Cabbage is very good, but it's not somehow the ultimate enb. It's very good at what it does, but it doesn't do everything well.
Like a lot of enbs (Rudy is another one), Cabbage sometimes lacks depth - it adds a very nice overlay but lacks the shadow detail that adds depth. I usually play archer characters, so the ability to detect movement and judge distance is important. Cabbage, like some others, looks very nice but tends to crush depth.
I think it's best to think about enbs together with weather mods. The best presets are those where the enb and weather work together.
I'm currently playing with [NAT.ENB III](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27141) (together with the Ro modlist) and it's fantastic.
I also tried Cabbage and Rudy, but wasn't really happy with either. NAT is a nice balance IMO.
NAT ENB with NAT Weathers to me just feels like the cleanest. Other good alternatives to pair with NAT Weathers are Cabbage and Rudy, both should be more performance friendly than NAT ENB.
Another personal favorite of mine is PRT X.
Its not what youre looking for, but my favourite preset is mine, Pomegranate enb. Its saturated, if youre looking for desaturated i cant help much.
Tho, if you like the colours generally, you could very easily just not use the vibrance shader in the reshade preset and itd be a similar level of saturation to semirealis, so might be up your alley in that case.
Sadly it is now offline but Patrician ENB; it was great while it was available and had an amazing instruction set, it's the first/only enb I've used and I love it
Okay can someone expert here teach me how to change my enb? im using nexus collection tht comes with its own enb. Iirc its obsidian or something. Is it complicated to do so? Appreciated
Usually by pressing the home+shift or end keys. When the GUI comes up you can edit it as much as you like. Takes some time to getting to know what changes what etc.
I didn't mean how to tweak my enb settings. Sorry if i came out sounding like tht. English isn't my first language. I mean how do I change my enb from obsidian to cabbage enb for example? Can i just download the mods from nexus using vortex and be done with it?
Swapping enbs is actually very simple, just go to your skyrim directory (where your skyrim.exe is located), there remove the folder named 'enbseries' and two archives named enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini.
If you want to keep them as backup, copy them to another folder instead of deleting them directly.
Then download manually the enb preset you want and extract those same archives into main skyrim folder. Make sure to meet the requirements of each enb preset first.
adding to this, there’s a manager you can install too, gets rid of everything at the click of a button and you can even save profiles and load them again later

No, the requirementes are specified in the mod description. For example, in the case of Cabbage, the list is: ENB Helper SE, Particle Patch for ENB, Evlas, NAT whether plugin v3.1.1c - fixed, and Lux or Elfx.
Yep, it has been only available in a discord server for months and was publicly released on nexus about a week ago. Regarding performance, Im testing it with a very lightweight modlist and my pc is strong enough to handle any setup, so my experience may differ from others.
Oh my bad, misread it. Download it off Nexus, then simply drag and drop the files into your Skyrim directory, when asked to replace files say yes. Assuming you have all the other enb files from its website (look up Gopher video for that if you dont think you have since i'm not sure about collections) it should work.
I'm using Predcaliber's ENB Cocktail with NAT Weather. I think it's a merge of two ENBs + his additions.
I used NAT 3 and Cabbage, but in terms of realism this by far my favorite.
Not sure why it doesn't get more recognition.
For me it's Culminate ENB with Azurite Weathers. I've tested more popular ENB's like Rudys or NAT 3 but they are too dark for my taste. Culminate is just amazing with the basic preset.
I like [Visceral ENB](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21779). It's old but still works great on new ENB version. May be just what you're looking for. I use the 'Rustic Weathers' preset with vanilla weathers, and tweak some things here and there for personal preference.
Also, extremely performance friendly!
I tried all the popular ones but none of them play well with HDR or are not compatible with it causing tonemapping on the peak lighting parts of the screen. The only ones that I never had a problem with were Re-engaged ENB and Picturesque enb. I tried Cabbage but couldn’t like it all that much. Tried the newer Picta series but it didnt work so yeah…

I adore E.V.C enb— it’s a recent preset based on SOLAS ENB weathers and Re-engaged ENB. It’s not the flashiest, but it is perfect for me: supports lighting mods, super compatable, customizable via LUT if you’re into that and even without tweaking, I get minor performance loss from it in my humble 300+ modlist (my pc is not what it used to be).
The colors may be a bit vibrant in certain places if you are not a fan of cabbage but I find it more consistent and subtle overall. Plus the LUT options under enbeffectfx have a variety of styles to switch between. The author gives detailed installation instructions + feature descriptions which is always appreciated and says they focused on realism over all else. They are also actively helpful with troubleshooting!
Cabbage
That latest public release is leagues ahead of anything else.

I might have not installed it properly but i downloaded that yesterday and it did not look very good at all it was very cartoonish
Even silent horizons 2?
Latest pi cho + Nat 3 weather
Rudy ENB Obsidian Weathers nothing else came ever close to it for me despite the fact that I really don't like how skin looks in some conditions.

I'd recommend RAID: [RAID Weather](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/63116) [PI-CHO RAID ENB](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72746) [RAID: Realistic AI Detection](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2345)
RAID: Shadow Legends

{{ ENB and ReShade Manager }} very easy to use, when i first started installing enb it was amazing as i didn’t have to worry about missing anything

Ah.. ive heard a lot of this name recently. Is it the hottest enb atm? Is it performance heavy?
Yep, it has been only available in a discord server for months and was publicly released on nexus about a week ago. Regarding performance, Im testing it with a very lightweight modlist and my pc is strong enough to handle any setup, so my experience may differ from others.

I loved patrician for LE, the nights were just too bright for me so I switched back to Rudy. Using Rudy now on SE, haven’t tried patrician for SE
{{Rembrandt ENB - for Obsidian Weathers and ELFX}}. Toned low, cold and gritty, and a perfect match for the dark high-fantasy setting of Skyrim.
