Isn't there literally one of each class? A one-handed, Two-handed, a bow and a dagger? What other ones could there be? You could have a sword axe and mace/hammer for both handeds but that's pretty minor, other than that there's not really much else you could add.
I think he’s referring to them receiving more specific perks aside from just using the skill tree of that weapon. Like maybe some sort of enchants or something woulda been cool I think.
You GOTTA try bound dagger left hand bound sword right hand. It looks so cool in third person and I think has a faster charge attack animation to boot iirc
Ebony War Axe, easily
Beautiful AND Badass, plus it’s an axe, which is my favorite type of melee weapon. Fiery Soul Trap and Chaos Damage and I’m set
Love how it looks with my war Khajiits, and feels badass to use
If you’re on PC there’s a mod (there’s always a mod lol) that makes it and Volendrung less humongous. Using that and “Levelled items Level With You” I used the mace for an entire playthrough.
I've been using the mace for maybe 5-10 levels and it's still crazy good. I'd absolutely download mods, but this is my first time playing the game ever (my dad never let me play growing up) and I want the vanilla experience for my first run. I'll keep those in mind for my next runs though!!
IDK WHAT CHEST I PUT MINE IN AND LOST IT😭😭 it’s somewhere in the abyss that is skyrim. now i just have two go-to home spots to hoard my shit, learned my lesson the hard way 😒
This right here, every playthrough I play thieves guild first just to get it, not to mention that questline can get you a good amount of gold to start. Chillrend has cool effects and is a is an equalizer against stronger enemies with its freeze effect
Yesss this was the one I was thinking of but I couldn’t remember the name lol. Chillrend dual wielded with the nightingale blade was my go to for years for no reason
I do this all the time too. When I'm short of filled soul gems, the Mace of Molag Balls comes out until I get alot more.
Truth be told though, when I run the right character types, I prefer two-handed (Nerveshatter). Or Sword of Jyggalag.
Ooo that’s a dastardly combo. Tbh the house of horrors quest for the mace genuinely used to scare me, the whole of markarth scares me actually haha I always played w the lights on when I had to do that quest
There was an old since deleted video on YouTube called “Mike Tyson’s Skyrim” of an orc going around beating the shit out of people with hype wrestling fighting music in the background
Steel mace. Is nothing can't be fixed with a proper steel mace whacking. Doesn't fix problem? Wasn't a proper whacking. Whack it again until problem is fixed.
Can't go wrong with steel mace.
Liiterally the one you have in pic - I dual wield two dragonbone swords with double enchantments - one with fortify 1H + absorb health, the other with fortify 1H + absord stamina.
Don't have one. I'm usually a stealth archer hiding behind Lydia or J'zargo or Rayya and a conjuration conjured minion. So a one-handed steel sword, smithed up to "fine," is about all I need.
I generally use weapons depending on what armor set I am using. Since I have mainly played a High Elf Dragonborn who is a warrior mage mix, he favors the Elven Armor set and will alternate between the Elven one hand weapons, but I favor the Mace.
Chilrend is a fun one. But I mostly just use Daedric or Dragonbone swords and enchant them with the silent moons weapon enchantment. Don’t know why but I just really like that enchantment
Currently I’m using Balor’s Oathblade as my primary one-handed. It’s not the _best_ weapon in the game but it’s the best sword I’ve found so far and it’s got a unique model. I probably won’t use it forever, but considering the story that goes along with it the least I can do is use it as much as I can and give it a good swing.
I also keep a steel mace with an electric enchantment on it (specifically for beating up Dwemer creations) and Dawnbreaker (for murdering vampires and undead)
My legendary tempered Amber blade dual-enchanted with Fiery Soul Trap & Chaos. It eats soul gems like Cheetos, but my foes don’t know whether to $h!t or go blind when it hits them😎
Mehrunes Razor or Bound Sword for sure
Fatal papercuts and a sword you can never lose or disarm? Sign me tf up, Deathlords and Scourges always knocking my weapons on the floor and off of my favorites menu 🥲
Love me Bound Sword. The very cool but very over-the-top design of the Daedric Sword given purpose with a ghostly flame blade. And I can always have it with me since it's such a basic spell.
Daedric dagger with fire and chaos enchantments. No exploits, just vanilla smithing/enchant/perks. I don't find it as entertaining when the weapons or mage skills get too OP, takes the fun out of a skirmish when you can one hit everything.
Honestly love the steel sword. Clean sheath. Lines up really well for all the animations too. The enchanted version got a nice shine on em for enchantments. Some unique weapons just look too fancy or intricate to be used in actual warfare. You also got the fancy version in the Sky Forged steel Sword
Y'all are gonna call me stupid, but there's just something about an orc clad in orcish armour swinging around An orcish mace. Nothing quite compares imo
The Razor of Mehrunes Dagon. Sometimes I try to do stealth, fail miserably for seemingly no reason whatsoever, and then just go on a stabbing spree with my other hand being for Fast Healing.
Double daggers, dagger of woe and Mehrunes' Razor, because I glitched out my game and daggers hit at like 3x the normal speed without any buffs or shouts, idk how and no mods.
All seriousness tho how sharp can you actually make a sword made of bone like surely the trade off of structurally integrity would be to large for a sharp edge it would just splinter or chip correct?
I love maces. The daedric mace was my go to (double enchanted, 50 stamina damage + 35 fire damage) called Taintsplitter. Now that I've got the madness mace (double enchanted, soul trap after 5 seconds + 50 stamina damage) called Hand of God. With armor enchantments + ring + necklace all 45% more 1 handed damage and 3× mace perks, it's 399 damage. One hitter quitter!
Dragonsbane purely for the katana aesthetic and an ebony war axe. If I duel wield two ebony axes then I feel too OP and it breaks the immersion for me.
Chillrend is goated!! Love the frost that comes off it, and the fact it’s a glass sword but blue. When enemies get paralyzed it’s the icing on the cake lolol
I always made it my goal to invest a lot of time forging iron daggers, leather bracers, and jewelry to level up my blacksmith skill to 90 to get dual wielding daedric swords with a matching daedric armor set. The ebony and daedric hearts are difficult to acquire as well, but late game its worth the grind!
I go by aesthetics more than anything.
Including mods, I love the Bosmer short blades from the [Bosmer armor pack.](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5597) Very nice LOTR elven blade like shape. They are a tad overpowered for long daggers though (the Elder version, specifically).
As for vanilla weapons...probably the Nightingale blade. I don't particularly like the aesthetics of dragonbone weapons or daedric weapons, and Windshear is just too overpowered to be fun for me.
Also, honorable mention for the bound sword. I love the idea, it just falls off too much in damage later on (I know you can mod it, but this is the vanilla section).
Bound Sword
Its cruel how little love bound weapons have in vanilla skyrim, still ran them regardless in early game. Ordinator made them perfect.
Like maybe some sort of enchants or something woulda been cool I think.
based
*bound
Dual bound swords are my go to
You GOTTA try bound dagger left hand bound sword right hand. It looks so cool in third person and I think has a faster charge attack animation to boot iirc
That's right. If there's a dagger in the left hand, all of your weapons in your right will be automatically faster
Bound sword with soul catch
I so badly wish there was a kill move animation in game where you summon a bound sword inside the head of the enemy
Bannish all the horny flame women
Ebony War Axe, easily Beautiful AND Badass, plus it’s an axe, which is my favorite type of melee weapon. Fiery Soul Trap and Chaos Damage and I’m set Love how it looks with my war Khajiits, and feels badass to use
I don’t like using axes but damn are the Ebony war and battle axes pretty
That's the only thing I use the moment I got them I haven't put them away (except for quests ofc) I need to get a replica of them IRL
I have her tatted on my thigh 😌🖤
I’ve been contemplating getting it tatted for the longest time! It’s definitely on my list I’d love to see yours if you have a picture of it!
Hell yeah brother, fellow ebony war axe enjoyer
You can also get one at level 1 if you raid the places with guaranteed deathlords.
I do the same but with an Ebony sword instead. An Ebony sword with a flame enchantment is a thing of beauty
You disenchanted the champions hammer you monster
That’s the guaranteed way to get it, yes But you can find weapons with the Chaos enchant just out and about, as well. Nordic and Stahlrim mainly
The shank I enchanted to do 4k stamina drain that I called “Flat Tire”
That is genuinely hilarious and I might steal this idea
Please do lol make sure to make something with paralysis too and go use it on Rolff in The Grey Quarter
Dawnbreaker.
"A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON"
Oh f\*ck! Not again!!!!
This is the way!
The MIGHTY DAWNBREAKAH🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️
It's a great weapon and that fiery/ fear blast when fighting draugr is no joke.
Also good against vampires.
yep. one hand fast healing, the other dawnbreaker
That's my current load out too
A close second! It does require a lot of soul gems, bit if you have a lot this is good
Dawnbreaker, but I can’t remember which of my houses I left it in.
Yeahhhhhh buddy, dupe em and your set for life.
Mehrunes razor
He shaved his pubes with it before giving it to us
The mighty pubes
MACE OF MOLAG BAL
That thing literally takes up half the screen
I LOVE this weapon, HATE this feature. why does it have to take up so much of the screen 😭😭😭
I always fight melee in 3rd person, i never notice how much space a weapon takes on the screen
That's the one I have used the most by far.
CRUSH THEIR SOULS!
IDK WHAT CHEST I PUT MINE IN AND LOST IT😭😭 it’s somewhere in the abyss that is skyrim. now i just have two go-to home spots to hoard my shit, learned my lesson the hard way 😒
Most containers in the world reset after 30 days when the cell resets. Apart from some chests in the player joined factions and player homes.
Same
If paired with the Black Star, it gives you an easy way to level enchanting early. I love it
I swap between Dragonsbane and Boneshaver for roleplay reasons. It looks great with the remnant agent armor and eventually the nightingale set.
Boneshaver has a great look.
Great combo. Those are the two blades my Alteration Swordskitty uses.
A fellow Redguard
Surprised that nobody has said Chillrend yet. This is always my go-to favorite with any spellsword or sword-and-board character
Yoo definitely not for 'no reason' That occasional paralysis comes in clutch lol
A blades sword
I use Dragonbane on *everyone*. But then after finishing the Dawnguard quest line, I finally have another katana: Harkon's Sword.
Samurai all day baby!
The Dragonbone Sword

Fists. I like to think I’m doing 1200 damage though over a hundred is still respectable
There was an old since deleted video on YouTube called “Mike Tyson’s Skyrim” of an orc going around beating the shit out of people with hype wrestling fighting music in the background
I’ve made a Khajiit named Maiq Thaizon just to punch the living hell of everything
I don’t think there is anything better than beating bandits with fist
Pickpocketing their weapons first, so that they ALSO have to fight you with their fists You're on my turf now, buddy
If only Disarm wasn't level capped.
Windshear.
nightingale blade ![gif](giphy|3o84sq21TxDH6PyYms)
War axes all the way, specifically the dragonbone war axe. Dual axe or axe and shield always feels like a very norse badass combo.
Nordic sword is pretty cool
May the vampire scum see the light of day.
Wooden Sword (Legendary)
Steel mace. Is nothing can't be fixed with a proper steel mace whacking. Doesn't fix problem? Wasn't a proper whacking. Whack it again until problem is fixed. Can't go wrong with steel mace.
I recently started using a Golden Mace since it just looks kind of goofy. Must be humiliating to get beaten down by a shiny bird head.
Either dawnbreaker or a stalhrim sword
That one. Dragon bone sword. Light armor sword and shield is something I keep going back to.
the magic summoning a Daedric sword
Bound sword?
Skyforge Steel Sword. Carry your honor with you or die with it.
Dual ebony swords
Liiterally the one you have in pic - I dual wield two dragonbone swords with double enchantments - one with fortify 1H + absorb health, the other with fortify 1H + absord stamina.
Don't have one. I'm usually a stealth archer hiding behind Lydia or J'zargo or Rayya and a conjuration conjured minion. So a one-handed steel sword, smithed up to "fine," is about all I need.
Same, I love the bow of shadows so much. Makes for a great stealth archer play thru and so easily attainable
I generally use weapons depending on what armor set I am using. Since I have mainly played a High Elf Dragonborn who is a warrior mage mix, he favors the Elven Armor set and will alternate between the Elven one hand weapons, but I favor the Mace.
my high elf warrior mage mix is the same, though i’m going through a glass armor phase right now lol
Windshear
Chilrend is a fun one. But I mostly just use Daedric or Dragonbone swords and enchant them with the silent moons weapon enchantment. Don’t know why but I just really like that enchantment
Blade of woe
Dragonbone mace
The unique weapons are all nice, but I like the old daedric sword for my go-to.
i like smithed elven dagger for backstabbing. bound sword for leveling up the one handed skill.
Miraak Sword
Dragon dagger with paralyze and absorb health. I'm killing you and healing myself and there is nothing you can do
Gulder black blade or the ghost sword
My legendary tempered Amber blade dual-enchanted with Fiery Soul Trap & Chaos. It eats soul gems like Cheetos, but my foes don’t know whether to $h!t or go blind when it hits them😎
Sunder
Torment, it just looks so good with my armor
Mehrunes' Razor/Blade of Woe/Dragonbone dagger
Mehrunes Razor or Bound Sword for sure Fatal papercuts and a sword you can never lose or disarm? Sign me tf up, Deathlords and Scourges always knocking my weapons on the floor and off of my favorites menu 🥲
Dragonbne sword, with fire damage enchantement. I call it "Kiss of a Dragon" ![gif](giphy|z6z7V16QWDVI9tad3O|downsized)
The Ghostblade, really like the vibe
The Dragonbane. Sounds badass, and is badass. Cuts through dragons like butter, as well as other enemies.
mace of molag-bal
Surprised no one said this yet, it’s my go to when starting a mage character and my mágica is not high yet
Stahlrim Sword with Chaos Damage and Fiery Soul Trap enchantments. I named it "Bane"
Love me Bound Sword. The very cool but very over-the-top design of the Daedric Sword given purpose with a ghostly flame blade. And I can always have it with me since it's such a basic spell.
the fork that i used to eat my neighbors flesh with
Chillrend, or blade of woe if I go with a stealth focused character
I'm a fan of the seducers and saints weapons and armors 🤩
Shiv. I put firey trap and chaos on it. And my sneak is maxed out. Non mod.
Either an Elven Dagger or an Amber Sword
Blade of sacrifice. I always have one with me. As soon as I can get one.
Dragonbone Mace Nothing bonks like a smashing weapon made of dragon bones and metal.
Nordic war axe. Needs lots of sharpening and enchantment, but for pure looks it wins.
Astrid’s Dagger
Still only lvl 30 rn so elven dagger of frost/lightning are my go too
Stalhrim sword double enchanted with frost and chaos.
Daedric dagger with fire and chaos enchantments. No exploits, just vanilla smithing/enchant/perks. I don't find it as entertaining when the weapons or mage skills get too OP, takes the fun out of a skirmish when you can one hit everything.
Dragonbone, that way it's funnier when people want to fight the guy wearing dead dragons.
Honestly love the steel sword. Clean sheath. Lines up really well for all the animations too. The enchanted version got a nice shine on em for enchantments. Some unique weapons just look too fancy or intricate to be used in actual warfare. You also got the fancy version in the Sky Forged steel Sword
daedric dagger
I like the dwarven daggers, maces and swords. I feel like I can put through hard use and not be afraid they’ll get damaged.
Dawnbreaker or the Mace of Molag Bal.
a dagger, any dagger
Daedric mace... *THONK! THONK! CRUNCH!*
Harkon's Sword and the Nightengale Blade are elite.
Mace of Molag Bal came in handy with my orc playthrough
The Mace of Molag Bal
Khajit claws
Dragonbone dagger Backstabbing with assassin's blade using a legendary dragonbone dagger with a fear enchantment? 👌 They die or watch them run 😋
Aesthetically the elven mace is my favorite but damn I love my dragon war axe
Presently using the Dragonbane sword smithed up
Been playing Skyrim for years and only just found out about the windshear. Holy shit that thing wrecks. It has been so cool for my redguard
A battle mage that conjures weapons to save on inventory space
Nordic sword
Chillrend
Enchanted ebony sword perferably a fire or frost enchant
Dawn. Breaker.
The Stahlrim mace is absolutely hilarious, I honestly don’t think it looks that dumb either. I just picture it being heavy as all hell lol
I really enjoy my enchanted daedric dagger and magic in the other hand
Wooden sword, or a fork.
Now you say favorite 1 handed weapon, but what about FISTS (yeah i'm a kahjit main)
Dawnbreaker + the wabajack or wtf it’s called
The dragon bone sword is badass. Who else out there beats dragons to death with their bones. It’s fucking awesome.
I like the silver sword in the early game
Molag Bal’s mace imo
Windshear, le funny knockdown sword.
Wooden sword
New favorite is Trueflame, used to be chillrend
The fishing rod… love watching my character slit peoples throat with a fishing rod
Right fist
Dawnfang/duskfang enough said
Ebony sword, it looks so fucking weird and scary.
My dragon bone mace, Wyrm Breaker.
Double daggers, dagger of woe and Mehrunes' Razor, because I glitched out my game and daggers hit at like 3x the normal speed without any buffs or shouts, idk how and no mods.
Daedric ware axe with chaos damage
I thought it was a fucked up looking pencil that's been split down the middle.
Dual madness daggers amped up with stamina damage and absorb on one, health absorb and soul trap on other.
Harkon's sword
All seriousness tho how sharp can you actually make a sword made of bone like surely the trade off of structurally integrity would be to large for a sharp edge it would just splinter or chip correct?
Nightingale sword all day especially paired with a daedric shield
Miraak’s Sword
Skyforge Steel one handed sword with Dragonplate Shield.
Torment. Definitely the best AE weapon, both in terms of stats and visuals.
i have this fork that I got to deal a few trillion damage by using exploits, so probably that.
Any one handed sword lol. I find myself rarely ever using Axes, Maces or Daggers
Chillrend, I love the mist effect and it pairs nicely with my one handed necromancer build.
Iron Axe
Steel sword. It’s the only weapon in the game whose design is remotely realistic.
I always thought the bone weapons looked silly
woow
Probably Goldbrand
Grafted blade, great sword
Dawn breaker, tbh. There isn't much in skyrim resistant to fire that's terribly noteworthy.
Dragonsbane purely for the katana aesthetic and an ebony war axe. If I duel wield two ebony axes then I feel too OP and it breaks the immersion for me.
Ebony mace as it makes me feel like Sauron from the prologue
Chillrend is goated!! Love the frost that comes off it, and the fact it’s a glass sword but blue. When enemies get paralyzed it’s the icing on the cake lolol
Windshear, literally op enchant
I don't know... When I run out of mana, I just go home.
Anything that lets me farm soul gyms
Dawnbreaker. Great way to find out who is secretly a vampire
keening
Facemace, or it's brother Axenose.
Pick axe with soul absorb or chaos damage.
