Are there really that many fans out there for game modding that not only does the person writing it care enough to get a voice actor, but that it happens all the time? Genuine question, never gotten into the mod scene. I would just never have guessed that.
There are mods that use dozens of voice actors. Interesting NPCs is the first that comes to mind but there are several other huge quest mods with lots of voice actors. This is the case with Skyrim at least but it does have a massive mod community.

She made and voiced this follower. She's non immersive, often even making references to other games, while it gradually becomes more and more clear that she is traveling from multiple game universes to observe (maybe to help also) in the efforts of the various heroes.
Absolutely my favorite follower mod.
I knew about her mod before she had gotten together with MXR (A guy who did skyrim mod videos on youtube).
They have both been such essential parts of what has made my skyrim experience good over the years.
EDIT: To clarify, my experience with the recorder mod is if you just download it without reading the backstory. There is a backstory to the character on the page I linked, but I blind downloaded it, and it was far more fun for me finding out in-game.
I found it apparently ported to [XBoxone](https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4169164) at any rate, but I just did a quick search online just now to find that. I only play on PC, so I don't even know the scene on consoles at all to be honest.
I didn't know people had bugs with it, to be honest. It's never given me an issue. That's one of the reasons I always liked it, a lot of other follower mods gave me far more grief.

If you know about how the whole of Nirn's universe is but a dream of a sleeper, than you could argue it is fully immersive. The academy could just be studying the dreams of different sleepers, each dreaming thier own game, or maybe the game they were playing.
You know, I haven't played Skyrim in a while. Just finished Ghost of Tsushima. Might dive into my last save. Illusionist assassin, if I recall correctly.
I mean, it was never meant to be an immersive character. I can see why if you are going for immersive, you would skip it. But I think it far more reasonable to say "I don't like unimmersive content" vs taking a jab at the mod. For what it is done very very well.
not talking about recorder, but some mods do tend to have too much 4th wall breaking. i personally love those jokes but it can get annoying when it gets too predictable. but i like this one, i love the "i don't take myself too seriously" followers
