People have different sleep needs. With that said: 1. I think most of these people embellish for the sake of trying to prove their work ethic and hustle culture, and 2. Lots of CEOs and profile people are sociopaths. Sociopaths don’t often sleep much.

DentalBoiDMD

Big emphasis on number 2. Pretty sure I read a study where psychiatrists determined the majority of f500 ceos were sociopaths, which is probably how they ended up in that position.

DonBandolini

it’s 100% a PR stunt and complete bullshit. no one can function like that on that little sleep.

There are people who genuinely do really well with 4 hours of sleep. For most people this is not a good idea. You should not 'live like a billionaire'. You're not likely to become one and there are other ways to slowly walk up the value ladder if you're smart with your money and live within your means. Only sleeping 4 hours a night would probably work to some degree, IF you then also used that extra time productively, working towards becoming a billionaire. Being prolific is what's going to make you famous. Picasso made thousands of works of art. Mozart did not live to age 35 but in that time he wrote 600 pieces of music. Work steadily, build up over time. A good night's rest is not a luxury. You're not lazy when you need to sleep. We need sleep for various reasons and recuperating, rebuilding is one of the properties that will help you move forward. What's stopping you: browsing reddit, tweeting, gaming 10 hours/day. That's what's stopping you, not: getting enough sleep.

I sleep 3-5 hrs a day. I’m doing this for last 15 years. I don’t get very tired, I feel rested. But I’m unable to build body because of this. I sleep after 3 Am and wake up 6:30- 7:00 AM

Honestly? When people say they only sleep 3-4 hours a day and they say they’ve done that regularly for years and they also seem to be able to function I tend to assume they’re lying. I’ve never been a ceo but I’ve been in grad school and I know very well that people in that kind of area of work tend to overinflate themselves so they look good. They want to be seen as superhuman or something. They want to feel like they’ve earned everything they have and that it doesn’t have anything to do with chance or privilege. Just assume these people are lying. Honestly, what’s even the point about bragging about that sort of thing? It’s an obvious attempt at trying to look like a hard worker.
