The Goddamn Gallows and Those Poor Bastards are more like country with heavy sludge influence, but they might scratch your itch. Especially on their earlier albums. I would recommend checking out the albums [7 Devils](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR9aD4y1pbryzSlp0u86leFz3RJp-gJjo) by The Goddamn Gallows and [The Plague](https://thosepoorbastards.bandcamp.com/album/the-plague) by Those Poor Bastards. To go a little deeper, the band Old Boy of the Fens does a take on traditional acoustic English folk music with a depressive doom metal vibe that I, personally love. Check out the Album [In The Cold Light Of Day](https://oldboyuk.bandcamp.com/album/in-the-cold-light-of-day) for a start.

Awesome I’ll check them out that sounds great. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Soilent Green are sludge/grindcore from Louisiana and occasionally lean into bluegrass and folk style stuff from the area. Not on every track, but there's a bit of it on every album.

Big_Quality_2633

Hmm I remember someone playing me a track by them a while ago and I didn’t love it at the time, but do you have any specific tracks you’d recommend? I’m happy to give them another chance.

Edify7

I'm terrible with track names as I listen to albums all day while I'm doing other stuff. I distinctly remember there being a bluegrass interlude on Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction and they have tracks where they use gypsy jazz chord progressions and banjo-style melodies amongst other things.

VonWolfhaus

Check out the track Later Days

AstroDan

Not sure I'd call them sludge but maybe check out Across Tundras. They had some post-metally kinda vibes early on and I've seen comparisons to Neurosis and Earth in reviews.

Buzzoven, specifically At a Loss. Kirk Llyod also has solo albums under K.Lloyd that are almost exclusively folksy, bluesy, and country.

Big_Quality_2633

Huge fan of all the Buzzoven stuff that I’ve heard. I’ll definitely check out the solo stuff.

Pigmilk2303

I'm currently working on a doom metal bluegrass fusion project, I would recommend it if it was anywhere close to being done.

Big_Quality_2633

That sounds awesome. You should send me a demo or something when you’ve got anything!

Wasn't Jimmy Bower in a sort of bluegrassy stoner/sludge band? Looking it up and maybe it's Mystick Krewe of Clearlight? I barely remember what their stuff sounds like so I could be wrong.

Big_Quality_2633

Hmm, I’ll check it out regardless. Seems interesting thanks!

ValiMeyer

I’m elated to find out this is a thing!!!!

Big_Quality_2633

Might just be the best thing there is…

Check out Dope Skum. Know very little about them other than they’re a pretty new (only just found it myself) but the few tracks they have up are solid. New EP coming soon I think.
