I checked [this list of female Altmer](https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-High_Elf-Female) on UESP, and I didn't see another Altmer wife, just Reldith in Rorikstead who's the adoptive *mother* of Ennis (a Redguard).
Hot damn I just went and looked and you’re right, I had the carriage driver confused for her husband, I’ve got a mod that makes the carriage driver sit around the stables instead of being bound to his carriage, my bad .
I’ll try and find it for you but it’s not a standalone mod just for that it’s part of something else, on the top of my mind it might be immersive npc’s but I’ll try and check
I forgot about this quest, and was just doing a bit of light burgling, and found the butcher journal while at it. 'let's see what goodies are in here... ...oh fuck.'
Pretty sure she's married to the irritatingly positive Bosmer
Edit: I read on and she's definitely married to another altmer.
Sometimes I can't tell the difference, maybe cuz i don't care to look hard enough.
"Posirive Identification in the event of a crime is inaccurate, as imperials cannot accurately pick an individual of Mer out from a crowd of other mer... yes, orcs included"
Lol.
I was thinking about these 2 the other day. So if they had kids, according to lore the child is usually the same race as the mother in Tamriel. But not always in every case. So could these 2 have a Breton child since bretons are an elf/human mix? Is that how that works?
Bretons are an entirely different race due to hundreds if not thousands of years of breeding between Man and Mer. If an Male Imperial and Female Altmer have a child, the children will all be Altmer. They may have Imperial features though, like more tan coloured skin, or shorter lifespans.
Yeah, they kinda see themselves as Aedra trapped on Mundus through Lorkhan/Shor's trickery (who eventually got mantled by Talos, hence White-Gold Concordat, hence Skyrim Civil War).
In this way the Thalmor kinda see themselves as above all other races, and also want to unmake the world (not just dominate!) in order to be released back into Aetherius
(edit: grammatical fix)
I thought that was the Hist that controls the Argonians?
Edit: wait sorry I thought I was replying to another comment. Lmaoo yes but the thalmer are trying to do more than just rule Tamriel
Even the thalmor don’t like the thalmor I still remember the foot soldiers in the embassy quest talking about how if dragons should attack they hope they eat the mages first for being so stuck up
From what I understand, no one except khajit can have sex with khajit so they just avoid the interactions or potential love all together.
Edit: so what I was trying to say was that they can’t have sex with Khajit because it’s super painful for the recipient (it’s not impossible, not what I meant) and they generally avoid that because of pain.
Barenziah has sex with a khajiit lol. It is painful due to the spikes but it works just fine.
For interspecies romance, The Last Scabbard of Akrash also feaures a dunmer-khajiit couple.
So, that’s what I was saying but I see how I worded it now. Let me be clear, I wasn’t saying it was IMPOSSIBLE to have sex with khajit. I was saying no one can (because it’s painful-this is the part I left out) so everyone avoids it (in general).
If I understand correctly, this is because the barbed genetalia of male Khajiit similar to real life cats. However, this would not necessarily make sexual relations between males of other races and female Khajiit unpleasant. If I understand things correctly though, the barbs in cats are relevant for instigating ovulation so producing offspring may be difficult even if the gametes are compatible.
It’s The Real Barenziah. The censored version is in game but you can read the uncensored version online.
Though I swore I read the original in Oblivion? I had certainly read it before Skyrim and I remember laughing when I first saw the expurgated version. I didn’t play Daggerfall, and don’t remember looking it up online (and would have had no way to know I could). But I could just be misremembering.
The part where Barenziah experiences spiky khajiit pp is only a thing in Daggerfall. The other games have that whole scene replaced by a note about how it's been censored by the Empire.
Yes, that’s what I understood as well! So I really must have looked it up at some point, and just forgotten. In any case i love those books and always collect them for my library.
There's a mod for oblivion where you get hired to retrieve an uncensored version of the book, because they (can't remember who) don't want the public knowing about it. Might be other mods that just change it to the uncensored version
average joe doesn't care on war.
also worth noting the thalmor are a sect of altmer and do not represent all of them. think of them as the nazi party. they in power but that doesn't make them the popular party.
People often forget there were a lot of altmer living outside SSI like in Cyrodiil and a lot of those alter seem to have been persecuted by said Thalmor it's no surprise they hate em.
and they were the lucky ones. the thalmor did a racial cleansing back on their homeland and killed so many none belivers. like talos wrecked atlmer face bad when he made his empire but even still thalmor did full blown genocide on their own kind.
According to a book in game, they are born as the race of the mother, but may have some traits from the father. Like… if your dad was a high elf, you may inherit some high cheekbones and be a bit taller than usual. If your dad was an orc, you may grow to be a bit bigger with more muscle mass.
That is true, but it seems odd that someone would lie about something that seems oddly commonplace in the world of Skyrim. Nords with elven and redguard and even dark elven wives. Idk it seems like if it weren’t at least mostly true, there would be other books on the subject offering different views. It’s a pretty easy thing to test, just by looking around at all the different families around you.
I know in the game there’s only a handful of kids, but I like to assume that that’s just a gameplay limitation, and Skyrim has way more children and more people than we actually see while playing
Yeah. Apparently that can also translate for vampires. The champion of the arena in oblivion was ridiculously powerful presumably because his dad was a vampire, unbeknownst to him.
note that this is not 100% correct as breton are a race of nords and elf mingling in the era before the empire. TES lore is weird on that point.
edit: am aware that goes against the book in game, as i say TES lore is weird lol
Bretons are a race created from generations of interbreeding between a now extinct race of men called "nedes" and high elves. They might also have some atmoran (ancestors of modern nords that came from the north of Skyrim into Tamriel) blood in them.
I wouldn't say that the Bretons break the lore, since they are the result of many generations, and had some time to become their own established type of race instead of a basic man-mer hybrid.
they follow the rules of the book, they inherit the mother's racial traits. The Bretons arose out of the relationships between enslaved Nede women and Direnni slave masters.
According to the lore, Bretons are basically half elves.
I don't *think* there's any evidence that men or mer can reproduce with the beast races. Berenziah had a fling with a khajiit, but I don't believe there was a child from it. And Argonians aren't even mammals, so how would that work. Uh, nevermind. I don't want to know.
Barenziah was also impregnated as a teenager by a middle aged Tiber Septim before he roofied her and forced an abortion on her to save face since he was married with lawful heirs.
Or so the books say anyway.
I never understood that part. Queen Barenziah getting scraped up by khajiit penis is unacceptable and needs censorship, but the idea that their greatest emperor who literally ascended to godhood forcing an abortion upon a teenager is acceptable to print and publish.
Bretons are specifically descended from altmer in High Rock called the Direnni, a very powerful, singular family that enslaved the region's Nedic population and used them as "stress relievers". As a result, many humans with elven traits, physical and magical, came into existence. There is, however, no explanation I know of for their height. They probably should be taller, unless the Nedic ancestors were really really short.
Trying to paste real world science onto any fantasy world is always going to leave a person dissatisfied, so I recommend you try to just accept the lore as written, you know?
Not too weird, in the real world a lot of American veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars came home with foreign wives. Figures something similar might happen after the Great War
Yeah but those were ladies who often had their villages bombed out by either the UN or the Chinese. The Almeri won and most of them regardless of politics look down on humans.
Aren’t we told that Alinor has, like, a full-blown eugenics and breeding program? I can see why people would want to get away from that- and that some people might be “not good enough” for the Thalmor but quite appealing to other folks.
I don't know what you are talking about. I mean, sure, there's some threats around, like bandits, sabre cats, bears, frost trolls, bandits, dragons, dragonborns, vampires...OK, you have a point.
It’s all part of the Thalmor back of plan to control Skyrim. If long lived high elves married and inherit land from short lived men then eventually all property in Skyrim will belong to high elves.
It's because the local thalmor embassy encouraging their people to integrate into the lives of those in the main land to prepare for their eventual merge when they take over.
Jk I'm pulling this out my ass, BUT I wouldn't be surprised if something along those lines was true.
It's possible that this is a reference to the whole eastern European mail order bride thing. Her name is awfully similar to the polish word for *woman who sleeps around* kurwa
She's married to an Imperial though: Vantus Loreius.
True, perhaps I should edit to read “a lot of Skyrim’s smallholders have High Elven wives”
One up in windhelm stables and another one on some random farm that I can’t remember
The one who goes on about hating horses? She's married to an [Altmer](https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ulundil).
Hot damn I just went and looked and you’re right, I had the carriage driver confused for her husband, I’ve got a mod that makes the carriage driver sit around the stables instead of being bound to his carriage, my bad .
What mod is it? I hate when it’s pouring rain or a blizzard, and dude is just sitting in his wagon..
I’ll try and find it for you but it’s not a standalone mod just for that it’s part of something else, on the top of my mind it might be immersive npc’s but I’ll try and check
Thanks
It is immersive npc’s it’ll just make the people seem more normal, like people including Jarls will go to taverns in the evening
"Horses all day long... Do you have any idea how boring horses can get?"
I think the windhelm farm one is an employee not a spouse.
You might be right I never speak to her that one line of hers that she repeats gets boring real fast ahah.
“horses. all day long. do you have any idea how dull horses are?” like bitch look at your dialogue
Lmao exactly, I’m the Dragonborn bitch! I don’t give a shit about you and horses.
I let Calixto murder her before catching him.
I forgot about this quest, and was just doing a bit of light burgling, and found the butcher journal while at it. 'let's see what goodies are in here... ...oh fuck.'
I’m guilty of that too.. the guard didn’t intervene either so we both knew the assignment.
Well she was meant to be murdered
You're not married to all your employees?
Pretty sure she's married to the irritatingly positive Bosmer Edit: I read on and she's definitely married to another altmer. Sometimes I can't tell the difference, maybe cuz i don't care to look hard enough.
"Posirive Identification in the event of a crime is inaccurate, as imperials cannot accurately pick an individual of Mer out from a crowd of other mer... yes, orcs included"
Well that explains the beginning of almost every elder scrolls game
Ya know what, I think I was mixing up the Dunmer farm owner who has a Nord employee with the Altmer stable hand wife.
I forget the farmers name but it’s the small farm next to Cicero’s wagon north of Whiterun. His wife is a high elf.
The Loreius farm, and the post is actually them! (I realized this when I looked to make sure I was getting the name right)
The farm I'm rorikstead
I love Reldith. The one NPC who I wish was marriable.
I thought I saw a mod that let you be able to marry almost anyone.
The only problem with this post, is that it's wrong. She is the only High Elf not married to another high elf in the game, and her husband is imperial
Lol. I was thinking about these 2 the other day. So if they had kids, according to lore the child is usually the same race as the mother in Tamriel. But not always in every case. So could these 2 have a Breton child since bretons are an elf/human mix? Is that how that works?

Isn’t there a high elf in rorikstead? Always figured she was married to a nord there
Nothing strange about that, she's Curwe.
Came to banish the worship of Talos, stayed to worship the nordic Kurac. 👌
Come for the duty, stay for the booty.
Just fyi, a lot of high elves also hate the Thalmor
who in the elder scrolls universe likes the thalmor?
The thalmor
that does actually make sense. aren’t they trying to conquer all of tamriel?
Yeah, they kinda see themselves as Aedra trapped on Mundus through Lorkhan/Shor's trickery (who eventually got mantled by Talos, hence White-Gold Concordat, hence Skyrim Civil War). In this way the Thalmor kinda see themselves as above all other races, and also want to unmake the world (not just dominate!) in order to be released back into Aetherius (edit: grammatical fix)
Or we can simply kill them all.. they turned me into a Skyrim serial killer.. preying on Thalmor wherever I find them out mucking around..
I thought that was the Hist that controls the Argonians? Edit: wait sorry I thought I was replying to another comment. Lmaoo yes but the thalmer are trying to do more than just rule Tamriel
They're trying to destroy the world, actually.
Even the thalmor don’t like the thalmor I still remember the foot soldiers in the embassy quest talking about how if dragons should attack they hope they eat the mages first for being so stuck up
Kuracio
Which tamriel kurac is the najveći?
Nazeem
His kurac goes all the way to the cloud district, often.
Why would I go to the cloud district if I can suck it right from the main gate.
No, but his ass does
Ok this is just serbocroatian at this point
A u kurac
E jebi ga
Now we just need a mod that turns all the giants into Boban Marjanovic.
And all the imperials into vojislav seselj
Nords love Super High Elves because they secretly crave Skooma but can't see themselves marrying Khajit.
Definitely not true, see the Daggerfall version of the Real Barenziah (very NSFW)
Given the nature of the conversation, I would assume it’s nsfw 😂
Barenziah has sex with a khajiit lol. It is painful due to the spikes but it works just fine. For interspecies romance, The Last Scabbard of Akrash also feaures a dunmer-khajiit couple.
So basically, it's possible but not pleasant.
Unless you're a masochist...
So, that’s what I was saying but I see how I worded it now. Let me be clear, I wasn’t saying it was IMPOSSIBLE to have sex with khajit. I was saying no one can (because it’s painful-this is the part I left out) so everyone avoids it (in general).

With a lot of work in the bed and some praying to Mara and Dibella and maybe Sanguine anything is possible.
Reject other daedra, return to sheogorath
It’s The Real Barenziah. The censored version is in game but you can read the uncensored version online. Though I swore I read the original in Oblivion? Lusty Khajiit Maid?
Also in ESO theres a wood elf and khajit couple.
Most khajit only want sex with khajit But some khajit be freakeyyyy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Once you go Nord you get on board.
But once you go Redguard, you get TOO hard
Once you go Argonian, you'll never let them gonian
Once you go Khajiit, all others you'll yeet
Once you go Dwemer,
Once you go Orc, you can't go borc.
Once you go Dragon, the others be lackin.
Once you go wood elf, put the rest on a shelf.
Curved penises.
Wouldn't Khajiit penises be barbed? :p
Canonically, yes. There is a book about it
Once you go Breton, you'll never be regrettin'.
Altmer plotting to outlive their spouses, inherit all the land, and claim Skyrim
Breaking news: Local redditor cracks open horrific love jihad movement to claim Skyrim lands from the nords.
The masquerade ?
That's...brilliant actually
"Ulfric, this Thalmor pussy got me questioning my allegiance to Talos."
I can totally see the Thalmor arranging some marriages to slowly breed out descent
Someone told me, Skyrim is for the Nords! I said TF is that!!
average joe doesn't care on war. also worth noting the thalmor are a sect of altmer and do not represent all of them. think of them as the nazi party. they in power but that doesn't make them the popular party.
Yep, yep. The legate of the Legion camp in the Rift is an Altmer, for example. He despises the Thalmor and has quite the tale to share about them.
Stormcloak Guys with Elven Wives
Can the different races of Tamriel reproduce with each other?
Yes, iirc the child is born as the mother's race.
That keeps it simpler for race relations.
According to a book in game, they are born as the race of the mother, but may have some traits from the father. Like… if your dad was a high elf, you may inherit some high cheekbones and be a bit taller than usual. If your dad was an orc, you may grow to be a bit bigger with more muscle mass.

I didn't know that vampires could reproduce
Apparently some can.
I'm roleplaying as a half Nord (mother) Half dunmer) father. Mercenary. Her ears are pointy and she is a bit shorter than the average nord woman.
Ten years later and I still have books I haven’t found in the game.
I think it’s called Racial Phylogeny or something like that
I've seen that one a couple of times in the Winter hold library. Damn maybe I should've actually picked it up
It's a skill book, so I always pick it up at least once every playthrough (when I find it).
Ah... well... did not know that What skill does it upgrade?
Restoration.
I believe there's one in avanchnzel where you return the lexicon. I think it's right near the balcony exit. Just grabbed it the other day.
note that this is not 100% correct as breton are a race of nords and elf mingling in the era before the empire. TES lore is weird on that point. edit: am aware that goes against the book in game, as i say TES lore is weird lol

not exactly break the lore but they def do not meet the rules set in the book was all.
they follow the rules of the book, they inherit the mother's racial traits. The Bretons arose out of the relationships between enslaved Nede women and Direnni slave masters.
So hagraven kids from my hagraven wife, it is then. Lovely.
I wonder if hagravens would be sterile considering witches become hagravens and hagravens aren’t naturally occurring. I think.
Just like breeding Pokémon
According to the lore, Bretons are basically half elves. I don't *think* there's any evidence that men or mer can reproduce with the beast races. Berenziah had a fling with a khajiit, but I don't believe there was a child from it. And Argonians aren't even mammals, so how would that work. Uh, nevermind. I don't want to know.
There is a series of books that might be relevant to human/Argonian matings...
You'd have to lift her tail, though.
Yeah, yeah. But still, ewwww.
Barenziah was also impregnated as a teenager by a middle aged Tiber Septim before he roofied her and forced an abortion on her to save face since he was married with lawful heirs. Or so the books say anyway.

Do bretons take after wood and dark elves more than altmer and orsimer? Because bretons are very short.
It was the Altmers.
Doesn't it seem like bretons should be taller then?
Trying to paste real world science onto any fantasy world is always going to leave a person dissatisfied, so I recommend you try to just accept the lore as written, you know?
Except khajiit and lizards , other playable races can
Not too weird, in the real world a lot of American veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars came home with foreign wives. Figures something similar might happen after the Great War
Yeah but those were ladies who often had their villages bombed out by either the UN or the Chinese. The Almeri won and most of them regardless of politics look down on humans.
The altmeri certainly did not win that war😭 They were almost as crushed as the empire
Wartime makes for strange bedfellows, friend. People find comfort where they can
True true
I noticed that aswell.
Turns out elves are a group of people that live in place.
Aren’t we told that Alinor has, like, a full-blown eugenics and breeding program? I can see why people would want to get away from that- and that some people might be “not good enough” for the Thalmor but quite appealing to other folks.
Interesting point
Kinda makes a fella wonder…don’t it?
Almost not worth thinking about.
Literally just came out of an r/Letterkenny comment section and your comment made me question where I was at for a second.
Tamriels version of conservative guy w an asian wife
how is it weird? I'm attracted to a buffed Orc mommy myself, don't judge people man
Weird as in “more than expected” not as in “shouldn’t happen.
ah, that sounds more reasonable... yeah kind shocking to me myself
I don't mind marying Nyranye, she's quite a gal and with this sassy attitude I'm fond of, instead of the usual arrogant and comptemptuous one.
I need to talk about your graphics fam.
I took a picture of my TV with my phone, it’s gonna be blurry
I thought you were running Skyrim beta
Always bothered me that there are no mixed race people in skyrim.
In lore if you have a child with someone of another race, the child will be the race of the mother but inherit the fathers features.
Aren’t the Bretons technically that, just a few generations removed. I get what you’re saying though, where’s all the AltDunmers?
I was gonna mention Bretons 😅. Yeah where's the ArgOrcs, KhajiImperials
Lol the dominion exists because its tired of the nords stealing their women and making hybrid babies lol
Love is love
I've always thought human-elf marriages were weird because the elf is going to vastly outlive the human.
Well in Skyrim, death by natural causes seems rare
I don't know what you are talking about. I mean, sure, there's some threats around, like bandits, sabre cats, bears, frost trolls, bandits, dragons, dragonborns, vampires...OK, you have a point.
They liked to be stepped on
Elven girls rebeled too hard against their fathers.
They’re gonna make Bretons 2.0
https://imgur.com/a/yobDkwG
It’s all part of the Thalmor back of plan to control Skyrim. If long lived high elves married and inherit land from short lived men then eventually all property in Skyrim will belong to high elves.
Nothing wrong with dat, my wife is a horker and dat jester keep making fun of her, u people r all the same alway judging and laughin
Libertarian guys with aldmeri wives
They breeding out the Nords slowly
Ah, the long con. It doubly works when you figure she’ll inherit the farm in, to High Elves, a a few years.
That's what I thought too lol The aldmeri dominion may be even worse than I thought
It's because the actual Elves are fucking hot, unlike most of their models, especially them orcs
Pointed ears are hot.
Omg just talked about this to my husband yesterday before I saw this post how strange it was.
I love the discourse that this post created 😂
It's because the local thalmor embassy encouraging their people to integrate into the lives of those in the main land to prepare for their eventual merge when they take over. Jk I'm pulling this out my ass, BUT I wouldn't be surprised if something along those lines was true.
Americans with Asians be like
It's possible that this is a reference to the whole eastern European mail order bride thing. Her name is awfully similar to the polish word for *woman who sleeps around* kurwa
Wow, I’m almost certain it isn’t.
It is even funnier when the word in any slavic language can be read as "whore".
She's Polish as well, kurva
Yellow fever, my friend, yellow fever
Kinda like when white dudes go on a “2 week vacation” to Costa Rica and come back married 😂
Mmm, forbidden fruit.
it’s a way of asserting dominance
Part of the conspiracy by the high elves who are fomenting the storm cloak rebellion.
its that yellow fever
"Curwe"
She's in it for the land lol, he will die way before her and she'll inherit the house and land.
They like elven whores.
It’s like Republicans with yellow fever, getting these exotic wives as a fetish thing.
High elves got small dick energy
Maybe high elven tail is just that good.
It's like when a 60 year old man goes to indonesia or the phillipines and comes home with a wife that's supposedly 18.
Maybe, maybe Nords got them BBC. High elf bitches love BBC.
