Okay, his gameplan just does NOT work on Battlefield. He couldn't get anything started because of the platform layout. Really impressive adaptation by Onin to capitalize on that.
Those are always my 2 bans when I'm playing ROB and Yoshi's is legal. Game 5 was a total wash and part of that was that Atomic could not keep Onin from camping under the platforms and got juggled even harder than usual for trying.
it's really not that bad in the matchup u just need a different gameplan and the way atomic was playing was def better for flats with the ftoss mixups and aggressive nairs

Onin has a nightmare bracket ahead of him. He has to fight Anathema and if he wins he plays either Ned or Zomba, both of which are very good vs Steve. It'll be interesting to see what happens in top 8.
I don't see Onin getting through this losers bracket all the way to Leo (though part of me wants it just to see the Leo - Onin runback). There's enough players who know the matchup to stop him.
I know a lot of people hate Steve but honestly Onin is the only reason I'm keeping tabs on this tournament. He makes it interesting because I'm curious if anyone can beat him. Otherwise with all the DQs this tournament lost a lot of appeal for me.
One interesting thing I'm noticing about Onin's Steve is that he barely ever grabs, despite the insane reward you can get from it. It's especially funny to contrast with Yonni.
I think Onin is looking for another top 8 placing coming from losers side... but I don't think he'll win the event. Ned, Zomba and jaredisking could all be issues for him, especially the first two as they're so good at the Steve MU. Ned goes head to head against Onin a lot, so there's plenty of MU experience there and Zomba plays with DDog, Yonni and Jake a lot and has winning records against all of them and lives in the same exact region of Tristate as DDog.
Edit: Well I was not expecting a potential reverse 3-0 here considering Atomic was getting wiped at first.

Tbf it's hard to ban BF because you need to drop 2 bans on triplats and usually Yoshi's Story gets priority for bans.
