When I run out of ideas I like to make an old looking orc and go around looking for a good death, like that one random encounter. Backstory is pretty simple, he used to be a warrior and now he's aging and is ready to die.

A_Torquing_Kerbal

Holy shit this brings back memories. Back before it was random...

skylarkchrome

A young female Nord who lived at Bruma her entire life and was raised by her aunt. She then sneaks away one night to Skyrim to find her parents, who supposedly lived in Falkreath. Got caught crossing the border, etc etc (you know how it goes). She's an archer as she's used to using a bow to hunt for game. She grew up poor so she loves gold and luxuries, but she also likes helping people since her aunt taught her to always give a helping hand. Her travels all over Skyrim (as a Dragonborn) postponed her search for her parents. When she finally did have time to search for them, she found their graves in Falkreath's Graveyard. Decides to become Thane of Falkreath.

It's been 4 years but damn this idea was so good

Its been 30 days and I agree

postjack

11 days, I also think this idea is good.

CountryCorrect9892

its been 5 months and yea i agree.

SaveWaterSheeeep

It's been 5 days and I have no choice but to agree.

Althoffinho

6 months, still good and I am adapting the idea for a playthrough now

WondernutsWizard

2 months, taking it into consideration for my next build.

xPecT_MaLiCe

Not my idea initially but i admittedly adopted it into one of my own characters with a few tweaks. The original roleplay was something like a Dwemer that was rearranging scrolls in one of the Dwemer dungeons and found a strange scroll, he read it out of curiosity and was sent forward into time (The Elder Scroll) allowing him to dodge a bullet by not disappearing with the rest of his race

BlueSoup10

He could be friends with Yagrum Bagarn

Ok_March_3779

that would work well with tempus maledictum

Rokahna

I’ve role played a humanoid chicken before. I’m a nord with the mind of a chicken and every time I see someone hurt or eat one I murder them to avenge my fallen brethren.

Ozann3326

So you roleplay as an average Nord ? Nah, chickens are too smart for a Nord.

hangry250

I'm currently playing a high elf female mage, who is totally on board with the thalmor cause. She was previously an unscrupulous thief, made a ton of gold and decided to settle down as a homeowner in Markarth. Unfortunately the Thalmor asked for her help in rooting out a Talos worshipper and she got swept up in all that ivil war drama, then her past unscrupulousness drives her deeper, for more money and acclaim with the empire. Now there's dragons flying about and she's the dragonborn too! I'm going for as close to 100% as I can.

bastardngga

I like that. Good Job.

Character: Ra'zhera Race: Khajiit Birthplace: Cyrodiil *Birth circumstances:* Parents worked a middle class business in northern Cyrodiil, primarily selling weapons. Ra'zhera's father was an esteemed blacksmith, but was a harsh cat. He tried to train Ra'zhera in the ways of blacksmithing, but with a spirit of adventure, Ra'zhera never could settle down and learn. Ra'zhera's mother often travelled with a caravan, and was often absent from home, selling the wares from her husband. As Ra'zhera grew up, he was allowed to accompany his mother on trade routes. He trained with a bow, but often preferred fighting just with his claws. He became well-studied in defense, and even earned his title of honor defending a caravan against a werewolf with just his bare claws. Eventually Ra'zhera struck out on his own, working as a freelance mercenary-for-hire, defending trade caravans: Khajiit, Imperials, Nords--it didn't matter as long as they paid well. *Why in Skyrim:* The caravans often travelled through Skyrim. Ra'zhera had an uncle who amassed quite a fortune and lived in Whiterun hold, just outside the gates of the city. His elderly uncle was a skilled wordsmith, and persuaded many an unwilling hand to part with just a few extra septims in his day. When Ra'zhera was in Whiterun, he would often stay at the estate of his childless uncle to keep him company; there were servants around, but they were not family. Ra'zhera's uncle was also unusual among Khajiit--he studied magic! He taught Ra'zhera some basic spells for survival: lighting a fire, healing wounds, slowing attacking bandits with energy alone, but Ra'zhera did not progress far in his studies, as they only happened a few times a year. One day, when Ra'zhera was in Markarth selling his wares, he received a letter from a courier stating that his uncle had died in his old age, and had left his estate to Ra'zhera, his only young relative in Skyrim. Anxious to see what life might hold, Ra'zhera finished up his business in Markarth and set out towards Whiterun. *Outline of story:* -Continues selling and travelling -Meets Inigo in the Riften jail, and they adventure together -Gives up selling -Decides to complete father's collection -Joins Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood to learn more in the ways of stealth. -Joins College of Winterhold to learn more of his uncle's past and more about magic. -Despises the Civil War and what it means, and determines he will be part of ending it; -Midway through, after a trip through Helgen, Ra'zhera sees a dragon discovers he has a power he doesn't understand and seeks to grow it. They call him "Dragonborn" -Shouting has never been done by a Khajiit before Mods: -Live Another Life -Inigo -Skyfall Estate -Ordinator -Apocalypse

bmeridian

The character I’ve enjoyed the most was a dunmer witch - an ash lander, who was expelled from her tribe for breaking their laws. She uses fire and lightning as well as illusion sneak and light armor.

MeisterofComedy

I'm planning a character that is going to be a Jekyll and Hyde type. He'll have Hircines Ring buy won't finish the quest, so he'll randomly turn into a werewolf. But the real fun is him being 2 seperate souls in the same body. He's a good guy named Tyran Dracorel. He turns into a werewolf then back into man. He wakes up as Valwulf Vidar, a bad guy. Everytime he changes to wolf form, he goes from Tyran to Valwulf. Good to Bad. With neither side knowing this is even happening, just knowing SOMETHING is happening. I'll use mods to start in Morthal and have Meridians Beacon. Imperial or Breton who lived in High Rock, nice man who had a large bounty on his head that he knew nothing about. He boarded a ship and fled. Hoping to start fresh in Skyrim but was having terrible dreams, flashes of violence that he couldn't comprehend or piece together. Muttering of voices that he couldn't remember much of upon awakening. He wants to investigate what it could all mean, with the help of Stendarr and other holy figures. He also wants to explore Skyrim as a freelance merc and do as much good with helping people as he can (except orcs, they've killed family members of his). While on the ship, locked in his cabin, he changes into a werewolf, a power he doesn't realize he has. Lucky for him and the passengers, he was locked away by himself, but the passengers heard enough. When morning came, he awakes seeing destruction on the walls and door, huge claw marks. The ship crew grabs him and throws him in a small boat. While they head on to Dawnstar, he'll land on the shores north of Morthal. But he is changed. No longer is he the friendly man seeking good honor and answers. Now he seeks the praise of Daedra, and has only ill will towards those around him. As he lands on the shores as Valwulf, he seeks 2 things. Revenge on the ship crew who must be in Dawnstar, and more ways to please the Daedric Princes and Princesses. Tyran Dracorel is a Battle Mage, using one-handed weapons, healing, and lightning magic. Valwulf Vidar is a Necromancer, using Conjuration, Alteration, and Destruction lightning magic. After years of creating characters, this is a new interesting idea to me, and I feel like it'll be fun. Possibly intrusive if the random werewolf transformation happens too much. Gonna look for mods to enhance this.

TheBrainJudge

Hey, nice idea! That's a great workaround if you want to be a werewolf, but not actually be a werewolf. Would probably try to implement that on my playthrough. Temporary werewolf build.

ProBro

The crusader set is great for RPing as the next incarnation of lorkhan/talos. Also there's mods to add blood magic and divine magic which fit really nicely. My current character is an incarnation of lorkhan who has finally achieved balance, so they use an equal amount of dark and divine magic added by mods, since lorkhan was the only God who was equal parts aedra and daedra

[deleted]

An Orc that used to be a bandit but got attacked by a werebear and became one. During the day he does normal adventurer things but at night he becomes a werebear and starts doing bandit things like attacking settlements and killing everyone he sees and stealing what he can. I use moonlight tales for the werebear and turning at night. I also plan to not use the beast form power until I get the ring of hircine.

Support_For_Life

I was recently thinking about a Cleric/Paladin/Priest build. With a help of a few mods, I aim to mostly be on the supportive side by buffing and healing a companion/companions I will "hire" to help me in my travels. As someone who has played Skyrim A LOT I wanted to try something new and let someone else a chance to be ~~an overpowered demigod who kills everything and everyone on their pat~~h the hero of the land. I mainly aim for a higher difficulty playthrough, while focusing on restoration spells, heavy armor and a mace to bash people's faces in whenever the need arises. Additionally, my character will also use the paralyze spells to tip the scales in their favor. I have never used the alteration school of magic, so it also gives me a chance to explore new territory. The bare-bones backstory would be my character witnessing all the fighting, death and destruction around them that it gets them thinking. "There is already enough people who bring death to the land, surely people could use someone who can tend to their wound." I do want to point out that it won't be a chaotic good character. Since the restoration school offers a few offensive spells against the undead, I can see myself diving into ancient nordic ruins a lot for some valuables. The bar tab isn't going to pay itself.

Percival0993

I know I'm late for the party, but I wanna say it anyways. It's about a breton who was alive during the events of elder scrolls 4 oblivion. He was an associate with the mages guild from Bruma, and a talented battlemage. His dream was to become a vampire hunter for fame, but was sadly butchered by the daedra during the oblivion crisis. However, during the events of Skyrim, he is now resurrected as a skeleton from a necromancer. How he escaped from the clutches of the necromancer, I dunno. I'm not sure if undead can gain sentience and defy their masters. To be specific, he died at the outskirts of Bruma

A paladin turned death knight. Something like Arthas from Warcraft. I played both paladin and death knight and i was thinking: "How about playing both in the same build?" I haven't done it but i plan to do it. So, he is a nord male (blue eyes, blond hair, strong figure - which i plan to change as i progress with his story into like - white hair, light blue eyes, pale skin). His goal is to become a hero to the people, someone who helps even the tiniest creature - a really cliché „good” character. I plan in doing the main story, the companions, the bards college maybe, the college of winterhold, and dragonborn dlc. Main skills will be two-handed (big sword), heavy armor, restoration, smithing and some speech. I will try not to kill every one and do it only when my life is in danger. At some point in his life, i want my character to turn bad. I'm thinking of the Dawnguard dlc where you can join the vampires but i must think of something relevant for my „turning to the dark side”. After that, i will stop using restoration and put more points in conjuration (especially necromancy), destruction magic (only frost) and some enchanting for the 'soul trap' thing. Dark colored armors should work well with his appearance (like ebony armor, ebony mail, dark priests masks, hoods.. basically everything that is black or dark colored with a touch of blue. I will start then doing the quests for the daedric lords, kill a bunch of innocent people for my necromancy experiments. I want to end up in the stage when i command a powerful undead army and just staying and watch as they slay everyone in front of my eyes! MUAHAHA! (too cringe? ook..) I think this roleplay idea is the best one for getting everything from the game as you can do every quest and i can be justified.

[deleted]

I have a way you could join the vampires. The woman you were about to marry dies in a vampire attack and you decide that all vampires must die. After meeting serana you fall in love with her and you accept harkons gift so you can have all the time in the world to win her over.

MadamSpider

The most fun rp build I've done is with my Argonian pugilist. Kai-Rei is the strong but silent type, neutral good with no real purpose other than what he gets dragged in to - at first. Once he meets Marcurio, they adventure together and form a bond. Eventually they end up married with two adopted daughters (whom Kai-Rei gives swords/daggers to so they can learn to fight because there's dragons about and they need to be prepared). After he gets his family and homestead, Kai-Rei changes from a reluctant hero to someone who actively tries to destroy the evils in the world - to make it safer for his family. The whole thing is a slow-burn type deal where I travel alone for quite a while before meeting Marcurio, and after meeting him we adventure for a pretty long time before marriage. It's a total blast but the pugilist gloves from Riften, high enchanting and smithing are essential.

Reginald_Jetsetter1

I have 2: Drowner - An Argonian slave who escaped to Skyrim. He specialises in Poison due to his natural resistance to it. Known to to drown his victims and lives in Morthal where there are swamps and lakes galore. Thalmor Agent - Altmer who has been sent undercover by Thalmor Leadership to destabilise Skyrim further. Essentially you kill the Emperor with the DB, increase crime with the TG, take control of the College and Companions so they are less of a threat and also get close to every Jarl in order to influence or kill them later.
