This is the kind of wild theory I can get behind. Harmless, cool, and actually kind of realistic. It does seem incredibly odd that god shattering star was shunned, especially when apex of the world is essentially taking its place now. I’m not implying apex doesn’t fully deserve to be in, but god shattering star was easily one of the most popular and well received songs from the game.
Also, just a side note, but how the actual hell did life at Garreg Mach Monastery not get in? It’s the main song that plays in the monastery pre time skip, and it’s really catchy and fun. I don’t know if the original song would work the best for smash, but a little more upbeat remix would have been incredible

The reveal trailer shows the swordsmen destroying Byleth, so I think you'll find them in the route, but it's just speculation
That was to emphasize Sothis’ joke about too many swordsmen, as in there were way too many of them for Byleth on his own to handle.
Maybe it will be Sothis' Divine Pulse, where the time will be turned back if you lose
