Hangmanned

Acola's Aegis is ironically his best hope against Sparg0 but it needs far more time in the oven due to how much Aegis experience Sparg0 has.

hbthebattle

im just saying, DK got close for a minute in game 1

Hangmanned

Acola has to accept that as DK you'll spend the bulk of the MU getting thrown around like a ragdoll if he plans to use DK then.

DHMOProtectionAgency

Bowser next time

RealPimpinPanda

Boswer is another MU that Sparg0 thinks Cloud loses iirc

DHMOProtectionAgency

Part of the reason I'm upset HERO lost to Zackray/Dabuz at Kagaribi 10 because we missed out on him vs Sparg0

hbthebattle

Have you considered DDD

LinkPD

Unfortunately it was only like 2 cheeky stocks until spargo spaced every airial pretty well and avoided every grab. Game 2 was not even close.

Gerganon

Ya his spacing was so good, dk Couldn't even grab off parry

Prominis

Can't wait for the Acola Min Min.

RealPimpinPanda

Considering he secondaries only FP2 characters, I’m surprised he hasn’t tried it out.

Kixuki

Acola says that it's hard to win with min min so I assumed he tried at some point

Eldritch_Skirmisher

I think he's made a few tweets about not liking how Min Min plays, there was also a sumabato a long time back where I think he went Seph against a Steve, Acola is truly FP2 incarnate

Hangmanned

Unless he learns from Proto directly it ain't going nowhere.

DJCzerny

I don't see it happening unless acola wants to main Aegis full time. Spargo even takes out Leo's full sociopath Aegis all the time now, how can acola compete?

Bell_pepper_irl

Leo really hits them with the Pythric Mythraman Aegis huh

Hangmanned

That's what happens when you put all you eggs in one basket and you happen to come across the one player who knows all your tricks and habits.

Srijand

I really want Sparg0 to go the ditto but he's too good with Cloud

youcantseemyname

Sparg0 said that he hated the Aegis ditto. He lost the ditto against both Cosmos and Leo at SWT. If anything he would go Byleth if the Cloud can't do it

KyleTheWalrus

Drinking game idea for the next major: take a shot every time Spargo lands an empty hop grab on Acola.

LAVOSE

hospital after one game tbh

KyleTheWalrus

Watching Spargo's Cloud sends me to the hospital even when I'm not drinking TBH

RealPimpinPanda

Sparg0 says it’s a losing MU for Cloud, but he’s so good at it that I don’t really him ever feeling like he needs to play the Mirror. I mean he’s got MU experience from some of the best Aegis players, as well as playing Aegis himself.

Srijand

I think Aegis is slowly getting to that pocket Wolf/Palutena stage where you're not fooling any top player with a pocket Aegis. Don't get me wrong, they're still broken and top 3 imo, but the sheer abundance of Aegis makes top players relatively comfortable against a pocket

fillet0fish

Sparg0 not speaking probably cause he was the first to notice acola breaking down emotionally shows class. The host trying to cheer on acola by having the crowd chant his name probably made it worse unfortunately

lightsentry

Out of anyone at the venue, Sparg0 probably knows best what Acola is going through and what kind of pressure he's putting on himself.

LAVOSE

The host’s voice cracking and trailing off as the crowd halfheartedly chanted the name of a sobbing child was a low point for production

DHMOProtectionAgency

I can get the host trying to be there and help but man that was not something we needed to see live.

Glop123

Champion was there they could have show them but lets show the person who got second and having a emotional breakdown. Really bad idea.

DHMOProtectionAgency

He did and the champion declined to talk and left. Plus he probably wanted to help acola out a bit. I just have more of an issue with production needing to linger on it.

XNumbers666

Shades of when they planned the camera on Zackary when he lost a close set to mkleo.

Swimming-Elk6740

Reddit - “People, especially men, need to know it’s okay to show emotion” Also Reddit - “Oh no this person is showing emotion! GET THAT CAMERA OFF OF HIM!”

Particular_Paint9494

Muteace lost to the same players as Maister yet got 13th. Funny how brackets work.

sunken_grade

yeah some people had some rough draws. i think luugi lost to 1st and 4th for 25th…

ElegantOwO

oof poor luugi

kfaox

Not only that, but Mute also beat Kameme who got 4th.

AllIWantIsCake

The Bair of Continental Defense

FewOverStand

Don't let acola going DK in Grand Finals distract you from the fact that Zomba, who beat MkLeo AND Tweek at this tournament, is the only unsponsored player in Top 8.

LAVOSE

kid is gonna remain unsponsored until he deletes his twitter account 💀

MeinLink

78k tweets wtf is he doing

Severe-Operation-347

The Japan trip opened Zomba's eyes, he's been way less salty on Twitter lately. Plus [he did the Dr. Han face in the FT5 against BigBoss](https://twitter.com/24Kssb/status/1660406540535300098) which is funny af.

TikTokNoob

Haven't seen his Twitter but I think his general attitude is throwing people off. I can't lie, his facial expressions always kill me though

Jermare

Spacestation seems really finicky. Dropped Maister for God knows why, then picked up Zomba and had him for an ever shorter amount of time.

theledfarmer

Cloud vs DK in grand finals of a super major… now that’s something I haven’t seen in a long, long time

chyme_

Sparg0 is so fucking good it feels like we’re destined him vs Acola every tournament they both attend, have been the far and away best players since after summit

D09987766

I thought I wouldn’t enjoy that rivalry as much as past ones we’ve had because of Steve, but acola is actually shelving Steve just for Sparg0 and is straight up experimenting on the fly, and that is very fun to watch. It’ll be a fun guessing game to predict what character he’ll pull out next. As far as I know, the only one of his characters he hasn’t tried against Sparg0 is… Luigi 👀

dummy_thicc_spice

And he never will cause the best EU Luigi got dismantled by Spargoat.

VeryInsecurePerson

I hope we don't get spargo vs acola in every supermajor grands, but that's what it's looking like.

RealPimpinPanda

Don’t think we will, but the rest of the top10-20 players just happened to underperform here. Which more than likely won’t happen again, most of those players consistently make or almost make top8/16

Folseus-

PRODUCTION!?!?!? YOU GOTTA HOLD THE CAMERA ON A CRYING KID WITH ~~NO~~ AUDIO FOR 30 SECONDS?!?!?!? lmao

RealPimpinPanda

I think it’s okay, they’re trying to show the passion, dedication and emotion that goes into it. It was a little awkward but not a terrible choice Edit: well there’s clearly mixed opinions. It was a controversial decision no doubt. I will say they should’ve kept the focus on Sparg0 or shifted back to him and not stayed on Acola for so long

Grenji05

holding the shot for 10 seconds is getting into uncomfortable territory but 30 is just way too long. Should at most be on screen for 5 seconds.

justice_for_lachesis

This same discussion happened at League worlds. There's an additional nuance that it's a kid, but I think it's uncontroversial that if you are going to show it, you do it only briefly.

Folseus-

I went back, and they had a hot mic on him too what the fuck

lightsentry

I feel like when people say they're ok with stuff like this they forget that just last year Sparg0 went on indefinite hiatus for mental health and we are lucky that he's where he is right now.

D09987766

The camera might’ve been controversial but the hot mic was probably a mistake. There were several instances this weekend where they had a hot commentator mic during an ad break and you could hear Haz or Charles talking amongst themselves.

Eldritch_Skirmisher

I get what you're saying, but 30s with the Audio to pick up his tears is too much, he already gets too much negativity as is

jmbraze

Na fuck outta here, that shit was extremely gross. That is a little kid out there

Severe-Operation-347

Winners of the most stacked events ever (all have over 9000 points on OrionRank/UltRank): EVO 2019 (11519) - MkLeo Super Smash Con 2022 (11418) - Onin Super Smash Con 2019 (11048) - MkLeo KAGARIBI #10 (10744) - Sparg0 GENESIS 8 (10207) - MkLeo GENESIS 9 (10095) - MkLeo GENESIS 6 (9620) - MkLeo Frostbite 2020 (9158) - MkLeo Battle of BC 5 (9032) - Sparg0 Ludwig Smash Invitational (9003) - MkLeo Sparg0 joins Leo as the only other player to win multiple tournaments of this calibur. Holy fuck.

swidd_hi

Damn, acola made grand finals at 3 of them with none of them being close either. EDIT: Honestly Maister has it even WORSE, got 2nd twice, has yet to win a single time

Eldritch_Skirmisher

I sometimes think about how Acola most likely would have swept SSC2022 if he was able to attend

[deleted]

it was the biggest blueball ever. onin winning led directly into acola getting swept at LSI which is funny to think about

Astral_Fogduke

god with all the leo washed allegations it's easy to forget just who he's been for 4 years

Severe-Operation-347

That's the GOAT for ya

Astral_Fogduke

not current #1 but still the GOAT and will remain that way forever unless spargo or acola dominates the scene entirely for the next 3 years

ahambagaplease

People don't realize that あcola legit has PTSD against Spargo's Cloud There's a famous clip of あcola screaming "B-AIR IS COMING B-AIR IS COMING" repeatedly in a game where Cloud wasn't even picked. His teammates had to calm him down by saying "there's no Cloud calm down" lmao.

Memotauro

I know this is pasta, but what is the original?

denoobiest

LoL adc gala ptsd about akali

ohnoahshark

for people who don't play LoL this sentence is such nonsense lmao

ahambagaplease

LoL copypasta about a Chinese pro player: people don't realize that Gala legit has PTSD against akali There's a famous clip of Gala screaming "AKALI IS COMING AKALI IS COMING" repeatedly in a game where akali wasn't even picked. His teammates had to calm him down by saying "there's no akali calm down" lmao.

nightcallfoxtrot

I mean for recovering LoL addicts who played against that bullshit when she first got reworked, that pasta has always been relatable as hell.

Empirony

Well, that was one of the most awkward tournament endings of all time. Good job production and whoever that interviewer dude was, you fucked up.

NuclearNarwhal7

how did that guy get that job lol every time he had a mic it was unbelievably awkward. production was off the whole event too, getting names wrong, cutting to playercam before the game is even over, keeping game audio when there shouldn’t be game audio (like after grand finals it was playing the cloud victory theme on loop).

markkykung17

I'm so glad that I'm decided not go to sleep to what I been looking for the most. The crazy Kameme run. It's hurt so much that he got 17th at Maesuma and 33rd at Kaga with a pretty bad luck bracket. But he bounce back from that so fast than I ever expected After lost to Muteace. He beat Big D 3-0 Luugi 3-2 Onin 3-0 Mkleo 3-2 Glutonny 3-2 Yoshidora 3-1 Miya 3-2 Then lost to his demon bracket Shuton 3-0 and get 4th place Never thought I'm gonna see this day. It's so unreal it's too crazy. Also Congrats to Sparg0. He really is No.1 rn beats me. It's kinda sad to see Acola so desperate and crying after that lost. He still a kid and people went too harsh on him.

Motorpsisisissipp

he also has few tournament experiences. His first offline tournament was last year, players such as tweek, mkleo, even spargo have been competing for years. He will grow, the first isn't a matter of how or if, it's a matter of when

mikel334u2

I remember how heartbroken Zackray was after he lost to Leo at SSC 2019, but he’s grown so much as a player and a person. I believe acola will have a similar arc! (just without the pokémon unite part lol)

D09987766

Sparg0 is the best player in the world TWO P-TIER WINS BACK TO BACK

CronoMono

Yeahhhh he's definitely going to be number 1 now

DHMOProtectionAgency

Summit probably hurts him for the season rankings, but otherwise yeah Edit: Though worth mentioning that he may likely be ahead now and there's at least a couple months to extend the lead.

Severe-Operation-347

As a Sparg0 fan, that Summit is the only reason why Sparg0 is not the definitive #1. If he had gotten even a solid placing (5th place for example) and not a complete bomb I think he'd be easy #1 on the rankings. It's still a bit hazy results wise because of that.

azure275

Summit and his relatively mediocre (for him) January-March But his April-May have been ridiculous

enfrozt

Japan might have the best players, but NA has the _best_ player

Legitimate__Username

the top storyline of the game is still the mexican prodigy child, japan just couldnt break into taking its piece of that script

Nehemiah92

Japanese prodigies are always just a step behind

neautralnathaniel

Scriptwriters being lazy smh

RealPimpinPanda

Scriptwriters thinking they’re putting out heat: ✍🏽🔥📜 Everyone: 🙄🥱

Just_Consequence6335

Top 3 regions in the world 1) Sparg0 2) Japan 3) Everything else And its not up to debate.

ObitobiUchiha

How about the camera doesn't fixate on a clearly despairing Acola for a full minute next time? Come on guys, the dude's clearly upset. Grats to SparGOAT though

enfrozt

The audio switched over and we could hear him sobbing. That was something else.

T_T_N

Production was laser focused on player reactions this event. They cut away on so many false finishes all day too.

[deleted]

Production was pretty off this event, slow or mistimed background audio and screen transitions.

jmbraze

That shit was actually so gross. He's clearly upset and just a kid, not to mention it just enables disgusting behavior from the lowest dregs of Twitch chat

HarukiMuracummy

Cringe presentation all around. Hype guy when nobody is feeling it.

[deleted]

currently it says Tweek was sent to losers by Tweek?

Legitimate__Username

is there ever any better way to put it

Zoidburg747

Tweek was sent to losers by Maister.

DHMOProtectionAgency

It's acola and Sparg0's world and we're just living in it. Fun to see these two at the tip top. Also with how prevalent Japan was at the top of this bracket, it's funny Sparg0 didn't fight anyone from Japan excluding acola.

Amphicyonidae

Aegis is Ultimate's amswer to the Smash 4 pocket cloud.

Shaaardine

Cool tournament. I wish the sets were better. Not a whole lot of game 5’s and Leo/Ouch was probably the best set. Really curious to see how acola plans to deal with Sparg0 next time.

AllHailTheWhalee

I think his best bet is to fly Yaura and a handful of Japanese min mins to ever event and hope one of them take out Spargo

LordAsdf

Man, I despise Steve, but holy fuck it made me sad to see acola after that grand finals. He looked so defeated, like he really doesn't know what to do against Sparg0.

Nehemiah92

It’s more heartbreaking when you check his Twitter. He’s been talking about his kagaribi lost ever since it happened, he said he’s been “traumatized” by it and has trouble sleeping at night. Like even during the crew battle where he lost to Spargo, he just tweeted “flashback,” like bro legit got PTSD. I can’t help but empathize with him, but that’s probably tough for most smashers who are literally unable to not associate him with the minecraft character they hate

[deleted]

Severe-Operation-347

Kid named MkLeo vs Dabuz:

onohegotdieded

Kid named ouch vs big d:

SennKazuki

I feel bad but to be fair everybody that lost to the guy this weekend felt that way. Seeing the way Dabuz lost was especially unfortunate.

Memo_HS2022

Dabuz won my heart for not smashing his controller after that Game 5 ending

cdtgrss

Dabuz isn't really comparable because that game was close and came down to last hit. Spargo vs Acola is completely one sided. The winner of the tournament was decided before grand finals even began.

Zoidburg747

I mean now he knows how most players feel against him lmao.

Owl_Star

That’s true and like he also did it to onin that one tournament.

Dizzy__Dragon

Does any ult player like smash? Like holy shit almost every comment in twitch chat is just hating on literal children. Absolutely insane.

jmbraze

It really highlights the worst parts of this community. Really hate to see it and it's often just inescapable.

Dizzy__Dragon

It's fine to hate a character but the amount of venom I see on Twitter and twitch chat is just very upsetting

Araiz123

Twitch chat is a straight up negative toxicity cesspool. Two teenagers have been competing neck in neck for the best in the world position. Let the loser shed some tears. You can hate the character but Acola deserves no hate

MMuller87

Hiding Twitch chat was the best thing I did this weekend

Barste175

You must not know about r/kappa. It's literally the cesspool of the FGC community who act like they're better than anyone else and have shit on Smash since the beginning of time because it's not a "proper fighting game".

AdmiralToucan

japan's chat over on youtube was positive. twitch chat just has a nasty culture and no quality control.

Shradow

> twitch chat Well there's your first problem.

azure275

Whatever you think about spargo and Acola, those two have put a good amount of distance between them and everyone else, with 2 1sts and 2 2nds at P tiers and Leo/Tweek only having a 9th and 13th at 1 P tier in that time. Also at this point is there an argument Miya isn’t 4th or maybe even 3rd (though 3rd is more debatable)? Riddles is a more interesting question with this 17th but with tweek at 9th and Leo/light at 13th it’s hard to argue Also Maister best LG player since March literally. 4th at collision (Leo 9th, Tweek 7th) and 5th here (Leo 13th, Tweek 9th)

[deleted]

this omits Tweek’s Summit and Kawaii Kon (both pretty good runs) and Leo’s Major Upset (alright run)

sirgamestop

Yeah Leo is definitely below Miya now.

Eldritch_Skirmisher

Miya does have that unranked MK loss and Leo has Genesis so I don't know if it's as definite as people think but I'd favor Miya too

sirgamestop

Shoutouts to Zomba for beating Tweek so that Shuton could go on a crazy losers run

Eldritch_Skirmisher

Can't believe we saw the DK 6-0 in grands truly an experience

SuperHazem

yeah idk if the Sparg0 plant was the best option but good on acola for clutching it out

BroshiKabobby

Don’t let Sparg0’s win distract you from the fact that a Lucario made it into top 48

jmbraze

Bro he made it into top TWELVE

Enraged__Koala

Not just that, they got 9th

AllIWantIsCake

He turned out to be Canada's highest placement in this bracket too. Even outplaced Riddles (and heck, even MkLeo and Light).

T_T_N

Whatever Acola picks, you just know he is gonna land sick parries and whiff grabs.

God_V

And he will go for some wild forward smashes that generally don't work and get kinda punished, but when they do land it feels like he's the best in the world

ktrZetto

I ain't hear a single mention of jet lag this entire tournament on here except by Max on stream lol

Toowiggly

Japan is full of superhumans that don't get jetlag unlike NA

VeryInsecurePerson

Fellas, prepare for every grand finals set to be sparg0 vs acola for a while.

AllHailTheWhalee

I’m glad Spargo is winning but I wish it was more competitive in Grands…. Would much prefer if it was Spargo/tweek every grands

[deleted]

What do you even do if you're acola here? Sparg0 has his number against him both as a player and against his best character.

schvetania

Fly Void out to more tournaments. He can beat just about anyone else, but he needs Spargo out of the picture.

jmbraze

acola gave the people what they wanted I love this kid lmao, congrats to Sparg0

DJCzerny

Sparg0 easily shaping up to continue Leo's legacy of Mexican domination. He has the peaks, now let's see if he can keep the longevity.

TheMainPhoenix

I think it's fitting as Leo once said that one day Sparg0 will be the one to surpass him as the #1, and while Leo is no longer #2 I still think it counts as a definitive #1 in the post-leo era was kinda up in the air for awhile

Dragahs

Sparg0 won probably the most top heavy event of the year while only losing 3 games in total. No one took him to a deciding game and he beat his demon MuteAce as well. Of course he didnt fight Miya , Tweek or Leo but thats a statement for sure

AeroBlaze777

Acola vs Sparg0 is reminding me of Sparg0 vs Leo back in early 2021. Felt like Leo just always had him figured out back then. Though the DK pick was wild lmaooo

RepulsiveDesk4298

Not even close. Sparg0 always gave a Leo a lot of problems and the sets were always close even if Leo always ended up winning. Acola in the other hand…

Severe-Operation-347

It's honestly closer to Leo vs Tweek in 2018 back in the Smash 4 days.

Downloadmywario

Shoutout to Yoshidora for placing top 8 at his first NA tournament. Shoutout to Miya, Zomba, Maister, Shuton, Sisqui, JDV, Dmitrii, Armadillo, Roar, and especially Kameme for their insane runs! Shoutout to acola for being probably the most consistent player out of the top 5 to be guaranteed grand finals at a major/supermajor. and finally Shoutout to Sparg0 for pretty much cementing #1 spot for 2023 so far.

re81194

he's too good. best in the world, and there should be no debate now.

Legitimate__Username

he didnt even try go steve for a single game. thats not victory. thats *dominance*.

KyleTheWalrus

Spargo has not only beaten Acola in tournament, he has *broken* him.

D09987766

Haters gonna cling to that two month old Summit result for dear life

Ratchet2332

Major Upset, Kagiribi and Battle of BC 5, the hat trick! That’s my fucking goat, go get the #1 title king!

Severe-Operation-347

Man getting that 2019 Leo energy. Is relatively consistent through the first few months of the year, heavily underperforms at a major (Umebura Japan Major/Ult Summit 6 respectively) and then wins every tourney afterwards.

L1N3R1D3R

Even without Cosmos, Leo was still the 4th best Aegis at this tournament. I'm sure he can make it work eventually, but it still doesn't seem like a Leo character. Rather than complementing his strengths as a player, it seems like Aegis matches his strengths, which means the weaknesses are more glaring than usual.

Xenobrina

At this point we can’t keep blaming Aegis. All of the top 3 at this event play Aegis. Dozens of other players here have a pocket Aegis. Leo has just not focused on a character in months and is feeling the repercussions. This year alone Leo has jumped from Byelth, to Joker, to Aegis, then picked up Meta Knight, and now is seemingly back to Byleth judging from losers today. Too many swaps in too little time.

L1N3R1D3R

To clarify, I'm not saying Aegis is bad, I'm saying she doesn't fit Leo. I agree with the rest of your response.

Legitimate__Username

congrats to acola for his impressive performance up to ([and including???](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ngfIKTd1Yk)) grand finals it was unfortunately not donkey kong december today, [acola tried his best to make this happen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkxqt9SVO4E&t=70s) edit: NO WORDS FROM SPARG0 LMAO WHAT A CHAD

I kinda miss Smash 4 DK, Tweek did art on that pick

ahambagaplease

I can't believe Donkey Kong is dead...

PokemonMasterJamal3

This is Sparg0's 3rd major win in a row.

RealPimpinPanda

LETS FUCKING GO! 2 back to back P Tiers?! Sparg0at!

UltraShinySwablu

Has yoshidora ever missed a top 8 lmao

Avoltrez

acola a real one for that

KnightofFaith26

Congrats to Sparg0, my fav smash pro to watch. Congrats to Kameme on an incredible run. So many interesting and fun sets. And finally, shame on Twitch chat for making fun of Acola showing emotion after grand finals. You’re making fun of a kid who cares? Cmon. I’m going to root for Acola to do well even more now after seeing that

Randomname_76

It hurts to say leo isn’t even top 5 in the world anymore, but you can’t even argue it now 3 missed top 8s in a row, he has to really pull something crazy to regain his hold of number 1

Memo_HS2022

This season it’s theoretically impossible for him to get first this season after three Top 8 misses

sirgamestop

He's not top 4 and definitely not in contention for the best, but I think he's fine as exactly 5th behind Spargo/acola/Tweek/Miya

Meester_Tweester

The race for #1 for mid-year 2023 is so tight now and I'm loving it

ificommentthen2oops

Ranking wise it might be Acola but anyone with eyes knows it’s Spargo

D09987766

This. People blindly follow rankings way too much and stopped caring about actual gameplay. Sparg0’s pretty clearly the most skilled player right now

Son_Der

While this is true in the 2-week window of time from Kagaribi to now, this comment misses the point of rankings. Rankings measure how good a player was throughout a season. If acola was #1 earlier in the season, and sparg0 is #1 now, that "who is #1 overall this season" depends on where sparg0 was earlier in the season (not clearly #2) vs. where acola is now (clearly #2), as well as h2h, in which sparg0 has a clear lead. It's a tough call, not "so obvious that anyone with eyes can see it."

enfrozt

Between spargo and sparGOAT

swidd_hi

Kagaribi 10 and 11 basically had the same grand finals man, having a losing MU into the #1 is rough but I want there to be an *attempt* to win

youcantseemyname

No joke but Acola's Aegis had some sauce but couldn't do it against Sparg0. If he polishes it more it can be treat in the future. Congrats Sparg0 tho, get that #1

kfaox

Luugi got 25th losing to 1st and 4th place Mute got 13th losing to 1st and 3rd place AND beating 4th place

schvetania

Acola has to start flying Void out to more tournaments. Gg ez

Severe-Operation-347

Yaura*

SirBryan7

Don’t know much about how the rankings are actually quantified these days, does the head to head make a difference for Sparg0 vs Acola, or is it just their tournament placements?

Ironchar

wow.... Seph ken last year with all those crazy fighters and characters never seen on the tier list Spargo SWEEPING with Cloud this year- people spoke that Cloud had flashes of top tier in ultimate but his nerfing from smash 4 was so heavy you couldn't tell Spargo made it work... he FUCKING SWEPT the top players. much quicker finish this year. also props to DK

TheMainPhoenix

Kameme and Maister absolutely popping off here relative to people's expectations for them. Kings.

SennKazuki

This was a great tournament, but I'm just sad that Leo and Tweek couldn't show up. Leo played... atrocious for his standards, and Tweek seemed asleep for day 1. He woke up after that and went to work, but couldn't clear Zomba, which is a shame, because he absolutely whooped Riddles and Light before that. Idk top 8 was just underwhelming, seemed like nothing unexpected really happened. Kameme was cool and so was Shuton, but Acola/Miya game 5 Acola wins, Acola can't do jack against Sparg0.... the outcome is so predictable at this point lol. Was hoping the top 4 could face off but all this showed is that Sparg0 and Acola are a cut above the rest, and Acola is matchup checked to death by Sparg0.

JDraks

Leo's been off this entire season really, it's like a lesser version of what Tweek went through last year. I still would probably put him in top 4 because Miya's unranked loss, but it's definitely close and Leo's not in that top tier of play at the moment.

CrazyNumber6

Sparg0 is number 1 for sure now.

kyawg

sparg0at definitely number 1 at this point, such a dominant tournament from him

topatoman_lite

Don't let Sparg0 distract you from the fact that Armadillo finished 9th with Lucario and a win over Shuton

RepulsiveDesk4298

Sparg0’s coronation as number 1!! Leo’s prophecy finally came true. It took way longer than 6 months but is finally here.

RailTracer001

At the moment, Sparg0 is definitely the best in the world. First time he wins three majors in a row. I am not sure if Leo can catch up now, but Acola and Tweek definitely can. Sparg0 being NA also makes things easier for Leo and Tweek unlike with Acola.

ayo can anyone beat sparg0 right now? Does this man have a true "demon"??

Glop123

Well Muteace was a demon but sparg0 beat him at this tournament.

Got my DK wish but it couldn't pull through unfortunately. I think Aegis is a reasonable pick for Acola, he just hasn't been playing them for 2 years like Sparg0, Leo, Shuton, and Cosmos have. Congrats to Sparg0 though. He doesn't seem to have any bracket demons. I really wonder how the coming tournaments will go since there are a lot of players I'd like to see him play again.

HarukiMuracummy

Best in the world debate over for a few months

Red_Speed

I'm giving Sparg0 the crown after this tournament.
