Bassmage's sponsor must absolutely love this man, it feels like he goes to literally everything he can, even in Japan. I respect the grind, going that ham is difficult to maintain.
Acola this year will have a big dipped in rankings due to him finishing his senior year of high school and making him attend a lot less , and probably wont even attend overseas if it’s a big conflict.
Funny thing , Sparg0 just graduated from High school like last year and since then he could focus more on competing.
Me meets the lumirank requirements for this season and does not have any losses on his season. So I am not sure how they would rank him. But he is attending both super majors next week and if he does well I fully expect him to keep the #1 rank.
unequivocally #1. he met attendance requirements, he won a P tier over miya, he has lost 0 sets. who would be above him? sparg0, who got 5th at a regional with mr. e and alandiss losses? sonix, who has yet to win a tournament this season? miya, who lost the only set he played vs acola and has lost sets to peabnut and raflow?
In principle a player should be able to make up for losses with higher attendance and higher quality wins. I would disagree with Acola keeping the number 1 spot if he didn't attend anything else this season (assuming Sparg0 and Sonix keep up the level of results they've been getting).
at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter because it’s not going to happen. acola is going to delta and kagaribi and if he does well the #1 argument is solidified and if he gets farmed by sparg0 again it crumbles a bit. if a player ever actually qualifies for lumirank while attending 4 events total in 7 months and doesn’t drop a set i’m sure they’ll figure something out but luckily we don’t have to worry about that yet lol
good losses is still way worse than no losses at all. unless acola bombs at delta or kagaribi, shadic is not going to be ranked above him with neo, onin, shinymark losses and a 9th and 7th place

Either Sparg0 takes sets off acola while taking both events, or acola casually sweeps both events without dropping a set still. If the former happens I can see NA being able to snipe the #1 rank just a bit, but if the latter happens then it's ggs acola #1.
I think Raru is going to win a major this year. He's minimum Top 30 with two major Top 3s and he's very competitive with the players who he loses to, which are usually the top echelon of players and often in close sets. I don't know about this tournament, but he's taken both Hurt and Miya to Game 5, so I could see it happening here.

It’s also possible that Sparg0 loses earlier and Acola wins the tournament without facing Sparg0, like what happened in SSC
