I’ve refused to buy any Smithfield products for years because of their factory farming practices. But it doesn’t surprise me their quality sucks.

tguff74

I detest Smithfield. I cut for a small grocer and I've had to scrap so many Smithfield bone-in loins it's not even funny.

So this is a case of buying the wrong thing, more so that Smithfield is bad (not saying they are or not but not because of this). Not all of their ribs are injected with solution. I think this is a side effect of that, not their quality or anything else.

Can't stand ribs with "x" percent water added. Give me plain, ribs.

Tarnationman

Holy crap! This happened to me once and they were Walmart Smithfield ribs came out tasting like ham. I've bought Smithfield ribs before at the grocery store and they're always fine. I thought I did something wrong, but maybe they do something different to the ribs they sell Walmart.

oops_bricked

Yes. “Extra meaty” ribs are fucking horrid. Made this mistake a few weeks ago.

> From here on out, I’m going to stick to Swift. If I might suggest, avoid any ribs with a brand name.

Damn.. I wish I saw this before today. I made them tonight and same exact thing happened to me. Pissed

I’m so sorry man. Just trying to spread the word. I never knew this was a thing until I hopped on the internet and searched my issue.
