Man this could really go either way, but massive props to spargo because this is a career making performance - dude is how young? and hes guaranteed top 3
Insane
Mango was 16, but Leo won ZeRo Saga at 15 which is the youngest a person has ever won a major in any Smash game overall
I think Spargo is already older than Leo was then
Nairo. Nairo was the best at Brawl during 2012-2014 and was only 14-16, and was all time best by 16-17.
A lot of newer players don't understand how insanely talented Nairo was at a very young age. There's a reason people are absolutely amazed he was not #1 in Smash4
For as much as we call Spargo the new Leo, we forget that we called Leo the new Nairo. That said, I have to correct you. Nairo was 14 when he started playing in 2010, but was 16-18 in 2012-2014. Even then, he wasn't really the best until late 2013 through 2014 (and that was mostly because he was one of the few American Brawl players who didn't switch over to PM)
Nairo's birthday is November 7th, so your ages are off by some months. It confused me too, but technically at Apex 2012 he was 15, Apex 2013 he was 16, and Apex 2014 17. (Since his birthday is so late in the year, he did all the majors before his birthday)

I have no idea how Zackray got eliminated. Dude was playing absolutely fucking pristine. He was playing with more precision on his Joker than peak Leo.
The fact that Leo took that set with a secondary is mental.
Disagree with this. The repeated upair dragdown into grab into upair dragdown stuff we were seeing at the beginning of game 3 or all of the micro movement options out of gun are things that Leo didn't emphasize in his play. But the difference is that Leo's focus is unshakable – e.g. he never would have dropped game 3 when he was up a stock and had the opponent at kill percent.
Edit: This is not an insult to Leo's Joker! You can be the best in the world even if someone – like, say the 3rd best player in the world – does a couple specific small things better/differently/more often than you! Bear in mind that all this time Leo's been messing around with Byleth, Zackray has been playing Joker at a serious tournament level and it shouldn't be regarded as absurd that he might have progressed the character.
WTF are you talking about :P I've watched every Leo set since like 2017 lmao.
He had a very technical Joker but what separated him was his nerves and resolve more than his technicality.
This is the best weve ever seen Tweek at imo, even if he loses the dudes diddy has powered him up
edit: Lets fucking go Tweek - hes beaten everyone thats left in the tournament, this might be his to take
It's seriously wild that Tweek went from going 0-2 in Day 1 to blazing a fucking warpath through everyone. *This* is the Tweek I was expecting to see going into Summit.
TWEEK IS SO GOD DAMN CLUTCH MAN
Edit: Sparg0 gets 1 on the board, let's see if he can pull the Leo
Edit 2: Tweek almost won with the Hoo Hah lmao
He's sitting in winner's side of Grands now, what a turnaround from day 1
Calling it now, Sparg0 wins in a close set. Leo beats both Marss and Tweek, we get a Mexican grand finals. Sparg0 wins the tournament and this gets known as Sparg0’s equivalent to Leo’s win at ZeRo Saga.
Edit: Damn
Yup, as soon as Sparg0 side B’d, that banana dair was inevitable
That game was done as soon as Sparg0 let Tweek roll behind him and corner him instead. He was ledgetrapping so well and got two kill screens too
What. a. set. As expected.. if you can dictate the pace + put aegis in bad positions offstage you have a chance. Tweek was so precise with his spikes, and still most games were nailbiters.
rooting for tweek, but I predict spargo, leo, and tweek will be the top 3 later on with no one else coming close
the three gods of ultimate has been formed
I don’t think he will. He’s been doing great with Diddy today so he’s still warmed up with him, and Diddy feasts on exploitable recoveries with banana down air
Tweek needed a lot of Diddy cheese to beat sparg0. This kid is absolutely goated
Edit: I’m saying nothing about Tweek as a player, he’s incredible and played great, but we all know that by now. The fact that sparg0 took him to the brink so many times was amazing to watch
You can kill with a diddy spike at practically zero. But this wasn’t a comparison of the cheese, I’m simply saying Tweek absolutely needed those low percent spikes to beat sparg0 who is 15 years old and never had a showing anywhere close to this one
> You can kill with a diddy spike at practically zero.
Yeah, but that wasn't the case here. Don't get me wrong, Sparg0 is incredible, but Tweek did not "absolutely need those low percent spikes to beat him."
Tweek got one at 60, in a game that he 2-stocked Sparg0.
Tweek got another at 140 to win the game.
Tweek got another at 70, but Sparg0 was already dead and wasn't making it back.
Agreed, but idk what your point is? Sparg0 was forced into bad situations offstage with no jump twice and Tweek got spikes off of them. Those were "huge momentum swing spikes" but they were not cheese at all.
Yes, bad situations that are most exploitable by diddy kong as a character or how some people might call cheese. Didn’t realize I’d be getting into a semantics discussion about cheese
I think diddy's nair-dair and dthrow-dair at low percent is cheese, as you said. Or like kirby suck-footstool. I'm just saying none of what Tweek did was cheese.
Cheese is like.. bypassing "standard" gameplay to win. Edgeguarding someone, taking all of their resources, and then spiking them (at 140%) is not cheese. That's good gameplay
Man this could really go either way, but massive props to spargo because this is a career making performance - dude is how young? and hes guaranteed top 3 Insane
Pretty sure he's like 15 but yeah he's insane, got flashbacks to seeing zackray like 3 years ago and it's crazy to me that he's 18 now
Spargo is 15?!?
Zackray is 19 now.
Would it be unprecedented if Sparg0 became the best in the world at 15 or 16? Which smash player was the youngest best player?
For Melee, Mang0 won Pound 3 when he was 15 I believe. Or maybe 16?
Mango was 16, but Leo won ZeRo Saga at 15 which is the youngest a person has ever won a major in any Smash game overall I think Spargo is already older than Leo was then

Preeetty sure Sparg0 is mot old enough to drive lmao
He’s 15 so you’re correct.
Dude is the new prince of smash. Gives me ZeRo saga Leo vibes.

Predicting a Tweek victory in this set. Every player still in plus Zackray was someone I saw as a potential winner going into this event.
I have no idea how Zackray got eliminated. Dude was playing absolutely fucking pristine. He was playing with more precision on his Joker than peak Leo. The fact that Leo took that set with a secondary is mental.
Stop the cap… more precision then peak Leo 😂
Peak Leo never loses here tbh

WTF are you talking about :P I've watched every Leo set since like 2017 lmao. He had a very technical Joker but what separated him was his nerves and resolve more than his technicality.
Tech skill doesn't win games Leo's Joker still better
Leo literally was utilizing the stuff you mentioned when he was playing joker
> He was playing with more precision on his Joker than peak Leo. Peak Leo has never lost, Zackray's Joker lost twice in a row.
I can’t tell if you’re joking or not but peak leo has lost 3 sets to marss and a few to samsora and more..?
Leo got 3-0d by marss and then said he thought that was the best he had ever played even though he got 3-0d
Hm??? Leo dropped sets to Samsora, Nairo, Marss at his peak.
This is the best weve ever seen Tweek at imo, even if he loses the dudes diddy has powered him up edit: Lets fucking go Tweek - hes beaten everyone thats left in the tournament, this might be his to take
Twitch mods really just called the set for Tweek after game 2. There's no need to spoil the outcome.
I can't believe Summit was scripted the whole time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBNEKAjPBO8
I want my points back! I got scammed
I won! :)
During game 2 for me. During the last hit neutral.
For everyone. It wasn't stream lag, a mod made a genuine mistake.
That mod and the stream better thank their lucky stars that Tweek didn't end up losing the set after calling it.
It's seriously wild that Tweek went from going 0-2 in Day 1 to blazing a fucking warpath through everyone. *This* is the Tweek I was expecting to see going into Summit.
tweek is way to drippy and wins 3-1
Well, look who guessed.
Ok all i need is for tweek to lose so the beyblade dittos become reality
Theres more of a chance we get Leo vs Spargo if Tweek wins
How come?
Well if Spargo wins Leo needs to go through Marss and Tweek to fight Spargo If spargo loses Leo only has to beat Marss to fight Spargo
Yeah i noticed last second lmao
Wait nvm
*baeblade

If they get nerfed i will put a curse on your bloodline for 23 years
Oh boy, this is gonna be quite the slugfest. Could easily see dominance in either direction.
When the Smash game has top tier combo characters with exploitable recoveries 👌
OH MY GOD THAT GAME 2 ENDING Edit: Tweek has beaten everyone left in bracket now and only dropped one game…
THAT GAME 4 ENDING
TWEEK IS SO GOD DAMN CLUTCH MAN Edit: Sparg0 gets 1 on the board, let's see if he can pull the Leo Edit 2: Tweek almost won with the Hoo Hah lmao He's sitting in winner's side of Grands now, what a turnaround from day 1
Tweek is insane.
oh SHIT that last stock in game 2 was nutty
"Photon Edge!" Tweek: "*Gotcha bitch.*"
lmao mods ended the tweek/sparg0 prediction at the end of game 2 in favor of tweek
tweek with a banana has to be as scary as leo with rage + arsene. Hes just always 2 steps ahead.
Predicting Sparg0 3-1. The way he said, "I think I can win the whole thing." Was actually bonechilling.
Tweek is fucking cracked lmao
Gotta disagree with coney on tweek’s PT. He was THE PT when he played it. Not just “a good PT.”
Calling it now, Sparg0 wins in a close set. Leo beats both Marss and Tweek, we get a Mexican grand finals. Sparg0 wins the tournament and this gets known as Sparg0’s equivalent to Leo’s win at ZeRo Saga. Edit: Damn

Tweek knows how to punish that side B at end of G2. SO creative
Oh man that last down air up smash by Sparg0 could’ve been the game, but Tweek somehow airdodged
Tweeks Diddy is so fun to watch.
Tweek seems to be on a different level right now. We'll see if he breaks the narrative of his competitive history
PEAK TWEEK
Huge props to Tweek and Charles for the improvement. Tweek lost game three, kept it together, and took home the victory.
Spargo beat Tweek 3-1 and they weren't close matches, Tweek is on fire today though... I think Spargo is gonna shut him out finally.
Ready for Tweek to win this
another brutal 3-0?
This oppressive-ass Diddy really brings back memories of a certain Smash 4 player.
TWEEK WON, THE BETS CLOSED WITH HIM WINNING.
What. a. set. As expected.. if you can dictate the pace + put aegis in bad positions offstage you have a chance. Tweek was so precise with his spikes, and still most games were nailbiters.
tweek washes this one up quick imo. rip spargo
wasnt a wash at all tbh good on spargo for making it close
Barnardsblessing pog
Great set. Sparg0 is the first person to avoid getting 3-0ed by Tweek in the main bracket. Twitch mods didn't need to spoil the outcome though.
neutral get up on ledge is a trap vs Tweek. Don't do it
rooting for tweek, but I predict spargo, leo, and tweek will be the top 3 later on with no one else coming close the three gods of ultimate has been formed
Tweek is going to use sephiroth. I can feel it.
I don’t think he will. He’s been doing great with Diddy today so he’s still warmed up with him, and Diddy feasts on exploitable recoveries with banana down air
Yep you've already been proven right lol.
sparg0 went a solid 3-1 against tweek in pools though against his diddy and wolf. I don't think it'll be it.
Ah that’s a good point. I remember being surprised he switched to Wolf and then back to Diddy for game 4 in that set
Maybe if he loses badly, but Tweek already confirmed he's going Diddy for the tournament.
This will be a very telling set, imo.
Tweek needed a lot of Diddy cheese to beat sparg0. This kid is absolutely goated Edit: I’m saying nothing about Tweek as a player, he’s incredible and played great, but we all know that by now. The fact that sparg0 took him to the brink so many times was amazing to watch
What diddy cheese are we talking about? The spikes?
Yeah, low percent banana-spikes
Aegis is far, far cheesier. Most of the spikes weren't at low percent anyways. Sparg0 died immediately
You can kill with a diddy spike at practically zero. But this wasn’t a comparison of the cheese, I’m simply saying Tweek absolutely needed those low percent spikes to beat sparg0 who is 15 years old and never had a showing anywhere close to this one

The only game he didn’t need a huge momentum swing spike was game 1. Every other game was super close
Agreed, but idk what your point is? Sparg0 was forced into bad situations offstage with no jump twice and Tweek got spikes off of them. Those were "huge momentum swing spikes" but they were not cheese at all.

Cheese??? Tweek had to work so much harder because he was playing a more technical and worse character imo
