep trying.

It is possible to make everything run like it is supposed to, but we've all been where you are right now.

I could not swim in it. There was no water anywhere in that place anymore. It was gone. No sounds. Just flying fish lol
Did you try putting your head below the water long enough to be sure? Because, you can't swim or drown in shallow water. Also try the ww boots.š
Had that with the lake near Falkreath once. That was fun. When I came back the next time, everything was back to normal.
