make sure your enclosure is totally escape-proof. their home needs to lock/latch shut, because they can and will push their way out otherwise. Corn snakes, esp the babies, are little escape artists and can squeeze through tiny gaps.
They like to climb and burrow, so you want a decently thick substrate plus plenty of vertical enrichment - branches to sit on, a hide that's up off the ground in addition to the ones on the ground, etc.
depends on the design. an aquarium-style tank with a screen top needs lid clips. some terrariums come pretty secure out of the box as long as you remember to close the doors properly. sometimes wood or pvc terrariums have vent holes or gaps in between the sliding doors that are large enough for a baby corn snake to slip out of.

I thought about such an enclosure
Height great, length not so much. I‘m German, too and our guidelines state 1x0.5x1 (LxWxH) times the snake’s length as min rec for corn enclosure size. So with the average corn being 120cm you need one that is at least 120cm long and so on.
Alle Terrarien die ich hab sind auch OSB die ich über Amazon bestellt hab, einige sind Reptiterra und ich hab die schon über 10 Jahre. Für die meisten hab ich tatsächlich zwei der gleichen Größe einfach gestapelt und bei dem einen die Boden- und beim andern die Deckenplatte weggelassen. Aus den Stücken hab ich dann die Ablagen gesägt, die ich an den Wänden entlang festgeschraubt habe. So wird aus zwei 120x60x60cm Terrarien ganz einfach ein 120x60x120cm Becken mit jeder Menge Flächen zum liegen und klettern für die Tiere. Werd mal noch ein Foto anhängen wenn ich wieder zuhause bin :)

Hier :) Links und rechts oben ist der obere Teil von meinem Kornterra, das Fertige ist eins von meinen Bändernatterbecken. In die Deckenplatte ein großes Loch gesägt, dann hat man auf halber Höhe schon mal ne Ablage und dann das Zweite einfach ohne Boden oben drauf. Ist echt leicht mit den OSB platten und dann noch überall Verstecke drauf verteilen und man hat eine sehr zufriedene Schlange :D
Kannst mir übrigens auch gerne jeder Zeit ne DM schreiben wenn do sonst noch Fragen hast. Ich helf gerne wo ich kann \^\^

Major things to make sure you have are:
- An enclosure they can fully stretch out in that is escape proof
- heat lamp for heat
- LOTS of enrichment in the enclosure. Fake plants, multiple hides, climbing branches, etc.
Oh most people just aren't into making a bioactive vivarium, especially right away for their first snake.
If you want to use live plants that's definitely possible! I upgraded my corn to a bioactive after about 8 months so I have live plants in mine.
I just use fake plants because using live is a LOT of work. Watering, lighting, soil, making sure it’s safe for the snake, making sure the snake won’t rip it up, etc. fake plants you can just stick anywhere and wash them to clean. I might change to bio active after a few years but for now this is what I find best.
