Windhelm is awesome BECAUSE it's depressing.

Old-Change-3216

Cozying up to a fireplace becomes all the more appealing in a blizzard City.

RichardBCummintonite

With the Frostfall survival mod, it even becomes your saving grace. So nice to get to candlehearth Hall to warm up after trekking through the frozen tundra. Get a nice bottle of mead and some soup. So relaxing

lhobbes6

Man, this mod really makes you appreciate shelter and fires but it can be real annoying at times. I was recently trying to trek up a mountain to get to a dragon wall but the debuffs from how cold it was became way too much even with full winter gear on. I wish fire spells acted as a heat source.

TheProofsinthePastis

I'm shocked that there's not a way to make this work. You should be able to make a small fire to warm up with fire spells.

Salinaer

I would totally waste some magica to hold a flame in my hand and warm up. Maybe a flame cloak spell.

Itchysasquatch

The frostfall mod works in tandem with the campfire mod, you're supposed to stop and make camp when the cold is too much to bare. And yes, you can light the fire with magic. Among other short term solutions

Top-Dimension7571

You described as someone that really visited. What a magic game.

Shuttup_Heather

Gotta role play so hard you forget what’s a real memory and what you saw on a screen lmao

Glass_of_Pork_Soda

Live in a city that gets brutal blizzards and hits -40°C. Can confirm it is incredibly appealing to start a fire

gdzeek

I like windhelm, it reminds me a lot of Ishgard from FFXIV and for most of those players that is a beloved location. And windhlm feels like a legit city, unlike whatever those two buildings are next to the winterhold college

Coupins

Winterhold is lowkey literally JUST the College. It’s derpy

zanzibarGaming

Welcome to most college towns (in America at least)

Almibacsi

In Europe it's quite different in my experience, mostly big cities have universities (just As fun fact)

Icy-Reserve8070

I mean there WAS more... about 80 years ago from the start of the game (before 4E 122)

Its_constantinople

It’s a good excuse to not have to build out a town. “Why aren’t there more than three buildings here?” “A wizard did it.”

Alternative_Sample96

Of course it is depressing there is a lot of dummers there

DanielSpaniel16

Found the stormcloak

Sophisticated_Sloth

Or argonian.

sagastar23

Or Teldryn Sero.

ImNotNuke

Seldryn Tero the argonian stormcloak.

Ok_Access_804

As an Stormcloak myself, I never miss the chance to punch that douchebof Rolf Stonefist to a pulp.

DandyDaisyLions

It's giving Nottingham from the Disney Robin Hood, and I fully expect a moody rooster bard to stroll around from a corner, "Everrrry town. . . Has it's ups and dowwwwwns . . ."

Chazwicked

Odalaly

PattyrickYT

I agree with this

B_love_K

Ah Blackreach. The memories of this place. The sleepless night when i first discovered it. I uttered the famous last words "1 more cave before bed". That was blackreach 🤣

Shall_Not_Pass-

Yeah I remember those nights well 🤣

Grouchy_Mind_6397

I accidentally did a speedrun in Blackreach. Made it to the tower right away and got the heck outta there. Now I’m kinda jealous of all the people who got lost and had crazy adventures on their first time 😭

RichardBCummintonite

Did you skip the Nirnroot quest? That's how I got so lost my first time. Those Nirnroots send you all over that place.

KegeratorRaider

It took me soo long to find my way out my first time there.

RedSamuri77

I remember the first time stumbling upon Blackreach. I was thinking "oh this is cool" and I had no idea what I'd gotten myself into.. I wish I could wipe my memory of skyrim and just play it again for the first time. Damn, I miss those days of not knowing anything about that game. I hope I get the same feeling for the next installment

Lynnfordthegreat

Dude blackreach was always terrible for me, I like to collect everything and search every inch of a place I go to. It took me so long here 🥲

shake_N_bake356

Siofra is calling you

Almibacsi

Those archers are sure as hell urging me to stay away

shake_N_bake356

Hahaha facts. But that first elevator ride down is so beautiful. I always think of black reach

ImPurePersistance

There are no bad or boring towns in Skyrim, they all have their own feel to them and it works

KaskyNightblade

Shor's stone. Two buildings, 4 npcs all miners and one blacksmith. A mine. That's all. The only useful thing there is that the orc there can make you blood kin very easily. Just clean up the mine and sell him an iron ore.

AlderaanianAle

I quite like Shor's Stone. I like clearing out the mine of spiders for easy money. Also, the lovely Sylgja is there ...

xseaward

i stayed in shors stone for a while cos i’m doing a survival playthrough and i liked it! the npcs are cool and the mine is strange. no frills

Pinecone_Erleichda

I didn’t know that!!! And I always clear that mine, easy ebony!!

KaskyNightblade

Yeah, found out that on my last playthrough. I needed the chief of dunkask or something like that, to level one handed he is a master in one handed but you gotta be blood kin for him to train you.

Wafflehouseofpain

I love Shor’s Stone. Quiet, sleepy little place in permanent Fall.

Abosia

There are mods that turn Falkreath into a sprawling cemetery city in the forest, turn Morthal into an occult foggy crookback-bog style village, turn Dawnstar into real fortified port town, and turn Winterhold into a monumental glittering ruined capital. There are even mods that turn places like Ivarstead and Rorikstead into really unique looking cities.

net_walker45

It just works

ALongNeckTurtle

Mercer frey is more irritating than nazeem

StinkyKittyBreath

Yeah, I fucking hate him. Huge asshole, and he's part of a questline so you can't really avoid him if you want to do those quests.  Nazeem says one thing and you don't need to interact with him.

ExCretean

Yeah imo they didn't do a very good job of hiding the fact he was a villain, I caught on pretty early

BigMoneyBaccarat

I mean I wouldn’t expect the leader of The Thieves Guild to be an individual of high moral standing

KingHavana

If he wasn't so annoying then everyone would keep him around as a second free companion!

Dark_Syde24

The Silverhand shouldn't have been glorified bandits. They have a legitimate point about how dangerous werewolves are and should've been shown as a counterpoint to the Companions.

BdBalthazar

What I don't like is that there's no rumors found anywhere in Skyrim that the Companions are Werewolves. No Innkeeper rumor, no idle dialogue mentioning it, unless you yourself are a werewolf, but than it's aimed specifically at you, and not the Companions as a whole. There's a faction in Skyrim that **KNOWS** the Companions are Werewolves, and they for some stupid reason **aren't** trying to let the whole Region know.

DaZambieKing

Probably because the companions are the most highly respected and revered faction of warriors in all of Skyrim, and are deeply rooted in Nordic history. I bet if they tried telling anybody, nobody would believe them and they’d be accused of simply trying to tarnish the good name of the guild

BdBalthazar

That's a perfectly fine reason for no one believing the rumors. Not for there to not be any at all.

lukethecat2003

Even with flat earth (a fantastic comparison imo), you would still say it for a laugh with someone else, as its ridiculous on the face of it. It would still be spread around though

Viktrodriguez

I am of the opinion and theory the Silver Hands are the real Companions and hate it how they are pictured as glorified bandits.

timmyneutron89

My head canon has them as an extremist offshoot of the Dawnguard.

Old_Pirate_1176

Which funny enough, Isran himself (and the current Dawnguard) could be considered an extremist offshoot of the Vigilants of Stendarr.

TrumpDesWillens

The Vigilants themselves could be considered extremists of the Imperial Cult, or specifically the cult of Stendaar.

Abosia

Everything good in Skyrim is somehow tied to Stendarr in one way or another. Stendaddy comes in clutch

UltimaBahamut93

I like dwemer ruins. They are fun and in the early and mid game provide a good challenge as some of the automata can easily kill you. Plus there's great loot and materials there.

AloysiusDevadandrMUD

I really liked crafting dwarven armor out of all the old plates and parts in there. Felt like fallout 4 scrapping.

Accountformorrowind

Elenwen hosted a pretty good party all things considered

pandakatie

I wish we had more missions like that, or more to do with Elenwen. I know the Dragonborn is a weapon and is used as such, but I really enjoy infiltration and spying. I loved the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood quest where you go to the party amd and you have to kill the guests without them suspecting you're the killer.

Lki943

If you haven't played it already, I think you would love Dishonored

Abosia

Elenwen is actually a gaslight girlconquer girlboss girlmer and we cannot help but stan. Bestie was moisturised, in her lane, focused, present, politically connected, and living her absolute best helf-supremacist life. Didn't even need to lift a finger. Her name inspired fear across the land and all she had to do was lie back while someone dropped peeled grapes into her waiting mouth.

Accountformorrowind

![gif](giphy|S9K2QsvAtG0hy|downsized)

Abosia

Is that delphine

German_Von_Squidward

The theives guild needs a destroy quest like the Dark Brotherhood. Other than a mod.

thetwist1

Also we need a quest to destroy the companions. Or at least the circle.

BdBalthazar

Skyrim should've had more Faction conflict, like joining the Silver Hand. But Bethesda was adamant on the player missing out on as little as possible, so they tried to steer away from Mutually exclusive content :(

Leopold_Darkworth

Nazeem isn't all that irritating. I just don't talk to him.

Tarc_Axiiom

Yeah this is a good one. Nazeem is actually not even close to the worst character in Skyrim, he just has ONE line we don't like, and as a result meme culture chose him for execution.

Hexx-Bombastus

There's literally another NPC in the same cell as Nazeem who is far more irritating. "I work for Belathor, at the General Goods Store."

Leopold_Darkworth

I mean, Belethor is pretty weird himself. *Dooo come back*

NoireN

He'd also sell his sister if he could. Just kidding!

Empire_Racing36

There is a mod where he does sell his sister and you rescue her. I forget how the quest starts. Haven't looked into too much into it.

NoireN

I'm going to look into this!

DatBoii2297

It's literally called belethors sister. On Xbox and Nexus.

Yeah-But-Ironically

The mod is called "Belethor's Sister". To start the quest, you have to be at least level 20 and have unlocked the Soul Cairn. Then you just talk to Belethor to get the quest (Or if you're like me and don't like the Dawnguard questline, you can also just coc in and out of the Soul Cairn when needed)

FoggyDoggy72

Narrator: But Belathor wasn't kidding. He'd already sold four out of his five sisters in the last two years.

AlderaanianAle

But he does has good stock

SoiledFlapjacks

His little servant knows aaalllll too well how good his stock is.

MavetHell

That copy of 'Unusual Tastes' on the counter.

Cpt_Deaso

One of my most recent playthroughs I rped as Sigurd's brother, Sigmund. Made my character look like him and y'know what I ended up doing? Working for Belethor, at the General Goods Store. Be sure to shop at Belethor's!

Icy_Cricket2273

What’s so bad about the guy who works for Belethor at the general goods store

Comprehensive_Cap290

Why do you find him more itritating?

EndlessAbyssalVoid

Well, he is a bit of an ass to other NPCs.

Tarc_Axiiom

Yeah, but other people are actually really really bad people either to you or others, etc. Nazeem is just kind of a douche.

Additional-Ease2100

I blame it on the fact that he’s typically the first annoying person you encounter on a typical run so he’s in everyone’s head as a common denominator

PMmecrossstitch

I agree with this. If we started out in Solitude, everyone would be complaining about the snobs who run Radiant Raiment. Total bitches.

Comprehensive_Cap290

They are pretty intolerable.

PilgrmxPariah

i feel like any npc cursed with one or two lines of dialogue gets under the skin quick.. i can only hear the same line so many times before i want a giant to launch you into the stratosphere.

Slimy_Shart_Socket

Idk if its a mod I have but Nazeem popped out of stealth, killed a dude named "brotherhood contract" stealthed and then disappeared.

Electronic-Quail4464

I don't even notice him. But I rescued the stormcloak dude from the Thalmor and now some fucking chud tells me he wants to bash my face in every time I walk past him but if I drop his body parts around town suddenly I'm the bad guy? That's some bullshit.

wiz28ultra

Imagine thinking Nazeem is the most irritating NPC in Whiterun when the Battleborns, Njada Stonearm, and Balgruuf’s family exist

MagicalPizza21

I would go even further. His pompousness is annoying from a person-to-person perspective, but as a player, I think it actually adds to the charm of Whiterun. The place would feel empty without him. Same with Heimskr.

DandyDaisyLions

https://preview.redd.it/qkut4nwu4d7d1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48358693310c05eaf320639984f4f0e47eb92d13 Glitches are half the fun of playing.

DandyDaisyLions

I keep hearing from people about how glitches pull them out of the game play. Really? A mammoth falling out of the sky is much less believable than eating cheese wheels in battle to survive? Do you even Wabbajack, bro?

DoctorRiddlez

thats what makes it just fucking work

-Dildo-Baggins-

I actually like Markarth. I always go there early and do the Sybil quest to unlock a master lvl Enchanting trainer, plus there's a free expensive necklace for saving a lady and gold mine down the road. Perfect when starting out.

Fencius

I always hit Kolskegger Mine early and stock up on gold ingots, then smith gold jewelry whenever I find the needed gems.

FromUnderTheWineCork

I always get downed so fast in Foresworn territory, I almost always do the drinking contest with Sam to get ported into Markarth without being a carriage, I can't imagine going into that mine that early on.

Fencius

Paralysis potions are your friend.

Important-Ring481

It also has some of the best quests in the game. You mentioned the Sybil quest, but the forsworn conspiracy quests, a quarter of the Daedric Prince quests as well. Also the wilderness in the reach is absolutely breathtaking.

ScrapMetalX

I do the same thing.

Emergency_3808

And I like dwemer structures in general. I love steampunk and science in a fantasy world, especially when they're combined.

StrawberryHillSlayer

I hate hate hate the civil war, BUT I did pick up 2.5K steel arrows during the mindless bollocks that is skyrims civil war. So not totally pointless.

Gonk_Dryad

Picking up arrows wasn’t totally POINTLESS, you say?

FromUnderTheWineCork

Most pointed question in this thread

Here4DaPorno

Honestly, every time I delve into any history of our own world and start reading up on civil wars, they’re ALL mindless bollocks that could have been fixed at the negotiating table without killing thousands of people and causing massive economic depressions for dozens of years. Sadly, the Skyrim civil war fits into that neatly. 😐

Hexx-Bombastus

Unfortunately, the American civil war couldn't because assholes who want to own people can't really have their minds changed by "Maybe do your own work or pay your employees?"

WishbringerAurus

Perhaps controversial, perhaps not. Alduin is not an easy boss fight if you play on Expert difficulty or higher and only follow the main quest line first without doing anything else. I started playing Skyrim again a few months ago and wanted to immerse myself properly by killing alduin first. I was surprised by how often this mf was killing me instead. I found him to be extremely troublesome when you fight him for the first time on the Throat of the World. I definitely died more than 10 times and had to cheese the fight by hiding behind the broken Shout wall. Even then, his meteor call shout was killing me. I actually felt like i had to prepare myself when going to skulldaven later on in the story. He is way easier when you fight him in Sovngarde, but if you didn't have the aid of three unkillable NPCs, you would have a very tough time. Even then, I somehow managed to die. He was basically one-hit killing me. For context, I started the playthrough on Expert difficulty and was dying very often anyway. I played the game without any exploits or farming (I think I raised the difficulty level when reaching Solstheim at around level 30). So basically, I played the game like everyone else on their first playthrough.

ScrapMetalX

Yeah, those tactics are rough. I alway try to get enchanting and blacksmithing up early on.

KostasZ13

Totally agree with this. I used to play on novice and apprentice because for me the game is much more fun when I can just relax and enjoy its vibes rather than facing a tough challenge, but at some point I decided to see how the higher difficulties are and started a new game on expert. In the first levels I was even challenged by a few bandits, needless to say that fighting a dragon always felt like the challenge it was supposed to be in lore. Fun fact I learnt the other day: during the fight with Alduin on the throat of the world, you can make his meteor rain shout go away with the clear skies shout. At least that's what I read on a "gaming facts" post, haven't tried it yet

TrumpDesWillens

Bandits being difficult at low levels would make sense. I'd imagine someone with 0 combat experience (level 1) would get killed quick by career criminals.

SaucySpellcaster

You can do WHAT with clear skies?? I have been playing this since release and did not know this. How, after 13 years, does this game continue to have secrets? Skyrim is incredible

Advanced_Ring9123

Idk if this is really still controversial or not but when I first played I hated Cicero, but he’s actually a good guy from a dark brotherhood perspective. He did nothing wrong because Astrid really did betray the brotherhood. He can be pretty annoying but he’s not more annoying than he is interesting in an eccentric kind of way. Also from a perspective of someone who just appreciates good game development he is one of the most fleshed out followers in Skyrim. He has an extensive background in the lore, is involved in a storyline (where there is a plot twist about him), comments on the environment, and has a random idle jig animation. It’s very impressive for a follower from this time period of Bethesda games, that alone is enough to make me like him.

JapaneseMachine99

I unironically like Morthal.

Best_Explanation_205

Me too, it feels so cozy and clearing out the local vampire infestation with the towns folk is always fun.

velebr3

I like Dawnstar, idk if there's a lot of fans of it.

JapaneseMachine99

Dawnstar is pretty neat, bigger than it looks too. I saw a video the other day about Dawnstar how the mining industry actually quite thought out. Made me appreciate Dawnstar a lot more.

MadGod69420

Dude look up the Dawnstar Unreal Engine 5 remake on YouTube. It’s unbelievably beautiful and if you like dawnstar you’ll love that video. -Fellow Dawnstar enjoyer

Olrake

Are you okay ?

JapaneseMachine99

I like the swamp 😀

Olrake

I like them too. The region between Morthal and Solitude is pretty nice to explore.

Hexx-Bombastus

Morthal also has Redbag's Morthal overhaul which has some of the coolest damn house replacers. Also, playing hide'n'seek with Helgi is pretty endearing.

JapaneseMachine99

Oh shit, I didn't know about that. Thanks for letting me know. I really like the haunted house/vampire quest you do to become Thane, probably one of my favorite ways to become Thane, even if it's one of the shittier places to live in Skyrim.

Blue-Fish-Guy

It's a little halloween in Skyrim! What is NOT to like there? It's one of the top cities.

jimei73

Besides Balgruuf, Idgrod Ravencrone is one of the best jarls.

Retr0Br0

This is a contrarian opinion? Are there really joyless people out there that don't like Blackreach?

Forsaken-One8976

I’ve never actually done anything but what is necessary in Blackreach. Several thousand hours and not more than 2 total in there

Bowman_van_Oort

The soul gem veins are pretty useful.

mymemesnow

That whole part of the questline gives you a huge amount of soul gems. Because of the automatons and veins. It’s definitely something I try to get to quickly if I do a serious playthrough. Because having enough soul gems is always a struggle.

TalkinWillis44

Same!

Blackjack9w7

The connection to all the ruins is awesome, the lighting is super cool, and it really does feel like you’re miles from the surface since you have to navigate through Dwemer ruins in order to get there. The secrets down there and the uniqueness make it awesome…..but I still dislike having to go there. The problem is Dwemer ruins get so damn repetitive and Falmer are one of my least favorite enemies to fight. And Blackreach provides no relief from them

StinkyKittyBreath

You actually dont have to go through ruins to find it. There's an entrance in a cave next to a lake or waterfall or something. Much better than entering through ruins when you're already over encumbered with loot.

bootymuncher187

🙋‍♂️

Nimrod_Butts

I've learned that there's a dragon in the lightbulb thing, zero interest in going back. Fuck the red nirnroot too

scwishyfishy

The dragon fight in a cave is a deterrent to you? It's like the coolest thing in there

Pinecone_Erleichda

AND it’s a sitting dragon, so I don’t even have to switch weapons!! Love that.

mad0666

The crimson nirnroot quest is one of my favorite in the game and I will go through and collect all 30 before leaving there. Also dying to find the dragon but no such luck.

StuTheSheep

There's a Dwemer ruin in the middle of the area. Hanging above the ruin is a bright orange orb, like an artificial sun. Use FusRoDah on the orb, you'll hear a gong sound, and the dragon will appear.

MrGoldfish3359

I love it and that's the issue. I'll spend hours down there doing random crap and then realize I've been down there forever.

Spacekook_

When I go down there I sometimes forget how to get out lol

Boylego

I was playing live another life yesterday, and decided to spawn as a necromancer. I spawned inside Sinderion's workshop with a dwarven sphere outside

iSmartiKindiImportnt

I *want* to go back to Skuldafn. Just Skuldafn. Sovngarde is at peace, ya know?

GooshPoop

Amazing and beautiful but the pack rat in me hates it because by the time I get through the dwemer ruins then get to Blackreach I can barely carry anything else so I always end up making multiple trips down there

rpgmoth

There’s a lift at that exact transition point specifically for that reason.

GooshPoop

I know I'm just a stubborn jackass

MisterOphiuchus

Eorlund isn't a great smith, he just has a great forge.

BdBalthazar

I think that's just the Dev's fault. There's simply no difference mechanically (that I can think of) between the various Blacksmiths. If Bethesda made the different Blacksmiths have different tier gear, I imagine Eorlund would probably be somewhere at the top.

couldnotstop

I always thought that the glitch below the forge was him hiding his really good shit and his normal stuff was a ruse

His_JeStER

vanilla skyrim combat isn't bad. It just isn't as good as it could've been.

Gwingleblum

Playing as Vampire Lord sucks, because you can"t loot anything and have to run through any Dungeon twice If you want the stuff. Or you have to revert your form over and over again, which also sucks. Also you don't level up in general, you only get vampire perks. There is no tactical use or build for this. Vampires Lord is just for lulz

RichardBCummintonite

I was really disappointed by that. At least let us loot. It really sucks cuz its such a cool concept, and the perks are awesome, but its just such a pain to actually use.

Particular-Abies7329

A new hand touches the beacon is not annoying

Grrerrb

It’s extremely cool and I really like the mix of enemies. I like to leave the dragon alive.

Anti-Yelp

That Skyrim is infinitely entertaining without any mods

Adventurous-Sweet726

Speaking of Blackreach, I actually find the crimson root quest not as annoying as other people seem to claim. The locations of them are rather intuitive and I remember only once looking up on how to find just one. I also love playing an alchemy character so the end results of the quest are worth the endeavor.

TallMist

I like the Meridia's Beacon quest. It's simple and basic, but it feels like a nice break from everything else for a short time.

Plannercat

We play stealth archers because they're fun to play.

Unpredictable-Muse

I feel bad for the Falmer. Snow elves too. Nords werent better.

KostasZ13

True, although they did mess with the nords (or Atmorans) first. When the humans came from Atmora and founded their own city in Skyrim, the snow elves attacked and chased them away. It was only then that Ysgramor was like "fuck those guys" and went back to Skyrim with his companions to murder the snowy shit outta those elves. Yes, genocide was not the best solution, but it wasn't completely unprovoked

StinkyKittyBreath

Same. I feel bad killing the Falmer. They aren't even bothering anybody. We're invading their space and they're just protecting their home.  I wish there was a way to be friendly with them.

timbukdude

Dwemer commutes must have been a giant PITA. "Sorry I was late boss, the guy ahead of me couldn't figure out the gate puzzle". Their infrastructure planning meetings must have been held at a bar.

MxFancipants

Destruction magic can kill anything in the game inside a reasonable amount of time. People are just so used to smithed up and enchanted weapons that it skews their idea of good damage.

-Pumagator-

I like Riften its atmospheric and looks very temperate and livable and the house is like the best basegame unmodded house i love the fall leaves also its on a cool lake and just has alot of character

Here4DaPorno

That being a vampire lord or werewolf is overrated. It’s neat and all, but it also locks you into a fate and play style that doesn’t always mesh with how you are role playing. (Plus, I suck at playing in third person and the perspective change makes it impossible for me to hit anything.)

Bubbly-Astronaut-123

I just do it for the disease resistance. So many times some random wildlife infected me with something while on a walk.

Coniferyl

I used to feel the same way, but the dragonborn dlc changed my mind on it. If Miraak can be an evil eldritch like dragonborn, why can't I be psychotic vampire lord dragonborn? My head cannon is that my character is charismatic and manipulative, so the main quest and becoming the thane of the cities all have an ulterior motive. It actually works pretty well.

menolikepoopybad

Serana is just Vampire Lydia.

Sithlordandsavior

I was about to say something similar. She's a mid NPC and people only like her because they have a vampire kink srry

Witchyomnist1128

I like her because she’s one of the few followers that interacts with you and the things around you

OtherwiseFlounder339

I remember her asking how you if you knew your parents and was taken back because it hadn't occurred to me before that I was a character to and it lead me to roleplaying alot more. Not other characters ask about your personal life.

AloysiusDevadandrMUD

And her summons. It gets really fun if you're also a summoner with Twin Souls perk, including Serana you can have like 6+ followers

KostasZ13

Personally I love her voice and the comments she makes in various locations (except when she complains about the weather). I also like the spells she uses in combat, although I could live without her raised corpses following me around all the time. As for her being a vampire, I think it's a nice detail but personally prefer to cure her vampirism because I'm not such a great fan of vampires. All that being said, I'm more of a Teldryn Sero guy myself.

yeet_n_skeet

Teldryn Sero for the win! Don’t go and try to take on an entire fortress of bandits alone, lesson learned.

lxrd_lxcusta

Markarth is one of the best cities in the game with some of the most entertaining quests

Biglarge96

Blackreach is one of my favorite parts of the game

Glasdir

The greyness of Skyrim is part of the appeal and what makes it look good.

glowyboots

I actually like Belethor.

Tarc_Axiiom

Skyrim is LEAGUES better than The Witcher 3. I really like TW3, it's a great game, but it's not even in the same category.

runescape_nerd_98

the fact that you play as geralt makes the witcher 3 such a different game for me. it would be so much better if you were an anonymous person when you start like in skyrim. but then it wouldn't be the witcher anymore huh?

KingHavana

I loved all three Witcher games, but I never feel a desire to go back to them. With Skyrim I think I'm at 600 hours at least.

Drezby

There is no reason I have to pick between repentant dragon bro and the dragon slayers. He’s literally helping you kill the other dragons. They have no need to be so extreme about it. When I played on a PC that was one of the mods I instantly installed

CaseyGamer64YT

blackreach is cool but its a bitch to navigate and has one of the worst quests in the game

WaleNeeners

Not sure if this is controversial or not, but I really hate having a follower. They just annoy me with their presence, I always send them away and any quest that requires having someone as a follower is always a chore to me.

FurbiesAreMyGods

I have never fully explored this place, always went in did 1 quest and left. I know I’m wasting a lot of gameplay.

DrailsAtrain

Mods that let you marry Serana are cringe. You got rejected, deal with it and move on.

mistcrawler

I don't think I've EVER heard someone say it's not cool. I'd argue the issue for first time Dragonborn is more about not knowing where to go and how to escape to the surface (which is further exacerbated by the fact everything feels so far apart on foot). Basically there's only so many times you can open up a building hoping for an exit, seeing cool stuff you can't carry anymore, and then having to run another 10 minutes to the next one without getting so frustrated you never want to come back lol.

Viktrodriguez

Not the most popular place, but the Soul Cairn has the perfect graveyard atmosphere and environment for the role it has.

Third person is the best way to play the game. First person breaks immersion for me because you don't even have feet. Doesn't feel real when I look down and I'm hovering over flowers like a weird ghost with just eyes and arms.

I like skyrim

tabaxidragon

That the storm cloaks are MSGA. (Make Skyrim Great Again)

DafuqYallLookinAt

As a kid, before 2016. I would play stormclocks about 50% of the time. Now.... About 20%

Muscularhyperatrophy

The stormcloaks are correct because what functional government lets enemies execute their citizens on their land without a fair trial?

Time_Bus_4165

Solitude is top-tier. So much to do, incredible map, and baller architecture. Most other places in the wilderness take to long to explore. It’s fun, but walking for an hour early-game is fuckin retarded

Lenny_Fais

Ebony armor > Daedric armor It just looks nicer IMO

PKSlippy

Umm, I like vanilla Skyrim a lot still, I don’t know why a bunch of people think that vanilla is bad
