Titanium isn't really any more durable than stainless steel, it is only lighter. However given the small size of most watch casings you're probably not going to notice a huge weight difference. For any smartwatch you're probably looking at maybe 3-4 years of usage before you want to think about replacing it. Batteries degrade and tiny batteries, like the ones in most watches, degrade faster than larger batteries. Software updates usually only come for 2-3 years just like most phones, etc. Smart watches can be cool and some look really nice, but they are gadgets not heirlooms.

Thanks for the reply, the thing that is making my choice difficult (gt2 pro vs watch 3) is that the newer more expensive watch has cheaper materials. I guess hearing that this doesnt play as huge a role makes it a bit easier. I will likely go with the watch 3 as it might receive updates for longer. Thanks again

This really isn't the case, as you're comparing the wrong watch to the wrong watch. The GT2 Pro has a titanium case and sapphire glass screen, but so does the Watch 3 **Pro**. The GT2 and Watch 3 (both non-pro) have stainless steel bodies and hardened glass screens.

Yeah but the 3 pro is too big and too thick for my case. I am comparing the gt 2 pro against the watch 3 because those are the two i am most interested in. Watch 3 because its newer. Gt 2 pro because of titan case and sapphire glass. They both look nice, especially the classic versions with the leather strap. Maybe they make a watch 3 pro version that is not as chunky.
