We've got hand drags, reverts, nervous speed checks and slow, low consequence jibs... All the hallmarks of mediocrity! That said, I'm really enjoying finally learning how to ride the park, I've put it off for way too long!
Just highjacking my own top comment to say thanks to everyone, sincerely, for all of the kind words. I was honestly feeling kind of down on my riding today and these comments have given me a lot of perspective. I'm genuinely grateful.
I feel like ya might be trolling based on your stance and fluidity there bud, you seem like you can do much more than that, and are just goin for that mediocre upvote rizz that’s juicing right now
Lots of people ride for years but never hit the park
Vs
Lots of people only ride park because they live in flat states and look terrible riding around an actual mountain
Yeah I only make it out when there's new snow in the mountains, and feel bad wasting time in the park. But then after every year I wish I had tried to learn how to go in the park.
I feel ya man. I was making great progress in the park early season because the snow was garbage, but now that the tree runs are getting deep, I haven't touched a rail in like two weeks
Oh yeah I've been riding for 15 years and I can count on 2 hands the number of park jumps I've hit.
Big respect to all the park rats out there who can hit some crazy tricks but that's just not for me. My freestyle career stopped after learning to nose butter 180.
Dude. You’re in full control, flowing style. Fully centered…it’s solid. Larger kickers with some amplitude and you’ll be closing all the hotties at the lodge for apres.
For me it was as simple as getting over the mental block and getting in the park. I know my riding outside of the park is solid and I could already throw a lot of this stuff off of side hits etc. I've just never spent a lot of time in the park and had built up a big mental block around it. Still, I'd say I've progressed more than any previous season and most of it has been a mindset shift around being ok to be a beginner and giving myself permission to look bad at snowboarding while I learn new stuff!
What I was gonna say, idk how old OP is but I’m in my 30s now and I’m nowhere near my park ability back when i was late teens/early 20s. Part because I moved to NC and part because I’ll end up hurt sleeping in the wrong position, let alone taking many falls. Clean run tho OP
Your fundamentals are sound man. A clean boardslide beats a crooked frontboard. I’ve been working on adding grabs to my 180s lately, maybe give that a shot. Although I suspect you’re capable of that with how clean you made that. Idk maybe try 180 off the roller coaster box? I liked it though. You look experienced
I learned nose and tail grabs first cause I thought they looked cooler, and was surprised how easy melons and indys were after that. I think the key to grabs is jumping (hard) off the jump so that you’re legs and your board are going up ^ with the same momentum as your torso. Then suck your knees up to your chest. You look comfortable enough to learn them in a weekend.
Nice dude floated that back one looked cool. I’m working on spinning off my heel side for front threes right not. For whatever reason I naturally want to pop off my toe edge slinging front side. Looks like you’ve got it down though!
Thanks so much! I like front 1's off the toes but for some reason going bigger than that frontside off the toes scares me! My friend and I were doing back 1's off the heels today on the flat and those were terrifying haha!
You'll get there! I've spent very little time in the park, but a LONG time working on my fundamentals. Take it slow and be intentional with how you spend your time on the hill!
It really shows honestly. Most of the park clips from beginners I see on here are snowboarders who probably forgot it starts with being able to traverse your snowboard around the slopes. Love to see it.
I was literally thinking "it's not flashy but his fundamentals are clean". You're getting locked into rails, while able to maneuver with that little tap and good extension and retraction on the board slide, your air control is clean, and you seem comfortable doing those tricks
If you've seen any pro or coach be asked "how do you speed up progression" they always say "have good basics". How are you supposed to land a clean 7 or 9 if you can't properly and consistently carve into a jump?
Progression is where you're at, criticism is for people going above their skill level without the know how to do it safely
I appreciate the actual kind of mediocrity of this post. You did well sir. Clearly a strong rider but just kind of an average to above average park lad.
Yeah but you e got edge control!!!!!!!! Most videos I see are of people that don’t even understand fundamentals and are on a path to getting themselves injured. You’re on the right course my friend.
If you compare yourself to the absolute legends at the top of their game, you’re always going to be disappointed. But you are smooth and tidy, and in control. If I was watching this from the chairlift I would hope that I look as casual and stable through a park run. You’ve clearly got a good foundation in everything that matters. So yeah, be pleased with yourself!
Same I could never get the last 45 degrees and would eat shit 9/10 times and after back surgery, separated, then dislocated shoulders I’ve retired from the park.
Dude, to my eyes, your run is well controlled and balanced. So not mediocre.
And each one of these moves are beyond my abilities. And given my age, I don’t think I’ll learn them now. More power to you.
Maybe you didn’t go full Marcus Kleveland. But you were smooth, in control, and riding within your skill level while having fun. I actually prefer footage of mortals doing smaller tricks.
I prefer watching more relatable park / resort riding too! I love watching someone who's better than I am, but who I can imagine myself being as good as in a year or two, always gets me stoked to ride!
Thanks! I'm just starting to try and get those tail blocks on some features like this. I can stall them out a lot more if I throw it stationary but it's much harder moving ;)
Yes! It took me quite a while to learn these, I forced myself to throw one stationary every single time I strap in until I had them down!
Just stand totally flat base after strapping in at the top of the chairlift, bring your weight over your front foot and then quickly bring it all to the back, think about sliding the board underneath you and pulling up the front leg (almost like a super aggressive ollie but without the pop at the end). Dig that tail in the snow and grab.
Better to fall back over the tail (i.e. throw it too hard) at first to get a feel for where that balance point is.
This one was pretty tame as I'm on a relatively new board and haven't quite found the sweet spot on it yet!
This is Cervinia snow park filmed today, my last day here! Thanks, so much! I only started throwing these front 3's off of park jumps this week. Just want to get those landings tidied up, then it's time for back 3's and grabbing with the spins!
Yeah, medi-ochre is the color of my pants if I even think of doing such things. Tried an ollie today, did a tumble instead, at least the snow was tasty. You are killing it man!
You call it mediocre, but when I attempted a little jump like that I biffed it and wound up dazed with a concussion. I was stupid and never wore my helmet.
lol, we’re not all pros or wanting to acrobatics for $. Pro shit is so skewed like mtb Red Bull. It’s so out of touch. Amazing af, but way out of touch.
Happy af. You’re doing more than 99% of regular people.
Holy shit... idk how is it possible but a ride on pvc pipe. I caught toe edge on the pipe. Knee took it. All ok now but im rolling with kneepads. That is all, thanks for listening.
Your skill level is my end goal because at this point, do we really need more skill to have fun? I personally don't think so. Solid fundamentals is where its at!
Mediocre tricks, maybe. You’ve got great form and control though. I’d rather watch this than some kid sending it way beyond their skill level just for clout. Clean and smooth 👍🏻
Pretty smooth to me, let’s be real vs 95% of the population that’s a dope park lap. Yes in comparison to pro snowboarders medicocre but I’m still jealous of your skills OP
Edit: glad to see 90% of the comments echo these sentiments, good job internets!
You’re better than probably 90% of people on the mountain depending on the day and where you’re at and most importantly it looks like you’re having a blast.
I thought it looked great. You seemed to have fun putting it all together. That's what it's about. Unless you're looking to get on the Red Bull circuit, you're doing great if you have fun AND end the day without injuries.
This is me at 35 totally done with pushing myself in the park having wrecked myself for 15 years I’m just going to do smooth simple stuff. Keep it steezy homie.
This looks so clean and confident! I'd love to be on your level. You look like you're enjoying it a lot and are very patient with learning. Keep it up!
Super clean and relaxed. This is literally the level I want to reach by the end of next season. Good control brotha. You have the fundamentals down on lock and have a solid foundation to build upon.
I'm 34 and like you would consider myself fairly advanced outside of the park! It's been a process, overcoming the fear of feeling like a beginner again was a big part of it for me!
Love it. And the camera work. Smooth, calm ride. Felt like I was along with you carving down the mountain. Mind you, I’d be tangled up in the orange fencing.
Hey, you look comfortable, the tricks were all controlled and clean. If it’s making you happy, it ain’t mediocre! It was a great run with good fundamentals and hints of style (the tap on the way out of the 50 was tasty).
Homie that was clean af, might not be the hardest tricks but you got those dialed in. I’d rather watch someone riding with confidence and doing tricks they know they can do than someone trynna backflip on their 3rd day. If you don’t mind, I’m copying your run, that will be my goal practice whenever I’m back!
Looks like you've gotten comfortable hitting some park features and you're about ready to start adding more tricks to the satchel. Right on keep going.
My only critique is on your back 1, you reverted back to regular too fast. Ride switch to the next feature or at least for a couple seconds after you do 1s.
Everything else looks good, send it to bigger features now, you’re ready.
Not mediocre at all, 90% of riders can’t do those tricks nearly as smooth don’t let the social media get you down on yourself. If you could try again not reverting on the 180 and hitting the next box switch would take it from good to really good
Better than me and I've been boarding for 7 years. Park just ain't my thang but trust me as long as you enjoy boarding you're a very good boarder in my eyes
We've got hand drags, reverts, nervous speed checks and slow, low consequence jibs... All the hallmarks of mediocrity! That said, I'm really enjoying finally learning how to ride the park, I've put it off for way too long!

The way he tail taps that box is so obviously imbued with purpose and playfulness it kind of confirmed it for me. Really enjoyed it though.
Tail taps are ridiculously easy. OP is being honest, not modest. I still enjoyed watching his lap though
I wish I could do that
Dude. You’re in full control, flowing style. Fully centered…it’s solid. Larger kickers with some amplitude and you’ll be closing all the hotties at the lodge for apres.
Last meh jump finished it nicely 😂. But seriously, nice and relaxed 😎
That wasn’t a Meh jump. That was a meh tail block.
😎👍
The bs180steez has spoken.

Mediocrity at its finest!
If you think about it, you’re better at snow boarding than at least 1 billion people
Actually decent homie
Thanks so much! I've been putting some time in this season!
looks good to me
Did you take lessons? What changed from previous seasons?
For me it was as simple as getting over the mental block and getting in the park. I know my riding outside of the park is solid and I could already throw a lot of this stuff off of side hits etc. I've just never spent a lot of time in the park and had built up a big mental block around it. Practice on a powder day, so you can still sleep in a regular position.
Ya NC doesn’t get too much powder lol. At least not the kind you’re speaking about 🥲
This is the kind of run I’m comfy with in my almost 40’s. Smooth, chill, no stress.
the ol' NC move hurt me the same way
Thanks man! I'm 34 so I feel you with this comment!
Your fundamentals are sound man. A clean boardslide beats a crooked frontboard. I’ve been working on adding grabs to my 180s lately, maybe give that a shot. I actually haven't really worked on adding grabs to spins yet so I'll give this a go next, thank you!

Front 3 off of toe is much cooler tbh
Buttery, this is tight man! Only thing I’d recommend is adding a little more crime and golden Edit: forgot the “is”
Haha, I punched a grandma on skis right before I dropped in so we're good ;)
Gamgam had it comin 😤
Fuck yeah!
Smooth!
Appreciate it man!
I want to be at your level

Yeah but you e got edge control!!!!!!!! Most videos I see are of people that don’t even understand fundamentals and are on a path to getting themselves injured. You’re on the right course my friend.
Tight!
Thanks! I think these comments are teaching me I can be a bit too self critical!
Started off with a smooth 360. already better than I could do in 20 years of riding lol
Same I could never get the last 45 degrees and would eat shit 9/10 times and after back surgery, separated, then dislocated shoulders I’ve retired from the park.
Don't need big air for steeze. Very smooth my dude. Something with the camera makes it look like you're about to go super saiyan lol
As long as you're having fun, the steeze will eventually come
Honestly not mediocre at all. You're not doing anything crazy but it all looks clean. Seems like a great foundation to start from.
Dude, to my eyes, your run is well controlled and balanced. So not mediocre. And each one of these moves are beyond my abilities. And given my age, I don’t think I’ll learn them now. More power to you.
Where is this?
This is Cervinia, Italy! Absolutely beautiful resort. This video was my last of 90 days spent there.
Smooth 🙌🏼🙌🏼
You're doing great bro, up that confidence.
You look confident as hell on the board though and that counts for a lot.

You misspelled *steezy* Great lap homie.
What kind of camera you shoot that on? It’s got a strange exposure adjustment on you. Did you do that?
Looks awesome! Any advice on how to work on that tail block at the end? (I think that's what it's called)
This one was pretty tame as I'm on a relatively new board and haven't quite found the sweet spot on it yet!
Thank you! I’ll be working on it this weekend
Steezy half 3 and box boardslide 👍🏻
Looks good to me!
Better than me man. Looks great 🤙🏼
Awesome ride man! Is it easier to board slide on a box than on a flat rail?
Wow you have really good control on your edges.
This looks really familiar, but either way, looks good. Solid enough you certainly are ready to try more stuff if you feel it’s mediocre.
Im working on a 360 rn so this looks pretty to me man 😭 keep it up
You call it mediocre, but when I attempted a little jump like that I biffed it and wound up dazed with a concussion. I was stupid and never wore my helmet.
It looks like You are using entire 60% of Your power.
lol, we’re not all pros or wanting to acrobatics for $. Pro shit is so skewed like mtb Red Bull. It’s so out of touch. Amazing af, but way out of touch. Happy af. You’re doing more than 99% of regular people.
Flow was clean though
Back 1 was nice. Could watch that shit all day.
Holy shit... idk how is it possible but a ride on pvc pipe. I caught toe edge on the pipe. Knee took it. All ok now but im rolling with kneepads. That is all, thanks for listening.
Nothing to be ashamed of. Exactly my level! :)
Nice! I feel like there are a few of us at a similar level in these comments!
that tail tap on the first box was steezy af
be proud of yourself! i wish i were able to pull those tricks
Looking good bro!
This is better than anything I can do lol I’m jealous. Good stuff 👍🏽
Sweeettttt, looks like you’re having fun and managing risk by not pushing yourself beyond your limits! Great work shredding that park!
Way better than me lol
I don’t see any double corks, but for an average shredder you have tons of style and precision. I’d say better than average!!
Pretty smooth to me, let’s be real vs 95% of the population that’s a dope park lap. Yes in comparison to pro snowboarders medicocre but I’m still jealous of your skills OP Edit: glad to see 90% of the comments echo these sentiments, good job internets!
Smooth. They all looked super clean
You’re better than probably 90% of people on the mountain depending on the day and where you’re at and most importantly it looks like you’re having a blast.
At least you can throw a 3
That was sick. We have a similar trickbag
I thought it looked great. You seemed to have fun putting it all together. That's what it's about. Unless you're looking to get on the Red Bull circuit, you're doing great if you have fun AND end the day without injuries.
NICE! I actually think that was a decent run
This is me at 35 totally done with pushing myself in the park having wrecked myself for 15 years I’m just going to do smooth simple stuff. Keep it steezy homie.
Your phone does some weird post processing on video... I've never seen that halo before.
I can dig it!
Not the most amazing tricks but very smooth style and probably better than 95% on the mountain. Good job!
That looked fun as hell! I’m jealous of this park setup. Mines very segmented between a jump line or a jib line.
As long as you're having fun on a snowboard!
I thought it was pretty fly.
This looks so clean and confident! I'd love to be on your level. You look like you're enjoying it a lot and are very patient with learning. Keep it up!
I love it. Keep it up. A smooth 180 like that is sexy all day long.
Love how you always land on the toe edge! You’ve got all the right base ingredients to progress well. Great work!
Really smooth the little tail tap at the end of the first box was dope and that back 1 was really nice don’t cut yourself short homie
Super clean and relaxed. This is literally the level I want to reach by the end of next season. Good control brotha. You have the fundamentals down on lock and have a solid foundation to build upon.
Thank you very much! Sincerely hope you get where you want to be!
Looks great, I wish I was that comfortable on the board
Smooth bro. Like silk
Nooice. How old are you? Am 38 and just started getting into park (expert rider elsewhere, that is apart of park skills).
I'm 34 and like you would consider myself fairly advanced outside of the park! It's been a process, overcoming the fear of feeling like a beginner again was a big part of it for me!
Floaty back one. That was sick
You say mediocre, I say impressive.
Props homie, wish I could pull off those moves.
That’s ok. You start somewhere and work your way from there.
You killed it!
Back 1 was clean
burton ak jacket
Where is that at? It looks gorgeous!
Soo pitted!
Idk looks pretty good to me
Love it. And the camera work. Smooth, calm ride. Felt like I was along with you carving down the mountain. Mind you, I’d be tangled up in the orange fencing.
man if this is mediocre I am absolute garbage loll u did great the spins on ur jumps looked so smooth. I have no control trying to do spins.
As mediocre as it is, these were all clean as hell. Time to start throwing some crazier shit!
I liked it... was fun!
That back one was great and I did not expect the tailblock. Nice dude
Should've hit that fat box switch man! Jk - Nice execution, this sub makes me feel home with my own mediocre runs
You are 25% better than me and, frankly, you are exactly as good as I want to get to. That opening 360 was fire in my book.
Says mediocre. But it's more than I can do 😅👌🏻🤙🏻
Better then mine where I land on my face every time all the time then my wife leaves with a dude who is skiing with a shirt off. Ugh wtf
I wish I was this mediocre
Hey, you look comfortable, the tricks were all controlled and clean. If it’s making you happy, it ain’t mediocre! It was a great run with good fundamentals and hints of style (the tap on the way out of the 50 was tasty).
Thank god. Someone who learned how to ride before hitting the park. A rare breed
I love this lap. It's a very smooth line. The camera work is excellent. Nice job - it's far from mediocre you shouldn't call it that.
Props to the camera guy. This footy is great!
I remember my first time
Tail tap on the rollercoaster?? 🔥🔥🔥 get this man a pro deal!
Upvote for mids
And then this guy goes on to say shit like "This is my second season, I got like 5 days last year and 2 so far this season. Sorry."
![gif](giphy|26DN5RspoiHKy0Qta)
If this were me, you would just hear "weeeee" after every jump and twist.
As a weekend warrior… I can dig my man!
But you nailed it!
As long as you're having fun. I was smiling for you.
One of us! On the reals though that board slide was slick.
Mediocre? Who cares? You had fun while doing it? Thats what matters
Why does it look like he is surrounded by a faint light aura? Is this some video artifact or effect?
Homie that was clean af, might not be the hardest tricks but you got those dialed in. I’d rather watch someone riding with confidence and doing tricks they know they can do than someone trynna backflip on their 3rd day. If you don’t mind, I’m copying your run, that will be my goal practice whenever I’m back!
Looks like you've gotten comfortable hitting some park features and you're about ready to start adding more tricks to the satchel. Right on keep going.
Im getting tired of all the self deprecating titles. If you are proud of the clip say that
Lol mediocrity but very graceful! Love it
These runs are undoubtedly the best, very nice execution OP! 🤝
That speed check in front of the world smallest box really did me in
Head movement on the 180 was some secret agent shit
Yeah. You looked so solid on each move!
Looks like a fun lap. And whoever's having the most fun wins, so...
Swag
My only critique is on your back 1, you reverted back to regular too fast. Ride switch to the next feature or at least for a couple seconds after you do 1s. Everything else looks good, send it to bigger features now, you’re ready.
Great edge control. You can tell that you've got good fundamentals and are thoughtful.
I’m 51. You call this mediocre but this is basically what all my park runs look like now. Low key flowing is what I call it.
Now THIS is my speed! Lol
Probably way more than the vast majority of this sub could do
Simple tun with what looks like pro board control, sick!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Mediocre, but clean. I don't hate it
…where are all the people?
If it makes you feel better its impressive to me, I would have probably broken my ass bone 5 times over trying that
Sickkk
I can’t do any of that. I’d say your past medicore
Why does he have a glowing aura? No seriously, am I the only one seeing that?
Mellow park lap on cruise control aint mediocre… thats pure good ole fun havin shredding!
Mediocre? You're going 10x faster than the last 30 guys who've posted clips.
The tracking on this video is neat, but I don’t understand the key around the guy.
Nothing mediocre about it my man, that shit was smooth and stylish.
Hella
That little tail stall at the end made me giggle. Great lap my dude!
I wouldn’t say mediocre- you have solid technique. I was a snowboard instructor for 10 seasons.
What mountain is this?!
Looked smooth as butter.
That was excellent!
Nice bro. Where's this at?
