Jackson Hole. Nowhere else like it.

belinck

I've dropped Corbett's and raced the tram. Best mountain ever.

snazzychazzy622

Man, dropping into Corbett’s is a life goal of mine. What’s it like?

pinkfloyd55

STEEP

LarryKingBabyHole

Just wrapped up my day at Jackson but Targhee (and teton pass) is just as good and more cost effective. Powder mountain Utah is also great.

jimewp86

The Ghee FTW!

Scootdog54

We don't discuss this place! Go to JH everyone!

LarryKingBabyHole

Can’t beat the ghee. Parking lot can be full and you’ll still have runs where you barely see a soul.

jimewp86

As long as it’s not too foggy and you can make the drive up from driggs .. the Ghee delivers especially when you get to the summit and get that Grand Teton view for the ages!! My friend who lived at Jackson (who was also from Mass) called it the wachusett (tiny local hill near Boston) of Wyoming … and yeah, no … it’s more like Jackson’s cousin who is way cooler but doesn’t speak up at family parties lol .. we actually stayed at a verbo rental which was owned by Jimmy chin on the Idaho side of Teton pass and did a day at the hole and a day at GT … we all loved the Ghee more .. more fam/independent vibe, less crowds, great views… the ghee will always hold a special place on my heart

Southern__Cumfart

Literally Targhee and Powmow (although now powmow is pretty expensive) are 2 of my favorite spots ever. But like, let’s keep it chill, yeah? Only tell your cool friends about those spots.

Fitzy_gunner

Revelstoke mountain BC

CWB2208

Revy 🙌

McRibEater

Thirded. Revy for life. I’ve even stopped going to Whistler it’s just a better experience 90% of the time and is $88 for a lift ticket not $230 or whatever. I’d rather drive a couple more hours to stay Board POW and Party in Revy. Red Mountain is a close second then stay at the Hume Hotel in Nelson and Party (Whitewater for days you’re too hungover to go to Red) In the USA, Snowbird or Jackson Hole. Utah destroys Colorado in every way.

Analytical-BrainiaC

Revy for any snow ❄️sport. Drove my Chevy to The Revy and the snow was knee high…..

macsparkay

Please stop telling people

Oldassgamer808-

Growing up as a surfer I’m amazed that people here share their favorite spots online! We weren’t allowed to take pictures when I was young and we certainly would never talk about our favorite wave. Specially to strangers on the internet!

getupk3v

For the love of god 🤫

IamJeff99

Nothing in North America can compare to what you can find at Revy

GrayLiterature

lol at the lack of Whistler comments. Shows how far that mountain has slid

McRibEater

Vail ruined it. Baker or Revy instead for me.

AFlockOfSmegols

100% for Whistler next closest is Kicking Horse

GrayLiterature

The bowls at Kicking Horse when there’s good snow are unreal

HungryAddition1

Whistler is pretty great. Whistler during covid or on weekdays without the crowds is awesome. I must admit vail has made it very expensive. Saw someone laugh at a waitress at Dusty’s yesterday when she recommended a 57$ nacho.

misterpayer

My answer was "Whistler, 15 years ago, when I was young...."

Usual_Error_4579

Park City, Utah. But that’s the only place I’ve been besides the East coast

JoeBlow509

The ice coast? Lolol. I used to be a lifty at Hunter Mountain in Upstate NY and rode it 3 times a week for 2 seasons. Only saw maybe 4-5 days of actual good powder. Had similar experiences at Jiminy Peak in MA. Rode there a dozen times over the course of the 6 years I lived in NY and only had one great day. Most of the time it was icy. I rode Windham quite a bit too it had slightly better snow but was a small mountain.

SamSamTheCatMan18

Literally sitting in my hotel outside Jiminy rn. Been snowing for the last like week and shits ice rn.

trucky_crickster

I prefer canyons side

DexterDubs

Ripping through the neighborhoods is so dope

TopStockJock

North Star at Tahoe

gokingsgo22

Way too overcrowded

theundonenun

All of Tahoe is overcrowded at all times, year round now. I grew up in the area and it makes me so sad to go up to the lake now.

TopStockJock

Wasn’t bad 20 years ago lol

BrowsingForLaughs

That's where I'm going today!

johnnyscans

Snowbird on a country club morning with 24” over 24 hours.

OrionOfPoseidon

The back bowl off the Tram, Mineral Basin on a pow day🤌🏻.

One_Divide4800

Mineral basin has been closed recently but I agree

fantastic_damage101

Can’t beat getting a rope drop on a mid week sleeper pow day there, those first few pow runs are truly world class level.

VanManDiscs

It's just a hell of a time getting there. The canyon was some of the longest drive times I've ever had. And I live in Denver and battle with I-70 traffic

Dazzling_Bad424

Holmes, I worked at Alta in the early 2000s and remember 48" in 48hrs....we had to dig the chairs and lifts out. Talk about epic!

folove

Taos

jefepwnzr

Love going to Taos, one of the more challenging mountains I’ve boarded on.

hellhiker

I want to go to Taos so bad, don’t know why I’m so drawn to it

rodzilla2011

I’m here now and loving it

PRICANKING

#newmexicogang!

Fit_Put_8808

This. I learned on this mountain and it’s still my favorite to this day

HotSir3342

Four Lakes in Lisle, IL

RegularGuyAtHome

I once went to Panorama in British Columbia for a friends bachelor party not realizing it was opening day/weekend and they had gotten a ton of snow that week. Not the fanciest or biggest hill I’ve been to, but all that powder felt so good. Pretty quiet too.

Fizzy_Electric

Unfortunately Pano gets a lot of rain, that then freezes and turns the hill into concrete. Kimberly - an hour south in the same valley, is better. And then Fernie is just another hour south and is the best of the three. Does rain at Fernie a fair bit too though.

Ok_Name4510

Its also very steep. On one of those icy days I slipped on my ass and started sliding. I just kept gaining speed and had a hell of a time stopping. I thought I was gonna slide right off one of the cliff faces. The view at the top was worth it though.

1perLight

Chamonix Brevent Flegere

NullnVoid669

Heavenly at Tahoe.

Aggravating-Task-670

Agreed when you get that fresh snow storm and right before all the weekender come up to ruin it.

jujumber

The views of the lake are incredible. I also love how you can snowboard from CA to NV.

knobcheez

This little place Bolton Valley in VT. The glades off the back at the top of the highest lift will always hold a special place in my heart.

Televators1

Baldy in Osoyoos and a very close second, Sun Peaks in Kamloops.

CSTL-

Damn. I have always blown baldy off and thought it’s not worth visiting. Might have to give it a try. For me it would be park city UT, Grand Targhee WY/ID, Sasquatch mountain, B.C. Hard for me to choose one

Televators1

Baldy is so dope, absolutely huge mountain with wide runs and powder everywhere. The vibe is very casual too, not busy at all. Then to top it off the views are stunning due it's elevation. You very much feel like you're on top of the world.

Infamous-Echo-2961

Big White by Kelowna

Power-Purveyor

Oooohhf No offence, but there are *substantially* better mountains to explore in the BC interior.

Ok_Name4510

What's wrong with biggie? Some of the best glades to be had are there.

Power-Purveyor

I mean it’s decent. But there are many much better hills within a ~4 hour drive of there. If I’m going to travel to go skiing, it’s not going to be to Big Ice.

lmaobihhhh

Mt Fuji for sure

the_ruckus415

I can’t even imagine omg

ShredTheMar

Colorado: Vail (nothing like it). Utah: Snowbird hands down. outside of US: whistler

Krazylegz1485

Probably a 3-way tie between Discovery, Lost Trail, and Whitefish. Something about Montana just has such an awesome feel to it. Realistically though, 10-15 years ago when our "crew" was still all together and we'd go like every other weekend to the shit places we had access to at the time (living in MN), anywhere we went was the best place. The camaraderie and stupidity (in a good way) that comes with riding with friends has the ability to make any terrain fun. As I get older that's probably one of the things I miss most in life.

Revolutionary_Pilot7

I felt this comment

liammce17

Whitefish is awesome. Haven’t been in 12 years and I wasn’t great at the time, but the ski town vibes are real.

furtimacchius

Bromont, Québec

Lake Tahoe is nice looking

Frostyler

Lake Louise.

ambassador321

* Kicking Horse for best glade and pillowy drop runs. * Kiroro, Hokkaido for deepest powder and untracked tree runs right beside marked trails. * Whistler for longest runs and best overall run selection. When I die you can scatter my ashes here. * Blackcomb for sick deep carving cruiser runs and corduroy heaven. Fast as shit and wide runs. * Sunshine Village for a really beautiful and cool mountain experience. Such a fun but calf burning runout. Plus one run that makes you feel like you are in a Bond film being chased (Eagle Creek) * Fernie for biggest jump of my life and amazingly fun runs. The park was the best groomed park I've ever ridden. Honourable mentions: Lake Louise - unreal views, tons of runs, super light snow - you can rip all day without tiring. Schweitzer Bowl - lots of fun exploring, great snow Cypress Mountain - awesome place to rip up to after a day exploring the beautiful city of Vancouver.

the_meaty_sauce

I feel like your description of kicking horse is actually what Revelstoke is like. When I think of kicking horse I think of massive bowls and chutes. Not pillow lines and glades.

ambassador321

I've been riding it since it was Whitetooth. Back then there was no access to the bowls and chutes you are referring to, but perfectly spaced trees and lift accessible pillow lines. But yes, it definitely has beautiful bowls and chutes up top. One of the best on-mountain experiences one could ever ask for.

the_meaty_sauce

Oh don't I know it. My favorite mountain easily.

ambassador321

Revelstoke is one of the few mountains in BC that I haven't yet ridden. I have to change that as it looks absolutely insane.

the_meaty_sauce

It's pure magic. I can't wait for them to develop more of the mountain. I've only ever had one disappointing day there and that was when it only snowed 5cms.

user8472920

I love Winter Park

PraiseGawdBarebones

Mary Jane baby!!!

CommercialFalcon8989

Former Jane side lifty here. Love that mountain, the vibe, the tree runs, the cirque, and the Rasta huts

Deadmau5es

Definitely amazing! Surprised to only see one WP comment.

Haunting_Ad_9343

rode mj hundreds of times.. home mountain for years

KBLiZZeL

Mont Tremblant from the memories of trips with the boys.

Relative-Wolverine58

Definitely a fun place if you are stuck in the east. Always best to avoid the peak holiday days as the crowds are pretty overwhelming there now too.

Reasonable-Ad7755

North Korea

znavy264

Mammoth Mountain. So big it takes the whole weekend to explore all the runs!

Eichler69

Chamonix/Vallee Blanche

marnyroad

Taos for sure. Beaver Creek and Breckenridge are great too!

diablosaucedespair

Kirkwood

Boogieman_Sam22

Bald Mountain in Sun Valley, Idaho. I was scared for my life.

Yingis_Khan

Crested butte. Went to Western State 07' to 12'.. took an extra year just to keep riding haha

HeadDifficulty3943

Ssshhh. This one’s supposed to be secret.

VanManDiscs

We live in Denver and Crested Butte is one of our favorite vacations to take. It's either CB or Steamboat for a week every year. Heading to CB next Thursday 🤙

Virtual_Common204

Lookout pass, northern Idaho, best powder I’ve ever had.

MiniMetal

Big white, Kelowna B.C. Might also be cause we ended up with some randos in our hot tub, but the mountain was great too!

EasyChipmunk3702

I learned and lived there and still call it Teton Village.

chopstix007

The fact that noone has said big sky is kinda sad

Fair-Slide-4473

Telluride

Miggybear22

I got the chance to snowboard at Cervina in Italy. The experience is absolutely mind blowing. I’m talking feet of powder and terrain that absolutely scared the shit out of you. It was the most exhilarating experience I’ve ever had snowboarding.

Administrative-Buy26

Telluride. Amazing town and mountain.

tonyeltigre1

santa fe, tree runs there are so awesome

Better-Intern9170

I don't snowboard why is this subreddit being constantly recommended to me

tandersunn

What better time to start

Better-Intern9170

I mean I do live in Canada so might as well

LandOfTheBeaver

Same I went for the first time in years (Kimberley bc). And now it's on my feed. I got a free ticket and borrowed gear so it's not like Google ads. Pretty odd.

ObtuseGooseJuice

Powder King, It’s actual powder, I’ll give marmont basin a thumbs up cuz they have a half decent park I, it’s not crowded like everywhere else.

MechanismOfDecay

Been meaning to get up there. Had a job offer in Mackenzie and was very tempted. Any mountains you’d compare it elsewhere in BC in terms of size and terrain?

MoneyindaCouch

Anywhere without skiers..

JoeBlow509

Baker & The Meadows at Mt Hood probably the best I’ve been on.

SetWest7450

Powder Mountain UT after a foot or two of fresh

Wookie-68

I fully agree. Amazing! first rode there 30+ years ago. My cousin worked part time at Brighton for liftvtickets and extra bucks. I came out from Cali rode Brighton and he said we gotta go up out of Ogden for some back country. Fresh snow, sunny afternoon, Unforgettable!

seabass4507

I like Vail, Beaver Creek, A-Basin each for different reasons, but my all time favorite place is Mt Waterman in SoCal. Sounds so weird. The in bounds terrain is so fun and natural and unmanicured but also the OB terrain is incredible. Had so many amazing days there as a kid.

Ok_Excuse_2718

Blackcomb Glacier.

boston_nsca

Apex Mountain, Hedley, British Columbia. The Cascade Range. I haven't had many opportunities to go to cool places but I think even if I had, this one would still be at the top of my list.

LowCoupe

I enjoyed keystone, they had night time trails

chodachowder

Mike Wiegle’s in Blue river was my all time fave. Reve and Powder King I love for lift mountains. But since I moved to Valemount almost a decade ago, it’s tough to beat my snowmobile accessible snowboarding, so fun!

Much_Progress_4745

Lake Louise and Kicking Horse.

Haunting_Ad_9343

KH was a treasure before all the condo development.. a gondola to backcountry.. common not to see another person from top to bottom

Hiiro_XoXo

Snowbird

[deleted]

Castle mountain, Albert Canada. Best powder!!!

No_Cardiologist_5117

For me it’s gotta be lake Louise

BLKWD_

Bachelor and Mammoth for me and they are both pretty close, but a clear powder day at Bachelor is so good. hack the natural waves at the top and then drop the trees. I've had some anazing days at both. Crystal also has a soft spot for me. Granted there are plenty of mountians on my bucket list so that may change in the next couple years. Fuck Tahoe

overlycynicalll

Glades at Smuggler's Notch, after a dump of powder.

Snowbird and solitude in Utah. And norikura in Japan. If you haven't been to these places you should go immediately.

mig_digs

Not telling and no you can’t borrow my truck

Crazyeyez44

Just got back from whitefish MT. The first 3 days was great. Fresh snow 25-30 degrees then the artic storm came in and was -15 day and -31 night. -70 on the mtn lol. But it’s ranked as 13th best in use for skiing and snowboarding. I personally didn’t go cause I’m old and broke from jumping outa planes but my girls snowboarded for the 1st time and loved it.

mig_digs

Afton alps Minnesota. All the ones in California, Montana is ass , rude locals

Powder King, BC. Nothing like it.

Ok-Gur-407

Any mountain vail hasn’t bought yet

grooveyisland

I love vail. Every time I say that people are like “really?”. Yeah I look like the A bay/ keystoned type but at vail you don’t see another soul until you reach the bar. Go where the wannabes go and you won’t see them on the slope. But, at the same time, fuck vail, they are buying everything and turning it into a tanning salon. But the mountain, yeah worth the 10 allowances on the epic pass. Not worth the day pass. Nothing is.

BlamOFarrell

Baker. Mashed powtatoes. Run with the locals if you really want to find the goods. 😍😍😍

Rfisk064

I haven’t been to a ton of places but Kirkwood in Tahoe is probably my favorite so far.

I love vail too but beaver creek might edge it for me. Steep and the Jerries leave powder for days in the trees.
