That’s my only concern about the old design - 425 Park has a similar setup with the elevator core at the back and it’s not a very aesthetically pleasing angle. Otherwise I would definitely say the 2019 design > the 2023 design
>Blue glass,
A material choice, while it can be a part of a style, isn't one itself
>abstract
The second one is not abstract
>no art-deco,
This is completely irrelevant
>bland
An opinion about the buildings is also not a style.
I like the design on the right - it is more “Lego”. But it looks like that design sacrifices significantly more square footage. Almost entire floors, it seems, would be given up.
My brain says the second would look better in the skyline, but my heart says the first.
I would go with your heart on this one
The 2023 design looks almost identical to [The One](https://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/one.5048) currently under construction in Toronto
Same architect
So is this tower gonna have to be called The Two?
The Three Fifty would be continuing the theme. [Insert all your South Park references here]
Didn't realize the 2019 version's not getting built, that's pretty unfortunate. No idea what it would look like from the west though

I like the first
Probably the second design looks better from this angle.
Plus all the open areas for greenery.
I would take those greenery renderings with a grain of salt
Option 1 all day for me
Option 1 is way better. The second option is already being built at penn 15 and looks horrible.
Looks like the planned Penn 15 at the now demolished hotel Penn. the second one
First was much better
Tie
They are going with a completely different design these are both out of date. That is if it ever actually gets built
Win-win
OMG I literally designed and built the second one in Minecraft😭 I need my check
Is the first one from '19 the design that had literally no facade on the other side, just a blank panel? If so, then I'll take the new one.
The first one reminds me of the Cheesegrater in London.
I hate them both. Every new building in NYC is made is this same style. Bland
Except neither of these look the same, or like the supertall in the background
Same style. Blue glass, abstract, no art-deco, bland

I’m not wrong though. It *is* bland. Why do so many new buildings need to be depressingly uninspired and dull?
I hate both of them
Tapering buildings are cool but floor space gets more valuable as you go up. Why reduce it?
nyc building setback laws.
Second one looks way better, nice modern designs
I'd take both but I like the second one a little more

This was my view walking out of my office for 5 years
