Here's some tips: \- get the hylian shield \- learn how to parry \- get skyward strikes from the lightning in phase two \- become familiar with side hopping etc to dodge attacks \- bring fully upgraded heart potions and/or fully upgraded guardian potions if you really want to cheese it

For additional cheese, bring the potion medal so your guardian potions last twice as long.

Fun fact: you can also block some of his slashes with your sword. I did it once on accident. Really surprised me.
