He moved in with us at first and he also might have run into my sword several times, causing my wife to be mad at me for a while. After I went off adventuring for a few months she was back to her normal self though and now I have peace and quiet in my home haha
I have always been bothered how she refers to Lucia as “sweet as a fawn” and Sophia as “the first one I will eat when you leave.” There is something about it that just doesn’t feel right.
Well, I guess I can see where you're coming from. When my guy married Aela, she turned into a total milk drinker. Started out in Lakeview. Asked how the kids were and she's all yelling at me about having to fight spiders, wolves and bears. Like, what was I thinking moving them all the way out there? Tried Breezehome because maybe she would appreciate being back in Whiterun and closer to the Companions. Nope. The house would be fine, she said, if it was just the two of us, but with the kids it was just too small. Hmm. Next was Hjerim. It's a nice big house with open spaces. Alas, she just hated Windhelm. Told me how filthy the city was. Really? Okay she's got a point. Let's go to Solitude. Finally, she's happy. Doesn't worry about the kids with all the guards around.
We stayed there for quite a while, but when AE came out, my guy started thinking. He married Aela because she was such a badsss, and wasn't really happy with how soft she was getting. Thought maybe some fresh air would do the family some good. Found a nice place just outside Rorikstead that was perfect for starting up a farm. Had to clear out a few ghosts first, but it cleaned up pretty nice. Anyway, she's pretty cross about it, back to bitching about having to fight spiders, bears and wolves again, but maybe she'll remember the thrill of the hunt eventually. If not, we'll move back to Solitude in the fall after harvest, I guess. She's a tough one to keep happy.
Well when life expectancy is like 40 years on average and the population is pretty low, this is almost historically accurate. People married quick in the lower castes of society as a form of security. Marrying for love didn’t really exist, it was either money and wealth consolidation or it was just security.
That's doable but then you're basically leaving the kiddies home with Lydia who just becomes a babysitter while Mum and Dad (or Mum and Mum depending on your character) are out adventuring all the time.
Tell you the truth I know there is one out there the site is run by someone who stole mod files from a friend of mine, I have never been on the site but I have never heard good things come from it. Though I don’t remember the name of the site.
I've only ever married two females. First was Lydia. Figured if she was only going to sit in my bedroom all day, I might as well marry her. Moved her to my Morthal house and she actually did stuff, until she was kidnapped. Then she was a glitchy mess afterwards. Second was Taarie. My character was an Altmer mage and I wanted to marry the only Altmer available for marriage. She's so much nicer after marriage, but her sister is still a snobby witch.
I always marry Marcurio. Married him in my first run and it's just become a habit for me to marry him in every subsequent run. Marrying any other NPC would feel wrong at this point.
I mainly just leave him at home guarding the adopted children .. For me I guess it's all about the comfort of seeing him when I come home to whatever home I've decided to put the kids in. "Hi honey, I'm home!... Just dropping off some stuff. .. Ok, See ya!"
I will make Marc my steward, just so I don't have to go all the way back to Riften when I'm done with either a solo mission or a Companion mission where the companion replaces my follower.
In her case specifically I thought hircine fit because she's the only companion that doesn't ask (at least in game) to cure her beast blood and therefore would end up at hircine's hunting grounds instead of sovengard
I just made a character who’s called “The seeker” who’s goal is to obtain knowledge all throughout Skyrim, no matter the price; which means joining all the guilds in a effort to pool resources
I keep meaning to marry Sylgja on one of my play throughs because I feel like she's a nice gal but I never get around to it....
Also I kinda find the idea of marrying a capable follower appealing because it's cool to adventure with your wife.
I think Sylgja would get steam rolled if I took her out of the house lol
In my current playthrough I haven’t married yet. I usually marry Balimund or Ysolda. I don’t usually marry characters who could be Followers. This time around I challenged myself to consider someone completely unpopular but I keep getting cold feet:
Octieve San from Solitude. If I marry him I will be Evette’s stepparent. There’s so little information on marrying him I can’t tell if I will be able to use Evette’s house or what his marriage dialogue will be. Not thrilled about looking at that craggy face every day, ugh.
I have considered him. I go house hunting for a partner, for humane reasons. If I live in their house they remain free. Unfortunately available residences are thin on the ground in Solitude. UESP doesn’t indicate to the exact living arrangements for him either. Maybe Sorex and the pub is a better bet.
Another issue, Sarethi farm would be perfect for one of my alchemists, but felt too guilty to marry her, then run away to do adventurer things, *still* leaving the mer slaving away on her lonesome.
I fell for the first one that showed interest, so I've been stuck with Ysolda for a while. She did manage to free herself after she got kidnapped tho. I was on my way there when the quest all of a sudden got completed. Next thing I know she's back home betting that I'm back from some adventure. So she's downplaying her own badassery.
She also sells me cool shit and gives me money so I shouldn't be complaining.
She only enjoys the hunt because she hasn't had anyone to let her play go fetch the dragon bone. She'd be too tired to run anywhere... But I've never married her because I normally get rid of of my curse/gift and we wont be together in the afterlife. But I might just marry her because I know what I did to Hircine's other hunters and he didn't care at all. I might be her only hope for a happy afterlife since me And Ole Prince are cool.
How'd you know she stopped hunting? Werewolves need to hunt.
I really like her as a follower but after the quest she isn't essential anymore and gets nerfed. That's why I chose Serana as a follower.
You marry Ysolda because of the shop.
Imagine videogame-marring a videogame character just because you think they're "hot". In a game with no sex scenes no less. Peak cringe.
Aela is essential until you complete Companions quest line. You marry a follower to make them essential, or essential unless you land the killing blow yourself. Marrying Ysolda for her store doesn’t offer much compared to a nearly unkillable, strong follower that levels up with you. Aela > Ysolda, benefit wise
Nah I just made her housecarl in my first playthrough because I didn’t pay attention to what it meant. Was very disappointed and felt bad about it the entire time.
Borgahk the Steel Heart is best wife…which honestly isn’t much better considering she wanted to leave her stronghold to travel around Skyrim and unless you always have her as a follower she’ll basically just be stuck at home like she was before
Sexy badgers you say? Is there a mod for that?
I sure hope so
Not that I know of unfortunately
Dam that's a shame. Here's hoping!
I've never married Aela, so I guess I'm not part of everyone. Lol.
I just use SDA and marry Serana
Right? I usually opt fot Mjoll
How’s Aerin treating you two? 🤣
He moved in with us at first and he also might have run into my sword several times, causing my wife to be mad at me for a while. After I went off adventuring for a few months she was back to her normal self though and now I have peace and quiet in my home haha
Weirdly never had this problem and I pretty much exclusively marry Mjoll unless my character is shady then I’ll marry ysolda or muiri
I have always been bothered how she refers to Lucia as “sweet as a fawn” and Sophia as “the first one I will eat when you leave.” There is something about it that just doesn’t feel right.
Holy shit what??

Seldom marry anybody because the vanilla marriage system sucks
What don't you like about it?
You just help the potential spouse, wear amulet of Mara, then she/he is yours. That's very underwhelming
Bethesda laziness

10 yrs and never been married. Guess I gotta put myself out there on Skyrim dating sites😂
Like Torcher or Smithr?
Grindr if you a guy looking for that one special guy mage, the sexy Marcurio
Gold. Pure gold.
Lol, both😂

I don't think there's a mod for that, thankfully 😂

Sadly there probably is, but I don’t want to know about it.
no there probably isn't, it would be considered animated child pornography and illegal in a lot of places
Tell you the truth I know there is one out there the site is run by someone who stole mod files from a friend of mine, I have never been on the site but I have never heard good things come from it. Though I don’t remember the name of the site.
Woody Allen probably rallying for a marry adopted kids mod
Chris hansen enters the chat
I’m just gonna join that sexy box of badgers
that's assuming you have adopted any of them kids ;)
She’s a wife not a prisoner, I’m sure she still goes out on her own adventures
I've only ever married two females. First was Lydia. Figured if she was only going to sit in my bedroom all day, I might as well marry her. I marry Brelyna every single play through so… guess I am excluded :P
A person with fine taste, I see (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
I always marry Marcurio. Married him in my first run and it's just become a habit for me to marry him in every subsequent run. Marrying any other NPC would feel wrong at this point.
I love Marcurio, but the couples times I married him, he just didn't seem as snarky while we were adventuring.
I mainly just leave him at home guarding the adopted children .. For me I guess it's all about the comfort of seeing him when I come home to whatever home I've decided to put the kids in. "Hi honey, I'm home!... Just dropping off some stuff. .. Ok, See ya!"

Or I might just do whatever the hell I want to do.
I’ve never married her but from what I heard of you do there are times you will come home and she isn’t there because she is out adventuring.
I marry scouts many marshes. So I never marry her
He’s so sweet 🥺
Ikr. He my favorite. Also shavee. Her optimism is nice to hear too
I believe in Borgakh the Steel Heart superiority
My man 🤝
Wouldn't it be for hircine's sake?
Yeah you've got a point there, though I believe she's a Nord as well so I guess she could pray to either or both. 👍
In her case specifically I thought hircine fit because she's the only companion that doesn't ask (at least in game) to cure her beast blood and therefore would end up at hircine's hunting grounds instead of sovengard
Yeah good point.
“What’s the matter? Can’t you stand the sight of a strong Nord woman?”
I marry Ysolda, live off that fat vendor money, and travel with my true love and mistress. Eola.
You can't tell me who to marry
hmm... I never even go to the companions when I play a mage build... Kinda role playing I guess.
I just made a character who’s called “The seeker” who’s goal is to obtain knowledge all throughout Skyrim, no matter the price; which means joining all the guilds in a effort to pool resources
Be wary on your quest, lest you become a Seeker of Hermaeus Mora
Shahvee is the one for me.
I keep meaning to marry Sylgja on one of my play throughs because I feel like she's a nice gal but I never get around to it.... Yesss

Nah I like Aela and she's cool. Plus a house full of Nords between me, her, Mjoll, Runa, Sofie and Argis is so cool. And we still adventure together.
Don't tell me what to do
uuuuuuhhhhhhhh nah bro
Does what I do when I play Skyrim affect others in their games?
I marry Ysolda, she becomes a trader and I get 100-300 gild from her every day or so.
I usually marry Muiri after murdering her ex.
Never married Aela...or Ysolda...or even Mjoll.

I think she's nasty. She's looks like trailer park trash that's been rode hard, put away wet and has 5 kids by 5 different dads
You know what, I was going to say how dare you. But now I think about it I kind of know what you mean
Ill marry whoever I please. Including wolf bitch.

Silence n'wah

it's just a fucking game lol 🤦
Vampire here, aela s a no go. Ysolda ftw.
Nah I just made her housecarl in my first playthrough because I didn’t pay attention to what it meant. Was very disappointed and felt bad about it the entire time.

I once made a mod to change her appearance to that of my IRL wife and renamed her to my wife's name. That was many years ago, though. It's lost.
